She supports her husband the president, without being over exposed in her own duties. And she is always elegantly turned out, choosing clothes that suit her and are ver modest in taste and price. Here are some of the pictures of the first lady this past week. The picture above was tagged; "The First Lady closes the Summit on Working Families by sitting down with @RobinRobertsGMA to talk about her own experience as a working mother. #FamiliesSucceed" See more pictures of the first lady performing her duties with grace and aplomb.

I am a fan of Greys and often they get me tears with their music soundtrack. Now I'm wondering which episode has this song? Sam Smith's take on what is normally a dance track is simply awesome!

"At my worst point, I wasn't able to play tennis at all," says Williams. "Just the whole quality of my life was compromised. You are so tired it hurts. You have to accept that you're never going to be 100 percent." Williams, who was forced to stop playing for more than six months in 2011-12 because of the illness, reveals in the interview how she got her body in shape for the magazine's nude photoshoot and how she was able to work her way back up the rankings. Oh man, this is the real deal. It didn't dawn on me until right when I walked on set that I would have to be without clothes. If I would have thought about it before, there may have been a little less of a chance. Read More - ESPN

| Robin Thicke Apologizes to Paula Patton With Get Her Back Music Video, But Is it Right? Posted: 23 Jun 2014 12:46 PM PDT Robin Thicke has released the music video for his single "Get Her Back," and both the lyrics and the video seem to refer to the estrangement between Robin Thicke and his wife Paula Patton. The new video has hit social media and of course, people have gone into camps about it. Some are team TakeHimBack and others want Paula to do what she wants to do and not be moved by the public drama that Robin Thicke has been heaping on the breakup. Some of the lyrics for "Get Her Back" reads as follows; All I wanna do In the video, Robin Thicke has bruises and blood on his face and there are flashes of text that appear on the screen as if it's a a real conversation between Robin Thicke and Paula. I really hope it's not munched text between the couple, but check out some of them below... "I kept trying to warn you that you were pushing me too far" If indeed these are real conversations, then I think Robin Thicke is beginning to cross the line from romantic to psychologically manipulative. What do you think? | ||||||
| 13 Year Old Nigerian Boy Dies After He Tried to Save Drowning Girl Posted: 23 Jun 2014 10:04 AM PDT 13 year old Ricky Osagie, a Nigerian boy living in Dublin Ireland died after trying to save a girl who was drowning in a lake at their residential complex. Ricky and another girl had gone into the water to save the other girl who was having trouble swimming. Paramedics arrived shortly after the accident at 6.15pm and all three teenagers were taken from the water. But witnesses claimed Ricky had been under water "for at least 10 minutes" before he was found. According to Irish Mirror, Ricky Osagie was a teenage soccer sensation whose dream was to represent Ireland, his distraught father, Kelly Osagie told the Sunday Irish Mirror. He said Ricky was a hero because he knew he was risking his life when he went into the water as he couldn't swim. "He was trying to help someone else. That's what happened. My son died a hero. He went in and then that was it. My son is gone but a girl is alive because of him. He always smiled and was happy all the time. He was such a fantastic footballer. We have trophies everywhere in the house. Ricky was going to play for Ireland, that's what he said he was going to do. He had so many friends. He is a hero, a real hero. I want the world to know what my son did. He was a man." This is such a sad story, my heart goes out to his family and young friends. He was indeed a true hero. May his soul rest in peace. Amen. | ||||||
| Sudanese Christian Woman Freed After Appeal Court Rejects Death Sentence For Apostasy Posted: 23 Jun 2014 09:00 AM PDT Meriam Yehya Ibrahim, the Sudanese woman who had been sentenced to death for Apostasy has been freed. Meriam has been reunited with her husband after getting out of custody, said her lawyer, Mohaned Mustafa El-Nour. An appeals court found that an initial judgment against her was faulty, he said. Ibrahim gave birth to a girl in a prison in the capital of Sudan last month, two weeks after she was sentenced to 100 lashes and to die by hanging. Her husband, Daniel Wani, uses a wheelchair and "totally depends on her for all details of his life," her lawyer said. She was in the women's prison with her 20-month-old son, but Sudanese officials said the toddler was free to leave at any time, according to her lawyer. Ibrahim was convicted of apostasy, or the renunciation of faith, and sentenced to die by hanging in May while she was eight months pregnant. In addition to the death sentence, the court convicted her of adultery and sentenced her to 100 lashes. Her sentence had drawn international condemnation from rights groups and foreign embassies in Khartoum, including those of the United States, United Kingdom and Canada. [Read here] Christian or Muslim? Ibrahim says her father was a Sudanese Muslim and her mother was Ethiopian Orthodox. Her father left when she was 6, and she was raised as a Christian. The court had warned her to renounce her Christianity by May 15, but she held firm to her beliefs. Sudanese Parliament speaker Fatih Izz Al-Deen said claims that Ibrahim was raised as non-Muslim are untrue. She was raised in an Islamic environment, and her brother, a Muslim, filed the complaint against her, according to Al-Deen. The complaint alleged that she went missing for several years, and her family was shocked to find out she married a Christian, according to her lawyer. However, because her father was Muslim, the courts considered her one too, which would mean her marriage to a non-Muslim man is void. Via CNN | ||||||
| 2Face Idibia Sues Tabloid For Libel - Wants N100 Million in Damages Posted: 23 Jun 2014 08:16 AM PDT 2face Idibia has instituted a N100million suit against soft-sell magazine, Icon Weekly, which had alleged that 2face committed adultery by getting a 'Lagos top banker' pregnant. The banker who the magazine said worked at one of the new generation banks and was 2face's account officer, had in the report insisted that 2face was the father of her unborn baby and said she had every intention of keeping the baby. Though 2face denied the allegations, it went viral with many bloggers and commentators choosing to believe the magazine and the unknown Teniola. Here on RML, we chose to take 2Face at his word [Read here]. A source close to 2Face said the story, which was found to be false, made 2face lose a very lucrative deal and caused ripples between him and his wife. A Media/Entertainment Law Firm has therefore filed libel proceedings on behalf of 2face, at the Ikeja High Court asking the court to award their client the sum of N100million being damages for the libelous publication posted on the magazine's online and print platforms. Icon weekly is said to have approached 2face's team for discussions on a possible out of court settlement. | ||||||

| Pictures - Jillian Michaels Poses Nude For Shape Magazine: 40 Is The New 20 Posted: 23 Jun 2014 04:04 AM PDT Biggest Loser trainer Jillian Michaels covers the July/August issue of Shape Magazine, and inside, she goes nude to showcase her ripped body at 40. The only exercise DVD I've been using for a while now has been the Biggest Loser boot camp compilation, so I kind of know how hard core Jillian is. And to think she's 40, I'll get there someday, lol.... Jillian Michaels has two kids with partner Heidi Rhoades, daughter Lukensia, 4, and son Phoenix, 2. The couple adopted their baby girl the same week Rhoades gave birth to their son in May 2012. Continue reading for excerpts and some pictures. Jillian Michaels tells Shape magazine about turning 40 and her best part of her body, and why she does what she does. "I won't lie. This birthday was hard, but when I think back on my 20s and 30s, I look better now than I ever have. It's important for women to have overall strength, because when you feel physically powerful, it transcends into every facet of your life." "My best reason for having strong arms is because I love to pick up my kids. Metaphorically speaking, it means I can carry a lot of responsibility on my shoulders -- and I do -- for my family, friends, and fans." "There are so many good reasons to exercise. It doesn't matter how profound or superficial your motives are, as long as it's something that matters to you." "My abs are the best part of my body. I know I'm lucky because when I'm in decent shape overall they tend to get toned very quickly. Having a strong core gives you a solid foundation and helps with injury prevention, which is critical to good health. Do I want a better butt? Sure, but I'm healthy and can wear my skinny jeans, and that's good enough!" "Yes, I'm older, but I'm also wiser, and that's a more intrinsic type of beauty." | ||||||
| 5 Practical Tips on How to Manage Money in Marriage Posted: 23 Jun 2014 03:08 AM PDT Whether it's before or after marriage, cash can cause a lot of trouble. Should it be my money, your money or our money? A recent survey states that more couples now prefer to have separate bank accounts. Is this a healthy trend? Most experts think it is, as long as they pitch in equal amount for household expenses. Here's how you can sort your cash worries: 1. Give you partner a clear indication of what you expect out of him/her every month - This is especially for the women or the man if he is the home manager. Draw up a budget and both of you agree on it before the start of every month. If a month is going to be different from any of the others, maybe it's back to school or getting ready for Christmas, be sure to point that out. 2. Try to work out a system - The system could be for who does most of the shopping and pays the bills, or it could be about who makes sure the bank accounts are balanced. In our house, the latter is done by Atala and I take care of most of the bills, if they are not automatic already. 3. Be flexible in case of a cash crunch - This might mean you both agreeing to put aside an equal amount for savings every month. By doing this, you always have a buffer in your savings account for those times when the earners are not bringing in as much as before, like if the husband or wife loses their job or side gig. 4. Don't hide debts from each other - Nothing much to add to this one, I believe it is clear enough. Here in America, some of the ways people rack up debts are through buying a house or other high-price items, school debt, and more. Be open about this and get your partner's buy in on how the debt will be paid off. 5. Plan your short-term and long-term goals - Do you want to go on vacations every year or twice a year? Do you want to retire early and travel when you do? Which schools will your children attend, can you afford the fees? These are some of the questions to answer together. ________ Top Relationship articles 1. | Kate Gosselin Has a Problem With "Parents Who Let Their Kids Win," Posted: 23 Jun 2014 02:01 AM PDT Kate Gosselin stirred controversy once again simply by playing ball games with her children. And playing to win. The mom of twins and sixtuplets is back on reality TV in part one of the two-part Kate Plus 8 reunion special and she's got people talking about her parenting style. The mother of two teenagers and six 10-year-olds likes to win at games, and it doesn't matter to her that she is defeating her own children, and they have to deal with losing. In fact, that is the point for her. She thinks children have to learn to lose. She said during the episode: I've got a problem with parents who let their kids win because nobody is going to let me win. And while I'm saying "do your best", "work your hardest", "try your hardest", why am I then, in a fun game, letting her win? The clip shows Gosselin and her kids;13-year-old twin daughters Mady and Cara, and 10-year-old sextuplets, Hannah, Joel, Leah, Alexis, Aaden, and Collin, playing a game of gaga ball. Do you agree with Kate Gosselin's sentiments on raising her kids and inculcating sportmanship and competitiveness in them? Do you let your children win all your games together? | ||||||
| Toyin Aimakhu on Poor Childhood, Sexy Roles, Married Life and Pregnancy Rumors Posted: 23 Jun 2014 12:04 AM PDT Toyin Aimakhu Johnson is a Nollywood actress who mostly is seen in Yoruba movies. Since she got married and came online, Toyin has also been the subject of certain social media controversies as well as rumors of pregnancy or financial crisis with her young husband. In an interview with Sunday Sun, Toyin discusses all this including what growing up in a poor home was like, the movie roles she regrets playing, her love story with her husband and their marriage so far. What was your growing up like? It was sweet sort of though, I am from a poor background, it's a past issue now; I give God the glory. I grew up in a small community, like a village but it was fun. Trust me because we were so healthy, we ate fresh food and there was nothing to worry about. Were your parents farmers? No, they were not but that was what they could afford at that time. Though, we did a little farming, my mum is a pastor and founder of churches. My dad used to work with Ibru in Benin but has retired a long time. He is also helping in the church as well. What was it like being poor? Well, I didn't know we were poor; I just got to realize it. You know there are some people who are poor and you look at them that they are poor but they don't see it. It was later I realized that we were poor. It was later I realized that that was why we couldn't eat spaghetti because we couldn't afford it, and we ate rice once in a week. But to me it was fun and it was just a normal way of living. It was when I was growing up that it really dawned on me. When I got to school, I also noticed but really it was fun for me growing up that I hardly took notice that we were poor. When you were in school were you a popular kid? Not really, but when I was in St. Annes Secondary School, I drummed. I was a drummer girl. Then, I played handball and football. I was even in the Oyo State team. How is married life? Marriage is sweet because I got married to my friend; we fall into the same age range. But now things are different, you can't do things without informing the other person. Sometimes when I want to make some decisions and he is not around or his phone is not going, I have to wait. I also have to act like a mother but I am enjoying it all. Which do you enjoy, is it being single or married? Of course, I prefer being married. You can enjoy being single because you don't have anyone questioning you. But being married is sweeter because there is someone out there who cares so much about you. You are coming home to meet someone and there is someone out there who can go an extra mile for you, and you know, it is every woman's dream to get married. So, it is better off than being single in some ways. You are both actors, how did you meet him? I actually met him on set. Was it love at first sight? No, he was my junior colleague and he is still my junior colleague anyway. He just walked up to me and said he liked my movies and I said 'thank you'. You see, I am a kind of person that is very free with everyone. I don't keep to myself, even if you are an upcomer, I don't care who you are. I am just me and I am free with everybody. When my car was stolen, he had the opportunity to ask me about it, and we became friends. At that time I was single, I had issues with my ex, so we became friends and we got talking and I realized he was even three years older than me. I also realized he is a fantastic guy and very intelligent. I was like let's give it a trial. There is a tattoo on your hand, in the name of your husband, why? Well, it is his name. I just did it. You know a lot of people don't know me; they just judge me from the screen. But the thing about screen is that, when you see ladies, actresses or actors that kiss a lot in the movies or that go extra length, they are always the calm and the decent ones. I am not saying that others are indecent but it's always like that, a lot of people don't know me, they don't even know who I am. They only see me on screen, well, that must be the mistake I made, being real with my roles. For instance, now I am telling people who are training under me that 'most times you can't get too real with some roles because this is the mistake I had made myself'. You have to cut down some things; maybe at that point I didn't see someone to tell me. So, they don't even know me, they don't know who I am, a lot of people judge me from the screen. But I am not what a lot of people think. I don't even go out. I just started going out when I got married. The reason I didn't go out when I was single was because when you go out a lot, you meet a lot of people and you get confused. That is why some people, today they meet a rich man and tomorrow they meet someone richer. So, at that time, I didn't want to get confused. I just wanted to stay at home and later meet a good man. Now that I have met my man, I go out more often because even if you are richer than whatever in this world, I have got my man and wearing my wedding ring. What are the challenges you have been faced with in the industry? A lot. You see, a lot of people see you in a movie and they judge you based on the characters you played. You know, they deal with you according to the roles you play in the movies. But it's not like that because I just did my job. Even when I got married they were like 'isn't she an actress?' There is a sort of stigma on us and they forget that what some girls out there do is far worse than what we do. But we are in the limelight. I am not a young girl. I am an adult. I graduated like nine years ago. So, I want what I want and I can tell you the guys I have dated. I am a lover girl, when I am dating someone everybody knows because I don't know how to hide my relationship. When we have problems, people will be like, 'see, she is not dating this person again'. But sit down and count the guys I have dated, they are not even up to five and I have never dated any married man in my life. Let any woman come out and say I have dated her husband. I have never done that. When people go on blogs and say sh-t about me, some people just go on the internet and say rubbish about people, let them come out and challenge me. Those are the things we face; they say actresses get married to married men. What about people who are not actresses that do the same?. I am not saying it is right or wrong, I am just saying that everyone has his or her opinion. However, I understand we are role models and a lot of people look up to us. Recently, it was all over the Internet that you were pregnant, are you pregnant? Do I look pregnant? I think it is the dress, you can see I look slim here. It is a positive thing and I am happy. I can't wait to be a mother. When you are married in Nigeria the next thing is getting pregnant, but my husband is young and I want to be with my husband now. When the kids start coming, the attention will shift, so let me love my husband and we will have kids. But if I get pregnant now, it is fine. It's going to come, please help me tell them to chill. What great lessons did your parents teach you that you couldn't forget? Do what makes you happy but think of people around you. And also pray. You said earlier that your mother is a pastor? She is not just a pastor; she is also a founder of churches. She has like five churches. What was your parents' reaction when you told them you were going to be an actress? They didn't like it at first but my mum just called me and gave me some words of advice, that I should hold the family's name in high esteem. They don't watch movies but sometimes people watch and they tell them, and when they ask me about some roles I played, I try to explain to them or sometimes I just tell them that's not me. I won't lie to you; I have played roles in movies that I regret. Trust me. But what will I do? Will I kill myself? Of course not. I just smile over it and look the other way. You know, it is because of the passion I have for this job, I play some roles and I want them to look real. When I leave the set, I will be like 'why did I do this?' Or when I watch some of my movies, I will ask myself 'why did I play this role like this?' Often times I wonder why I have not met my husband long time ago to correct me about some things. Was I dating the wrong people back then? Why is it that some of my senior colleagues didn't tell me about this? How did he propose to you? He proposed on a cheap canoe (laughs). We were coming from Ikorodu and there was this mad traffic. We were running late and we had to do a job quickly. We had to park our car at Badore and hop on the canoe. He proposed right there. When we were coming back and even if I wanted to say no, I dare not because we were on the sea (laughs). But I was happy; I knew I was going to get married to a young man because I told God 'if I don't get married to a young man, I would rather remain single than marry a married man'. Was there a time you wanted to pull out of acting because you got so overwhelmed with the challenges? No, there was no time like that. I have never been harassed. As a matter of fact, I dated someone in the industry, that was some few years back and it was because I wanted to date him. We liked each other and we decided to date. We had a relationship, so I was never abused, nobody asked me for sex. When some people say that, I am like maybe it's because of their appearance, because when I get to location, I greet everyone with respect. |
