Breaking news report on Vanguard,Wednesday night, a bomb-laden car went off at Folawiyo Fuel Depot close to a Petrol Tank Farm at Creek Road, Apapa, Lagos around 8.30 this evening. The eye-witness said the explosion came from a Benz car parked right beside a LPG tanker. At the time of this report, it was gathered that not less than four people were feared dead in the blast and it cannot be confirmed if the blast was a suicide attack

Frank Mba, has confirmed that 21 people died this afternoon when a bomb went off at the very busy Emab Plaza in Wuse 2, Abuja. He also confirmed that 17 people were seriously injured and have been taken to Maitama District Hospital, Gwarimpa hospital, Wuse hospital, Garki hospital and National hospital.

Mr Mba said one suspect has been arrested and investigations have already started. The bomb is said to have gone off in a car as it passed through the gate of the mall around 4 this afternoon. The fire that followed the explosion is said to have engulfed most of the cars parked around the mall.

Security Forces have condoned off the scene of the blast, while the Police Bomb Disposal Squad has commenced post-blast analysis as part of the general investigative process, according to a statement.

The attack is believed to have been carried out by a suicide bomber though there are other conflicting reports from some eye-witnesses that a man on a bike threw the explosive and sped off. Though no group has claimed responsibility for the attack, we all can kinda guess. See more photos after the cut..

This is totally unacceptable.
A police officer identified as Aurthur Okeke with force No: 453255 was caught on tape violently attacking a heavily pregnant woman in Bar Beach in Lagos. The woman is said to be in a very bad shape as a result of her pregnancy and she is now in hospital.
The video was recorded by a scared passenger before Arthur Okeke pulled the pregnant woman out of the bus. One of the source at the scene say the woman's offence was because the policeman wanted her to vacate her front seat position for him as a policeman.
This is nothing but brutality of the highest order!

An explosion has occurred at a major shopping mall, Emab plaza, in Wuse 2, Abuja.

A witness said the explosion occurred at about 4pm.

Emaba Plaza is a busy shopping mall in the highbrow area of
Nigeria's capital city, on Aminu kano crescent.

The explosion apparently occurred at the gate of the busy plaza..many cars are still ablaze. Emergency workers are still arriving the scene.

It is no longer news that two heavyweights in the Yoruba movie industry, Adebayo Salami (Oga Bello), and Sunday Omobolanle (Aluwe) have been in a cold war for some time now.

Even though some of the key industry stakeholders have tried to settle their differences, not much were achieved before now. It was said that both fell out while they were both in the Ojo Ladipo Theatre Group.

But at the wedding ceremony of Oga Bello's daughter, Lara, which was held on Saturday, June 21, 2014, the two front-line actors used the occasion to shake hands with each other as they were seen chatting and making jest of each other.

This surprised some people at the event, especially those aware of the age-long rift between them. No doubt, it is a great move and they have been commended for that.

A bride-to-be Collette Moreno, 26(in light blue) was killed in a car crash minutes after taking the selfie above with her best friend. Moreno and Ashley Theobald, also 26, who were going to her bachelorette party and listening to Taylor Swift without a care in the world when they got stuck behind trucks with fumes. According to kctv5 news,Ashley who survived said..

"She has really bad asthma and there were a few trucks in front of us that had really bad exhausts and she was coughing, so I was like, 'OK, we have to pass these.We both thought it was clear and there was a hill that neither one of us saw.I tried to go around and there was a truck coming and I swerved and he swerved with me."

Theobald was taken to the hospital and treated for minor injuries.But Moreno, who was wearing her seat belt, was taken to a Columbia hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.

"I was talking to her. She couldn't talk back but she was nodding at me,I didn't know it was as bad as it was, because she wasn't physically super beaten-up."

Her wedding was in four week and her fiancee is devastated..She also left behind a son...

How Taiwo Hassan Ogogo recovered from his strange sickness! [PHOTO]

Veteran yoruba movie star, Taiwo Hassan aka Ogogo has fully recovered and gained back his weight which he lost many months ago after battling a strange sickness which almost took his life.
Today, Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo has bounced back and is doing even better than when he had the unfortunate break.
After quitting the social scene for a while, the actor was recently spotted at Oga Bello's daughter wedding. Thank God he is healthy now!
He spoke about the illness in a not-so-recent interview below:

"May such sickness not come near us again...Let me put it as all things come from Allah. At times, you may be thinking that you are doing the wrong thing and God might say you are right and verse versa. Everybody has his or her trying period, only that you won't know when God will try you. But according to my own faith, both good and bad cometh from God while the terrestrial powers are also there to carry out their wicked acts, if you say there is no terrestrial power, you are deceiving yourself. All you have to do is be prayerful. Throughout my illness, I did not think negatively, all my thoughts concerning the outcome of the sickness were positive. I was not the only sick person in the world at that time but I guess it became celebrated due to the nature of my job.
During this period, I received series of calls, there was a time a call came through and the man at the other end asked if I was Ogogo and I said yes and the man shouted that this Ogogo speaking will not die and he started praying for me. That person called all the way from Ado-Ekiti. Even in Lagos, the noise was everywhere that I was dead but I give God all the glory that all the noise and cries were not over my corpse but they were voices raised to God for my survival.
A lot of people have often asked why do women love Ogogo and I always tell them that it depends on the perspective from which they are looking at it, because as far as I am concerned, I am loved by both sexes through what I am doing. Whether I am good or bad at home nobody cares to know, it is what I do on screen that matters.
A lot of reasons were adduced for your illness; some said it was cocaine that got bust in your stomach while others said you were afflicted with the dreaded AIDS disease. What exactly was the nature of your illness?
I never gave it a thought because I had known that as a celebrity, lots of reasons would be adduced as to the cause of my illness. Despite all lies fabricated against Jesus Christ, and even Prophet Mohammed, God vindicated them, so who am I that people won't talk about, let them talk. I have never seen cocaine before in my life, to God who made me. Or is it a crime for one to travel abroad?
You know there were stories going round that most artistes are being used as courier for drug barons.
I have never seen it before; all I know was that when we go abroad, our fans do appreciate us. Some will pray for you, some will give you gifts, some will even beg you to follow them to the nearest cash point to give you money. There was a time I traveled out with Yinka Quadri, carrying just one small bag. I came back with nine bags, and even left some with a friend, Sound Image, in the United Kingdom.
Our fans always stand by us, they appreciate us a lot. I was amazed when we got to Dele Momodu's house and the children greeted us traditionally. Funny enough, he speaks Yoruba to them at home. He was the first person that launched our movies with big cash. I don't want to mention figures here but at the end of the day, the four of us that went to the UK came home with nothing less than 5,000 pounds, so imagine coming to Nigeria with such money and bags, they will immediately conclude we are into drugs.
A woman ran into us and begged that she doesn't have much on her that in two days time, she would be back for us and truly, she went to Italy and came back with beautiful pairs of shoes for me and Yinka. That shoe is still at home. I don't throw things like that away. Is it Mama Islar, Sati Rahmon or Banke Kitchen and Stores, who is God-sent to me? When I was sick, she would call all the way from London and ask me to get someone to drive me to the bank as she would raise money on my behalf in London and send it to me. She will reel out the names of all the donors and how much each person gave. God will continue to guide her. I believe I don't have a mother but there are some God-sent mothers surrounding me. What about Mama Oyo? I know her from nowhere, she came to my office and told me she wanted to say hi but on leaving, she would drop some money for me. God was able to let me know that even with my critical condition then, I never lacked. I was down, not working; yet, I was able to take care of the home front. I pay my children's school fees. I can't exhaust the list if I should start calling names of people that God sent to me during my trying period. When I saw the amount of money Alhaja Salawa Abeni gave me, I burst into tears, she consoled me by asking if I won't do more if I found her in such a condition.
You are a twin, are you the only twin in your family?
No, we are four sets of twins but the others did not survive.
Even your surname, Hassan means Taiwo.
Yes, only that I don't want to go by the name, Taiwo Taiwo, it was one of my Alfas that do call me Al Hassan and I like the name, so I told my father that I would adopt the name, Hassan Babatunde Taiwo.
During your trying period, what role did your friends play?
They tried their best

But you should know that when things like this happen, series of things would be said, even between a husband and his wife. People went as far as telling me that my sickness from somebody very close to me; like cloth to the skin; won't you think it may be your wife or your best friend? But if you are a believer, you only need to commit everything to God Almighty. I have no other person than God, if anything is troubling me, all I need do is perform my ablution and talk to Him. As one grows older, one needs to also get closer to God.
How old are you now.
I am over 50 years now.
You were able to reclaim your position after your recovery at a very swift pace…
I don't know o, it's just God that did that, not me. Let's just give him all the thanks. And if that is causing any bad blood again, the people concerned should please also work hard, so that they too will succeed at a very swift pace, as you have said.
You also had your first baby boy after your recovery
Yes, it is true, his name is Alleed. It's not that I don't have a baby boy, then but we lost him.
I also learnt he is from another woman
Yes.
But do you remember telling me that the fact that your wife had only girls for you doesn't mean you would marry a second wife to give you a male child, what happened?
Honestly, I was on the point till this happened. At my age, no one will beat me for whatever it is that I do, but, whatever God says will surely be. I can't deny a pregnancy I know and I'm convinced that I am responsible for because of one thing or the other. What if the same thing happens to one of my daughters, how will I feel? I have daughters and I wouldn't want anything negative to happen to them. At that time, breaking the news to my wife was my main concern and I did not send anybody to her. I called her myself and explained to her and she saw that it wasn't intentional but rather destined that such would happen. I also told my second wife to take my first wife as her mum and accord her all the respect she deserve.
Your roles in movies portray you as a home builder, is this deliberate?
That is what I believe we can be teaching ourselves. I am closer to 'alfas' and I know that some women are beyond mere women, same with men. They don't give a damn about anything, they will impregnate a woman and move on to the next one, without caring for her and the woman will suffer alone to nurse the baby; the same way we have women who move from one man to the other. So back to the question, I just see it that I am doing what God has sent me to do in this world.

The actress who tied the knot in January 2012 welcomed her first child on the 22nd of June (yesterday).
Confirming the news, Jide Kosoko who couldn't hide his excitement said 'As expected, I am very excited and I feel blessed too. I can's but thank God for his blessings in my life as well as my children and their families."
The baby is Jide Kosoko's seventh grandchild.

The 73-year-old icon proved she is still the s*x goddess she has been dubbed for over 5 decades, as she stepped out for a dinner with her close pal Alana at the Craig restaurant in West Hollywood on Monday night, flaunting her hour glass figure! Raquel, who has been married four times, is also a mother of two, reveals, she maintains her physique, by doing cardio, Yoga and weight training and no plastic surgery. She recently told the folks on Cinema.com saying;

'For a start I do yoga every day, 6 days a week. If I'm not shooting and have to get up at some ungodly hour, I usually get up at 6am and do my yoga stretches first and my breathing, then I'm ready for the rest of the action which is about 45 minutes of cardio and weight training.
'So I put in almost two hours every day, 6 days a week, and I love it. It makes me feel great, I'm very energized, and I swear by it. I think if you don't use it, you lose it.'

The police said there was no casualty.

A bomb explosion has occurred at Kasuwan Kuturu market in Mubi area of Adamawa State.

The News Agency of Nigeria quotes the Adamawa Commissioner of Police, John Abakasanga, as saying the explosion targeted a police patrol team.

He said there was no casualty from the blast.

Adamawa is one of the three states under emergency rule due to the activities of the Boko Haram insurgents.

PunchNg reports that, Senate President, David Mark who led the Federal Government delegation to the World Cup in Brazil got a bit of the bitter side of the Super Eagles player when he tried to settle the rift between them and NFF officials.

It was gathered that Mark held a meeting with them before the Iran match which ended 0-0, where the players demanded the country's third man, David Mark to pay them $2m instantly from the $8m they were expecting from FIFA for the first round matches, since he was representing the President.

The report said, Mark later got angry when he couldn't settle the differences and was shocked at the amount the players requested for and the way they responded to him.

Keshi later apologised to him when he saw that the boys were rude to him, but his apology was received half-heartedly.

The FIFA money fight is a carry over from their USA camp as they had put the NFF on notice over the money before agreeing to board the flight to Brazil.

It will also be recalled that the players last year arrived in Brazil late for the FIFA Confederations Cup after embarking on a strike in Namibia over the same thing, match bonus.

University of Ibadan expels 78 students!

The Senate of the University of Ibadan has approved the withdrawal of 78 students from the institution for failing to obtain the minimum academic requirements for the 2012/2013 academic session.

The expelled students were at various levels from 100 to 400 and came from 13 faculties.

A breakdown of the students indicated that six of them gained admission into the university through the Direct Entry mode, 66 through University Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UTME, while six also entered the university through UME.

A release signed by the Registrar of the institution, Mr. Olujimi Olukoya and made available to journalists in Ibadan yesterday, said the university will continue to uphold the highest standards in global scholarship.

Well, R.Kelly may know that his daughter now calls herself a boy but he's definitely having difficulty coming to terms with it. When asked about it during an interview at the WCGI Summer Jam this week, R.Kelly shut the reporter up when he referred to Jaya as his son.

Authorities in Iran banned women from entering most sporting events following the 1979 Islamic Revolution because mixed crowds enjoying games was deemed un-Islamic.

According to CNN, for the past 35 years, the crowds at football games, Iran's most popular sport have been all male.Iranian women were briefly allowed to attend volleyball matches during the presidency of moderate Mohammad Khatami but the ban was reinstated in 2005 when Mahmoud Ahmadinejad came to power.
In an apparent effort to avoid mixed crowds watching this year's World Cup, authorities warned restaurants not to broadcast games.The president of the Coffee Shop Owners Union told ISNA news agency that

"We have told our members that during the World Cup games they must either turn the TV off or switch to a channel which is not broadcasting the games."

Stephen Keshi blasts Nigerian fans& his fellow former football stars! (SEE WHY)

According to a Vanguard reporter who spoke with Stephen Keshi in Brazil, the Super Eagles coach is angry at Nigerian fans for abusing him over the team's performance at the on-going World Cup in Brazil. Keshi said there was absolutely no justification for fans to insult him and his family.

"It's a shame, just a shame that we keep doing the same thing and then they come back and they say they are sorry. Sorry for abusing my mum? Sorry for abusing my siblings? For what? That I am representing Nigeria?"

"I am disappointed, totally disappointed (by the personal attacks), but it's their thing, no wahala (no problem).

Keshi also lambasted his fellow former football stars who have criticized his team and his tactics in Brazil, saying he had expected much better from them as they ought to know better about the game than the man on the street.

NDLEA arrests 7 girls and for 4 boys in Junior Secondary school over drug abuse and trafficking

7 girls and for 4 boys in Junior Secondary school and a hotel manager were recently arrested in Kaduna by officials of the Kaduna State National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, after being caught in a hotel taking Psychotropic substances.

NDLEA Kaduna State Commander, Mohammed Jibrin made this revelation at The International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking programme which held in Kaduna yesterday, June 24th.

Mr Jibrin said the students comprising of seven girls and four boys were arrested following a tip off, adding that eight of the students arrested were still in Junior Secondary school. He said parents of the students arrested have been invited for questioning and counseling while the hotel manager is still under investigation.

Toyin Aimakhu in a new interview with Punch has defended the photos of her family that she always posts on social media, even adding that this was just the beginning.

For instance, she recently posted a picture of her husband helping her relax her hair, thus giving the world a peep into their intimate experiences at home. Only for the post to attract some crazy comments Toyin says were not surprising to her.
She told Punch:

People will always have something to say. If my husband was beating me up, then some people pretending to be women right activists have their partners pummel them at any given opportunity. Some people want what you have but when they can't have it they just 'bad-mouth' you. I sometimes read comments about me online when I'm bored because they crack me up.

There's no way I can ever stop putting out our pictures on social media because we are both in the industry. If people don't talk about us, how do we make money? How do we get jobs? Because he is a caring husband, the consensus is that I have jazzed him. I wanted my hair blown out because I wanted to fix a weave-on and he offered to do it. I have been using Ozone relaxer for ages and can't stop using it because other kits do not work for me. They still have a lot to talk about because this is just a tip of the iceberg."

So, has marriage been all rosy for her? Letting out a smile, Aimakhu, who is the youngest child in a family of five, says she set her priorities right even though it comes with a huge price.

"I have lost some jobs as a result of my marital status but it is worth it because you can't buy a good home or compare it to anything in this world. You can always get another job after you lose one. But once you lose your home it is difficult to get another good home.

I take up controversial roles wisely and can no longer go the extra mile with male colleagues on set or take up bitchy roles. My husband can take up any role and he knows how to handle them. My man is very decent and does whatever he feels is right. After all, location is location while home is home," she says
