From all indications, Bayelsa State is fast becoming the entertainment capital of the country. The state once again successfully hosted the first edition of the Caribbean African American Nations (CAAN) Music Awards 2013, at the Cultural Centre, Yenagoa.  As expected, there was no dull moment at the world class event  which was beamed live to the world last weekend.
Anchored by celebrated On-Air-Personality, IK Oskioduwa and supported by beautiful Toccara Jones ( America 's Next Top Model) and Claudia Jordan (Celebrity Apprentice).

The star studded event opened with a beautiful rendition of the national anthem by Bayelsa State-born singer, Timi Dakolo followed by a well choreographed dance performance by the  state's Council for Arts and Culture.
While welcoming guests to the state, the excited governor,Henry Seriake Dickson reiterated his administration's commitment towards  uniting the world through the arts by using the platform of  the state's potentials.
According to him, " There is no doubt that Bayelsa State has become the entertainment headquarters of the continent. By next year, we will release our tourism and entertainment calendar of the year. Every month, we will be hosting an international event." Also, speaking at the occasion, the  Chairman, Silverbird Group,  Ben Bruce said, the CAAN music awards would serve as an icon of the music industry on the continent.
Indeed, it was not a night for long speeches as well as undiluted performances. The guests were thrilled with electrifying performances by a long list of Nigerian and foreign artistes such as General Pype, TJ Wonder, Chuddy K, Bba Dee, Daddy Showkey, Sheyi Shay, KCEE,  Timaya, Tuface, Waxcomzy, Mafikizulu, Sean Kingston, among others.
The highlight of the occasion was the presentation of awards to deserving artistes.  Baba Dee won the Dance Hall Reggae Album of the Year, while Dance Song of the Year went to P Square. Others winners were Best Act South Africa – Mafikizulu, Song of the decade – Tuface's African Queen, Producer of the Year – D'Tunes, Best Act West Africa – Sarkode, Song of the year was won by  Kcee and Album of the year which went to Flavour .

Punch recently contacted the actress to speak on Timaya's comments. In the phone conversation, she revealed "People who are mature can depict what is true and what is not. I am not ready to say anything."
On if the comment bothers her: "Why would it bother me? It is one thing to be hurt over such statement and another thing to be disappointed. I wasn't hurt and I wasn't even disappointed. Worst things have been said and written about me but the people who know who I am would tell the difference."
She also revealed that she is more interested in her life at the moment rather than talking about "what doesn't make sense".
"I am more involved with my birthday and celebrating it with the orphans and the less privileged. I am better off talking about this than to talk about what is not important. I am too busy making money. People who know you will always know how positive you have affected their lives. I am surrounded by so many people who have shown me love so there is no reason for me to be pained."

Few minutes before Fast & Furious actor Paul Walker died in a car accident yesterday, he posed next to the 2005 Porsche Carrera GT that exploded on impact in the deadly accident. TMZ reports that this pic above was taken just 30 minutes before the accident.


Paul had put together a car show charity event in Santa Clarita, CA. through his ReachOut Worldwide organization, to support typhoon relief efforts in the Philippines and was leaving the event in the red Porsche car when his friend lost control and slammed into a tree. The car exploded on impact. The police says speed was a factor.

Paul Walker took a pic with a fan at the event minutes before the accident.

Jeta Amata's ex-wife and Nollywood actress, Mbong Amata was spotted alongside Frank Edoho, the Who Wants To Be A millionaire host and Katherine Obiang's ex-hubby, in Bayelsa recently.
Sources disclosed that the actress and the TV show host have been paired to star opposite each other in a new flick that is currently in the works.

 A rumour has been spreading so fast that actress Foluke Daramola was pregnant for her husband, Kayode Salako but had a miscarriage shortly after she took in. Foluke Daramola when contacted and asked how true it was by a reporter, the actress cursed those peddling the rumours out and said nothing like that ever happened. Here is what she told the reporter;


"In the first place, I am yet to be pregnant for Kayode Salako, let alone losing it. Miscarriage will never be my portion anytime God answers my prayer as regards that. I received some calls regarding that but I began to wonder where all these rubbish was coming from. Anyway, that may be what they wished themselves, not me. I won't suffer any miscarriage in Kayode's home. Nothing is wrong with me, I am hale and hearty. Those peddling that kind of rumour are very wicked and irresponsible. SAD NEWS! RIP! Fast & Furious Actor Paul Walker dies at 40 in tragic Car Accident!

Paul Walker, the actor who played undercover agent Brian O'Conner in the Fast & Furious movies, is dead. He was killed yesterday afternoon Saturday November 30th in a tragic car accident in California. He had been shooting another installment of the Fast & Furious franchise in Atlanta but returned home to California for thanksgiving when the accident occurred while on his way back from a charity event.

Paul Walker was a passenger in a Porsche Carrera GT driven by his longtime friend, Roger Rodas, who lost control and crashed into a light pole and tree in the community of Valencia, north of Los Angeles. When police arrived at the scene of the accident, the car was in flames and the two men inside the car were declared dead at the scene. Paul was just 40.
"It is with a truly heavy heart that we must confirm that Paul Walker passed away today in a tragic car accident while attending a charity event for his organisation Reach Out Worldwide. He was a passenger in a friend's car, in which both lost their lives. We are stunned and saddened beyond belief by this news." A statement on Paul's Facebook page said.
His co-star Vin Diesel said in a post on Instagram that he was speechless: "Brother I will miss you very much. I am absolutely speechless. Heaven has gained a new Angel. Rest in Peace."

Roger Rodas was helped to establish Paul Walker's charity Reach Out Worldwide. He was the CEO of Always Evolving, a performance shop for high end vehicles owned by Walker, located in Valencia.

Paul Walker is survived by a 15 year old daughter named Meadow.

RIP! Oba Adebiyi Adesida of Akure Kingdom is dead!

He died in his place early hours of this morning after a brief illness. The Oba ascended the throne on the 12th of August, 2013 after he was recalled from London shortly after the former Oba was dethroned after he physically abused his wife. 
The late Oba attended the wedding ceremony of his son two weekends ago in Lagos before passing on this morning. 
May his soul rest in peace.
