[Photos] Posted: 11 Jul 2014 12:59 PM PDT Below is a list of top Nollywood stars who have converted to Islam over personal problem, marriage problems or lack of Christian suitors. 1) Vivian Metchie aka Fareedah Her case is very unique. She was born to a Catholic father and a deeper life mother. She got married to a Redeemed Church member and now she has left Christianity over what she termed 'Religious confusion'. On why she converted to Islam, Fareedah said; "it is a personal decision. I understand the Koran more than the bible. All of a sudden, the Christian confusion was driving me nuts. My dad was catholic, my mum was Deeper Life, I married someone in the Redeemed Church and then all of a sudden, the few religions had something bad to say about each other. I just couldn't take it anymore. A friend of mine who is close to me said that once you are grounded on the word, it wont be confusing. Unfortunately, maybe I wasn't grounded in the word, but I still could see what I see. But in my quest and study and research, I don't know: I was probably looking for peace. Yeah! That was what I was looking for and I found it in the Koran." 2) Liz DaSilva now Aishat Her case is very similar to Lizzy Anjorin, she dated Oshodi Boss, MC Oluomo for a while before eloping with younger Muslim guy. She claimed she change her religion for the sake of her son whom she named Roheem. She got married to Olaoye last year and adopted the Muslim name Aishat. 3) Laide Bakare After she broke up with her Christian husband over marital problem, she eloped with a Lagos-based wealthy Alhaji Tunde Orilowo aka ATM, she then converted to Islam. Laide Bakare just like her contemporaries, embarked on the holy pilgrimage courtesy her man and has since remained a converted Muslim. She has joined Alhaji Orilowo's fleet of wives. As we speak, the man is on the run over a fraud case with EFCC. 4) Moji Olaiya The latest on the conversion radar is Moji Olaiya. She was born to a Christian father and mother. She is the son of veteran singer Victor Olaiya. Moji Olaiya reportedly dumped her three children with her husband and walked out of the marriage over what she called spousal abuse. The actress said she found the religion quite peaceful, thus, her resolve to convert. In her words, "Honestly, Islam is a peaceful religion. The aspect I love most is that you don't need any pastor to get closer to God. You don't really need anybody to pray for you. You can always pray on your own and Almighty Allah will answer your prayer without any intermediary. I have been doing that since I became a Muslim and it has always worked for me." 5) Lizzy Anjorin now Aishat The popular Yoruba actress and movie producer was born into a Christian family but she shocked her fans when she suddenly made a trip to Islamic holy land Mecca in Saudi Arabia for Hajj last year. Quickly adopting the Islamic dress sense, Liz insists she has always been a Muslim all along but not known to many people who perceived her as a Christian even though she has nothing against been a Christian. Prior to her conversion, she was rumoured to be dating an Alhaji introduced to her by MC Oluomo, NURTW boss in Oshodi, Lagos. On why she chose Islam, Lizzy said "Actually, my conversion to Islam is not new, it's only that people were not aware. I have been a Muslim for long. I even have a picture to support that. Although my name is Elizabeth, which is the Christian name my dad gave me because he was a Christian. Then, I also have a Muslim name, Aishat, given to me by my mother, who was a Muslim. Also, some from my mother's family members also named me Sekinat. Even my daughter's name is Rufaidat. So, I grew with the two religions. And being the only child of my parents, I was given so many names, including Egandogo, Omosolape, Akanke. My Badagry name is Yenukunmun, meaning Isoju ota ni nse maa se rere (I will excel in the presence of my enemies). In a nutshell, Islam has been in me for long. I only kept it to myself. It is my private life. Even during every Ramadan period, I give people food for fasting and also when they want to break the fast. I also fast. Not only that, I don't normally expose my head during the period, but people don't really read meanings to it, they always think my appearance has to do with a movie."

Ghana's Supporters Club In Brazil Refuses to go Home...Begs Brazilian Govt for Citizenship! Posted: 11 Jul 2014 12:12 PM PDT The Brazilian federal police are worried and are reporting that over 200 Ghanaian citizens who came to watch the on going World Cup have requested asylum after entering the country on tourist visa. The Ghanaians are begging for Brazilian citizenship claiming that they are muslims fleeing inter-religious conflicts in Ghana, and have filed applications in the city of Caxias do Sul. Police reports further revealed that 1000 more Ghanaians are expected to request refugee status once the games end on Sunday July 13th! They are all believed to be looking for rights to work legally in the country. A police official who spoke on BBC said; "Asylum cannot be requested at a Brazilian embassy. The asylum seeker must be in the country to apply. We have hundreds of Syrian refugees in Brazil at the moment in the same situation." Reacting to this development, a Ghanaian Minister Felix Kwakye Ofosu has issued a statement denying any such religious attack. His statement reads in part; "The basis for this alleged request is completely false as no religious conflicts is taking place in Ghana. Ghana's mission in Brazil has been instructed to liaise with the Brazilian authorities to investigate the matter."

[Photo] Posted: 11 Jul 2014 11:50 AM PDT A two-year old baby girl stolen by unidentified men from her parents' home in Lagos last week Friday after a vigil has been found at the local wing of the Murtala Mohammed Airport, Ikeja, Lagos, western Nigeria. The little girl, Mercy Osunbawo, was in captivity for five days before she was found at the airport at about 2: 00 a.m. on Wednesday unaccompanied before she was rescued and handed over to the airport police. It was not certain how Mercy got to the airport. Mercy was stolen in the night last week Friday by unidentified men while she was sleeping in between her parents at their Ejigbo home. The incident happened at their residence at 10, Adeite Osunbawo Street, Ejigbo, Lagos. After the baby was stolen, both the parents and the police searched everywhere for her until she was found at the airport. The little girl was reunited with her family yesterday when the police handed her over to her parents. Neighbours, family members and their church members gathered at the their residence to praise and thank God for rescuing the girl. The father of the girl, Olanrewaju Osunbawo, who confirmed the incident, was full of gratitude to God for the miraculous return of the child. He said he was still in shock about what happened. Osunbawo said that on the night the incident happened, he and members of his family had a vigil in their home till 2:30 a.m. before they went to sleep. He said the missing girl slept in between him and his wife on the same bed inside their bedroom, while four other children slept in their parlour. Narrating how they discovered that Mercy was missing, Osunbawo said his wife, Kemi, first woke up and started looking for the girl and she went to their palour where other children were sleeping and did not find her. He said Kemi immediately woke him up and informed him that Mercy was missing and he went to the door and discovered that the door had been forced open. The couple, who married in 2007 and have five children, could not explain how those who took their daughter away gained access to their apartment without their movement being noticed by any member of the family and their co-tenants. Apart from stealing the baby, Osunbawo said the suspects also stole their three phones and money kept in the house by his wife. He said when they called one of the phones the men stole, the call was picked but they refused to answer for possible negotiation and since then the phones have remained switched off. When P.M.NEWS visited the Airport Police Division on Thursday, the DPO was not around to comment on the matter. Movie moments reports that Baba Suwe, who was on the location of a movie set in Ibadan, was uncontrollable when he received the sad news of his attorney's untimely death in Lagos. It was gathered that the actor had returned to Lagos today, Thursday, July 10, 2014 after completing his scenes in the movie to commiserate and pay his condolence to the family of the late Aturu. Posted: 11 Jul 2014 11:56 AM PDT I know it has been a while since my last blog, I wanted to apologize for that but then again I thought if it was intentional and I had my reasons, why act like it was a mistake? So instead I said to myself, if you have something really important to say then share it but if you are busy and trying to finish some other projects then don't force yourself to write just anything because you have a blog. This brings me to the topic of this message "seeking unnecessary approval from social media".  So I read two devotionals today and to my surprise they were saying practically the same things. The first one talked about how we are creatures of approval. We all depend on what other people think of us and say about us before we evaluate ourselves.  The truth is, a lot of people wake up in the morning and the first thing they do is check their social media pages even before they say good morning to anyone. They want to see who has said what about who, and so many other things that are not beneficial to their lives. People now hide under the guise of  social media to give their "supreme" opinions about other people's affairs but can't show their faces, it has become the major identity of a lot of people. Human beings have sold their true identities by acquiring screen names to cause harm to others.  People would rather sneak to private places in their offices to check out who is wearing what to an event and who they think is S*XIER, then they go on popular sites to pass judgement on others with such venom that you will wonder if they have even met the person. If you take a few steps back, you will ask yourself where our own brains and minds have gone? Have we become so dependent on other people's opinions that we have lost our own identities?  I am not saying social media is bad, please don't get me wrong. But I fear for those who have turned it into their BIBLE and their life manual.  We no longer have a mind of our own to research or question any information we receive. We just depend on whatever one person has sat down in their living rooms to construct. Then you wonder how one person who is not even in the same country as you, knows what happened inside your bathroom. Then we read it and share it, others pick up on it and all of a sudden it becomes the TRUTH. It goes on Google so that when the victims name or company name is typed, people get to see a story that was started by one person siting in a small cubicle with a small laptop. Some people have accused me of not being in tune with my fans, they have called me a snob they have said I don't respond instantly to messages. I know that when it's a direct message it's  easier  for me to respond. But how do I spend hours everyday responding to over a hundred thousand people at the same time. We all try to respond to as many as we can in a day but I can't possibly respond to all.  Contrary to popular beliefs by these naysayers, STELLA has a life, she has a family and she has work to do as well. Entertainers are not jobless people who sit around waiting for people to send messages so they can respond. Besides like I have said I am not on Facebook anymore so anyone expecting to hear from me there is wasting their time. I don't wake up every morning and run to check twitter or Instagram. I go there when I can to communicate with as many people as I can, and I only put info or pictures out that I feel are necessary to share. Some have also said that I don't have as many followers as others, that made me laugh a lot because they did not realize that I don't go snooping around to find out what others have that I don't. The fact that I have a group of people who are dedicated fans and follow me is more than enough for me to be grateful to God. I don't look around for who is doing what or who has what, neither do I do things because others are doing it.  Our destinies and purpose are totally different. So when people try to compare, it becomes strange for them when I respond by laughing. They don't understand why I don't care about too many things. I have tried to let people know that I have discovered the most important things in life and what my everyday goal is, anything outside of that is a waste of time and energy.  If your so hooked on social media and you are not using it to grow your clientele for your business then you need to re-evaluate yourself and who you have become.  - Stella Damasus Top Stories Sweet Love! At 7ft tall ,she received the Guinness World Record award  in her hometown of Safranbolu, Karabük. Rumeysa whose height is caused by a condition,Weaver Syndrome (a rare genetic disorder that causes rapid growth) is also an 11th grade high school student and her parents and older siblings, are all 'normal' height. She said.. 'I like being different from everyone else. Shocking!! Gang of 11 boys beat a 8-Yr-Old boy to death because they were bored & were looking for something interesting to do! [Photos] Posted: 11 Jul 2014 08:57 AM PDT A gang of 11 boys aged between 9 and 13 have allegedly beaten to death their eight-year-old classmate because they were bored, Chinese police said today 11th, July 2014.  The boys allegedly attacked Zhang Tai in the street just near the city of Zhangjiakou in north-west China's Hebei province.   They beat him up, before leaving his battered and bruised body lying beside the road. The 8 year old victim was later taken to the hospital where he was later declared dead. Lagos Police arrests Four armed robbers using police uniforms For Operation! [Photo`] Posted: 11 Jul 2014 09:01 AM PDT Four armed robbers who specialize in robbing with police uniforms have been arrested and paraded by the Lagos state Police command. The four men named Julius George, Samuel Orgah, Lucky Oliseh and Lucky Friday were arrested by the police force at the Ile Zik area on the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway on the 22nd of June Punch reports. From their confessions, it was gathered that other operations carried out by the gang included robbing a trailer load of rice at Oju-Elegba area worth N4.5m and a tanker carrying engine oil worth N11m. They were arrested during the Ile Zik area operation, which was said to be their fourth operation, and involving about N8m. Ring leader of the gang, 34 year old Julius George from Benue state who is married with children in his confessional statement said he led the other men into the act by deceiving them that he was a police man. He said he bought the police uniform materials in the market, made them into the uniforms and gave them to his gang members. "This was not the first time we would use police uniforms for robbery. In 2013, I was arrested by the police and charged to court. I was remanded for some time, but my family came and I was released on bail. Later, the court discharged me for want of evidence. While in remand at the Kirikiri Prisons, I met Sam (Orgah). When I came out of prisons, a friend of mine called Benjamin invited me again for another job. I was asked to escort a truck of engine oil from Apapa to Mushin, because they still regarded me as a policeman. They paid me N5,000 when they offloaded." he said 33 year old Samuel Orgah who is also from Benue state said he was an imprisoned armed robber who took to his bad ways after he regained his freedom in 2011. For Oliseh Lucky from Delta state, he said he came in contact with the gang leader,  George, only three weeks before their arrest when George invited him for the N8m robbery in Ile Zik area. Friday Lucky who says he is a clearing and forwarding agent working at a shipping company in Apapa Lagos said he met George three months ago at Iyana-Oba and had never engaged in armed robbery. He said he was only invited to help collect money for Friday and did not know he was an armed robber "I have never gone on an operation with Mopol before. 'How I mistakenly impregnated my elder sister'- 25-Yr-Old Man Reveals! Posted: 11 Jul 2014 09:03 AM PDT A 25 year  old man, Shamsu Isa, yesterday told a magistrate court in Kano State that he impregnanted his elder sister in error. Isa spoke shortly after appearing before the court, following a report made by the Ward Head of the Takalmawa Quarters, to the police that the accused person was having sexual intercourse with his elder sister, contrary to the law. The First Information Report by the police stated that a case of incest was reported to the police following the discovery that Isa's elder sister, identified as Na'ima  was carrying her younger brother's baby. "On July 4, 2014, the Ward Head of Takalmawa Quarters reported to the police that, Shamsu Isa was having sexual intercourse with his elder sister. However, when the charge was read to Isa, he said: ''The allegation levelled  against me is true. All that had been read against me, is true, it was a mistake, I mistakenly inpregnated her, my elder sister." According to the charge, the accused person committed "incest contrary to section 390 of the Penal Code Law. Naima Isa, 27, is believed to have a weak mind is heavy.'' The prosecutor, Corporal Ibrahim Abdulrazak applied for the matter to be adjourned to another date, to enable the police conclude investigations into the case. The Senior Magistrate, Ummi Sani Kurawa, while delivering her ruling, ordered that, Isa be remanded in prison custody, and adjourned the matter to August 4, for mention. FIFA Fines Argentina for £196,380(N55Million)! Posted: 11 Jul 2014 09:05 AM PDT The FIFA Disciplinary Committee on Friday imposed a fine of 300,000 Swiss Francs (about £196,380) on the Argentina Football Association (AFA) and also pronounced a reprimand against it. A statement from FIFA's Media Office said the fine was in relation to breaches of the Regulations of Brazil 2014 FIFA World Cup and the competition's Media & Marketing Regulations. "Disciplinary proceedings were opened after Argentina turned up for three consecutive Match Day press conferences in the stadium with only the head coach present, instead of the required head coach, plus at least one player. "The matches are Argentina versus Nigeria, Argentina versus Switzerland, and Argentina versus Belgium. "The same incident occurred at the Match Day press conference prior to the semi-final match between Argentina and The Netherlands. "After analysing all necessary elements, the FIFA Disciplinary Committee found the Argentina FA guilty. "The Argentina FA breached article 4 paragraph 1 lit. f and article 4 paragraph 2 of the Regulations 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil. "The FA also breached article 12.2 second part (i) of the competition's Media & Marketing Regulations,'' it said. The statement added that the objective of the said regulations is, inter alia, to allow media and, ultimately, fans to have an opportunity to follow a team's preparations. TOO BAD! Village chief order r*pe of 10 year old girl after her father beat a housebreaker! Posted: 11 Jul 2014 09:15 AM PDT Indian police Reported that a 10-yr-old girl has been r*ped on the orders of a village chief 'as punishment' after her father beat up a neighbour who broke into house According to The India Times, the girl's father attacked his 25-yr-old neighbour after the man broke into his house drunk at midnight and tried to molest his wife. The next day, the battered and bruised neighbour reported the 'assault' to elders in his village in eastern India's Bokaro district and they permitted him to rape the girl as punishment. The newspaper Revealed that the 25-yr-old dragged the girl into a bush and r*ped her, against the cries of the child's mother. Police told the newspaper that an hour later, the mother retrieved her daughter from the bushes, where she was found lying in blood. Other villagers were reportedly too frightened to intervene in case they became targets themselves. However, police have released conflicting information on the alleged incident. Wow! Watch How this Brave 9-Yr-Old Girl Confronted her Suspected Abductors! [Video] Posted: 11 Jul 2014 09:15 AM PDT Little Iyabo (renamed Blessing) was abducted at the age of 6, and the last 3 years of her life have been traumatic. According to the Lagos State Police Command who rescued her, Iyabo had been sold to different people and made to work as a maid. She told reporters that she did domestic work in the various "homes" and each time she complained to people that she had been abducted, they beat her. She was on her way to school when a woman wearing a pudah took  her away in her car. Eventually Iyabo was rescued and her abductors arrested. The police say they are currently working to nab the ringleader of the abductors, so Iyabo can be reunited with her family. But until then, the young girl will remain in custody of the police, while the suspects will be charged to court. Just watch Iyabo confront these wicked women.
