Nollywood actor/movie producer Femi Ogedengbe stunned Nigerians when he announced on Facebook that he had named his twins, born on the 27th May, Nollywood and Hollywood. Although he received lots of criticism for doing that, Femi is hitting back at his critics.
In a press statement sent to BON, the actor revealed why he named his babies - Nollywood and Hollywood.
Read statement below:"The level of hypocrisy in Nigeria is just too high or how do I explain the attack I and my wife have received on different blogs for adding Nollywood & HOLLYWOOD among the names we gave our bundles of Joy: King Praise Micheal Victor Tochukwu Jesuogbo Iyinoluwa Hollywood & Queen Grace Michelle Victoria Peculia Chimamaka Jesukomeh Opeoluwa Nollywood .
I guess all those who condemned us have been so blinded by Hatred that they couldn't see all other names but the HOLLYWOOD and Nollywood…Anyway thanks for noticing me my wife and our children, but What is really bad in those two names?
It always come with different interpretations depending on how every one perceive it from there stand point …..
Most people who criticise the names gave their reason, they said ;the two industries (HOLLYWOOD & NOLLYWOOD) are synonymous with immorality . And I wonder if they are truly alright at all because if they are normal they will know that despite some of the negative reports from Nollywood,It is safe for Nigerians to declare Nollywood day because this is an industry that has consistently put our name in the world map and when you are fortunate to travel out of Nigeria.
Then you will realize we Nigerians are the only people that are not proud of NOLLYWOOD.If we choose to look inward then questions like ; where and What would have been of Names like, Tonto Dike, Mercy Johson, Jim Iyke Kevin Ikeduba , Odun Adekola , in a country where unemployment is at it highest level.
I for one will still be in the back street of Mushin hustling or dead like 35 of my childhood friends who all died between 1990 – 1995 around wuraola in pako Eleja Area because they all decided to take the short-cut (armed robbery). But thanks to Nollywood, I am now Femi Ogedengbe! It is a pity that people will seat in the comfort of there homes,hide behind the freedom that such platform as Facebook and all other social network provide to judge the logic behind the actions of people they don't know.
Here in Nigerian there is a town called Umuagwo & Umueke (descendants of snakes) and you don't think that is weird enough but some of you whose family names are something around the neighbourhood of Esubiyi, Sango these and Ogun that Join in condemning a name that has its origin in such a vibrant industry as Nollywood that has engage more Nigerian youth in one way or the other and have helped in no small measure in putting smile on our collective faces unlike the Nigeria corrupt politicians who we shamelessly sing their praise ..
In as much as I appreciate everyone who congratulated me and my wife Nkechi Diane,the matter wey dey face Nigeria pass Femi Ogedengbe name pikinses Nollywood & Nollywood.

| How Lamido Sanusi escaped arrest after Becoming Emir! Posted: 09 Jun 2014 12:36 PM PDT 
The new Emir of Kano Lamido Sanusi on Sunday narrowly escaped being arrested by security operatives at his personal residence in Kano hours after he was appointed to the coveted throne.
A source who declined to be named for security reasons said the Kano state Government hurriedly sneaked Mr. Sanusi out of his personal residence after receiving intelligence that the Federal Government was plotting to arrest him to stop him from being turbaned.
"It is true his royal highness did not sleep in his house after information came that there are moves to arrest him for reasons we don't know," the source said. "The governor had to arrange for him to be smuggled into the Government House where he passed the night."
It is not clear why the government wanted to arrest the emir. The spokesperson of the Kano state command of the police, Magaji Majiya, did not answer or return calls made to his mobile telephone.
The spokesperson of the SSS, Marilyn Ogar, could also not be reached for comments.
Mr. Sanusi has however been having a running battle with the administration after he was, on February 20, suspended from office as Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria by President Goodluck Jonathan while he was away in Niamey, Niger Republic, on official assignment.
Upon his return to Nigeria, operatives of the State Security Service, briefly arrested and detained him, and also confiscated his passport.
Mr. Jonathan had stated that Mr. Sanusi was suspended over allegations of financial recklessness by the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria, FRC, an accusation Mr. Sanusi denied.
On May 3, SSS operatives at the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport again prevented him from travelling out of the country.
They also seized his passport again despite his presentation of an order of a Lagos High Court preventing the government from harassing him and restraining his movement.
The SSS had through its counsel stated that it seized Mr. Sanusi's passport because he was being investigated for sponsoring terrorism, a claim the court described as an afterthought.

Meanwhile, the new emir received his appointment letter from Kano state Government at the Government House, Kano on Monday, according to the spokesperson of Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso, Baba Dantiye.
Mr. Dantiye however said the new emir had not yet been turbaned.
"He has received his appointment letter and other traditional stuff this morning," Mr. Dantiye said. Doris Simeon is one of Nollywood's s*xy actresses. Several months ago, her marriage to Daniel Ademinokan packed up when the news hit the streets that he was in a hot affair with one of her colleagues, Stella Damasus. Not only did her marriage crash, Daniel and Stella have since relocated abroad to live as husband and wife. The scenario didn't stop there, Doris' only child was taken away to the U.S with them. This left Doris devastated for a while, but she has bounced back. In this interview with City People, the pretty actress opened up on her marriage, and more.How was growing-up for you?
I grew up in Ojota and growing up for me was very interesting and comedy-like, from a ghetto kind of home. I learnt a lot of things from that environment, it was really fun for me. Living in a face-me-I-face-you house, whenever you put the experience together, it is always like a movie and then you hear other people's silver-spoon story but I think the ghetto own is the best. You gain a lot of experience from people you grew up with, "Aunty Adugbo" and "Uncle Adugbo". It was really fun for me.
You seem to have moved on after your marriage break-up, what really led to the break-up?
Obviously, life, goes on. Shit happens. If it is not working well, walk out of it. You don't have to die on whatever it is. It is just one of those things. What has kept you going after all the controversies?
My God and the advice of my parents. Though, they are late but their prayers and the way they groomed me to this level before they passed on has really kept me going. How where you able to stand after the whole saga? It is not easy but I just had to sit up and think about it, if you die in your agony what would be left for whoever you have behind. It is better to sit up. That is why they said, 'when there is life, there is hope'. Sit up and think of the next step you have to take and think of how to be a better you and affecting people's lives positively. Did you think it could happen? Sources have revealed to us that controversial Nigerian actress, Tonto Dikeh, has been signed by D'banj to his recording outfit DB Records.
The deal had previously been speculated earlier this week, after Tonto was photographed with the entire DB Records crew, in what seemed like a get-together of some sort.
Tonto who has achieved remarkable success in Nollywood over the years, had taken the leap into music production, recording, and publishing, but a majority of her songs such as 'Hi', 'Jeje', and a few more, have received negative and, for the most part, malicious feedback from the Nigerian public.
We also gathered that along with Tonto Dikeh, DB Records also have added 2 brothers, 2Kriss, who have inked a deal to join the record label. 2Kriss are a collaboration of two brothers with versatile musical productions ranging from Hiphop to Afro-Pop. They previously were signed onto Bigboyz Ent, but with their crossover to DB Records, their career can only get bigger.
With speculations and unconfirmed rumours circulating about the Tonto Dikeh deal, there have been mixed reactions to the move. Many are of the opinion that Tonto was not recruited for her musical dexterity, but as a PR stunt to add a certain allure and spotlight on DB Records. Also, it is public knowledge that D'banj and Tonto Dikeh are friends, and the new deal is just a step forward in what has been a good relationship.
Tonto Dikeh on paper, stands to gain a fairly good number of advantages, as she will now have unfettered access to the production abilities of 2Kriss and DeeVee, as well as the mentorship of D'banj and Kay Switch, while also benefiting from the 'musical' atmosphere that exist in organized record labels.

They should shift the focus from me and place priority on the matters at hand, and place it on the safety of Nigerians, rescuing the abducted girls, deleting the bill that legally puts our little girls in the hands of pedophiles, paying attention to the amount of women dying from domestic violence daily, unemployment, inadequate health care, proper education, pension funds, economic development and all the other things that are affecting the nation." Armed gunmen in a blue Honda with registration nos HR152ABC on Sunday abducted the two ladies pictured above, Ejura Opaluwa and Unekwu Opaluwa ( Ejura is a medical student at St. Lucia University, South America while Unekwu is a Covenant University student, studying Economics) from their home in Karmo Abuja. The family of a 28-year-old woman, Vivian Ndukwu, has demanded that the marriage rites of their late daughter must be performed by a pastor of the Christ Embassy, who has been accused of being responsible for the pregnancy that allegedly led to her death. According to Punch, it was gathered that the 29-year-old pastor, identified simply as Hillary, was being detained at the State Criminal Investigations Department, Yaba, Lagos.He was accused by the family to have had a secret romantic relationship with the deceased, who was a choir member in the church. It was said that in order to avoid scandals, the couple decided to keep the relationship a secret. The secret romance continued until Vivian became pregnant. When it became obvious that they could no longer keep the pregnancy a secret, Vivian was said to have agreed with Hillary that she should relocate to Agbara town in Ogun State to stay with a woman who had an orphanage. Vivian allegedly told her parents that she was going to Abuja. She stayed at the orphanage until she was delivered of a baby girl on May 3, 2014.It was learnt that eight days after the delivery of the baby, Vivian was taken to a hospital after she complained of fever and headache. She eventually died, while her remains had been taken to the Badagry General Hospital morgue.The owner of the orphanage, Mrs. Grace Kato, however, claimed that Vivian never stayed at her place. She said, "Vivian called me three days after the birth of her baby. She said she wanted me to help her with the hospital bills, that she was stranded in the hospital. Out of compassion, I went to the hospital to help." She admitted that she took Vivian home after delivery to rest at her place for two days before returning to her parents.She added that Vivian, however, ended up staying at her place for five days before she died. She said, "I brought her to my house to rest for a day or two before taking her to her parents. In the process, I had to travel for my uncle's burial. That was why she stayed that long because she was waiting for me to return. I came back on Saturday night, May 10, and the next day, she complained of a slight headache and we took her to another hospital nearby. That was where she died." The hospital where Vivian was said to have died, claimed that she was rushed to the hospital unstable and restless. According to a doctor in the hospital, the people on duty stabilised her condition and referred her to a general hospital. The source, who preferred to remain anonymous, said, "She was brought in on May 11, at about 1.20pm, unstable and restless. The story was that her complaint started that morning. Her blood pressure was also high. Being that we were not in possession of her past medical records, we acted based on clinical situation and referred her to a general hospital.The people that brought her left and so there was no one to take her to where she had been referred to hours after stabilising her condition. Several calls to the number they gave us were replied with one story or the other. At some point, the lady started gasping, and eventually died. It was not until the following day that they came to pick up her remains." The father of the deceased, Emmanuel Ndukwu, told our correspondent on the telephone that the orphanage founder had agreed with her late daughter to take custody of the child after delivery without the consent of the family. He said he and his wife knew nothing about the pregnancy, adding that his daughter left his house and told the family that she was going to Abuja. He said, "After telling us that she was going to Abuja, we did not hear from her until her death. But we later learnt that Grace (orphanage owner) and her husband had organised a naming ceremony for the new baby without informing us. Emmanuel said he was not aware of the relationship between the pastor and his daughter until the sad incident. He said, "My family and the pastor's family have met and we agreed that Hillary will perform all the marriage rites for my late daughter according to the tradition of our people. We are doing this because a child is involved. The pastor did not deny his responsibility, so the normal thing must be done." The state Police Public Relations Officer, Ngozi Braide, confirmed Vivian's death and added that the matter was still under investigation. TOP STORIES Sad news! Chidiogo, one of the children of the late former Director-General, National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, Prof. Dora Akunyili, has described the final moments she spent with her mother.  Chidiogo wrote, "To many, she was an icon, to others, she was an inspiration, to me, she was my mother and all of the above. What I told her just last week stays with me, 'I am your daughter, and you raised me, you have been in the midst of everything, mummy and that is the strength that is now mine and all of us your children. It is also the strength of a whole nation; you touched so many lives, and that is a blessing that must not be taken lightly.' Chidiogo thanked her friends and Nigerians for extending condolences to her family as she also offered prayers for the repose of the deceased. "Thank you all my dear friends from the bottom of my heart for your kind words. Mummy, may your soul rest in eternal peace, one with God, who you loved and served above all else."
