Police Arrest Islamic Cleric Who Buys Dead Bodies From Hospitals & Sell Body Parts To Ritualists! Posted: 12 Jul 2014 11:11 AM PDT Operatives of the Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS), at the Lagos state police command, Ikeja has arrested an Islamic cleric, Alfa Rilawan Saula accused of specializing in buying dead bodies especially that of  new born for onward sale to his clients. Also in police custody are two nurses Bolaji Fagbemi and Lasisi Olayinka who were alleged to be supplying newborns or unclaimed corpses from their hospital to Saula for a fee. Bubble busted when the Commissioner of Police, Umaru Manko got information that Saula who has been on the wanted list of the police had resurfaced and still in the same business of selling human parts. He drafted the officer in charge of the SARS, SP Abba Kyari who lured Saula out of his hiding place at Agege. In the course of investigation, Saula led the police to arrest two other herbalists who claim that they relied on his ability to provide dry human skulls for them. They are Alhaji Surajudeen Faronbi and Taofeek Abidakun who allegedly confessed that they only demand for dried up human skulls which they grind and mix with herbs to cure different ailments. Still wondering how he fell into the police trap, Saula told Saturday Sun that he delved into the business six years ago when it appeared that there was much demand for human skull. "I am a trained herbalist and I sell roots. Along the line people started demanding for special medicine to cure very difficult ailments and to do that I needed a skull and human parts. Those days, we normally visit burial grounds every Friday to exhume fresh bodies and look for skulls that are dried up. "To cure stroke, you need to grind the skull and mix them with herbs. This has cured several of my customers. I had to stop the business when the police invaded our shops and arrested us. I was lucky that there was no incriminating thing in the office, so they had no choice but to release me.  Although I had stopped, people who knew that I was doing that business kept demanding for human skull. Most especially, they kept requesting for fresh baby skull. The demand was becoming much, so I started sourcing for baby skull in hospitals especially maternities. I knew quite well that most of the new born babies that die are thrown away or burnt.  I contacted some nurses especially those working in trado-medical clinics. It was then that I met Bolaji who promised  to contact me anytime they have a still birth and she kept to her word", he explained. On his arrest, Saula stated that he never knew that the man who offered him N100, 000 for a skull was a policeman. "Bolaji called me that a baby died in the hospital that she was on her way to bring it to me. I quickly called the highest bidder but I never knew he is a police officer. The truth is that we only make use of dead human skulls. The potency of herbs are stronger when you mix it with a human skull." One of the nurses and the brain behind the sale of dead children, Bolaji said that she knew Saula many years ago as a herbalist. "He was the one who introduced me to Alahji Hassan Sikiru, the owner of a Ikeoluwa trado medical clinic located at no 31 Kayode Olaniyan street, AIT road, Ayetobi Alagbado, Lagos. I was employed as a nurse and I promised to assist him to get dead bodies especially that of babies whenever it is available. "On June 16, 2014  one of our pregnant patients delivered an abnormal baby girl and within 24 hours, the baby died. The family begged the doctor to assist them to bury the child.  I was asked to go along with Lasisi, but on our way, I was able to convince her to return back that I can handle the burial. Immediately, I rushed to Saula house and delivered the corpse of the baby. We agreed that as soon as the buyers collect the corpse, that I will receive my payment. I was still in the hospital when the policemen came and arrested me," Bolaji stated. Begging for forgiveness, Bolaji said that she decided to supply dead new born babies to Saula since the parents do not have need of their corpses. "Most families will always ask us to help them bury or throw away the dead child. This baby girl was born deformed, and within 24 hours she died. We contacted her husband and he told us to go ahead and bury the child. The baby was confirmed dead and the parents gave their consent that she should be buried or thrown into the dustbin. I am sorry that instead of throwing her away, I decided to sell her to the herbal doctor, Saula." Weeping and begging that she should not be included in the matter, Lasisi said that she never knew that Bolaji had plans to sell the dead child. "She convinced me to go back when I started complaining that the distance was much. I have been a trado-medical nurse in that clinic for the past six years. At the age of 39, I still have hope that God will send my husband to me. Please do not publish my picture so that men will not run away from me," She pleaded. The others, Alhaji Faronbi and Abidakun who are herbal doctors claim that they bought human skulls from Saula many years ago. They also revealed that they're used to prepare herbal medicine for certain illnesses that are stubborn. "If you have stroke, epilepsy, advanced case of fibroid and so many others, you will need to mix the grinded human skull to the portion to be potent. Sometimes it also takes the water gotten from the grinded skull of a new born baby to get a woman pregnant," Alhaji Faronbi explained. "We do not steal them, if you visit the public cemetery; there are so many old human skeletons that were exhumed to give way for the burial of others. We felt that was where, Saula normally gets his supply from," Abidakun further explained. Police uncover plans by Boko Haram to Bomb Abuja transport service! [READ] Posted: 12 Jul 2014 11:11 AM PDT Here is a Police press statement signed by Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Frank Mba... Credible intelligence reports at the disposal of the Nigeria Police indicate that terrorists have perfected plot to carry out attacks on the Abuja transport sector. The attacks which are intended to cause panic amongst Abuja residents and visitors alike are planned to be perpetrated through suicide bombings, or through the use of Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) concealed in luggage, bags, cans, and other receptacles. The Police High Command therefore, while ordering FCT Commissioner of Police in particular and other CPs in adjoining States to beef-up security at major parks around Abuja and its environs, enjoins the general public, particularly those within and outside the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja to be roundly vigilant and report any suspicious persons, objects, movements or activities to the Security Forces without delay. Pastor who was accused of running a ritualist den in Ikorodu finally tells his side of the story! [Photo] Posted: 12 Jul 2014 11:12 AM PDT Ernest Nwankwo, theGeneral Overseer House of Mercy, accused of running a ritualist' den in Ikorodu, has finally told his own side of the story.(READ HERE If you Missed the story) The pastor was arrested after one of his church members, Mrs Rosemary Chukwu, abducted a 6 year old boy in her neighborhood and told police after she was caught that her pastor Ernest Nwankwo had sent her to bring the boy. Speaking about the incident for the first time, Nwankwo told Vanguard he doesn't even know the lady "I do not know how these allegations of ritual actions against me started. My ministry has existed for 17 years and we have never been associated with any bad thing or any untoward allegation. We have been doing well in carrying out God's work since we came into existence. We have rehabilitation center where mad people are healed. Relations of such people bring them to our ministry and also stay with them until they are healed after which they will go home. We do not charge them, we feed them free. So, the ministry has been flourishing in all our branches. Continue... "When I got to the office on Wednesday, June 15 to do some work and leave for Abuja for another programme, within 20 minutes, around 7.30am, a group of people, armed with dangerous weapons invaded our ministry, breaking down everything at sight. They also descended on our members who were over 50 in attendance for the morning worship. They were over 300 and were ferociously destroying all the properties and manhandling everybody. It was like hell was let loose on us. They were armed to the teeth and were unrestrained in their bid to destroy everything in the ministry. They not only subjected our members to serious beating, they also took all their bags and stripped all the women and children naked. I was inside the office when they invaded the place but they later broke into my office and descended on me. We were all seriously wounded and our bodies covered with blood.  RESCUE Surprisingly, four of the hoodlums took pity on me and rescued me from their clutches as they were hitting my head with cutlasses and dangerous weapons. They took me to Owutu police station where I made a statement. When they asked me how it started, I could not explain but simply told them that some hoodlums invaded our ministry for no just cause. It was while we were there that the people that rescued me told us that a woman claimed I sent her to kidnap somebody's child. It was like a fairy tale to me. Before the police I asked for the identity of the woman and why she claimed I told her to kidnap somebody and they said it was for ritual purposes. After I recovered from the shock, the policemen then advised that I should go and treat myself because I was bleeding profusely as a result of the beating. I then proceeded to the hospital for treatment only to start reading in the papers the following day a lot of other damaging stories and that I was on the run. I personally reported to the police at Owutu in Ikorodu after treating myself and also personally reported at Panti the following day on a Monday.  AT PANTI By Thursday morning, unfounded rumours were flying every where. On Friday, while I was going to treat myself, I quickly sent my lawyer to Panti after hearing the rumours flying everywhere about me and that the case was transferred to Panti. My lawyer told them that I personally reported to the police at Owute after the incident and that I was allowed to go and treat myself. He then wrote an undertaking to produce me the next Monday and we all came to Panti that Monday straight from the General hospital Ikeja where I had an x-ray.   Even one of my ribs was said to have cracked and I sustained other serious injuries.  INTERROGATION AT PANTI I can't remember seeing or meeting the woman before. A lot of people come to my ministry so, it will be very difficult for me to know all of them. However, the police at Panti interrogated both of us and, in fact, when they brought her before me, I could not remember seeing her in life and I told the policemen this fact. I can't even remember whether she called me on telephone or not because I cannot say the number of people that call me on telephone for my number is open and given to people freely to help in solving their spiritual problems. Nevertheless, the police interrogated both of us, she claimed that Holy spirit told her that I should give her N2.5 million, and that she came and told me to give her the money but I told her that I had no money, that she came back again to me and requested for the money and I then told her to go and bring a child before I will give her the money. I then asked her where we discussed this, if she has any evidence to show that she ever visited my ministry because visitors to the ministry always register their names before seeing me, or if there is any other evidence to show that we discussed that kind of thing. I punctured her story because I cannot understand what concerns me with her message with her Holy spirit.  SUCKING BLOOD She also claimed that I have been seeing her in the spirit to suck her blood and that of her daughter with two gallons since she failed to bring a child to me. She claimed that I used to stand at her door for two days, tormenting her, and that was why she had to go for the child when she was caught. I asked her where we met and discussed because I have been out of town for two weeks and how did she know that I came back. She said she was aware that I came back because I used to carry out consultations. It is well known by everybody that my consultation days are announced for members of the public to come and be healed. She also claimed she called me on phone in December last year and that she came to the ministry once this year but she could not substantiate where we discussed her claims. She was thoroughly interrogated but she kept on contradicting herself as if she was either insane or under a spell. Unfortunately, her daughter she claimed I was sucking her blood with hers whom she said was 14 years was not there during the interrogation. I had hoped that she was there for us all to be able to decipher what her mother was talking about because she is old enough to speak for her self at 14. I have never had this kind of ugly experience and I pray never to have it again. I also pray that the police should endevour to get to the route of this case because I have suffered so much over a matter I do not know anything about.  KIDNAP SAGA The man that was shown saying he was kidnapped and brought from Anambra State is one of the mad people undergoing treatment in my ministry. The cousin that brought him to the ministry is Mr. Atuanya, a member of my ministry and his wife has been with him in the ministry while he was undergoing treatment. They are living witnesses and they are ready to testify to anybody that cares to know the truth. This rumor against me is very painful to me because I suffered for over fourteen years to build this ministry to serve mankind. All of a sudden, and from the pit of hell, an unknown figure materialized from no where to pour odium on me and accuse me of ritual acts. In all these years, nobody has ever complained or petitioned against my activities in the ministry. Instead, people have been pouring encomiums and giving glory to God for all we have been doing for mankind. The whole thing is still like a dream and I pray I would wake up and testify that it was really a dream. My ministry operates an open door policy, we have no go areas, both visitors and members of the ministry are never restricted even up to my personal office. Why must I send her to bring a child to me when I am happily married with children, what will I do with the child?  INCALCULABLE DAMAGE This very ugly development has affected me psychologically in a tremendous way, the emotional trauma is untold. In terms of the good will I built over the years, the name, in fact, one cannot quantify the degree of destruction done to me by this very ugly and unfounded, mischievous rumor. I have suffered and lost almost everything because the ugly news went beyond the shores of this country. People have been calling from all the parts of the world and you know that bad news travels faster than any other thing. It is very unfortunate that people believe such a story when there is nothing at all to hang it on the head of the prophet. And, when you look at the woman, you will know that she is some how deranged and we are convinced that by the time police finish their investigation, the truth will be out.  WHY ME? What I cannot fathom is why she choose to tell all these lies against me. She may have been sent by somebody to run me down because people in that neighborhood said they saw one mysterious SUV hovering around in the wee hours before the incident and also the mother of the victim reportedly said she saw an exotic vehicle that later picked up her children,. Police should investigate to find out who owns the vehicle and where they were taken to. Who ever picked her children must have a link with this incident. Police should also find out whether this is the first time she is doing this kind of thing and if it is not, how many people must have falling victims to her antics? Worse still, so far, nobody has told us where the woman is from because the way the media descended on the ministry, they left out the main ingredient of the whole matter as if they were sponsored to run down the ministry. All I know is that she cannot be doing this alone. Her sponsors should be fished out. So far, the police has been professional in their interrogation and they made us understand that investigations will take time and that the truth must surely surface.  INSIDE THE CELL Inside the cell, I detested being treated like a criminal but I took it as another message point in terms of ministration after all, Jesus went through worst tribulation in life. Nigeria Troops uncover Boko haram’s underground armoury stretching from Bauchi to Jigawa & to sambisa forest in Borno state. Posted: 12 Jul 2014 10:34 AM PDT The Defence Headquarters is still counting the gains of the recent capture of Balmo Forest in Bauchi State from Boko Haram. The military authorities said yesterday that  troops uncovered an underground armoury owned by the Islamic sect in the forest which  stretches from Bauchi to Jigawa and to the fringes of Sambisa Forest in Borno State. Recovered from the armoury  were more than 80 General Purpose Machine Guns and  tubes of Rocket Propelled Grenades(RPGs). Besides,over 20 insurgents arrested from the forest  are  undergoing interrogation, according to Director of Defence Information, Maj-Gen. Chris Olukolade. The claims could not be independently verified last night. However,Gen.Olukolade,in the statement,said: "The mopping up operation in Balmo forest is yielding more discoveries of arms stockpiled in underground cells in the forest. "Troops who have been excavating various sites in the forest in search of hidden weapons, have so far recovered over 10 rifles along with parts and accessories as well as more than 80 General Purpose Machine Guns, tubes of Rocket Propelled Grenades and Launchers, cables, wires and thousands of rounds of assorted ammunition. "Also recovered in the search are uniforms of security agencies including protective clothing. "Meanwhile, suspects captured in the forest have been taken into custody and they are volunteering information linking the activities in the forest with other terrorist activities in the country. "The mopping up operation continues" Although,the  statement  was silent on the number of captured insurgents, a  top military source said: "They are over 20 insurgents in custody from the forest providing clues on the operation of the sect. "We decided not to publish their photographs for strategic reasons. We do not want the sect to know who among  their members in Balmo Forest  are  still alive or not. "But some of those captured were in charge of armoury for Boko Haram. They are helping ongoing investigation." Responding to a question, the military source added: "The recovered arms and ammunition and the arrested insurgents have been moved to a military facility where security agencies are also collaborating to source vital information from them." £25m Cocaine uncovered in fake bananas in London! [Photos] Posted: 12 Jul 2014 10:35 AM PDT A £25m cocaine haul has been found hidden inside fake plastic bananas brought to the UK from Colombia. Four men have been arrested in Lambeth and Kent after a surveillance operation followed the drugs, which weighed 150kg (23st), to a warehouse. Metropolitan Police said the illicit stash arrived at Dover at 6am on Thursday and was delivered by lorry to a trading estate in Hartlip, Kent. A man was seen unloading the shipment and locking up the warehouse. Detectives kept watch over the warehouse while others followed three Colombian men to an internet cafe in Stockwell, south London, where they are believed to have picked up email instructions relating to the drugs. The men were arrested as they left the cafe. Police from the MPS Special Projects Team forced their way into the warehouse on Thursday night and found the cocaine compressed and hidden in boxes alongside real bananas. Interestingly, in this interview with TheNATION, the single mother of one opens up her bitter-sweet experience in life...  How is it like coming from a polygamous family, considering that many people say awful tales about it? In Yoruba, they say, "Ile olorogun, eta'nu ma wa ni ibe". But I think it has to do with individuals. I enjoy my childhood and I am proud of my parents. They had their own mistakes and they made their own choices. I also had my own mistakes and I have my own choices to make.  So, I will not come out and say anything awful about my family because I have my own stepsisters and stepbrothers. If my father didn't have them with their mum, I probably would not have brothers and sisters to call my own. So, I will say it is a blessing to me. Though I am not propagating polygamy, it is part of Africa. When did you start leaving independently of your parents? When I say I was alone that time, I mean that everybody was going about his or her business and nobody wanted to really understand how you were feeling psychologically. It was just me in my world, so one could do some naughty things through peer group influence. I won't advise parents to leave their children alone. They should try and understand how they feel, even in their decision-making because you might not know where you have left them alone. Did that also result in your dropping out of school? Yes. You know, you can just stray away without looking back, if you refuse to listen to what people are saying. My mother was extremely strict and she shaped me with proverbs. The proverbs were enough strokes of the cane that will last you a lifetime.  I missed with friends who didn't think of the future but the present and you could just play away your lectures, exam dates, tests and assignments. That is it why I still maintain that it is you as an individual. I guess that was also the period you got pregnant? Yes, that was the period. I had my baby; and like I said, you now have to start correcting the mistake you have made. All in all, it was a wonderful experience that I can never trade away today. I thank God I had him then, though early. As I said earlier, my youth really got me prepared for what lies ahead of me. As an individual, I already knew what I wanted and how I wanted it, so I would just say it is a blessing that it happened then. How old were you then? I was 17. You mum must have been very disappointed in you, knowing that she was always cautioning you. She took me in, washed me, cleaned me up and put my feet firmly on ground such that I had to start and do it right. I would say ever since then, our bond got tighter as mother and child. She is a mother any human being will ever wish for. A lot of people gave her all sorts of advice. Did she feel she didn't do enough to caution you? She just attributed it to destiny. I am the only child; so, if I had to be at home, I would be locked up in the house. But as a mischievous child, I devised a means of still going out to play with my friends. Of course, it wasn't anything naughty. But a child needs people around him or her. So, it is not really nice when a child is alone in a massive compound because he or she might get naughty. And at times, you get tired of being alone. So, you wanted to explore? Yes, you are right. And then, you abused the freedom in the process? When the people who are supposed to shape you are not around, you tend to miss your ways. I guess that was what happened and I made my mistakes in time and corrected them in time. Did you attempt to abort the pregnancy? Yes, I did. But it didn't work for me. How? I was asked to use some pills; but you know, destiny is destiny. He was meant to come and he came. He couldn't even be aborted. There are children out there whose parents did everything humanly possible to terminate them, but they still came. There are reasons why the abortion would fail and it is only God who knows the reason. And if you are lucky not to get it terminated, you will see the reason. Honestly, I don't think it is a good option, but it is as old as prostitution. Why did you consider abortion when you knew the man who was responsible for the pregnancy? I was a teenager, so I probably would not have made any good decision on my own. I couldn't even allow my mum to know in time. In fact, I didn't even know I was pregnant until I was way gone, so that is why I said he is a destiny child. Like how many months? I was about five months gone! By the time I knew and thought of abortion, nobody would want to do that for me. What advice will you give teenagers who are pregnant now? I am worried about teenagers nowadays. I have seen and heard all sorts. I don't know what to do, but I just believe that God, the government, the NGOs, parents, teachers, guardians and good citizens of Nigeria should help to shape the young ones coming behind us. They have lost it. The mistake I have made, I have been able to correct them by myself. But I have seen and heard of other cases where people could not correct themselves and their lives went in shambles. That you are not a graduate is not an excuse. Also, ignorance is not an excuse. If you don't learn a trade or do anything to improve your life and you expect manna to come from Heavens, you will either steal or prostitute; and if you do either of these, you will end up destroying your destiny. But if you know you have a good plan for yourself, you should try and stay under your parents and obey the laws. I am not saying you can't come across one or two misfortunes in life, but you can avoid it when you stay on the right tracks. Was it a case of infatuation or love? It was infatuation. It couldn't have been real love because I didn't know what real love was then. How do you relate to your son now? I relate to him very well. I call him my correction. Everything I did wrong, he is doing it right. He is 19 years old now and he is a wonderful young chap. Every mother will say that about her child. But when outsiders say that about your child, then, you know you are not trying to massage your ego. I thank God I have a good product in the society. I am not trying to praise him overboard, but he knows his boundaries; so, I thank God for everything. What is it like being a single parent? It is not a child's play at all. There was a time he lived with his dad because I have to fulfill all righteousness. He wanted him and we discussed it, so I allowed him to go. But circumstances still warranted me to be in the custody of the child now. So, raising him alone is a blessing to me. It has made me strong. Whatever decision I make, I make sure I put him into consideration. I thank God I am not lazy; at least, I have been able to feed him well, clothe him well and give him good education. It has not been easy, but being a single parent has made me who I am today. You are the only child of your mum and you have so far had only him, so aren't you bothered? I don't see it as something bizarre. I have loads of cousins and I have stepbrothers and stepsisters. But I am particular about your own? I am going to get married and I am going to have more children. But for now, it is just my career and me. My son is a grown-up; so, I am not nursing anymore. From experience, I want a real man, an African man. Well, not a tyrant. But then, he should be in charge. I want a father figure and I want my own husband. Why has it been hard for you to get a man who has all the qualities? I won't say hard because I sure have suitors. I am, however, waiting for the God-ordained one. I don't want to make any mistake. There are so many factors that lead to separation in marriage. If you marry outside the will of God, there will be a crack or separation along the line. It is a sacred thing. So, it should not be because you have come of age or because you desire it or because you are searching. If you rush into it, you will rush out of it. These are the things we should learn and accept in life. Some people are not meant to get married! So, I won't say because I have suitors, I will rush into marriage. A lot of them will tell you they will marry you, but iro ni won pa( they are lying). They probably just want to use you to 'pose' as their wife, given that you an actress. After three months, one year or so, it will pack up.  I have pressure from my mum and others to get married. They say they will buy gele and aso. But I might shock them because I might only pick gele. I don't want any elaborate ceremony.  So, it depends on what God has designed for me. I am not finding it hard to get a husband. At the set time, the right person will come my way. But some believe you don't want to get married because you have all that a man may want to give you? I tell a lot of guys that I can't have anything to do with them, but we can be friends because, at the end of the day, nothing good will come out of it. I can't allow myself to be used as a display thing. Some of them even have fiancés tucked abroad and they date you for months and years. Good News! ASUP Calls Off their 10 Month Old Strike! Polytechnics to resume Tuesday Posted: 12 Jul 2014 08:05 AM PDT   After over 10 months of closure, Nigerian polytechnics are to resume next week! Clement Chirman, the National Publicity Secretary of the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP), revealed this, confirming that the body has called off its over 10-month-old strike which began in October last year.     The decision to suspend the strike was taken during the National Executive Council (NEC) meeting of the union held this morning Saturday July 12th. All striking lecturers are expected to resume work by Tuesday July 15th! This is comming barely after two days after Ibrahim Shekarau was sworn in as Education Minister. Too Bad! How I killed, Drained Food Seller’s Son blood for money ritual – Suspect Reveal Posted: 12 Jul 2014 03:26 AM PDT   35 year-old apprentice, Muyideen Salaam a  at Aketegbo community in Seme, Badagry area of Lagos, gave this chilling confession of how he killed a 13 year-old boy, Rilwan Amuda, in his crave for materialism. The Ibadan-born suspect claimed he was tempted to opt for money ritual after his wife left with their two children when feeding became an uphill task for him. According to him: " I was alone in the video shop club owned by my master when one of my friends named Nuru came and said he knew someone who could make us rich . He told me all that was needed was just the blood of a boy of about 15 years of age. He said all I needed to do was to get the person since he had already contacted a herbalist. In my desperation, I told him we would take Rilawan, mama elewa's son since I had easy access to him because he usually ran errands for me and sometimes I gave him money and used closthes. We felt it was useless to go out and get someone else since Rilawan stayed in the same area with us. I made him understand that getting someone was not the problem but taking him to the herbalist's shrine where he would be killed. When we told baba our constraint, he gave Nuru a ring and instructed us to just touch whoever we wanted to bring with it , that the person would follow us without hesitation. On that fateful day, I called Rilwan and touched him with the ring . To my surprise, he became dumb and followed us to the shrine. We kept him there until it was dark . When it was midnight and there was no one in sight, we took him away from the shrine and laid him on the ground. While Nuru slashed his throat with a knife given to us by the herbalist, I held a bowl close to his neck for the blood to pour into it. Rilwan did not put up any resistance as promised by baba because he was hypnotized. And his memory was gone. After we collected the blood, we gave the bowl to baba and carried Rilawan's body far away from the shrine to avoid suspicion and dumped it on the expressway so as to give an impression that he was hit by a vehicle. We thereafter, went to bath with the blood as instructed by baba. He performed some rituals fore us and mixed the blood with a black native soap and gave us to bath with after which he said we would become rich. But after bathing with the substance, by the third day, we did not see any money as promised by baba. We were as poor as we used to be . We were so angry and decided to go to baba's place to fight with him. But on our way, Rilwan's mother held me and asked me to produce his son for him. She said she was informed that he was last seen with me. She vehemently refused to let go of my trouser even when I denied.  This caused a scene and people gathered around me and started beating me. Nuru who was with me managed to escape. Policemen from Seme division came and took me away. It was at that moment I opened up. But Nuru who lured me into it is nowhere to be found . I am left to bear the brunt alone . If I had known, I would have continued working for my master where I was paid N1,500 every month. The most painful aspect is that I do not have a mother, father, sister or brother. I am just all alone in the world. I do not want to die even though I partook in killing somebody ", he said in an emotional laden tone. After his arrest, policemen reportedly took him to the herbalist shrine where the suspect showed them the bowl that was used to drain Rilwan's blood. The herbalist identified as Soji Akodiya did not deny demanding for a human blood from Muyideen and his fleeing friend but he stated that the killing never took place in his shrine. Out of curiosity , this reporter was forced to ask why he looked so haggard and tattered when he could make money to take care of himself. In response,he looked at the reporter , smiled sheepishly and said, "you will not understand" Continuing he said : " Yes, I told them what they needed for money ritual was human blood. Because money ritual is one of the greatest tasks in our line. I told them they could either use their own blood for it but I believe they never wanted to and brought that of the boy. I was not around when the boy was slaughtered . I did not even know when they brought him. He was not even killed in my shrine…." But Muyideen interrupted saying "It is a lie. You knew when we brought him. It was even you that gave us knife and a bowl to put the blood. You even told us not to kill him in your shrine for security purpose and you were aware we were going to kill him that night". But the herbalist ignored the interjection and continued " I am a herbalist who speacialise in attending to barren women. I also help people to get jobs and also give charms to traders to sell more than their fellow traders. I collect, N50 to N500 , depending on what the oracle demands. It is then left for my clients to appreciate me.  I got money ritual charm from a colleague ten years ago when all herbalists went for a meeting in Ijebu-ode . Usually, what we do at such meeting is to help ourselves. For instance, if I have the cure for any disease and others do not, I will give to them and vice visa. That was how the baba gave all of us ogun owo (money ritual charm)and instructed us on how to administer  to our clients . I have never used it before, this is my first time. It was even when Nuru came to me that I realised I had the charm". Asked why it did work for the suspect and his fleeing partner in crime, the herbalist relied " it did not work because they did not follow my instruction. The instruction was to bathe with the prepared concoction nine days after its preparation but they used it on the third day. Had they followed the instruction, they would have noticed a total turn around in whatever they set their hands to do . Their businesses would have been lucrative . And if they leave N1000 in the bag, they would wake up to meet triple of what was there". Mystics. Pure mystics. It's unbelievable the extent many go to get rich. There are the politicians who believe that charms can make them powerful and transport them into powerful positions. Even when the efficacy of these rituals is in doubt, some people still believe that rituals can change their lives for the better. Evil men continue to chase their shadows. One thing is clear. Evil begets evil. There's a price for every bad thing. Those who indulge in these primitive and devilish tendencies never end up well. Another 9ja guy commits suicide by hanging himself on a rope in his room after he was jilted by his lover Posted: 12 Jul 2014 03:14 AM PDT   Another guy has committed suicide because his boo jilted him, 21-year-old student of Maritime Academy Oron, Effiong Otu committed suicide by hanging himself on a rope in his room on Thursday morning after he was jilted by his girl friend.According toreports,this happened on the same day he was marking the 10th  anniversary of his dad who died ina car accident. After the anniversary, his family members left the house and he went to a neighbour to borrow a rope. Moments later, the suspicious neighbours wondered why he needed a rope and went to check on him but found the door locked. Before  they broke down the door,he had passed on. Before hanging himself, he was said a called a friend telling him to tell a certain blessing at UNICEM that she should be happy he has killed himself over her... On the 6th of July,he posted the following message on Facebook "It's not about being engaged, married or in a relationship. It's about being happy, safe, secured, relieved and feeling good. The 21-yr-old undergraduate who hacked His father to death speaks again"My dad was a good father" (New Photo) Posted: 12 Jul 2014 03:00 AM PDT   The 21-yr-old undergraduate man has come out to say his father was a good man. He disclosed this when PUNCH met with him. Tolani Ajayi was cool and his mien was exceptionally calm. One could have mistaken him for a young man who had just rolled out of bed to answer a knock at the door. But what brought him to the Criminal Investigation Department of the Ogun State Police Command, Eleweran, Abeokuta was an unimaginable crime. The 21-year-old man's face betrayed no emotion safe for occasional easy smile that lightened up his face. One would notice immediately that Tolani was not a young man who was likely to have experienced much suffering in his life as despite his present condition, he was unmistakably handsome. When he sat down for the interview with Saturday PUNCH, he used his two hands to wipe his face as someone preparing for a good show in the glare of the camera. But Tolani had it all figured out in his head. "Why is that important?" he would say to one question, "I have answered that in my statement with the police," he would say to another question. He was prepared to frustrate any attempt to get him to give the gory details of how he hacked his 64-year-old father, Mr. Charles Ajayi, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria to death at a house within the Redemption Camp along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway in the middle of the night last week Thursday. Tolani would later budge to give a chilling detail of how he killed his father, a story that seems to come straight from a Hollywood movie script. Reports about the murder had dwelled on Tolani's drug problem but he took time to clarify the issue. He said he indeed had problem with the management of the Redeemer University as a result of his drug using habit, even though he would not reveal what kind of drug it was. He said, "I was not introduced to drug by my friends. Of course, they may have told me about drugs but it was my choice to get drugs and use them. I can't tell you where I got the drugs either. "Drugs did not push me to kill my father, I was just angry because he was hitting me and also bit me in my shoulder. I had to rush to the kitchen and took a knife that I used to stab him. It was after that I went to take a cutlass that I used to hack him into pieces." The young man said it was his father's choice for him to attend the RUN, stating that his university of choice was the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. Asked how that made him feel, Tolani simply shrugged and smiled. Saturday PUNCH learnt that Tolani's wayward behaviour was the reason the father left his Abuja base for the RCCG Camp for a prayer intercession for his first son. In the middle of the night, around 1.30am, the father woke up for a prayer and urged the son to take part, it was learnt. The police said as the father prayed, the son kept mute. But when the infuriated father urged him to say 'Amen' to each word of prayer, Tolani reportedly told him, "You are praying to God, not me. Why is it important that I should say 'Amen?" He was said to have willingly and calmly explained to the police what transpired between him and his father. Our correspondent asked if his father was in the habit of beating him and whether that was why he felt he had had enough, Tolani firmly said that his father never beat him and that that was the only time he would bite him. "He was a good father and actually took care of us well. I never lacked anything. I was just angry that day," he said. The young man told our correspondent that he regularly attended church programmes but said, "I am not a spiritual person." "I have prayed since I killed my dad and asked God for forgiveness because I actually regret that I killed him. What can anybody do for me? I am ready to face the consequences of my crime." he said. Asked if he had spoken to his mother who was at home in Abuja when he was killing his dad in Lagos, Tolani shook his head. He said, "I expect that she would be devastated right now and would still be mourning. I would tell her I am sorry when I speak with her. "But I have spoken to my sister on the phone since after the incident. She was devastated too." Tolani, a 300-level student of History and International Relations, said he even has a girlfriend and other friends in school, who would obviously still be in shock at the moment.
