In a bid to add their voices to the call for the release of hundreds of schoolgirls kidnapped by Boko Haram insurgents in Chobok, Borno State, some Nollywood stars led by Patience Ozokwor, popularly called Mama G, on Thursday staged a rally in Lagos, western Nigeria.
NAN reports that the actors, which included Chinedu Ikedieze, popularly known as Aki, Ejiro Okurame, Mercy Aigbe, Femi Ogedengbe, Thelma Okaz and Tony Akposhere, marched from Allen Avenue to Alausa Secretariat soliciting for the release of the abducted school girls.
While demonstrating earlier today, the Nollywood actors said the march was their own way of celebrating the Democracy Day because they were unhappy that the kidnapped school children were still being held by the Boko Haram sect.
The actors, who marched with various placards with various inscriptions asking for the release of the girls, were addressed by the Speaker of Lagos State House of Assembly, Mr Adeyemi Ikuforiji
They pleaded for the release of the girls by the Boko Haram sect.
While addressing the movie stars, Ikuforiji commended the actors for having the nation at heart and joining in the clamour for the release.

A few years ago, the couple met through a family friend but started a relationship last year, Ayobode Ayodele, the groom's best friend, said while giving the toast.
At the ceremony were Ekiti State Governor Kayode Fayemi; former Ogun State Governor Otunba Gbenga Daniel; the Ooni of Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuwade; former Special Adviser to Chief Olusegun Obasanjo on Political Matters, Mr Akin Osuntokun; Senator Florence Ita-Giwa, Odua People's Congress (OPC) leader Chief Gani Adams and Hajia Abba Folawiyo.

A 16-year-old male gang member from Newark, New Jersey, accused of shooting dead a Pennsylvania cab driver showed little remorse Saturday as he was led into his arraignment.
Aazis Richardson all but admitted to the crime to reporters as he was walked into the Scranton courtroom by a handful of deputies, and even seemed to justify killing 47-year-old Vincent Darbenzio because he refused to take shortcuts. 'That's what I do to people that don't listen,' the stone-faced teen said to a WNEP reporter as he entered the courtroom in shackles and with his hands cuffed behind his back. He is also suspected in a triple murder in Newark.
Police say Richardson had a neighbour call for a cab just after 1.00am Saturday morning. The young man soon became agitated as Darbenzio refused to go the way he wanted, cops said. 'Richardson said he got upset because the cab driver was taking the long way and ripping him off,' a criminal complaint posted online by the Scranton Times-Tribune said. 'What did you say to him when you guys were in the cab together?' A reporter can be heard asking Richardson.
'I didn't say s**t to him, I just told him take this way, he didn't want to listen, he got his a** shot,' he said. Police say Richardson shot Darbenzio twice in the head while he was still in the driver's seat, took $500 cash and fled the scene. Richardson then uttered an even more chilling response when asked why he did it.
'I feel my homies die, everybody got to die.'
Darbenzio was discovered dead just after 5.00am slumped over the steering wheel of his still-running cab. He had only started driving for the cab company last month. Authorities tracked phone records to find the last person who called Darbenzio. That neighbor pointed detectives to Richardson, and they found him hiding in the attic of his home with a handgun. Police have been taken aback by the callousness Richardson has displayed in the hours since. 'All homicides have a certain level of coldness,' Scranton Police Chief Carl Graziano said at a news conference after the arraignment. 'But this particular defendant exceeds all measurable levels of coldness.'
The supposed member of the Boynton Boys Bloods street gang told police he bought the gun in Newark for $175, and bragged that he's also suspected of a triple murder in the crime-ridden northern New Jersey city. He is due back in court May 30, records showed. But he was not at a loss for words as he walked into his first appearance before a judge. 'What about your parents, do you have anything to say to your family?' The teen was asked.
'I love y'all,' he said.
Another reporter asked 'what about the victim's family?'
'F**k them.'

Police in India are hunting a gang of men who r*ped and killed two teenage girls, before hanging their bodies from a tree. The horrendous attack, in the village of Karta in the Uttar Pradesh region, is said to have happened on Tuesday night after the two cousins, aged 14 and 15, went missing from their homes.
NDTV reports the girls - from the low-caste Dalit community previously known as the "untouchables" - disappeared after stepping out to go to toilet in the bush as they had none at home, prompting their families to search through the night. Their bodies were found at dawn, hanging from
trees in an orchard, and post mortem examinations confirmed they had been r*ped before their deaths.
The girls' families alleged five men from the village are responsible for the brutal attack, with one arrest made. But the families also claim police refused to investigate the girls' disappearance or help with the search for hours after they were reported missing.
Angry villagers blocked a road in protest at the "alleged police apathy", and a case of conspiracy has been filed against two local policemen after they were accused of ignoring the families' requests for help, and protected some of the men responsible. The officers have been suspended while the allegations are investigated.
The case will bring back memories in India of the brutal gang-r*pe of a student on a Delhi bus in December 2012. The 23-year-old died from horrendous injuries sustained during the attack, and her death prompted an overh-aul of legislation on s*x crimes, as well as calls for changes in attitudes to women. Records show a r*pe is committed every 22 minutes in India, a nation of 1.2 billion people.

Shona Carter and her boo Jonathan Brooks who just welcomed a newborn daughter, wanted to include the baby in the wedding in a creative way, so Shona had the one-month-old infant attached to the train of her wedding dress.
Many questioned the bride's decision to drag her newborn down the aisle. But the new Mrs. Brooks took to Facebook to assure her critics her baby girl was perfectly fine, and that she and her family are "covered by the Blood." " She wrote. Adebola Ladoja,One of the sons of former Oyo State governor, Rasheed Ladoja, died yesterday in a fatal auto accident on Eko Bridge.
, Rasheed Ladoja, lost his life on Thursday in a ghastly accident on the Eko Bridge,Lagos. He was driving a Golf saloon car and was said to be on his way to Lagos Island when a Daf truck rammed into his car.The driver of the truck was said to be on top speed,and lost control of his vehicle, ramming into the median of the bridge, before crashing into the deceased's car.
An eye witness said "It took several hours before the victim could be rescued from the wreckage of the vehicle. He was trapped behind the wheels with blood gushing out of his head."
The Lagos State Police spokesperson, Ngozi Braide said
"At about 3.30pm on the Eko Bridge, Lagos Island, a Daf truck with number plate, JJJ 59 XA, driven by one Justice Oseghai, ran into a Volkswagen Golf saloon car, marked, AKD 107 CJ, driven by one Adebola Ladoja, the son of a former governor of Oyo State, Senator Rasheed Ladoja.The victim died on the spot.
