| JUST IN!! The 7 month old marriage of popular comedienne Princess has Ended! Posted: 27 Dec 2013 10:18 AM PST ![]() Nigerian Entertainment Today has confirmed that Princess (real names Oluwadamilola Adekoya) and her hubby Shola have gone their separate ways putting behind them the 7 month-old rocky union. Our investigations reveal that trouble started about two weeks after the wedding in May, 2013. Insiders told us that the marriage was characterised by endless disagreements, often requiring the intervention of friends and family. 'It's been 7 months of a series of efforts to mend the broken marriage until it was obvious that it was beyond repair' one insider told us today. Speaking to our correspondent, Princess confirms the separation, saying 'Yes my marriage has ended due to irreconcilable differences'. She admitted to our reporter that the union has not been as blissful as many thought. 'We have been having issues since the wedding but we still remained together hoping that we would be able to work it out. But apparently, we couldn't work it out, hence the reason for our separation. 'We actually ended it several months ago, but we didn't want to make it public. I'm sure God knows best' she added. A few months ago it was reported that Princess was pregnant, an allegation, which she denied. Princess and her hubby, Adeshola Jeremiah got married on May 8, 2013 in a widely celebrated wedding which was attended by the First Lady of Lagos State, Abimbola Fashola and other top comedians. | Preacher Attempts To Walk On Water And Drowns! Posted: 27 Dec 2013 10:20 AM PST ![]() A news organization, WORLDNETDAILY has reported the following unfortunate incident: "An evangelist who tried replicating Jesus' miracle of walking on water has reportedly drowned off the western coast of Africa. Pastor Franck Kabele, 35, told his congregation he could repeat the biblical miracle, and he attempted it from a beach in Gabon's capital of Libreville. 'He told churchgoers he'd had a revelation that if he had enough faith, he could walk on water like Jesus,' an eyewitness told the Glasgow Daily Record. 'He took his congregation to the beach saying he would walk across the Komo estuary, which takes 20 minutes by boat. He walked into the water, which soon passed over his head and he never came back.' A researcher at Florida State University believes he has a natural explanation for the account of Jesus' miraculous walk on the surface of water — ice. Professor of Oceanography Doron Nof and the co-authors of his study theorize that a rare combination of optimal water and atmospheric conditions resulted in a unique, localized freezing phenomenon called 'springs ice.'"This horrible incident, together with a "professor's" response, progresses from the tragically untaught to the supremely obtuse. The Tragedy of Ignorance"'Pastor' Kabele" obviously was a very sincere man; but sincerity does not nullify ignorance. I do not use this term in a pejorative way. All of us are ignorant in some matters. It's just that sometimes one form of ignorance can have a greater consequence than others. In the first place it should be noted that "revelations" from God do not occur today. When the Old Testament era came to an end in Malachi's day, 400 years passed with no "revelations" from God. This era frequently is described as "the four silent centuries."With the coming of a new age, from the commencement of Jesus' ministry to the death of the apostle John, there was another relatively brief period when supernatural revelation and signs were manifest. When the New Testament was completed, and the apostles and other people possessing miraculous abilities died, no further signs were provided. Had poor Mr. Kabele known his Bible better, he would not have attempted his "miracle" feat; had he possessed a moderate amount of common sense, he quickly would have discovered he could not "walk on water," before the sea finally took him. | Posted: 27 Dec 2013 09:14 AM PST ![]() Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi gave a very long message while addressing masses at Saint Vincent De Paul Catholic Church in Port Harcourt on Christmas day, Wed December 25, 2013. While addressing the increased violence in the Rivers State, Amaechi said the growing insecurity was caused by police officials' biasness when dealing with civilians. He also said he was installed by Jesus Christ as the governor of Rivers State. Amaechi urged people to ignore claims that some politicians installed him as the governor. Hear Amaechi in his own words below: "As a government led by me, a government installed by Christ, if anybody tells you he installed me, tell him it is a lie. Tell him that I said I prayed for 10 months and I fasted from 6am to 6pm, calling on Christ to come down and Christ came down mightily and installed me as governor. "That is why you can see that in the face of human effortery, I have been able to stand face to face with them and I say I have Christ in me. "You must rise in that same spirit of having Christ in you and confront those who are confronting you. You must stand up for Christ because the Bible says 'faith without work is dead.' "We must not die. We must live and the way to live is to celebrate Christ and the way to celebrate Christ is to confront Satan and Satan is in different forms and shapes. "If the police shoot at you, they are satanic. If government denies you your right to live, that government is satanic" . "All these you may want to attribute to political disagreement in Rivers State; but it is not true. It is simply because of those who lead us in Abuja; because the police is an establishment of the Federal Government and they have refused to curb the excesses of the police. "Instead of the police to chase away criminals, they are shooting at innocent citizens. Don't stop at praying. We knew we prayed, but as you pray, you must rise on your feet and confront the challenges of insecurity." What is political message doing inside church on Christmas day? These politicians have become something else I tell you. |
INCREDIBLE! Meet the Taxi Driver who Returned N48 MILLION Left Behind In Back Seat! Posted: 27 Dec 2013 09:02 AM PST ![]() A Las Vegas taxi driver has been hailed for his honesty after ensuring that $300,000 in cash found left in his cab was returned to its rightful owner, the Las Vegas Sun reported on Tuesday. Gerardo Gamboa discovered the cash inside a bag that an unidentified passenger left behind in the taxi's back seat early Monday after a successful night of gambling, the newspaper reported. Gamboa's employer, Yellow Checker Star Transportation, later rewarded the cabbie for his rectitude by giving him a $1,000 bonus and a dinner out for two, and named him the company's driver of the year, the newspaper said, citing accounts from Gamboa and his company. It was not clear whether the owner of the cash would also reward Gamboa. The cabbie could not immediately be reached by Reuters for comment, and his company did not return phone calls. City police declined to comment on the incident. Gamboa picked up the cash-toting man early on Monday at The Cosmopolitan hotel and drove him to the Palms Place, where he received a $5 tip, he told the newspaper. At Gamboa's next stop, a hotel doorman at the Bellagio discovered the bag in the rear of the cab, and thinking it contained chocolate left behind by a passenger, moved it from the back seat to the front passenger seat, the newspaper reported. After peering inside the bag while stopped at a traffic light, Gamboa called his dispatcher to report the find. Using hotel records, the cab company tracked down the passenger, who arrived at the company's office in sweats and a T-shirt - but without any identification. After local police helped verify his identity, the man was reunited with his cash. He shook Gamboa's hand, took down his contact information, and said he would reward him at a later time, the newspaper reported. "If he doesn't give me anything, that's OK," Gamboa told the Sun. "I'm not waiting for any kind of return. I just wanted to do the right thing, and I appreciate what the company did for me." Reuters

'It’s so sad I’m not a BILLIONAIRE even as a VETERAN ACTOR - Kareem Adepoju AKA Baba Wande! Posted: 27 Dec 2013 07:12 AM PST ![]() HOW does it feel like celebrating 50 years on stage? I believe God has kept me till this very stage of my career. For me to be in the profession for that number of years without any problems or difficulties, I think it is worth celebrating. That is the reason I am using the opportunity to thank God. Considering that you have fixed a date, how do you intend to do it without getting financial support?I believe God will not disappoint me. If one person refuses to answer me, I believe another person would surely support me. I believe so much in God and I know he will not disappoint me on this. Since I have already made up my mind that, I am going to do it, it must be done. God will help me on it. Even though there is disappointment in getting sponsorship, I know He will help, because somebody will rise up somewhere to help. Is this event an avenue to source for money or it is just for thanksgiving? It is a two- in- one event. I want to thank God and at the same time launch a new movie I just finished producing. It is titled Agbabiaka. So it is two aspect, one is thanksgiving, while the other is the launch of a new movie that will fetch me money. Because my profession is filmmaking, I needed to do something to mark 50 years on stage. People refer to me as a comedian, so I wrote a play on comedy. But you stated that, you are having problem with marketers. Why produce another movie?By the grace of God, I will not give this film to any marketer. I will sell it by myself. How do you intend to do that?People have said to me, that if I produce any movie, they are ready to buy it as long as has my name is in it. I won't give any marketer my film again. And that is why I stopped shooting movies. This one is for the anniversary. On the day of the event, I will announce where people can come to pick it up. I know people would come and buy it. I will even employ those who will be carrying it about to different places. It is believed that you are a typecast artiste. How would you react to that?As for me, I don't believe I am a comedian. I can play all kind of roles. It is just that people see me and what I do as comic. For instance, the movie Tolu Wa lo ni ile is not a comedy film but people see comedy in it. There is no part you give to me, that I cannot do. It is just that every character I portray, people see comic in it. What would you say are the changes that have come with home movies?Back in the days, people do not encourage their children to go into acting. But now, it is different, and that is the improvement that I can see. People now see it as a job or career to be supported. But there is no improvement in the stage play. We should not say because we have started the movies, then that part should die. Stage is the mother of movies, so how can you say because of the child you want to forget the mother, is it done? Go to foreign countries, they have those doing stage and those doing the movies. That is the way it should be here too. The case of Pa Kasumu can happen to any actor. What do you think can be done concerning such things? There are people who are well to do. Also, the government should be able to help in such situation. In the case of Pa Kasumu, he is a popular actor but the thing is that he has no money. I know him very well; he has spent so much on the ailment. When he couldn't control it anymore, he had to come out to the public for help. But where do other actors get money, especially the ladies? You know where the ladies get their money now. You cannot compare the ladies to men. So we can not relate the two together. You talk of flashy cars; do you get one from me? You know the truth. If we are paid well, you can then compare us to the Igbo's. But how long will this continue in the Yoruba sector?I don't know and I don't know what can be done. It is only God that can help us. The case is just like that of Nigeria, we are over 50 years and we have nothing to show for it. We are still crawling. The problem with Nigeria is also the same with the Yoruba actors. No good roads, lights, water and no job opportunities for the graduates. But I believe if the problems are solved, ours too will be solved. What are your colleagues doing to support Pa Kasumu? Those of us who have little change go to him and give it to him. But I learnt that the government is ready to help him. I don't know how true it is. Because they money they need for his treatment is huge and of which any actor cannot provide. Why is it that celebrities do not come out in time to make their predicament known? That is because they plan to treat it first maybe with herbs. But when it is beyond their power, they then shout out to the public. Nobody plans to get sick, until the problem is bigger than what they can solve. It is not like he has been looking and not doing anything, he has been trying to cure himself for many years. And he has spent a lot on himself. Do you have any of your children taking after you? They try to emulate me, but none of them is like me. That is, they do no not take it professionally. Some of them are graduates who are bankers, while some are craft workers. Are any of them living on your fame?None of them is doing that. But once people hear the name and find out they are my children, they give them respect and special treatment. But for them, they like to keep a low profile. And you will meet them in a good place, you cannot see any of my children drinking, fighting or smoking. It is believed that prominent men love women. Does that apply to you too?Women? There is no man in this life that does not like women. Every man loves women; it is God's making. It is not about fame. There are some men who are married to just one woman. But you will see them with different women any time they are travelling to different places. And they believe they have just one, I don't believe in that. How many wives do you have? Two. Do you plan to stop at two, or there are plans to add more?As far as I am concern on that, having two wives is not my making. If God says I will have more, it is His will. But as a Muslim, I cannot exceed four. I can have as many as four wives. And presently I have two, if God says I will have more, I will. But if He says I will stop on those two, I will. If God gives me the power and money, to maintain them and the power to satisfy them, I will have… Given the opportunity would you go back to school?Yes I would if I have the opportunity. Do you plan to retire any time soon?Actors don't retire until they die. If I say I want to retire tomorrow, people would come out to say Baba Wande has stop giving us films o. I will continue to give them plays, jokes, laughs, until I die.

Sad Christmas for Veteran actor Kayode Odumosu Aka Pa Kasumu! Posted: 27 Dec 2013 05:55 AM PST ![]() Veteran actor Kayode Odumosu, popularly known as Pa Kasumu, walked slowly into his living room after having his afternoon shower. His steps were painful and deliberate, as he tried to get his eyes accustomed to the dimly-lit living room. He smelt fresh, though his face still had drops of water drizzling unto the cape of his white Kaftan. After a while, he wiped off the drizzle on his forehead with his left hand. It was Christmas day, but there was nothing in the household of the popular actor to suggest that there was anything merry in the day. Save for a few visitors, who paid him a visit that day, Pa Kasumu slept throughout Christmas, only getting up in the evening to take a shower and attend to his health. When The Nation visited him in his one-bedroom apartment on Alayaki Street in a rundown neighbourhood of Mushin, Lagos, Pa Kasumu said although the worst seems over, he is still very ill. "I am seeing two of you as we speak. My left pupil is bad. When I turn my eyes, it goes straight into my eyelid and it is very painful. There are still so many issues wrong, which I think a proper medical help outside the country can fix. But today, what I desire most are the prayers of Nigerians, which I believe are the most important," he said. About two months ago, Pa Kasumu was diagnosed with different kinds of ailment and has appealed to kind-hearted Nigerians to help him offset his huge medical bills. Although about N5 million was raised for the ailing actor, it was far from what he actually needed. However, the Ogun State-born A-list actor is weary of calling Nigerians for help as some have abused that opportunity. "I am very careful about talking to journalists. Many of them, who have come here, write derogatory things about me and my family, but they claim they are trying to help me. What I will appeal for is prayers from Nigerians, because that is what I need now. If there is help for me to travel abroad, that will be welcome," he added. TheNation

Posted: 27 Dec 2013 04:43 AM PST Famous Yoruba actress, Mosun Filani has rubbished a report by a blog, a couple of weeks back, that she has passed on. She added that it was the handiwork of her detractors. Speaking with Encomium magazine, she said "That's strange o! How can anybody say I am dead when I am still alive? It's a wicked rumour, and I believe it emanated from enemies of progress. I am not even sick, let alone dying. The rumour is weighty, and it can never be my portion in Jesus name. I believe you can recognize my voice that I am the one speaking with you. That alone shows that it's a fake and useless rumour. I am alive, hale and hearty, enjoying my marriage. I will advise those behind it to spend their valuable time on something meaningful" Asked to shed light on another tale that her husband, Kayode Oduoye, has banned her from acting, the talented film maker said "That's not true. My husband never banned me from acting. The truth is that after my marriage, I decided to take things easy and concentrate on my home front rather than career. Work is there forever, I can continue at any time I like. My husband doesn't disturb my career. Our marriage has also been blessed with a baby girl, Oluwashemilore. She was just one year old in November this year. Everything concerning my marriage has to be given special attention before any other thing. But very soon, I will stage a big come back. I am still very much in the industry"
Posted: 27 Dec 2013 04:43 AM PST The entire community of Nigerian students in Donetsk, Ukraine, has been in the state of mourning since last week due to the sudden death of two nationals, Laolu Oresanya Teresa and Obede Ogbu. The Ukrainian media has reportedly given a different account of what actually happened to the two deceased Nigerians, according to a Nigerian national in Ukraine who wants to remain anonymous. Below is the true story as told by him: "I have decided to let the world know what happened, just for the records. Ukrainian media reports have generally said they died because they could not afford medical care. This is not true." "My responsibility to myself, my neighbors, my family and the human family is to try to tell the truth, I'd have failed my own personal ideology if I keep quite. Teresa was a 3rd year Electrical Engineering student of Donetsk National Technical University. She was admitted to the hospital on the 8th of December 2013 and was diagnosed by the doctors of having Acute Anemia. Immediately after the diagnosis, money was paid to the hospital for treatment . Funny enough, the doctors never commenced any serious treatment till on the 12th of December 2013, saying she was under some medication and they were monitoring her improvement." "The next day, December 13th, came news that her situation was critical and she has been moved to the intensive care unit, where she later passed on at around 7:20 p.m. same day. So the issue of not having money as painted in the Ukrainian media is not true. What is even more annoying and embarrassing is that the result of the diagnosis and that of the autopsy were opposite. While the autopsy results show she died of Sepsis, the doctors diagnosis shows she died of Acute Anemia." "As for Obede Ogbu aka Slim Black, he was a postgraduate Electrical Engineering student of same university." "He died on the 18th of December 2013. His own case was also a case of neglect by the doctors. According to the doctors on duty, he was suffering from cardiac arrest, and rather than giving him the urgent attention needed, they left us alone with him. Immediately we tried to inquire why no attention was given to him, the doctors simply responded by saying we should give them five minutes to smoke cigarette." "When the situation became critical and a nurse rushed to call the doctors, it was too late for Obede Ogbu. The question many of us have continued to ask since then is whether the Ukrainian doctors would have left their own citizens in critical condition to smoke for five minutes. Would they have treated fellow European or Russian citizens the same way? This was the highest level of unprofessionalism I have ever seen in my whole life." "There was no need for the Ukrainian media to twist the story, because neither our embassy in Kiev nor the federal government cares if we all perish in the hospital. The entire Nigerian students in Donetsk must be commended for having the courage to come out in large numbers to protest the uncaring attitude of Ukrainian doctors to black. Though we know nothing would be done to remedy the situation, at least, the truth deserves to be told." thenigerianvoice
