Karis Gouldbourne's Fiance Needs Life Saving Heart Surgery

Posted: 09 Apr 2014 07:04 AM PDT

Karis Gouldbourne is a young British woman, and she's been dating her fiance MJ for seven years. MJ has a terminal heart condition which started when he was eleven and back in Gambia. MJ moved to Britain hoping for corrective surgery but lack of funds and other problems has has not received treament over the past fourteen years. Now Karis wants them to take matters into their own hands by raising the funds needed for the surgery. So far, they've got over  £10,000. If you can, please do help. Click here

Karis speaks out for her boo;

Here's the harsh truth: My fiancee could die.

Here's the silver lining: He doesn't have to.

Here's the simple solution: Five minutes of your time.

Since he was eleven, MJ has suffered from Mitral and Aortic Stenosis - a heart disease that causes his valves to leak. In 2006 he came to the UK in order to have life-saving surgery that is not available in his hometown of The Gambia. It is now 2014, and having not been able to have the surgery due to lack of funding, we have now been advised to raise it ourselves. The cost of the surgery is going to be a huge £30,000 - far too much for a young, working class couple such as ourselves to afford.

MJ has been advised by his consultant that if he doesn't have his treatment within five years, he will die; however, there is now an added threat from the UK Home Office that he is also in danger of being sent home - to the very place he fled from to avoid certain death.

We need YOUR help to afford the treatment and consequently keep MJ alive. If you are unable to donate, then simply sharing this page can do a world of good. MJ is just twenty five years old with a disease that predominantly affects the elderly, and so with the necessary treatment, doctors are certain he will easily make a full recovery, but without it, he will only get worse. Together, let's stop that from happening. Let's help MJ live.

Kaffy on the Fastest Shedder, But Is it Only For Women Contestants?

Posted: 09 Apr 2014 06:03 AM PDT

Dance and fitness guru, Kaffy was on the set of the ongoing bootcamp for participants of the TV weight loss show, the Fastest Shedder to motivate and give them pointers on healthy living. I wonder if the show is for women alone though? The US shows it is based on, The Biggest Loser, showcases both men and women learning how to lose weight and keep it off and is one of my favorites. Hope this one offers that same help to the participants and watchers here.
Kaffy said this when she shared the picture above on Instagram;
Met these wonderful women who are their way to a healthier fitter lifestyle. In just a week in fastest shredder camp they have a totally different view of what was and what is .....and belive me they are well motivated and are ready for the challenge. They sang a song whose lyrics contain phrases like ....We been judged by the way we look....no more hating myself no more frustration. They have discovered inner strength where dey never thought existed.some even said they thought they would die if they stopped eating or workout but here dey are on very low potions and mostly fruits nd veggies and they are still standing. I urge you all wellness is key to healthy life and we know that health is wealth . There comes a time when money is useless to securing good health. Obedience is better than sacrifice. Do something now. You might think paying for fitness programs and the like are expensive....look if u can afford 100k Brazilian hair, buy expensive phones even lavishe upto 5k at fast food joint, Trust me u might want to consider spending it on being healthy now than paying much more at a hospital years later. When factors will b mentioning ailments you will need to research their meaning. EAT CLEAN LIVE ACTIVE We are blessed in Africa we have organic food all around us than the West let's take advantage of it and learn more about our food.one major problem we have is our portions. Yours sincerely in fitness and wellness, Kaffy

Magazine Covers - Beyonce on Out's Power Issue

Posted: 09 Apr 2014 01:59 AM PDT

Beyonce seems to be channeling Marilyn Monroe with the short blonde hair and the retro outfits. Totally works. In the cover story, Beyonce talks about women owning the sexuality.

She tackles the double standard between men & women regarding sexuality, telling the magazine'

"There is a double standard when it comes to sexuality that still persists. Men are free and women are not. That is crazy."
"You can be a businesswoman, a mother, an artist, and a feminist - whatever you want to be - and still be a sexual being. There is unbelievable power in ownership and women should own their sexuality."
