"I grew up poor. We lived in DC, in the projects. Getting a ticket to Nigeria on $20, 000 income yearly, to my family that wasn't really... you know...like I was a 15 year old with a decent job, I'm not going to save up to go to Nigeria. That wasn't what I was thinking when I was that age. And then I was in college and the money tight right then. And then I get this record deal when I dropped out of school, you're running around so much you don't even have time to see your own parents"  |

To God be the glory.How would you describe the joy of the day?It was awesome, great, spectacular.Lola, how does it feel settling down with the man that means the world to you?It's a good feeling. I'm happy about it.Peter, how would you describe your wife?Honestly, she is a wonderful woman. She has virtually all the qualities that every man would want in his ideal woman. She's caring, loving, God-fearing, hard working – just name it, that's my wife for you.What are the sterling qualities that endeared her to your heart?I just said that now. No man will not want to spend the rest of his life with a woman that possesses the qualities I mentioned.Why was the wedding delayed till now despite having all it takes to be a husband?The truth is that we have always known that the wedding will come up. We just didn't want to rush things unnecessarily. We waited for the right time.Entertainers are not used to keeping one woman, how is your own case going to be different?Entertainers don't keep one woman? I don't think so.Is there any iota of truth in the tale that your family didn't support the wedding?That is very far from being the truth. I saw some of those reports and was full of laughter. Everybody is just laughing because the reports are like comedy to us. Honestly, there is no iota of truth in the rumour. But it's one of the prices you pay as a celebrity, so I remain focused.Lola, how would you describe him?Peter is a very loving, caring and romantic guy. It is a huge difference and a huge change in lifestyle. You become more matured.You initially denied having a baby?It was complicated back then, I didn't really know what was happening and I wasn't sure of certain things. So the best I had to do then was denying it and sort out things first. | ''Stella Oduah’s Armoured Cars will buy 51 Police Patrol vehicles'' - Gov Fashola! Posted: 29 Nov 2013 06:46 AM PST  During the 7th annual Town Hall Meeting on Security held in Lagos, Governor Fashola said the two BMW cars bought for Stella Oduah will purchase 51 patrol vehicles for the Nigerian Police. "It is sad to know that the Federal Government that allocate three patrol vehicles for one state police command of 370, 000 police men, is unable to resolve how N255 million was used to purchase 2 saloon vehicles for one officer. It is a very grave irony. The cost of average vehicle needed to patrol the state is just N5 million. And with such fund, we will have put at least 51 patrol vehicles on the road, patrolling the streets of Lagos." "In spite of all this, they resist the idea of a state police. The money from the fund was in the last one year used to provide vehicles for the Nigerian Prison Service, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, National Security and Civil Defense Corps, NSCDC and indeed the airport wing of the Nigerian police, is funded from this money. And it is the same aviation ministry that manage the airport that we had this very odious car scandal of N255 million." PM News  |
| Super Eagles Fans React to Eagles’ Drop in FIFA Ranking!! Posted: 29 Nov 2013 06:33 AM PST  A cross section of Football fans on Thursday in Abuja expressed mixed reactions to the monthly FIFA ranking where Nigeria dropped three spots from the 33rd to 36th position. Some of them expressed surprise that given Super Eagles' performance in recent times and their qualification for the 2014 World Cup Nigeria would have moved up the ladder. James Peters, the Assistant Technical Director of the Nigeria Football Association (NFA), said he could not understand the criteria used in the ranking as Nigeria lost grounds in spite of improved performance. "I do not understand how they go about it because we have done very well in recent times. We also played a Grade A friendly match with Italy which ended 2-2. " I think by all standards, we should have moved up; but I don't seem to understand the method behind the ranking,'' he said. Peters said Super Eagles' 0-1 loss to Jordan on Oct. 29 in an international friendly match could not have been used because Nigeria fielded the home based players in the game. He said Nigerians should not be bothered by the ranking because "it does not reduce or add anything" to the Super Eagles. "I think we should not be bothered with the ranking because it does not affect our performance. "If we were to go by that, we would not have qualified for the world cup, because they didn't rate us well. "So, I think we should be less bothered by it and keep doing what we are doing and do it well,'' Peters said. Mr Victor Orji, President, Federation of Public Service Games (FEPSGA), said the drop in the ranking would make the Super Eagles to work harder. "No matter what the criteria is, it is okay by us because it will make us work harder. When you are overrated, it could be dangerous. "So, as it is now, it will spur us to work harder and be what we are aspiring to be with our national team,'' Orji said. A sports journalist, Kehinde Abdulrahman, said he was not surprised by the drop but was worried by the steps the Super Eagles lost. "I was not really surprised that we dropped but with the fact that we dropped by three spots. I was expecting just one spot because of our loss to Jordan. "I felt that our victory over Ethiopia in the World Cup qualifier and the draw with Italy should make us to avoid dropping. | Governor Oshiomhole Apologizes over ''Go And Die'' Comments to a widow! Posted: 29 Nov 2013 06:22 AM PST  Gov. Adams Oshiomhole of Edo today Friday November 29th apologized for the comments he made to a widow in Benin during an inspection tour on Mission Road, in the state capital, a fortnight ago. Oshiomhole said that he now regretted the comments which had become the subject of discourse in the social media. The Governor said that he made the comments in anger. The governor's apology was made when the leadership of the Federation of Muslim Women's Association of Nigeria (FOMWAN), paid him a courtesy visit in Benin. He noted that though the challenge of modern times had bestowed on the shoulders of some women and single mothers the status of bread winners of their homes, such should not be used as an accuse to flout the laws. The Governor urged the Muslim women leaders to use their offices to propagate the essence of healthy living among children and women in the nation and the need to maintain proper sanitary conditions in their neighbourhoods. Oshiomhole lamented that the challenge of widowhood had also exposed children to different temptations, adding that there was the need for society to be careful, to avoid unwittingly creating more problems for the nation. He noted that money was not the best thing that guaranteed ones happiness, "but honesty and selfless service. The Governor added that if Muslims and Christians were adequately committed to their religious doctrines, the world would be a better place. He urged the women to propagate the message of Islam through the nooks and crannies of the nation, and to also inculcate the values of honesty in their followers. Oshiomhole, however, assured the association of government's support in ensuring that its present leadership made remarkable progress and also consolidated on the successes of their predecessors. Earlier, the FOMWAN National President, Hajia Amina Omoti, urged the state government to look into the issue of the teaching of Islamic Religious Studies in public schools in the state. | 18-Yr-Old Teen Arrested for Insulting Gombe State Governor On Facebook! Posted: 29 Nov 2013 06:12 AM PST  An 18-year-old Umar Abdullahi has been remanded in prison custody for allegedly insulting Governor Ibrahim Dankwambo on Facebook.The accused was arraigned before the court on November 17 for allegedly using abusive words against the governor on Facebook. The Prosecutor, Sardauna Wukuma, told the court at a resumed hearing that the police were still investigating the matter. He further applied for adjournment to enable the police to complete investigations on the matter.According to the Prosecutor, the offence was contrary to the Penal Code Law of Gombe State.The Pantami Magistrates' Court in Gombe State remanded Abdullahi at the Gombe prisons after he pleaded guilty to the charge before the court on November 27, 2013, Wednesday.The case has been adjourned till December 12, 2013, for sentencing.  |

Posted: 29 Nov 2013 05:32 AM PST  Former Ghanaian international footballer Nii Odartey Lamptey has revealed that he recently found out that all three children he had with his wife of almost 20 years are not his biological children. He made the shocking revelation in a radio interviewed when asked why he was divorcing his wife. "...I thought they were my children but upon a DNA test, I got to know that they are not my biological children. The issue is in court so I'm pleading, because it is a legal issue I don't want to go through so many things, but I am 100% sure that the children are not mine after 20-years of marriage. We had five children but two passed away so we were left with only 3 and they are not mine" The former Aston Villa player told reportersMeanwhile, his estranged wife Gloria Lamptey (pictured above) is claiming that it was Lamptey who suggested they use artificial insemination after realizing he was infertile. [PHOTOS] Posted: 29 Nov 2013 04:40 AM PST   Nigeria's Got Talent season 2 premiered last weekend and people have been flooding the audition centres to display their talent. During the audition in Calabar, Cross Rivers state, one of the judges, Dan Foster, Inspiration FM On Air personality fell on the fall laughing at one of the contestant's comedy presentation. According to Dan Foster: "I haven't laughed this hard in quite a long time. Your jokes are almost as good as the ones that the professional comedians we have in the industry tell." Expect anything to happen on TV, expect everything to happen on reality TV.  |
