Boko Haram Demands 40 Cows Per Hostage For 20 Women Abducted Near Chibok!

Boko Haram terrorists are reportedly asking for 40 cows as a precondition for the release of each of the 20 abducted Fulani women, whom they had held in captivity for about a week now, husbands of the abducted women and security sources have said.

The insurgents who picked up the women in Garkin Fulani, a nomadic settlement near Chibok town last week Thursday are now reaching out to the husbands of the kidnapped women with what could be described as ransom.

A police official in Maiduguri who spoke to LEADERSHIP under strict condition of anonymity said many Fulani herdsmen had reported cases of abduction to them in various police Divisional headquarters and outposts around Damboa and Kaga local government areas of Borno State.

The police source said, the husbands and fathers of the abducted women were not ready to part with even a single calf as ransom for the release of their wives and daughters.

'You know the Fulanis hold their herds more dearly, because without it they have no means of livelihood", said the police Sergeant. "Most of them have come to report the incident at our offices but they are all saying such demands are not tenable".

The officer said they were presently handling a particular case at the police Divisional Outpost in Jakana town of Kaga local government, about 50km away from Maiduguri, where the Fulani man said he would rather stay without his wife than giving out what he does not even have.

"This man in question has a son delivered to him by his abducted wife and presently the man and his son are at the police station in Jakana; he said he was asked to provide 40 cows as ransom for the release of his abducted wife, but the man said he has his son with him; and that if God wills that his wife would return to him, he doesn't need to part with his means of livelihood to secure her back".

The Fulani man's concern was that "what if he gave out the cows, which are not even up to 40 and then his wife was not released; it means he would lose in both ways. So he would rather keep his herds and his son and pray that his wife returns safely home one day".

There are a lot of concerns being expressed around Borno State as to the increasing impunity of the Boko Haram, whose activities were gradually becoming unchecked.

Borno State police command has hitherto not been able to officially issue any statement in respect of the abducted Fulani women, even though the police public relations officer of the state police command had on Monday promised to get back to journalists once he could confirm the veracity of the abduction itself.

Garkin Fulani is situated not very far from Chibok town, where the 219 schoolgirls still in the captivity of the Boko Haram were picked alongside 57 others that had escaped back on the 14th of April this year.

A 41-year-old man appeared before an Ebute-Meta Chief Magistrates' Court for allegedly killing his aged father, Lagos, Southwestern Nigeria.
Yusuf Akinbiyi, the accused, and 86-year-old Agboola Akinbiyi, the defeated, were living together at Madon village, Ijede Ikorodu, Lagos. Moreover, Akinbiyi had no job and was dependent on his father.
A bloodcurdling incident happened on May 21 at about 11.05 p.m. at the deceased's residence. The father's unwillingness to sell the land belonging to him sparked the argument that resulted in his own death.

It was gathered that on the money raised from the sale of land the younger Akinbiyi was going to travel abroad but his father was strongly against this idea.
When an amicable way of persuading did not work, the Yusuf Akinbiyi brutally beat the old man with his hands and covered his mouth and nose with pillow till the man stopped breathing.
After a while the accused was arrested on suspicion of premeditated murder. The body of the deceased had been deposited at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital mortuary for autopsy.
The accused is facing a one-count charge of murder, as the offence contravened Section 221 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.

The magistrate, Miss A.O Komolafe, ordered that the accused be kept in prison custody pending legal advice from the Lagos State Director of Public Prosecutions. The court did not take the plea of the accused and the case was adjourned till August 11 for mention.

A girl kidnapped by Boko Haram for 27 months told her shocking story to 1Q4 news..Meenah Dawah(real name withheld for security reasons) says she has a baby which may belong to Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau.She was kidnapped at 17 after being forced to watch her parents being shot dead by the dreaded sect in her village in Konduga town, northern Nigeria.

While in captivity, she had to care for children born to Boko Haram commanders and members, and would tremble in fear as she heard girls scream as they were raped, and in some cases watch how girls were tortured for refusing to change their faith. She described how on occasions some top leaders of Boko Haram would come, and she was asked to entertain them.

It was on such visits she insists that Abubakar Shekau, Nigeria's most wanted man, and Boko Haram leader, slept with her...She said.....

"He would just appear from nowhere like a ghost.He seems to be panicking all the time and issuing instructions. He is a softly spoken man – it is almost as if he whispers, if you are meeting him for the first time, you would never be scared of him.

But I soon learned that after every whisper something dangerous would happen somewhere in Nigeria.Depending on the camp, some of the camps have everything, electricity, water and television, with different kind of electronics.He once asked me if I was willing to fight for the cause, to which I answered no, he told me I could be a fighter and a domestic slave. I didn't want to speak to him in case what I said offended him.All it would take was one wrong word and he would have had me killed. I thought he was drinking or taking something whenever he came, one could notice maybe he lost men or something was not right.We moved a lot and depending on the camp, my role varied, it was so tough travelling around with a baby strapped to my back. Abu has many kids from many different women.Some of us women would go to Maiduguri to buy things when we have shortage, and a commander or two would follow us, and we acted as decoy when villages are ambushed.I'd be sent in to talk to people, then they'd move in behind me and start killing.Some of us girls would also have to carry guns, and often bombs too, there was this girl, she was forced to carry a rocket-propelled grenade launcher on her shoulder, then we had few men in that particular camp."

Meenah managed to escape when she was badly wounded by a bullet, after the Nigerian army attacked their camp. She was left for dead.The bullet in her leg was only recently removed at the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital in Borno State.

She has an uncle as a sole surviving relative, and it has not been easy as her uncle has not receive her warmly.

"My uncle will not have me because he is ashamed of my child whose paternity is not only questionable but is dangerous if it is Shekau.Before my parents were shot in the attack on our village, my dad had made plans for me to go and finish my secondary school in Government Girl Secondary School Shaffa, where we have a distant relative, but she was also killed in an attack on her way back from a market in that area.I know I am intelligent and willing to learn, but where do I start from?"

Ghanaian born Nollywood actress, Nadia Buari, has shown once again that she is a real African woman who would not want to indulge in any harmful acts that will dent her image.

The top actress, according to reports from her media minders, was approached by a French cosmetic company, Avant Claire Grande, to be their brand ambassador representing the African continent.

The endorsement contract was a bid for Avant Claire to lace into the African market using Nadia because she appealed to their target market better than any other African celebrity based on their research.

But at the point of signing the contract, the Diary of Imogen actress and producer, realised that the Claire product contained compounds of hydroquinone, a chemical used for skin whitening and bleaching, and she promptly 'rejected the deal because she does not want to endorse anything that would be harmful to her people'.

Asari Dokubo has been a very strong voice of opposition regarding the kidnap of Chibok school girls.He has said it's a scam..When asked by Vanguard why he thinks so even with the international community stepping in..he said

The United States of America with her allies Britain and the European Union cajoled the whole world and told us that there were weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. At the end of the day, were there weapons of mass destruction? There was none. So the international community for whatever intent and purpose that is compelling them to do what they are doing is best known to them. But it will not be far from economic interest. How can you believe that 270 girls will be taken? How? It is not possible. If you tell us that 20 girls were taken, 30, maybe 50, fine. How will you tell us that 270 girls were writing physics exam? How? In which school? Where? Even in the most educationally advanced part of this country, can you find any school where even 20 students are writing physics? I run a school. How many of my students are writing physics? They just finished their SSCE? And this is an elitist school, we make very good results. How many people are writing physics? Who are they telling?

So, if you are not into education business, somebody can cajole you and tell you a lot of stories. When they took the students, the Principal, who said she thought they were soldiers, again said she was in Maiduguri for medical treatment when they came. Her daughter too was in the school. Why didn't they take her daughter? Why did they take other peoples daughters? The military was aware four hours before the attack; the people who sent the information that Chibok was to be attacked four hours to the military, why did they not inform the chairman of Chibok, SSS Rep, DPO or anybody in Chibok?

The Chibok community leader who has been talking, why didn't they say, 'Please, move the girls, we are suspecting that there was going to be an attack on the school? Move these children out of the school'. Why was it only the military they told? They couldn't reach any other person but the military? What are they telling us now? Ok, today, one of the girls said she ran and jumped over the fence. She climbed the tree and then the man was saying come down, come down o'. What sort of thing is this now? So, the girl can climb a tree faster than a man with a gun? Why didn't you just simply shoot her and he left her and went away? And some four persons were found in their house and they said they escaped and came back? What sort of stories?

REVEALED: Why Sanusi hasn’t moved into the Emir’s Palace! [PHOTOS]

Contrary to reports, the new Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, is operating outside the Emir's palace due to security concerns, but because of "certain normal arrangements that precedes any emir's grand entry into the palace," a source familiar with the workings of the emirate council said on Wednesday.

He said the presence of the police within the Emir's palace area was meant to safeguard it against protesters.

He added that most of the Emirs in the past, including the immediate past Emir, late Ado Bayero, took sometime before they went into the palace.

"Traditionally, a new Emir does not even go into the palace through the front door," he said.

"Rather, he chooses within the wall of the palace a specific location in which he wants to use to enter the palace. That portion of the wall is then opened for him to enter."

The source explained that the late Ado Bayero used a part of the western end of the fence to enter the palace.

"If you notice towards the western end, along Yola road, you will see an opening that is covered with concrete block, that was the door Ado Bayero used when he was appointed as emir," he said.

He also added that if the police or protesters were there to stop the new Emir from gaining entrance, they would have stopped the party that went to the palace to fetch the paraphernalia of office that was handed over to Sanusi.

"The police provided security escort to the team that went to fetch all those items and it was not done in the hidden, the vehicles went through the main gate and none attempted to stop them despite knowing of their mission," he said.

The items recovered from the palace and handed over to the new Emir include the symbolic Dabo's Crown (Malafar Dabo), Tagwayen Masu (twin spears), Takobi (sword), Wukar Yanka (a knife that signifies supremacy of judgement) and Takalmin Jimina (ostrich plumage shoes).

Another source within the Kano State Government who also declined to be named said the family of the late Emir also need time to fully relocate to their new abode provided by the state government.

"The late Emir had a large family and they will need to take their time to relocate and no one is in a hurry to move them," he said.

"Beside, you know they are still receiving condolences at the palace."

Police spokesperson in Kano, Magaji Majiya, also told a news agency that security presence in the palace was just to secure the place and ensure there is no escalation of violence following the protest that greeted the announcement of the new emir.

Ghanaian born born Nollywood actor, Majid Michel, has found himself in a messy adultery and fraud scandal that is threatening his marriage and credibility.

According to Ghana's number one entertainment website, ghanacelebrities.com, a Ghanaian based in the United States of America claims that Majid is dating his sister while claiming to be divorced from his wife.

They man also claimed that Majid allegedly collected the sum of $10, 000 from the lady with the intention of producing a movie but ended up pocketing the money.

According to the USA based Ghanaian, the sister somehow seems to believe what Majid told her and guy wanted to find out if indeed Majid Michel is divorced as he claims.

36 Year old Nigerian woman sentenced to 25 years in jail in Cambodia for drug trafficking! [PHOTOS]

A Cambodian Municipal Court yesterday June 11th sentenced 36 year old Nigerian woman, Collin Seniola Bosede to 25 years in prison for international drug trafficking after being found with 1.5kg of methamphetamine in her bag at the Phnom Penh International Airport in August 2013.

Bosede, who was travelling to Cambodia from Nigeria on August 4th made a stop at Qatar where according to her confessional statement, she met with a Canadian man named Amad who handed her a bag containing cassette players, the drug, clothes and a laptop and asked her to give it to an unidentified man in Cambodia. She was arrested as she landed at the Phnom Penh Airport.

During her trial on May 27th 2014, Bosede said she did not know the bag contained any drug as what she saw was only the laptop and the clothes in the bag. As the court read the verdict yesterday, she began crying. "It was very unjust. I was not the drug trafficker. Please release me. I want to go back home," Bosede said.

MEET Nigeria's Youngest PhD Graduate In Mathematics: 24-Year-Old Olaoluwa Oluwadara! [PHOTO]

A 24-year-old, Olaoluwa Oluwadara, has bagged a Ph.D degree in Mathematics at the just concluded 2012/2013 session convocation ceremony at the University of Lagos.

Olaoluwa, who bagged his first and second degrees in Mathematics and Physics in 2007 and 2008 respectively from the Universite de Bangui in Central African Republic, graduated with a Cummulative Gross Point Average (CGPA) of 5.0 [first degree].

Olaoluwa's feat supersedes that of Olabisi Adeyemi, a 26-year-old female who bagged a Ph.D with a CGPA of 4.98 in 2012 and Opeyemi Shodipe, 25 of Babcock University.

While speaking during the convocation, the Vice Chancellor of UNILAG, Professor Rahmon Bello, appealed to President Goodluck Jonathan to urgently intervene in the resolution of the over 10-month strike embarked upon by the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics and the Academic Staff Union of Colleges of Education of Nigeria (ASUCEON).

He appealed to the Federal Government to consider the demands of the striking lecturers to ensure that students of the polyechnics and colleges of education resumed their suspended academic work.

This, Rahman said was "In the interest of our students and to stem the falling standard of education and the increasingly degenerating infrastructure facilities worsened by the insurgency of Boko Haram."

He also emphatised with the Federal Government as well as the President on having to deal with the Boko Haram insurgency, praying for a quick resolution and return of the Chibok school girls that were abducted in April.

The vice chancellor further charged Nigerians on the need to support the Federal government and proffer some home grown solutions to the issue of insecurity in the country "which seems to be hydra-headed and growing like a wild fire."

The institution's Governing Council chairman, Professor Jerry Gana, while speaking assured that the name: University of Lagos would remain same just as the former Head of State, General Yakubu Gowon GCFR, stated on Tuesday, adding that the name itsekd is a source of pride. It would be recalled that President Goodluck Jonathan, in 2012, made an announcement to change the name of the institution to Moshood Abiola University, this decision was met with a protests and criticisms from many quarters and is currently pending at the National House of Assembly.

In his address, President Jonathan, who is also the visitor to the university, represented by the Executive Secretary of the National Universities Commission (NUC), Julius Okojie, reiterated the federal government's pledge to work towards improving the education sector in Nigeria by turning the "brain drain in the Nigeria to a brain gain."

He charged the 9,729 graduating students on the need work harder and equip themselves with the skills to be successful and relevant on this 21st century as, "with every convocation, the future of our nation is assured."

'Our Marriage Will Last..'. -Actress Toyin Aimakhu-Johnson Blasts 'Haters'.

Nollywood actress, Toyin Aimakhu-Johnson has been in the news lately for the wrong reasons: she was accused of hitting her husband Adeniyi Johnson in public and that she has no respect for him at all and calls him names.

Toyin was also said to have called her husband, all sorts of horrible names just because he brought in a visitor, while she was in the company of her friends smoking marijuana in their matrimonial home. That is not all, it was said that the couple were having financial problems, and that they relocated to from their Lekki apartment to Ajah, because of inability to pay the rent at Lekki.

Toyin was also said to live fake life, sleep around to meet up with the Jones'. Anyway, Toyin did not ignore these allegations as she sent a mail to Stella Dimoko-Korkus to clear the air. In her own words:

"Hi Stella, I'm responding to this cos of my fans And nothing more And after this I won't respond to you or anyone again..Let me address what i feel is important. The person that sent this to you is only jealous And nothing more, but I will soon shock them as usual (Lol).

The person is either a close friend or a close colleague who can't handle my success Cos nobody can ever spell my surname right, so it's obviously someone close..

Now let me go straight to the point, please Stella if I slap my husband in public I'm sure you know it will be a trending thing for months? since when does having a misunderstanding with ones husband privately become people's business? A saying goes 'a wise man lets his wife control the home'..okomi, olowo ori mi, Adeniyi mi will always be the head and God will not put such habit in my life, so that one is no issue.. I do not control my husband,God is the controller.
2ndly, that I'm broke, have I ever said to anyone that I'm rich? or have I ever put Gucci or LV bag on my Instagram?.. my father is not rich, so why would I want to marry a rich man by force.? We moved to Lekki county homes. I'm starting My life with My Man, or which successful man in Nigeria or all over the world does not have a grass to grace story?
About marijuana, who ever says such woo betide the person And God will show himself to the person. I used to smoke cigarettes and I never hid it for once ,you can ask around but I have stopped smoking a lot (But I still hide and smoke cos of my hubby Lol)…
Sleeping around,?the day that I start it may God take my life.. Am so content cos I wasn't born with a silver spoon, grew up in the village, I don't know any monarch they are talking about , sometimes you think you have friends and you gist them that a particular person toasted you and they advice you wrongly hoping you will follow the advice..
My mum and god mother said tell people What they want to hear, most times I lie to people around me about stuffs cos I don't want them to know… I have the best husband in the world, so when they complain about theirs i just complain about mine too.. is this what they called scandal?
Is it not obvious the person is just jealous?.. happiness is within, if you are not happy you can't fake it..like I said I got a Deal with Vas2net, Jlinks,tell the person to go and hug a transformer.. it's my Life and I decide what to do and Mr and Mrs Johnson are not complaining .

Tuface announced this on the 8^th of June, 2014 at the CECP Cancer Charity event which held at the Eko Hotel & Suites in Lagos.

Mr Idibia who would be turning 68 next month, is expected to commence chemotherapy soon, in a bid to stop the spread of the deadly virus.

A Wealthy Teenage Students fall to their Death While Having S*x On A Sixth Floor Balcony [Photo]

A wealthy teenage student plunged to her death from a sixth floor balcony while celebrating the end of her exams.

Anastasia Tutik, 19, was in a romantic clinch with a second student when the pair lost their balance as their friends partied nearby.

The two teenagers fell more than 60ft and died instantly from catastrophic injuries outside the luxury apartment block.

Anastasia's parents, who live in Russia, were believed to be flying to London tonight after being informed of the horrific accident.

The parents of the second victim, an 18-year-old known only as Miguel, were also in shock after being told of his death at their home in Monterrey, Mexico.

In the early hours of today, witnesses described hearing a terrible 'bang' and one said he saw the couple fall after they hugged and kissed.

Samson Oguntayo, 32, who lives in a neighbouring block, said: 'They were trying to have s*x on the balcony. The guy was lifting the girl and putting her on the bannister, he kept on doing it.

'He was putting her on there – they were going back and forth. You could see they were doing some really dangerous stuff.

'It is not the first time we have seen people on the balcony acting up.

'At some point friends must have come outside and they got down and came back inside and then came back out again. This time they started doing it again.

'You see people on the balcony doing all sorts of things and I just felt it was one of those things and in a moment they will probably go back inside.

'The last thing I expected was to see them falling down. We just screamed.'

Mr Oguntayo said he ran to the scene and discovered both teenagers lying dead in a pool of blood on a stone patio.

How President Jonathan Is Secretly Plotting To Kill Me – State Governor Reveals

In an exclusive interview with Premium Times Wednesday, Mr. Kwankwaso said the president was after his life and had ordered the withdrawal of half of his security details in a ploy to open him up to physical attacks.

"I have told my friends, and people of Kano, Nigerians and indeed the international community to hold Jonathan responsible for whatever happens to Kwankwaso, his family or even the people of Kano state," Mr. Kwankwaso said at Kano State governor's lodge in Abuja.

He accused the president of igniting crisis in Kano State after a former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Lamido Sanusi, emerged the emir of Kano Sunday.

Presidential spokespersons, Reuben Abati and Doyin Okupe, did not respond to Premium Times requests for comments Wednesday.

The relationship between President Jonathan and Governor Kwankwaso, which for months had been all but warm, deteriorated in 2013 after Mr. Kwankwaso decamped from the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to the All Progressives Congress, APC.

Since then, both men have openly accused each other of corruption and ineptitude.

Mr. Sanusi's emergence, Sunday, as emir of the powerful Kano emirate, revved up the squabble.

The presidency and the PDP were clearly opposed to the candidacy of the former CBN boss, who was removed from his post by Mr. Jonathan in February.

Protests broke out in Kano shortly after the announcement of the new emir, as his supporters clashed with those of his opponent, the son of the former emir, Ado Bayero, who died Friday.

Mr. Kwankwaso told Premium Times he has "credible information" the president instructed his supporters in Kano to unleash "mayhem" on the state.

"We don't know his intention, but, certainly the intention is not good," he said. "We have to tell him that igniting crisis in Kano is not in the interest of anybody. We have enough crisis already in the country, and now they are funding their stooges in Kano to protest and burn government properties."

The governor accused the president of igniting crisis in Kano because the state is controlled by the APC.

"Recently, we also lost an esteemed Emir in Gombe and they basically followed the same process to elect a new emir, but they did not say anything because it is a PDP state.

"Now they are funding crisis in our state, I have never seen something like this," the governor said.

Siege on emir's palace

Mr. Kwankwaso said the new Kano emir is unable to move to the palace due to a police siege on the building- a development he blamed on the presidency.

He accused the presidency of planning to arrest Mr. Sanusi to stop his appointment as emir.

"We got information that they were planning to arrest him, so, we moved him to the Government House. I don't want to imagine what would have happened if they succeeded," he said.

The governor said his government and the APC enjoy overwhelming support in the state and was only bidding their time before reacting to the "intimidation" from the federal government.

"By the recent survey we just had and the local government election we held, we enjoy about 92 per cent support of the population, and the remaining 8 per cent are brewing and supporting crisis. There will come a time when this 92 per cent will be on the offensive, that is when they will realise that they are making a mistake.

"A sitting president brewing a crisis in a state like Kano? Everybody in this country knows that it is Jonathan that is creating this problem in Kano. I am yet to know why, but posterity will clearly show what his intentions are," he said.

On the siege on the Emir's palace, Mr. Kwankwaso said his government was just "watching and seeing how far they can go".
