Closed For Business - Boyfriends Association of Nigeria Writes an Open Letter To All Girlfriends

This is possibly the funniest thing I read recently, but isn't it too predictable?

From: The Boyfriends Association Of Nigeria(B.A.N)

To: Girlfriends

With regards to the meeting held today, theBoyfriend Association of Nigeria (B.A.N) has decided to go on a two months strike starting from 1st December, 2013.

This strike is not to cause mayhem, riot or any form of break-up with our beloved girlfriends. We plan to use this strike period as a time for appraisal and re-dedication in our supposed relationship.

During this period,all forms of communication (formal or otherwise) is allowed but all form of financial assistance will be put to rest.

We assure our girlfriend(s) that during this supposed strike period, our commitment will be 100% and won't be questioned.

Also, this period, will not, WE repeat, will not pose a threat to the relationship. Full boyfriend responsibility will resume on the 1st of February, 2014 to enable both parties plan for the upcoming Valentines Day (14th February, 2014).

We thank our girlfriends for their anticipated 'Good Behavior' during this period.

Matse Uwatse Nnoli How Marriage Has Been a Blessing in Her Life in 2013

Matse Uwatse got married to Bertram Nnoli back in July and in a thanksgiving message posted on her Instagram yesterday, the happily married event host and compere, who is also expecting her first baby, shared more details of their quick relationship and marriage, and how she continues to grow as a person. There are some unhealthy marriages out there, and nothing is guaranteed but with the right person, love and marriage can be a major blessing in one's life. RML celebrates that. Read below for Matse's post;


2013!!! Slowly coming to an end. A year of many joys and enlightenment. If one had told me on the 31st of December 2012 when I lit fireworks and screamed "Happy New Year!" that I would be married and expecting a miracle; my mini-me, I would have doubted. If someone had told me I would be a dual citizen of Nigeria and Germany, I would have wondered how.

I was terribly hurt in 2012 but in just one year my life changed forever. Some have said, "Can she ever settle down?", "Who will marry this feminist?" "Which man go put this one for house?". Well, my God has answered those questions. :-) I have grown mentally, spritually and emotionally. I have learnt not to be selfish and more tolerant.

It wasn't all roses in 2013...I lost my job that I put so much into but gratefully other doors are opening. I was sick beyond comprehension and thought I would die but God was with me. I fought with some family members but it brought us closer. I gained better relationships with my loved ones and I acquired a brand new family (The Nnolis) and in the process of making my own.

As the last days of December 2013 comes, keep believing, keep fighting and stay strong. Miracles do happen. You heart desires will be granted. Your pain will be removed and your joy established. But remember, always keep a clean heart and wish others no evil and I guaranty you, it will be well with you shortly.

Lord, I thank you for 2013...It is a year I will always remember. Keep us all to enjoy the blessing of 2014. #SelfReflection #Gratitude #ThanksGiving #Progress #Blessings #GodIsGood #Prayer

Comedian Julius Agwu channels a pregnant woman in this photoshoot for a social media campaign against domestic violence. With the tagline "Labor pain is the only pain she should feel", the message is to #speakupendabuse. I'm happy to see a man also as a face in the campaign against abuse in relationships and marriage. Well done to Project Alert and Julius Agwu.
