| Posted: 16 Jul 2014 11:42 AM PDT  Amazingly, the richest clergy in Africa, Bishop David Oyedepo is worth over N600 billion. The founder and shepherd-in-charge of Living Faith World Outreach Ministry, popularly known as Winners Chapel is an epitome of wealth and affluence. With the outstanding Cannanland, reportedly worth over N90 billion, with diverse projects erected and revenue accrued from it, four jets valued at N25 billion, N15 billion on three universities and several other schools, a reported N250 billion housing estate when concluded, annual offering and tithes to the tune of N31.2 billion annually, 7million books estimated to have raked in N1billion, 400 buses worth N600 million, N10 billion Goshen City at Abuja and several other ventures have made him a pastor with uncommon grace for prosperity. According to the Wikianswers.com, Bishop Oyedepo is arguably the richest pastor in Africa. The church he founded in 1981 has grown in leaps and bounds. The ministry now has over 2000 satellite branches and present in 60 countries and reportedly boasts of over one million members worldwide and several others via outreaches. The bishop pranced into the Guinness Book of World Records in 2008, when he became the pastor of the largest worship centre in the world, with a sitting capacity of 50,000 and an overflow of 250,000 in Canaanland, Ota, Ogun State. "The international headquarters of Winners Chapel is called Faith Tabernacle. It covers about 70 acres (280,000 m2) and is built inside an over 10,500-acre (42 km2) church complex called Canaanland, the international headquarters of the ministry in Ota, a suburb of Lagos. The building took 12 months to be completed. The foundation laying held on August 29, 1998 and the announcement of the time frame of one year for the building project was announced on September 13, 1998, by Bishop Oyedepo at the Iyana Ipaja church while work began on September 18, 1998. The dedication of the building held on September 19, 1999 with 97,800 faithful in attendance. Faith Tabernacle is presently the largest church building in the world, with a sitting capacity of 50,400 people and an outside overflow capacity of over 250,000, with four services every Sunday. Construction completed in Canaanland till date is estimated to be not less than $600 million (N90 billion) with an additional Canaan City Estate currently under construction which will be the largest housing estate in Africa and easily one of the largest in the world with 15,000 housing units and at a cost of N250 billion or $1.6 billion. This is part of a grander scheme of 150,000 houses to be built by the church." We scooped that he picks an average of N100 million offering and N500 million tithe weekly. The estimate was that if a worshipper pays at least N100 during their four services weekly on Sunday, their over one million members would have paid N100 million. And an average of 500,000 of the worshippers fulfilling their tithes every Sunday with an average of N1,000 is N5 million. But note that even an individual at times paid several millions on a Sunday as tithe," a source divulged. As an educationist, Bishop David Oyedepo's mission currently pioneers the establishment of educational institutions at all levels in and outside Nigeria, including the widely established Hebron or Covenant University with over 7,000 students as well as Faith Academy with 1,500 students both in Canaanland. Covenant University was well documented in a Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) documentary on Nigeria's 50th Independence Anniversary because of landmark achievements in its few years of existence. Covenant University was adjudged the best private university in Nigeria in 2005, and one of the goals of the institution is to be among the best in the world by or before 2020. According to Bishop Oyedepo, "Covenant University is not just an institution, it is a revolution in education." Faith Academy on the other hand placed fourth of all secondary schools in Nigeria during the 2010 Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE). The second university of the church known as Landmark University in Omu Aran, Kwara State, was approved by the Nigerian Government in March 2011 and immediately resumed academic activities the same month with about 1000 students. Construction at Landmark University is estimated to be in the realm of at least $50 million (N7 billion) so far, while Bishop Oyedepo insists that 'spending continues'. Landmark University (LU) has the mandate of spearheading an agrarian revolution in Nigeria. Bishop David Oyedepo stated in August 2010 that it takes a ride of more than 100km to go around the walls of Landmark University. Landmark University is 1,400 acres. The third one under construction is Crown University in Calabar, Cross River State. There are strong plans for about four more universities across Africa including Abuja, Ghana, Democratic Republic of Congo and Kenya as announced by Bishop Oyedepo during Shiloh 2007.  1,000 acres have already been acquired for the university in Ghana, while 300 hectares (about 750 acres) have been acquired for the Congo university and this is going to be a French speaking university. Recently, President Yahya Jammeh of The Gambia appealed to the World Mission Agency (WMA) of the Living Faith Church to build a university in The Gambia. Some other projects that were announced during the initial foundation laying in Canaanland in 1999, include a towering administrative headquarters and a 500 bed hospital among many other projects. Winners' Chapel also runs a chain of about 30 secondary schools and over 50 primary and nursery schools in Nigeria. The secondary schools are known as Faith Academies except those within the universities known as Covenant University and Landmark University Secondary Schools respectively. The nursery and primary schools are known as Kingdom Heritage Model Schools (KHMS). Some of the secondary schools are in Badagry, Iyana Ipaja, Ibadan, Asaba, Kaduna, Ilorin and Osogbo. The mission is presently working on building at least a secondary school each in every country in Africa. The Winners Chapel currently has a Goshen City which is a camp like Canaanland in Abuja and is along kilometre 26, Abuja-Keffi Road. It has an ultra-modern auditorium which accommodates over 15,000 and a secondary school, Faith Academy, a youth centre as well as Kingdom Heritage Model School (nursery and primary) which were all dedicated on October 2, 2010. The auditorium is a replica of the Faith Tabernacle. Goshen is complete with a dual-carriage way running through the 740 acre facility with street lightning as well as a housing estate with over 45 housing units among others and all these were constructed in only 15 months. There are plans for a university to be built in Goshen. Goshen is now the mission headquarters of the Living Faith Church. It is worth over N15 billion. All over Nigeria and Africa, Winners Chapel has a lot of architectural masterpieces which emphasize utility. The use of pillars in their auditorium are de-emphasized as these enable every worshipper to have visual access to the altar. Some of these masterpieces are Faith Tabernacle, Canaanland, Goshen, along Km 26 Abuja-Keffi Expressway, the old site of Winners Chapel in Durumi, Abuja, built in 6 months; Garden of Faith, Kaduna, Winners Chapel, Kano, Winners Chapel, Benue and Winners Chapel, Nairobi (Wonderland), Kenya to mention a few. Winners Chapel, Nairobi is the largest church auditorium in East and Central Africa and the auditorium sits 20,000. Reportedly worth N3.5 billion, it was dedicated in April 20, 2013.  Other assets of the church include four aircraft (Gulfstream 1, 2 and 4 and a Lear jet) currently each of the Gulfsteam worth N8 billion. That's N24 billion while the Lear jet a old one was worth N1billion. During a Powerhouse Meeting in April 1982, David Oyedepo listed seven areas where God had spoken to him concerning the future of the ministry. He stated that, "At the base of the commission will be a tent which will sit 50,000 people". He stated that very soon there will be millions gathering at the base to listen to the gospel. He added that he saw them flying with the gospel on wings which showed that soon the ministry will have her own aircraft. He added that the whole world will soon be able to hear the message of the commission from the base. At that time, the internet as we know it today was not in view. At the inception of the ministry, David Oyedepo got instruction to commit the spoken word into writing with the same measure of proof. This led to the establishment of the Dominion Publishing House which won the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Gold Award in 1996, and has produced over 7 million books till date. Every December, Winners' Chapel holds its annual prophetic gathering, called Shiloh. The annual Shiloh and normal church services at the Faith Tabernacle can be viewed online real time approximately, over 500,000 people attend the Shiloh and if each of them spent at least 2000 at the six days event, that's an average of N1 billion. | EXPOSED! SEE the Borno state Senator Who Buys 400 Golf Cars For Boko Haram Suicide Bombers!! Posted: 16 Jul 2014 11:42 AM PDT  While several people in Nigeria are mourning the death of their loved ones due to incessant terrorists attack, a Senator somewhere in Borno is working full time to make sure the attacks continue. The man in question is Senator Ndume who is currently on trial at an Abuja High Court for empowering Boko Haram through funding and other support. According to PointBlank, investigations have revealed the role allegedly played by Senator Ndume in the death of Major Timothy Fambiya, who led the operation that led to the death of the leader of the Boko Haram sect, Abubakar Shekau. The Nigerian Airforce in Borno State recently bombed Senator Ndume's convoy of vehicles on his way to his village on suspicion that he was attending a meeting with the insurgents. It was gathered that the senator was angered by the deployment of Major Timothy Fambiya, an indigene of Gwoza in Gwoza Local Government Council of Borno State to eradicate the sect members and halt their activities in the area. The area falls within Senator Ndume's Senatorial District and is predominantly Christian. Ndume, a Muslim, could not come to terms with a Christian soldier routing a sect he sympathizes with. He believes a Christian soldier sent to lead the Government forces against the sect is war against Muslims. Although there are many accounts of the circumstances surrounding Shekau's death, he is believed to have been killed in Gwoza Hills by a contingent of Special Forces led by Major A.T. Fambiya. Fambiya is reckoned to be one of the best Special Forces officers in the Nigerian military, who grew up in Gwoza and understood the rocky terrain. Further investigations revealed that it was Major Fambiya that delivered the fatal shot that sent Shakau reeling in Gwoza Hills during a fierce battle but the Boko Haram leader did not die immediately. He was severally moved to Mali and later Cameroon where he gave up the ghost. His aides, who sought to create the impression that he was still alive to sect members, hurriedly buried him. Following Shekau's death, an infuriated Senator Ndume had allegedly contracted the second in command to Major Fambiya, Captain Ibrahim Jamare, to eliminate him. Captain Jamare, who had briefed the Senator on the circumstances surrounding Shakau's shooting, was allegedly paid N60 million by the Senator to eliminate the major. While on a return mission to Gwoza Hills still in search of Shekau, Captain Jamare had shot Major Fambiya at the back of the head while he was observing something with binoculars. The military had in a brief ceremony at the Nigerian Military Cemetary in Abuja declared that Major Fambiya was one of the best special forces officer in Nigeria. "He was killed in action on June 26, 2013 in a fierce encounter with Boko Haram terrorists". The Major's suspicious killing had prompted his brother Iliya Joshua to call on military authorities to investigate the circumstances surrounding his death. Over 400 hundred people including women and children were killed last month in Ngoshe and Atagara by insurgents, who hoisted a flag at the Gwoza Local Government Area. The insurgents disguised as soldiers had called the residents to come out to discuss peaceful co-existence in the area. Unkonwn to the residents, they were surrounded by the insurgents, who opened fire on them killing all that gathered at the village square, who were mostly Christians. The burning of residential houses, churches and schools have continued until a recent deployment of soldiers in the area. Purchase of 400 Golf Cars Security agencies are also working on the lead that Senator Ndume had purchased 400 Golf cars for insurgents disguised as empowerment for his constituents. Golf cars have been used in several bomb explosions in Maiduguri, Yobe, Bauchi, Gombe and Abuja. Further investigations revealed that insurgents and new recruits were offered a golf car or N500,000.00 to procure the vehicles themselves by the senator. The recruitment drive is disguised as one of his constituency empowerment projects. Most of the insurgents are said to have migrated to Abuja and are now domiciled in Waru and Wasa villages, some kilometres from the National Assembly Quarters where they wait to be called upon to carry out car/suicide bombings. | Unknown Gunmen Kidnap a German in Adamawa! Posted: 16 Jul 2014 05:34 AM PDT  Gunmen riding on motorcycles, Wednesday morning, abducted a German in Gombi town of Adamawa State. The incident occurred at about 7 a.m. at Anguwan Faransa area of the town, residents told PREMIUM TIMES. The man, who is said to be the principal of a technical skill acquisition centre in the town, was abducted on his way to work. A resident of the town, who asked not to be named for security reasons, informed us that the man, whose name he gave as Mr. Nachi, is a very popular figure in the town. "The abductors laid siege on his house, and they came on motorcycles. As soon as the man came out and was about to get into his car, two persons on foot approached him and pointed a gun at him. They now called the two other sets of people on motorcycles who approached them and they carried him away on their motorcycle," the witness said. "Almost everybody in this town knows him because he helps us a lot, especially in the area of repairing the town's water bore holes. Most of the time he uses his own money to buy equipment and repair our boreholes," he added. He also said Mr. Nachi trains students on technical and vocational skills free of charge. The German Embassy in Abuja when contacted over the telephone said it was not yet aware of the incident. "The press officer is not yet in, but at this end we are not aware of something like that," an official of the embassy on phone. The embassy also promised to get back with information as soon as it is available. The spokesperson of the police in Adamawa State, Othman Abubakar, who said he was in a meeting and could only communicate via text messages, is yet to respond to an inquiry at the time of this report. | Security operatives arrest Fake Boko Haram Member! Ugwu Lawrence who was tracked by security operatives after dispatching text messages of impending bombings of some hotels in Abuja, confessed that he employed the gimmick because the management of one of the organisation failed to offer him employment. The suspect further confessed that his motive was a ploy to instil fear in the mind of the management's chairman, and pleaded that he is actually not a terrorist. Their coated lips look inviting. No doubt, countless men must have fallen prey to them. Though, their chests were flat which should convince doubting Thomases that the suspects were not women, some still insisted on seeing their private parts due to their looks. But, behind these deceptive looks are more than meets the ordinary eye. The hearts of both Omooba Oyewole and Lawal Kabir are fortified with cold steel. They are suspected dare-devil robbers. If they have conscience, it must be made of solid concrete. One of the suspects, Lawal Kabir whose eyelids blink momentarily like a doll in the old Kingsway Store claims to be a devout Muslim and considers only Fridays and the Ramadan period as sacred days in the whole year when he thinks he should not engage in armed robbery. These days, especially Fridays, he said, he would go to the mosque to pray to God to forgive all his criminal tendencies only to continue his devilish acts thereafter. In fact, the suspect said he was arrested on Friday after observing the Jumat prayers. Given their looks, one needed no soothsayer to discern that the suspects had carried out numerous deadly attacks on their victims even though they admitted to have participated in no fewer than four successful robbery operations. According to them, they had made people cry in places like Osun, Sawmill, Iyana-Agbala and other places when they unleashed terror on them. Knowing their days of reckoning had finally come, the eight-man gang confessed some of the crimes they had committed to Crime Alert. Ayodele Olaitan, who wore a mask, one of the tools they use in their nefarious activities shook his head in regret and told Vanguard "It was my friends that pushed me into this. I joined the gang sometime ago and I have participated in at least three robbery operations.I am not the owner of the mask you see on me. It belongs to one of us called pastor. He is dead now. I regret all my actions. I didn't realize we could be caught. But, now the game is up, " he said as he burst into tears. Like other criminals, Lawal Kabir said he was pushed into the criminal world as a result of an unsuccessful business venture. "I took to robbery when my plumbing work was not booming.Three years after my freedom as an apprentice, I tried all I could to make both ends meet, but things did not work for me. I first stayed in Lagos before I later came to Ibadan where I was introduced to a gang of armed robbers. I have participated in four armed robbery attacks.I went with them to Osun State, Ibadan, Sawmill and Iyana -Agbala. I was arrested on Friday after I finished praying in the mosque. Somebody we call a pastor,also a member of the gang called me without knowing the police had already arrested him. I don't rob on Fridays and during Ramadan. I used those periods to pray to God to forgive me my sins. I know what I was doing was wrong but it was difficult for me to break away from it." Another member of the gang, Biola Alaba who wore a weave-on hairdo said they were eight in number and that they were arrested at a drinking joint while preparing to carry out a robbery operation at Bodija area of the city. He denied ever killing any of their victims. "How can I commit two sins at the same time. I cannot rob and kill at the same time. It is unfair to rob someone of his belongings and kill him. We don't even rape our victims, " As for Sunday Omooba from Ogbomoso who says he is a member of the Oodua Peoples Congress, OPC, he narrated how he took charge of the armoury for the gang "I helped them get bullets through one man. I just call the man any time I need bullets for the gang.I don't rob with them. In fact, I did not know that they were using the bullets to rob. I also supplied that pump action gun to them. I bought the gun for N70,000 from a friend. If I knew that they would use the weapons for robbery, I would not give them." The Investigating Police Officer in charge of the case alleged that Omooba supplied the pump action gun and killed the owner of the gun so that he could get the gun from him and did not give the money he promised to give him. Panic struck Amakohia Ubi community in Owerri West Council Area of Imo State on Monday, as a five-month-old baby boy slipped from the hands of his minder, a 10-year-old girl, who was being chased by a masquerade and fell inside a large boiling pot of soup. An eye witness told our correspondent that the 10-year-old girl, who also suffered severe injuries, was fleeing from one of the " Owu" masquerades that had chased her in front of a house while carrying the deceased toddler and as she ran to the back of the house, she stumbled and the toddler slipped from her hands and fell into a pot of soup being prepared by a food vendor. According to the witness, the masquerade, on realising the havoc caused, took to his heels. However, efforts to revive the baby proved abortive as the baby was pronounced dead by a doctor, after some good Samaritans rushed him to a nearby hospital. When NEWS MEN visited the scene, parents of the deceased baby were still in a state of shock and refused to speak to the press as sympathisers besieged their residence. The Amakohia masquerade festival also known as "Owu" is the most dreaded festival in Owerri West Council as it is characterised by display of charms, constant flogging and harassment. Meanwhile, the festival, which normally lasts a month, has been temporarily suspended as a result of the incident. Adepero Oduye American actress Adepero Oduye might not quickly ring a bell but she featured in hit movie '12 Years A Slave' alongside British-Nigerian actor Chiwetel Ejiofor. Adepero Oduye is born to Nigerian parents from Yoruba tribe. She played Alike in Pariah (2011), TV series, Law & Order amongst others. Hollywood actress Hope Olaide Wilson was born on August 16, 1985, to Nigerian parents from the Yoruba tribe.
