What I want to know is, who is that mystery man in the picture? Genny, do you want to tell us something?

Meanwhile, her picture is causing some controversy among her fans, some of whom don't think Nigerians should be marking the US Independence day when they don't live in America. Others came to her defense, saying there's nothing wrong with it.

Joan Rivers Says President Obama is Gay, And Michelle Obama a Transgender

I understand about freedom of speech and all that but sometimes lines are crossed, and I think this is one of those times. Either Joan Rivers pleads senility on account of her age or she may be liable for libel!

The TV host of Fashion Police was in New York recently for a bookstore appearance, and was asked some questions about when she had officiated an impromptu gay wedding between two of her fans. The reporter then asked her if she thought the US would ever see a gay president.

Joan Rivers replied: "We already have it with Obama, so let's just calm down."

As she started walking away, 81 year old Rivers added: "You know Michelle is a tranny."

When asked to confirm what she said, Joan Rivers responded: "A transgender. We all know."

Peter Okoye and Dbanj Celebrate 4th of July For America's Independence Day

Hi-Five Singer Russell Neal Charged With Murder in Wife’s Death

Russell Neal of 90s boy band Hi-Five has been charged with murder after his wife was found dead in their apartment in Houston on Thursday. Hi-Five was an R&B group known for their popular song, "I Like the Way (Kissing Game)".

The 39-year-old Russell Neal walked into the Harris County Sheriff Department building, and told officers that his wife was dead in their apartment. He also reportedly said he needed a lawyer.

According to reports, police officers are said to have forced themselves into the apartment, and found his 24-year-old wife Catherine Martinez lying dead under a blanket on the living room floor. Martinez suffered multiple stab wounds and blunt force trauma.



The late Catherine Martinez was a fitness model and aspiring boxer, and she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Neal reportedly told detectives that he and his late wife had gotten into an argument, but refused to answer any other questions and asked for an attorney.

They have two sons together who are staying with relatives. It is not clear if the boys were home at the time of the murder.

Kim Kardashian and Reggie Bush have both moved on from their three-year relationship which ended in 2010. Reggie Bush is engaged to Ballroom Dancer Lilit Avagyan, who some say is a Kim "look-alike", while Kim is happily married to Kanye West.

Last week, however Global Grind seemed to want to take them both back, pointing out the similarities between both families, especially North West and Reggie's daughter Briseis Avagyan Bush

Nigerian Army Arrest 3 Female Boko Haram Operatives Who Recruit Other Women

The Nigerian army has arrested 3 women who worked as undercover operatives for Boko Haram, recruiting widows and young women in the north to join the women wing of the terrorist organisation.

These operatives usually promise the women they talk to that they will get married to young men who are members of the Boko Haram group.

The Army has released a statement on the arrest. See below...


In the aftermath of the failed suicide bombing attempt on a military facility by a female terrorist who blew herself up in Gombe recently, troops have arrested three suspected female terrorists who have been secretly recruiting ladies into the female wing of the terrorists group. The suspects, Hafsat Usman Bako, Zainab Idris and Aisha Abubakar were intercepted while travelling to Madagali from where they were to transit to the forest to reunite with their cohorts.

Investigations revealed that the suspects, led by Hafsat Bako, have the mission to recruit members into the female wing as well as conduct espionage for the group. Hafsat's link with the terrorists group had earlier been a subject of investigation in 2012, when security agents on a manhunt for one Usman Bako, her husband who was identified as a terrorist, stormed their residence in Jimeta.  This resulted in the discovery of an AK 47 rifle and 2 loaded magazines.   Though Usman Bako later died in an encounter with troops in Sokoto where he had relocated to continue his terrorist activities, Hafsat continued with the terror group specializing in surreptitious recruitment of members into their fold.

The arrested trio suspects were luring ladies especially widows and young girls by enticing them with male suitors who are mainly members of their terror group for marriage. Before their arrest, they were on a mission to take additional briefing from the leadership of the terror group.

The trio has been operating together as members of the intelligence team of the group.   Their arrest has yielded information still being verified by security agencies.

Father Who Left Toddler To Die In Hot Car Sexted 6 Women That Day, Including a Teenager

The Georgia father accused of leaving his 22-month-old son in a hot car for seven hours to let him die reportedly spent the day sending sexual text messages and photos to six different women, including teenagers.

Harris told police that he forgot to drop his son off at day care and the boy was left in the hot car for the entire day. That day, Harris was exchanging sexts with various women while his son was trapped in the vehicle.

Harris has now been charged with murder and child cruelty for the death of his 22-month-old son Cooper.

On Thursday, 33-year-old Justin Ross Harris was denied bond after the judge called his crime a "possible death penalty case."


"We plan to show that he wanted to live a child-free life," prosecutors told the judge.

Prosecutors say that Harris searched out Reddit articles about life without children, and searched for things like what happens when animals die in hot cars and "how to survive in prison."

Police say Ross told them that he merely "was fearful that this could happen."

"I think the evidence now is showing intent," Detective Phil Stoddard said.

Stoddard said both he and his wife were "unemotional" after learning of their son's death.

Mother Of Three Abandons Her Beautiful Children To Marry Violent Prisoner She Met Online

A mother of three is leaving her three children in their father's care in the United Kingdom to move to Texas to marry a convicted gang member that she met online.

According to reports, 29-year-old Jennifer Butler, pictured above, is leaving her children, who are all younger than 10, to move in with 23-year-old Chris Mosier if he is paroled this September.

"Some people might think I'm bonkers for falling in love with a prisoner," Butler said. "And not everyone will agree with our relationship. But Chris is a wonderful man. Sure, he made a few mistakes in the past, but everybody deserves a second chance."

Butler first contacted Mosier in July of 2011 when she found his profile on pen pal website writeaprisoner.com.






Mosier had been sentenced to 15 years in prison in 2009 after he was part of an armed robbery that left a victim dead, though Mosier was reportedly not involved in the shooting.

Butler says she is most impressed by Mosier's "honesty."

"I felt sorry for him being locked up, nobody to talk to except other prisoners," she said. "Of course, I didn't condone his crimes. But he was still a human being, and deserved to have a friend. I was really intrigued by his profile. It was different to the rest. Most of the guys were posing with their tops off. But his was articulate and he was open about his crime."

Butler even saved up to visit Mosier, though he had just gotten into a fight with another inmate and had to talk to her through a glass window.

"We weren't allowed to touch because he was a maximum security prisoner at the time," Butler said. "We had a glass window between us and had to talk through a phone. When I saw him walking down the corridor, I knew he was the man for me. We talked for four hours and I felt like I'd known him all my life."

Butler is leaving her children behind with their dad but says she hopes to reunite soon.

"Leaving my children is not an easy thing to decide to do," she said. "But I want to get everything ready for them in America before they move, too. I'm doing this for our future because I want us to be a family… I know he did a terrible crime but he's a changed man. He's going to make a wonderful husband and a brilliant stepdad to my children."

A photographer was on hand to capture the emotional moment two gay dads met their son for the first time. The photographer Lindsay Foster, shared the photo on their Facebook page, writing;

"I had the opportunity to photograph this amazing birth on June 27 for a surrogate and two expecting and anxious daddies. Hours were spent with them in the hospital room while the surrogate mom was laboring and I got to know them quite well.They are two compassionate people who felt all the emotions that every new parent feels. They asked all appropriate questions of the birthing mom and the midwife and educated themselves as best as they could for their son's arrival. I am so proud of these two dads."

The pictures were liked over 6,000 times but also attracted negative comments.

Andrea Kelly Publicly States Her Support For 14 Years Old Transgender Son

Andrea Kelly's youngest child with ex, R. Kelly, recently came out of the closet with his transition from female to male.

The 14 year old's decision to go public with the story sparked so many debates online, especially after father R. Kelly said he didn't want an interviewer addressing his daughter as a son [read here].

Jay's mother, Andrea Kelly has been supportive all along according to Jay, and now she is speaking out and reiterating that support, even though she admits it's still a learning process for her on how to treat her child as a son now, and not a daughter.

Andrea also says in the new interview with VH1 that parents are wrong for not supporting their transitioning children. Check out some excerpts from the interview below;

This past June your 14-year-old son Jay came out as a transgender boy on his Ask.fm page. How is your family adjusting to that? Are there any misconceptions you'd like to clear up?

All I can say about Jay is he makes it so easy to be a proud mom. For parents, we need to realize, [our kids] have their own journey. Parents get it wrong when they don't support their children. They have to go out and fight every day and face this world. The first battle should not be at home. I think that a lot of children in the LGBT community don't succeed because the one thing they need the most is foundation. I just tell Jay all the time, baby you won the war. You're gonna have a lot of battles but you won the war. Mama accepts and loves you for who you are. Your family does.

It's pretty remarkable for a 14-year-old to be so open publicly. I mean that takes some courage.

It's like Jay; you don't understand that you're changing people's lives just by being courageous. The kid is so courageous. She has…and see, there I go [using the wrong pronoun]. It's a learning experience. It really is. It's something we smile about. When I make that mistake I'm like, "Girl, you got a son, honey, get it together. Get it right." [Laughs]

Being R. Kelly and your child, there has been a lot of attention surrounding Jay coming out as trans. Was that surprising to your family?

You know it took a minute for that to click in my head. Then I have to stop and come back and say, in the urban community this is like a first. [For my family] this isn't this shocking thing. I need [people], especially in the black community, to stop burying their heads in the sand. Let's quit playing that game that you just chose to be gay or trans. What we choose every day is what we wear. We need to stop worrying about people's gender and sexuality and think about the choices we're making with our youth, period. That's what we need to focus on in my community

Nicki Minaj Steps Out on a Bad Hair Day After Rumors of Beef With Iggy Azalea

Nicki Minaj was photographed on her way to rehearsal yesterday, and she was looking fairly disheveled and not like her usual fashionable self. The award-winning rapper's hair was a mess and she was wearing old sweats and sneakers and with very little to no make up on.

This is coming just days after Nicki Minaj gave an acceptance speech at the BET Awards on Sunday, that appeared to throw shade at other female rappers, especially Iggy Azalea, an upcoming rapper who was also nominated for the same award.

Nicki said in her speech that when "you hear Nicki Minaj spit, Nicki Minaj wrote it." Some say this is a pointed dig at Iggy Azalea who's been rumored to work with ghostwriters and who some say is on her way to taking Nicki Minaj's crown as the best female MC.



When their respective fans and media outlets reported on the shade, Nicki came out on Twitter to clear the air.

"The media puts words in my mouth all the time and this is no different. I will always take a stance on women writing b/c I believe in us! ...

I've congratulated Iggy on the success of 'Fancy,' publicly. She should be very proud of that. All the women nominated should b proud. ...

That will never change my desire to motivate women to write. Our voices have to be heard. I hope I inspire up & coming females to do that."

Azalea had initially remained silent on the subject, but the day after Nicki's tweets, the younger rapper released a statement on her Instagram account;

"I have to say the general explosion of pettiness online in the last few days is hard to ignore and honestly ... lame. If I had won the BET award that would've been great but it wasn't my year and I don't mind -- so you shouldn't either.

"Generally speaking, I'm unbothered by anything that 'happened' at the BET awards, and just feel worn out by everyone trying to make me have wars with people all the time. Anyone who wishes me well is welcome in my life and those who don't can't get any more of my time. I hate to see everyone exhausting themselves on my behalf over things that I'm still not sure even exist and don't matter. Just let it go."

Soldiers in Lagos State Set BRT Buses On Fire, Attack And Shoot At Onlookers

Angry soldiers in Lagos State went on a rampage some hours ago and set buses belonging to the Lagos State Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) on fire after one of them was hit by one of the buses in Palmgrove area.

According to eye-witnesses who discussed the incident on Twitter, it all started when a BRT driver changed his lane and accidentally knocked down one soldier on a bike. The soldier wasn't killed or seriously hurt, but made calls after he was hit to call his colleagues to come and wreak havoc on the bus.

The passengers in the BRT bus including the offending driver tried pleading with him but he was adamant.



 When the soldiers arrived, they torched all the marked BRT bus and all other BRT buses in sight, shot sporadically, harassed commuters and also smashed phones of bystanders who tried to capture their act.












The development has in the meantime caused a terrible gridlock, with some motorists and other Nigerians discussing the incident on social media.

As for the BRT driver who hit the soldier is presently on the run; he allegedly ran into Palmgrove estate in order to avoid the wrath of other soldiers present.

However, the Army men ran into the estate after him and  seized one of the Estate's security men.

According to eye-witnesses, the 'innocent' security man was beaten mercilessly. He was released hours later badly beaten and traumatized.

Dear Little One,

As I write this, I'm sitting in the makeup aisle of our local Target store. A friend recently texted me from a different makeup aisle and told me it felt like one of the most oppressive places in the world. I wanted to find out what he meant.

And now that I'm sitting here, I'm beginning to agree with him. Words have power, and the words on display in this aisle have a deep power. Words and phrases like:


Affordably gorgeous,

Infallible,

Flawless finish,

Brilliant strength,

Liquid power,

Go nude,

Age defying,

Instant age rewind,

Choose your dream,

Nearly naked, and

Natural beauty.

When you have a daughter you start to realize she's just as strong as everyone else in the house—a force to be reckoned with, a soul on fire with the same life and gifts and passions as any man. But sitting in this store aisle, you also begin to realize most people won't see her that way. They'll see her as a pretty face and a body to enjoy. And they'll tell her she has to look a certain way to have any worth or influence.

But words do have power and maybe, just maybe, the words of a father can begin to compete with the words of the world. Maybe a father's words can deliver his daughter through this gauntlet of institutionalized shame and into a deep, unshakeable sense of her own worthiness and beauty.

Their little daughter travels with them, and just like Bey and Jay make time for each other, Beyonce also makes sure to spend quality time with her baby daughter.

Beyonce shared these adorable snaps from a mother-daughter time out she had with Blue Ivy getting a manicure and pedicure.

Blue Ivy went for pink and while Queen Bey matched her on one hand, she went for a more grown up red for the other hand and her feet.

Karrueche is not Pregnant or Engaged To Chris Brown But Their Relationship is in a Good Place

Chris Brown's girlfriend Karrueche Tran has hit out against pregnancy and engagement rumours, saying she is neither pregnant nor are the two engaged.

The confusion surrounding their on-off romance has finally been cleared up by the model, who said "I have been pregnant one hundred times, I have been engaged one hundred times but no I am not".

Tran also insisted that following Brown's recent release from jail, the couple are in a "good place" in their relationship.

 The 25-year-old beauty said: "I'm just happy he is home and not in that state of mind anymore. I'm working, he is working and we are in a good place in our relationship, we are happy".


The Loyal hit-maker is known for tweeting love notes about his beau, so when Tran was asked what it's like to get so much social media love from her man, she said "It feels good, you know regardless of whether it's behind the scenes or in public we have our connection, we have our relationship, and I love it."

7 Extremely Effective Couples Therapy Exercises You Can Try at Home

There are quite a few couples therapy exercises you can try at home, especially since everyone has a lot of daily responsibilities, long to-do lists and big stressors in their life.

That's why it's sometimes so easy to neglect your partner or to take them for granted. That special connection you share with your significant other needs to be cultivated, and couples therapy can help you strengthen your relationship and work through difficulties.

Here are a few very effective couples therapy exercises that you should try, since they will help you get closer to your partner and nourish a stronger bond:

1. APPRECIATION LIST

In my opinion, this is definitely one of the most effective couples therapy exercises you can try at home. For five days, you are supposed to write one thing every day that your partner did that you appreciated. It doesn't have to be a grand gesture; you can add simple, sweet gestures that actually mean a lot to you - for example, the fact that they joined you for your daily walk in the park.

2. AIR YOUR DIRTY LAUNDRY

Just like your clothes, your relationship gets dirty every day as well, since all kinds of unspoken resentments and minor irritations sneak into your interactions. Once a week, ask your partner to tell you what things you did that made them feel unappreciated, unloved or disrespected. Maybe at first, they will tell you that everything is fine, but just dig a little deeper and really listen to what they have to say.

3. MAKE A FUN LIST

I'm sure that there are a lot of fun things you would like to do with your partner. Just make a list and try to check one item off that list every month or even every week. Try to enjoy each other's company more and discover what common interests you two share that you didn't even suspect.

4. RESOLVE DISAGREEMENTS BEFORE BED

Make sure you always resolve disagreements before bed, since arguments that linger without being resolved usually lead to frustration and resentment. In the long term, these things are really toxic to your relationship and your happiness. Just try to resolve your arguments on the day that they start and focus on finding a solution that will satisfy both of you.

5. THE LOVE LIST

Just write down five things that your partner can do or that they already do to show you their love. This way, you will notice much better how your partner tells you that they love you every day without actually saying it. Most of the time, those are not big and expensive gestures, but small and significant little things that are very simple to do but which show you how much they love you.

6. HONESTY HOUR

You could try having an honesty hour every week where you would be allowed to tell your partner how you feel about certain things with complete immunity. This way, you will learn to be more honest with each other, you will listen more carefully and you will learn to respect each other's opinions without taking things too personally.

7. INTIMACY BUILDER

Take your significant other and just go into a room that isn't your bedroom, turn off your phones, put your kids to bed and then simply sit so you're facing each other and your knees are almost touching. Then, take a minute or even more and just look into each other's eyes, consider your thoughts, reactions and feelings and then, share them with your partner. This exercise promotes that intimacy that is often lost in the busyness of our day and it helps us tune into our partner's inner world, as well as into our own.

In the coming issue of Cosmopolitan, Nicole Scherzinger opened up on alot of issues including her relationship with Lewis Hamilton and her battle with Bulimia.

On Bulimia and getting past the shyness that made it worse for her, she said;


"I get past my shyness by making everything about others and not thinking about myself. That's what I did on The X Factor – I can be goofy and playful when it's about the acts. They are like my babies. But when I'm off stage I'm not as big and animated. Opening up about her brave escape from dark times, she spoke to Cosmo fighting back tears  about the punishing eating disorder that almost stole her twenties. "Thinking about it I try not to well up… It is such a horrible paralysing disease and it was such a dark time for me. That's why I can empathise so much with people who have demons and voices in their heads, who aren't nice to themselves. It robs you of living your life. But you can recover and you can get rid of it forever. I did it and that's why it's so important for me to share my story. I felt so alone... but I made myself so alone. You hide it from the world, you isolate yourself. But you can beat it – do not give up because you're so special and you're meant for such great things."

"I had started losing my voice, I couldn't sing at shows, and then I remember my manager finding me passed out on the floor in Malta or in the south of France. I thought, 'I'm going to lose everything I love if I don't love myself.' One day when you feel like you've reached the end, you just say, 'I'm not doing this anymore.' It's sad to see how I wasted my life. I had such a great life on the outside, the Dolls were on top of the world but I was miserable on the inside. I'm never letting that happen again; you only get one life – I was 27 only once."

Nicole admitted that just like any couple doing the long distance thang is hard - she is mainly based in LA and him in Europe. "Well it's something crazy romantic. Relationships are hard and having to hold a long-distance relationship is even harder. It's kudos to us for growing and trying – there's so much love there. It's just the distance, it's not natural for anyone. But I'm good and I'm happy," she said.

Nicole ain't going to give up her dreams for no man - no matter how much she adores him. "Absolutely not. This is my passion, I have so much more to give, and with him – whether we're on or off – I wholeheartedly support him in everything he does. It's good we have that love and respect for each other."

What is Ebola and Why is it So Deadly? Should You Be Worried? What Should You Do?

In March, an outbreak of Ebola began with a just a handful of cases in Guinea. As a public health afficionado if not practicioner, I've had my eyes on the reports of the outbreak, but recently Atala has been asking me what I know about the virus and he is becoming worried. So what is Ebola?

The Ebola virus causes viral hemorrhagic fever, and symptons can resemble the flu. The virus is named after the Ebola River in the DRCongo (formerly Zaire), where one of the first outbreaks occurred in 1976. Of Ebola's five sub-types, the Zaire strain is considered the most deadly.

The WHO has said preliminary tests on the Ebola virus in those cases in Guinea in March suggest the outbreak there is the Zaire strain, although that has not been confirmed.

However, as of June 30, at least 759 people in Guinea, Sierra Leone and Liberia have been infected by Ebola since its symptoms were first observed four months ago. 467 of them have died. That's a 61.5 percent mortality rate.

The outbreak is now the deadliest outbreak of Ebola virus on record. The "largest in terms of the number of cases and deaths as well as geographical spread," said WHO.

Not only is it uncontained, Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) describes Ebola as "one of the world's most deadly diseases," adding,

"It is a highly infectious virus that can kill up to 90% of the people who catch it, causing terror among infected communities."

There is also no vaccination against it.

The scientist who first discovered the Ebola virus in the 1970s, Dr. Peter Piot, told CNN that the situation is "unprecedented."

"One, [this is] the first time in West Africa that we have such an outbreak," he said. "Secondly, it is the first time that three countries are involved. And thirdly it's the first time that we have outbreaks in capitals, in capital cities."

New cases of the virus continue to be reported.

Between June 25 and 30, 22 new cases of the virus were reported in Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone, WHO said. Of those, 14 died.

The WHO says "drastic action is needed" to contain the virus, which has spread from rural areas to cities in West Africa. It has dispatched teams of experts to the region and is holding talks this week with the health ministers from 11 countries about what to do next.

So should you be worried? If you live in West Africa especially, try to be vigilant and ensure to go for tests when you have a fever, and ask those you're caring for to do the same.

Kefee Will Be Buried in Sapele on Friday 11th July, Condolence Team Confirms at Visit to Her Family

Late Nigerian pop gospel singer Kefee [real names - Irikefe Don-Momoh nee Obareki] would be buried on Friday 11th July 2014 in her hometown – Okpara-Inland, Ethiope East Local Government, Delta State.

On Thursday, her publicist in Lagos released a statement stating her husband, Teddy Don-Momoh who has been making arrangements to bring her body back from the U.S., would arrive the country first to receive her body before taking her down to Delta State for burial.

Teddy earlier indicated that his wife's family had requested that she be buried in their hometown, with a celebratory service in Sapele afterwards and he was comfortable with the arrangement.

Her family disclosed the information to members of the Kefee Memorial Committee – a collection of artistes and entertainment personalities – who paid a condolence visit to the late singer's parents in their Sapele, Delta State home on Wednesday 2nd July 2014.

The condolence team who travelled to Sapele from Lagos included Sammie Okposo, Nikki Laoye, Annie Ibrahim, Gordons, Princess, Linda Etukudo, Rex Anighoro, Noah Momodu, Covenant and Chika 100%.

Sammie, who spoke on behalf of the committee, told Kefee's family that the delegation was in Sapele to commiserate with them on their loss and harmonise the arrangements of the Kefee Memorial Committee with the preparations of her family.

He expressed his sadness to be visiting on such a mission but that the contributions of their daughter to the entertainment industry meant that entertainers in Nigeria wanted to celebrate and pay their last respects to one of their own.


"We will perform the last respects we owe our sister to the best of our abilities. We will let the world know that a queen was here and she will always be celebrated.

She brought peace, happiness and love to the world even in her passing and even though we are heartbroken, we will be comforted in the fact that God knows best and we cannot question him".

Anny, a gospel artiste and close friend of Kefee, spoke of how Kefee introduced her into the entertainment industry and said that she had stopped mourning but was now celebrating Kefee's life.

Comedian, Princess Dammy, told Kefee's father,

"Kefee was a huge gift put in a small container for all of us and we didn't even know how powerful she was. She made such a huge impact in her short life that some men of 50 years have not achieved. You are a lucky man to have had her as your child."

Nikki Laoye, a gospel artiste spoke of their friendship and further shared,

"Kefee was a fighter and unapologetically passionate about her music and her art. Till her last breath, she spent her time and energy sharing her message of love, strength and peace across the world."

She promised the family that the entertainment industry would continue to support them and prayed for their continued good health, especially, in times like this.

Other members of the delegation spoke in the same vein and afterwards Kefee's father, Andrew Obareki thanked them for the visit.

"I stand on the authority of the word of God and use the key of David to shut the gates of death from the entertainment industry; there shall be no more sudden, tragic, premature and untimely deaths. "I'm glad Kefee touched the lives of many and her memory will continue to live on. Sometimes it's not easy to give God thanks but we have no choice."

He said the visit had reduced their grief and prayed that God would continue to guide and guard the entertainment industry so there will be no similar occurrences like the untimely death of his daughter.
