| Mom and Her Two Pregnant Daughters Widowed After Husbands Die in Plane Crash Posted: 16 Jul 2014 06:25 PM PDT  A mom and two daughters who should be celebrating both sisters having babies the same year are instead mourning the loss of their husbands and their father in a freak plane crash accident. It happened last week in California. Doug Symiczek, 49, Jacob Griffiths, 32, and Kyle Parton, 29, were killed on July 6 after their single-engine plane crashed near Los Angeles. The men reportedly took a quick early morning trip on Symiczek's plane from French Valley to Corona Airport but were planning on returning in time for breakfast. Unfortunately, the small plane's engine failed, they hit some trees, and crashed into the mountains before ending up in Lake Elsinore.    Symiczek had been piloting planes since the early '90s and wife of almost 30 years, Kim, called her husband the "best pilot ever" and said that he and her sons-in-law were "the most amazing men." It's unbelievable to think that, in a split second, so many lives were forever changed. Parton's 3-year-old son is left without a dad. Breanna, who gave birth to a girl named Trulee Parton on July 13, is suddenly a single mom. And Griffith's wife, Amanda, who is set to give birth to their first baby in a few months, will also be doing so without her partner in life. Friends of the family have set up a gofundme.com page so they can help raise money to pay for funeral and childcare expenses. This is just so sad!         | ||

In this case, I think some people have watched too many SVUs and CSIs, and will panic at the littlest thing when it comes to children. Many commentators are against the arrest of Debra Lynn Harrell, who was charged on Monday after she left her 9-year-old daughter to play in a park while she was at work. But is 9 years too young to be left alone at home or in a busy park? The news called the little girl neglected, and authorities said the mother has abandoned her child. I think they are exagerrating. Should this be a crime? What do you think? Below is the whole gist of the matter... - Debra Harrell works at a McDonald's in North Augusta, South Carolina. According to this report, the woman noticed a small black girl playing at the park around 9:30 a.m. Monday morning but did not notice an adult in the area. She left the park to go to work, but then the little girl was still at the park when she got off of work. The woman said she asked the little girl where her parents was, and the little girl reportedly told her that her mother dropped her off at the park in the morning before going to work. Adding that she is dropped off all the time to play at the park while her mother is at work. When the woman asked the little girl what she eats for lunch, the girl said the "Feed A Child" people come by or she walks over to McDonalds in Wal-Mart where her mom works. The woman then called the police and after repeating her story, the child was taken to NADPS headquarters. Afterwards, the Department of Social Services (DSS) took custody of her. The mother, Debra Harrell was contacted by officers and, once she arrived, was questioned and confessed to have left her child. She was then arrested and charged with Unlawful Conduct Towards a Child.      | ||

| Diner Finds Cockroach in His Food, Waitress Eats it To Prove It's Edible and Normal Posted: 16 Jul 2014 02:02 PM PDT  A waitress has shocked diners at the restaurant in China where she worked by picking up a dead cockroach from a customer's plate and eating it right it in front of them. The bizarre incident began when a man, Zhang Yen, went to a restaurant in Sichuan and found a cockroach in his food. When Zhang complained about the cockroach, Jin Kuo, the waitress, engaged him in a heated argument, telling him it was very normal to find a cockroach in restaurant food. She said; 'No matter which restaurant you go to, you will always find cockroaches in the food. It is very normal.'It was at this point that one of the people who was with Zhang grabbed his mobile phone and started to video the incident. Zhang told her that if it was so normal, she should eat it to show it was part of the food, and then there would be no need to argue further. Immediately, she picked the cockroach off the side of his plate, put it into her mouth and swallowed it. A speechless Zhang paid for the meal shortly after. The restaurant owner then apologized to Zhang and said that she would punish the staff by reducing her salary (we conversely think a raise is in order). The owner explained that the cockroach might've been blown into the dish by the hot gas while cooking. Due to the sincerity of the restaurant owner, Zhang did not hold them liable.   Some of the commentators who viewed the video on social media sites said the waitress should have been given a pay rise. I say she should be fired. Such poor customer service! The Shangaist says this is not the first time a restaurant staff has tried to defuse a hygiene row by eating the evidence. In May, a restaurant manager ate a condom after customers found it in their fish dish. He had rejected their claim it was a condom and insisted it was a ring of calamari and ate it to prove the point.      | ||

| Man Who Sends Fake Threats of Boko Haram Attacks Using Text Messages Arrested In Abuja Posted: 16 Jul 2014 01:16 PM PDT  Who has not received one of these messages? I know I have, and continue to receive them on my BBM too from contacts who feel they are being helpful. The State Security Services (SSS) operatives in Abuja have arrested a man who specializes in sending out text messages threatening attack by Boko Haram terrorists thereby creating panic in the populace. The DefenceHQ reports that the suspect is still undergoing further interrogation preparatory to prosecution. Meanwhile, the suspect, Ugwu Lawrence who was tracked by security operatives after dispatching text messages of impending bombings of some hotels in Abuja confessed that he employed the gimmick because the management of one of the organisation failed to offer him employment. He also confessed that his motive was a ploy to instil fear in the mind of the management's chairman, and pleaded that he is actually not a terrorist. Please people, let us be more careful about sending these messages. Creating panic or punishing a business unnecessarily is playing into the hands of the real Boko Haram.      | ||

| Prophetess Kills Boy, Lands His Brothers in Hospital With Fake Spiritual Cleansing Drink Posted: 16 Jul 2014 11:52 AM PDT  A prophetess has been arrested by the police in Ondo State for allegedly causing the death of a 10-year-old boy after she gave him a poisonous substance to drink. It is reported that the mother of the deceased boy had taken him and his siblings to the prophetess for spiritual cleansing and she had given them the drink. The two other siblings of the deceased who also took the substance administered by the prophetess are currently in hospital. Ironically, the prophetess had told them that taking the spiritual holy water would free them from any food poisoning, spiritual attack and bad dreams. The police say that the prophetess prepared and gave the substance to her clients, which the mother gave to her three children to drink. However, when they showed up, nobody wanted Annabelle and her mother began to ask directly. I don't know how I feel about this, it sounds romantic, but I imagine being forced or shamed by this mom to have a strange little girl as part of a private ceremony like a wedding. According to NBC, the mother decided to become aggressive after people paid them little attention. "We stood there and she held up her sign and people walked past and would smile but no one came up to her. I said, 'I think we're going to have to ask people.'" Annabelle, who wore a rose-print dress and white lace gloves, and held the rose flowers her mother had bought for the occasion, surveyed the couples, chose one and approached with the proposal. In his "Dear Gail" letter, Phillips said he's been checking brides' photos every Sunday since their June 27, 1953, wedding but haven't found anyone as pretty as his bride. Phillips, who had a triple bypass last fall, concludes his note by telling his 79-year-old wife he hopes to celebrate another 61 years with her, and "beyond that I pray we will spend eternity together." Diagnosed 10 years ago, the 34-year-old Tanzanian model finally went public with her condition last March on the World Endometriosis Month. She tells Radiant Health in their latest edition about living with endometriosis, being silenced by the taboo and stigma that comes with difficult health challenges, and finally finding her voice with the example of actress Rita Dominic. Millen has had several miscarriages, had her ovary pack up, lost some of her fallopian tube, and in February, she faced her fears and underwent an IVF cycle so that some of her still surviving eggs could be retrieved and saved, a chance for her to have biological children in the future. Though she knows the magnitude of speaking out about health conditions to do with sex or infertility, Millen Magese is adamant about the need to raise awareness, even if it is just to help one other woman. | 19 Pregnant Young Girls Blame Poverty and No Parental Care For Using Abia Baby Factory Posted: 16 Jul 2014 12:02 AM PDT  Another baby factory located at Umunkpeyi in Isiala Ngwa South Local Government of Abia state was raided and no fewer than 19 pregnant young women were rescued. The police, women affairs ministry and wife of the state governor Mercy Odochi Orji have been informed about the rescue operation. A lot of the pregnant ladies who complained that they had not been fed in two days, blame the condition on poverty and lack of parental care. The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Abia State Command, helped track down this location. A well recognized hospital in the state was demolished for the involvement in the illegal trading of babies for money. The rescued girls and workers in the baby factory were paraded for the press. Apart from the pregnant ladies, 3 babies – all aged two, were also rescued. An officer of the NSCDC revealed to reporters that the operators keep young women with unwanted pregnancies, and later sell them as soon as they are delivered. The owner of the factory is presently at large. According to reports, the owner also arranges men to impregnate young girls and when the babies are delivered, the young ladies are given "peanuts".
