| Governor Amaechi Donates The Total N15m Needed For OJB's Kidney Transplant? Posted: 03 Jul 2013 01:00 PM PDT   Sources say the governor has shown that he is indeed a man with a heart of gold as he has wholly donated the complete N15million needed to save OJB's life as a result of his kidney problems. Some close friends of OJB, who have been disgraced by many celebrities they had approached for money, were said to have gone to a popular Lagos-based newspaper editor; the man contacted Governor Amaechi on OJB's behalf and he responded promptly. Although Nomoreloss, who is in charge of OJB's donations is claiming ignorance of the development, but a say said Governor Amaechi will deliver the total money to OJB on Friday. | Man Beaten & Burnt Alive For Stealing A Gold Necklace Posted: 03 Jul 2013 12:50 PM PDT  I thought these act of jungle justice only happen in Nigeria but i was wrong. Are Africans humans or just sheep in wolves clothing? The commission of the 8th district of Douala in Cameroon, confirmed this incident. The victim goes by the name Solo and he happened to be a popular guy in the neighborhood with an history of assault and robbery. On Friday 21st June, there was a vigil in the neighborhood, during that vigil, Solo allegedly stole a gold chain and a phone and flew away. The angered residents present at the vigil swore to skin him alive the next day and unfortunately for him, he was found and dealt with on Saturday June 22nd. According to eye witness, Solo was wearing the gold chain on his neck and had the sim card from the phone he had stolen the previous night when the person he had stolen from found him and collected his belongings. He was asked to go away after the stolen items were collected from him but the residents refused him to leave, saying it wasn't the first time he had stolen things from them, that they would have arrested him but they don't trust the police nor the court, so they preferred to take laws into their hands and burn him to death.  The people took him to Brazzaville neighborhood where he had stole the items and began beating him with clubs and sticks, then they pour gasoline on him, out him in the middle of tires and set him ablaze. After burning him, they continued torturing him before the police arrived at the scene. From the horrific video which i can't post here, he seemed alive but convulsing when the police arrived and the crowd started shouting "how come he is still breathing? He must die!"  Even while the police were there, they couldn't calm the crowd as the people continued throwing stones at Solo and even ran over him with a motorcycle without the police doing nothing. His body was finally dragged on the ground to a car which wasn't a police van and he was taken away.  |

Her name is Oluwaseun Adaramoye, Seun for short. Her breast, private part and others were cut off. Below are the facts: Seun left her home on Friday for her boyfriend's place, who is also an undergraduate of the institution. He was said to have arranged with her to accompany him to a party somewhere in town. Trying to play smart, the boyfriend later went to her friends and told them Seun had been missing for a few days and he was looking for her. Hon. Rotimi Amaechi miraculously escaped unhurt as a suspicious vehicle rammed into his convoy along Igwuruta road while he was on his way to the Port Harcourt International Airport. The incident, according to eyewitness was caused by a Toyota Avensis, with registration number, AAA 767 AQ, that rammed into the Governor's convoy from the opposite side of the dual carriageway, just after the C4I Security Post, along the Port Harcourt International Airport Road. | Five Yahoo Yahoo Boys To Go To Prison After Conning Man Of 53 Million Naira Posted: 03 Jul 2013 06:14 AM PDT  A Lagos High Court presided over by Justice Christopher Balogun yesterday admitted as exhibits, three laptops and two internet modems tendered as evidence in a case of internet fraud and obtaining money by pretext filed against suspected fraudsters (a.k.a Yahoo boys). The suspects, Chris Nwaigwe (34), Farouk Balogun (28), Fawas Animashaun (29), Damilola Ali (28) and Olasunkanmi Banire (27), were first arraigned on October 31, 2012 on a 21-count charge bordering on forgery, obtaining money by pretext and internet fraud. The defendants were alleged to have on April 27, 2012 within the Ikeja Judicial Division, with intent to defraud, conspired to obtain $210,000,00 equivalent of N53,577.597 million from one Kabiru Sanni. While admitting the exhibits, Balogun dismissed the objection of the defence counsel and ordered that items be taken as evidence. Earlier, a prosecution witness, Babatunde Shittu of the Advance Fee Fraud, AFF, department of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, told the court that the defendants were arrested following a petition written by one Kabiru Sanni, a bureau de change operator. Narrating how the defendants were arrested, Shittu said: "We told Mr. Sanni to set up a meeting with the first defendant at one eatery in Lekki where we arrested him and took him to his house at No 13, Bamgbala Street, Elegushi, Lagos. "When we got to his resident, we recovered two laptops, two internet modems and a laptop charger which we took to our office along with the defendants."  |

These Men Pose As Beggars To Rob People Posted: 03 Jul 2013 05:28 AM PDT  The kidnapper, Emeka Agbaji, was nabbed with Emmanuel Omoseni and Michael Edom after abducting two friends, Samsudeen Olatunde and Daramola Bisoye, along Lekki-Epe Expressway, in Ajah. Emeka Agbaji, a 31-year-old man, said the first step in their modus operandi was to get their potential victim to relax. According to him, the element of surprise always worked in their favour. He explained that one of them disguised as a beggar on the day they were arrested after kidnapping the two friends. Agbaji said the victims had parked their vehicle in order to urinate when the 'beggar' approached them and started asking for money. He added that the distraction aided the gang to abduct them. He said, "The victims had alighted from a vehicle along the Lekki-Epe Expressway to urinate. One of our gang members, who disguised as a beggar, asked one of them to give him money. Out of sympathy, the driver gave him N100 and he prostrated in gratitude. "As the driver wanted to enter the car, he (the beggar) started dragging the door with the driver. In the confusion, we came out with guns and kidnapped them." On his part Michael Edom, a commercial bus driver, said he joined the gang because kidnapping was the most lucrative job to do. "I do two jobs – driving a commercial bus and working as conductor. My routes are Ajah to Lakwe and Ajah to Obalende and CMS. Anytime I did conductor's work, I used to get N1, 000 and above daily but driving gives me N3, 000 and above daily. "Sometimes, I sell pure water and I get commission on each bag I sell. It was financial difficulty that made me to join the gang. There was nothing I had not tried to get reasonable money, yet I kept failing. So, I joined the gang of kidnappers." He said lived in an uncompleted building which also served as a place where their victims were kept. But Emmanuel Omoseni, who claimed to be a nursery school teacher, said he joined the gang because he was owed two months'salary. The Ondo State indigene said, "I teach at a nursery and primary school behind General Paint. I had not been paid two months' salary. So, when my friend, Michael, approached me to join the gang, it was too tempting to reject. "I ended up not getting a kobo after the botched operation. Although I escaped arrest initially, I was going to school in the morning when policemen arrested me. My only regret is that I did not get a kobo from the job and my wife is in the village with three of my children."  |

| TRAGIC: See Photo Of Man That Was Hit By Moving Train Posted: 03 Jul 2013 05:07 AM PDT  A young man was hit by a moving train this past weekend as he was walking into on the tracks along Agege motor road by Airport bus stop, Ikeja. According to reports, the man had his ears covered with ear phones as he walked on the train tracks which prevented him from hearing the train approaching. He was then knocked down by the moving train. Sympathizers approached the scene of the accident and proceeded to rescue the man. The hit maker, bugged by increasing complaints and reported incidents, says he's worried and beyond scandalised, that some bandits would go to any length to perpetrate evil acts and defraud innocent fans and customers. The EME act spoke today in Lagos, while reacting to on-going investigations on recent discoveries and arrests. "It's unfair that fraudsters will take advantage of unsuspecting victims. The culprit has been apprehended and all is being done to make sure such incidents don't reoccur." Wizkid said. An EME impostor is currently in police custody. He was handed over to the police by his latest victim- Muyiwa. Muyiwa also known as 'Origin' started transactions with the impostor, only to discover he was being duped and quickly handed him over to the police. Meanwhile, EME Chairman Banky W who has himself been a victim of impersonation, says the label is putting all structures in place, while working with relevant authorities to make sure the trend is put to a stop. | 10 Ibadan Traders Killed By Boko Haram: Tears As Bodies Arrive In Ibadan Posted: 03 Jul 2013 02:02 AM PDT  Govt consoles families THE grim import of the murder of 10 Ibadan traders by the Boko Haram sect was felt yesterday in the Oyo State capital. Women were crying as the bodies were offloaded from a truck. Men were shaking their heads in deep dejection as the caskets were lined up in a row at the Bodija market. The traders, who were beans sellers, went to Borno State — the heart of the sect's insurgency— to buy beans for sale in Ibadan when they ran into an ambush by the deadly sect members. They were killed in a most gruesome manner. A survivor of the attack, Taoheed Adewuyi, 32, recounted the chilling moments of the attack, in the early hours of Friday in Munguno, Borno State. They left Ibadan on Thursday. He said: "God saved me from the attack. They stopped us along the way and asked us to come down from the vehicle and lie down. They thereafter started shooting us one after the other as we lay on the ground. I was the third on the row. I was shot but the bullet did not hit me very well. I was gone. It was after an hour that I discovered that I was still alive." Asked how he was so sure that the attackers were Boko Haram members, he said: "When they discovered that one of the victims was still breathing, one of the attackers went into their car pulled a knife with which he 'slaughtered' him. I almost cried out at that time but I could not do so. Our man who was slaughtered was Ninalowo (a.k.a AY). "I'm sure they were Boko Haram members". The bodies were received at the Ibadan/Egbeda toll gate, amidst tight security, by a delegation of over 1000 traders and sympathisers, led by the Babaloja of Oyo State, Chief Dauda Adisa Oladapo. The dead are: Seye Adegboyega, Jelili Popoola, Ojo Mosobalaje, Fatai Kareem and Femi Oyetunde. The other are: Ninalowo Saheed, Saburu Lanlehin , Lekan Oladokun, Sola Adeoye and Nurudeen Lawal. Bodija Market Union spokesman, Akeem Emiola gave the list of the victims. Security was tight as the bodies were brought into the ancient city at about 3.30pm in two white Fiat buses marked Lagos GGE 96 XD and Abuja AA317 RBC. Security was tight at the scene. There were 12 police patrol vans, one Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC) and police trucks were deployed to forestall crisis. It was gathered that majority of the victims were mainly apprentices in the business. Two of the traders, Ibrahim Ademola and Taoheed Azeez Adewuyi, escaped narrowly. Emiola said he could not confirm that 25 people were killed as being speculated in some quarters. "We cannot confirm that. What we know is that 10 of our people were killed; may be it's true that 25 people were killed, we don't know." As the brown caskets were being brought out of the vehicles, the traders, families and sympathisers who had waited hours wept uncontrollably. They lamented the havoc Boko Haram had created for the family of the victims. Four other traders were allegedly killed by the sect on May 5. Shops and stalls were firmly shut at the market yesterday. The market and its environs wore a gloomy mood. Oladapo urged the Federal Government, which has declared a state of emergency in Yobe, Borno and Adamawa, to take drastic measures against the Boko Haram insurgency. "Is it after they have killed all of us that the government will act? Many of us have been killed," he lamented. Oladapo said the death of the traders would lead to scarcity of beans in the market, adding that most of the traders are no longer willing to travel to the North. At the scene, Oyo State Commissioner for Trade and Investment Mr Adebayo Olagbenro Kareem said: condemned the killings, saying the government would address the crisis. He prayed for the repose of the deceased and urged their families to take it as the will of God. Fatai Kareem, a brother to one of the victims, said they were calling his younger brother's phone number but he did not pick it up while on the trip. Unknown to them, he had been killed. " Our mother died just last year and we are still mourning her. Now it is our brother. He was the youngest of the six children of our parents. We cannot tell the members of our family about his death because it is going to be very devastating. "I did not know that the day he was traveling to buy beans will be the last day I would see him. Boko Haram men have done their worst and I know God will judge them accordingly." Abiala Emmanuel, a friend to one of the victims, said the late Sola Adeoye was preparing for his brother's marriage next week. "We were friends for over three years. He was a cool person who could not hurt a fly. He was kind and generous towards his parents. I learnt they used matchette to cut him and that his body was not found," Emmanuel said. Emmanuel, who was wailing, recalled that it was the second time the deadly sect has killed traders from the market. The head of the Hausa community in Bodija market Alhaji Isiyaka Hassan, called on the government to provide adequate security in the community. The Hausa community in the market also gathered to mourn the slain traders. The Sarkin Hausawa, who spoke in Yoruba, said what happened to the traders was disheartening. He said: "It is disturbing because it is beyond our powers and disheartening because of the innocent souls that were killed without any just cause." He called for adequate security in the market for fear of reprisal from angry traders against Northerners. Hassan prayed God to rescue Nigerian from the hands of evil men who kill under the guise of religion. He recalled that the traders in the popular Bodija were brothers and sisters, who have been living in peaceful for decades, irrespective of tribe or religion. "We are brothers and sisters here without any quarrel. We share things together and we don't have any cause to disagree. It is the evil people who are planning to a division among us, but Isha Allah they shall not succeed ", Hassan said. Those in the neighbourhood expressed fear that the traders could become violent. A banker, who simply gave her name as Tonia, said: "We expect the security agencies to be on standby to curtail violent reaction from the traders who are in a tense mood because of the tragic news." A woman trader, Mrs. Titi Odejayi, urged the government to ensure protection of lives and property. She said: "We warned our people to stop going to the place (North) until peace is restored. How can you risk being killed because of means of survival? "The government should seek a lasting solution to the issue of Boko Haram." Another trader, Mutiu Jamiu, who linked the surge in food stuff to insecurity in the North, said: "The situation in the North demands urgent attention before it spreads to other parts. Already, we are experiencing the pain of the trouble."  |
