Police ordered to arrest new Emir of Kano, Sanusi, for 'Fraud' (President Jonathan vs Sanusi) Posted: 11 Jun 2014 05:25 PM PDT     According to a report by Sahara Reporters, police have been ordered to arrest the new Emir of Kano for 'Fraud'. Below is how SR is reporting it.. The Nigerian police have been ordered to arrest the newly-crowned Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, on fraud-related charges stemming from his tenure as Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). According to reliable sources at the Presidency in Abuja, the team of policemen at the Emir's palace in Kano received the order from the Nigeria police headquarters to place Mr. Sanusi under arrest if he leaves the Kano Governor's lodge. The sources told SaharaReporters that Mr. Sanusi was to be arrested at his private home on Sunday night after his appointment was announced by the Kano State Governor. It would be recalled that the presidency embarked on several frantic measures to frustrate the former CBN governor's emergence as Emir, including the premature congratulations of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to one of the candidates before the choice was announced. Since becoming Emir, Mr. Sanusi has been inside the Kano State governor's lodge, receiving visitors and undertaking traditional rites. The source also told SaharaReporters that some notable northern leaders have already warned President Jonathan to avoid such a reckless action so as to avoid setting fire to the already volatile situation in the city of Kano. It is not known if President Jonathan is favoring back channel dialogue aimed at resolving the mess. Ritualist Arrested With Fresh Human Head In Orile, Lagos! [PHOTO] Posted: 11 Jun 2014 11:34 AM PDT    The unidentified suspect aged 38 was arrested for possessing a fresh human head in Orile area of Lagos. Lagos Police spokeswoman, Ngozi Braide who made this known to reporters today in Lagos said the man was caught yesterday in Orile by Anti-robbery police squad. "The police team that arrested the suspect was led by Inspector Bernard Oyinlade, while they were conducting a 'stop and search' operation near the white sand area of Orile. "The team stopped the man who was walking along the road with a polythene bag having suspected him and immediately called for a search. "He immediately took to his heels and was pursued. "He was arrested and during the searching of his bag, a suspected fresh human skull was found. "The suspect is undergoing interrogation. "He will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigations Department, Panti, Yaba for further investigations," Braide said. Awwww! They met at a wedding reception months back and he proposed a few days ago in Church. Read her beautiful story below:   "I met him (Kenny) at a wedding reception. We were both on the dance floor and we danced together for couple of minutes before one of my guy friends came to drag me away from him. I followed my friend and we went outside to talk. Kenny after few minutes came after me and asked me to talk in front of my guy friend. My friend laughed and said "they are here looking for you again as usual" and he left. So now I was stuck with Kenny to talk to. He told me he liked me and I should please honor him by giving him my number. I felt reluctant and told him to give me his instead. He refused and pleaded. He pulled out his phone but unfortunately for him his phone was dead. I was happy but then he ran to his friend to get his phone so he can enter my number. I was standing there like "damn it." Then I gave him my old phone number thinking he wouldn't call it right infront of me. He did and my phone didn't ring. The he realized I was lying and pleaded again. So I gave him and walked away. He called me that night asking how I was and hope I was home safely. It was weird and sweet and I replied him I was ok. From this point forward, we gradually built a slow-healthy-relationship. I said slow because I was a "hard-ass" for him but he was PATIENT! About the proposal, he came around for my graduation and I graduated university May 14th which was a Huge blessing for me, for Him and my family. And on a Sunday 23rd of May, he made me the happiest girl alive. He proposed to me in the church. In front of the whole congregation singing my best song to me "All of me" by John Legend! Now tell me this isn't a double blessing in one month. I am now engaged to my best friend, lover, brother, partner, father, better-half and my God's favor. He makes me so happy. Jim Iyke plays 'SMART' when asked about his affair with Nadia Buari and T.B Joshua in new interesting interview! Posted: 11 Jun 2014 11:16 AM PDT    Nollywood actor, Jim Iyke recently had a chat with Emma Emerson of Golden Icons where they discussed a range of issues. In the 90 minute long interview the actor took his time to respond to the questions thrown at him including some personal issues such as the loss of his mum, his engagement to Ghanaian actress Nadia Buari, the spiritual 'deliverance' at Prophet T.B Joshua's Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN),  breakup with ex-fiance Keturah Hamilton, and of-course, his reality TV show. When asked to talk about his ex-girlfriend, Kenturah Hamilton and their nasty break up, he said "Kenturah was amazing....everything she said against me was out of emotion...she said it out of emotion, she didn't mean it cos we lived well. I could control my mouth and emotions, that's why I ddn't say a word to the media about it but she couldn't and i don't blame her for that. Dora Akinyuli was healthy until she lost Anambra senatorial election to Senator Chris Ngige - Family tells it ALL! Posted: 11 Jun 2014 10:56 AM PDT    Family sources have told SaharaReporters that Dora Akunyili, a former professor of pharmacy, former director general of the National Agency for Foods and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), and one-time Minister of Information, died of complications arising from uterine cancer. One relative told SaharaReporters that Mrs. Akunyili was completely healthy until she lost the Anambra senatorial election in 2011 to Senator Chris Ngige. The source stated that, at the end of the legal tussle over the election, the former minister visited the U.S. in 2013 to undergo what she thought would be a routine medical checkup. "Her doctor in America did a hysterectomy and found out that she had a malignant endometrial cancer," said this source. He added that it was the tumor that eventually took her life last week in a hospital in the Indian city of Bangalore after she had struggled with the disease for two years. Another family source stated that Mrs. Akunyili had received the best treatment after undergoing surgery to remove the tumor, but disclosed that the cancer was of such malignant state that it resisted therapy. One of the two sources revealed that Mrs. Akunyili maintained an optimistic spirit throughout her illness. "She never once believed that she would succumb to the disease," he said. "Instead, she returned to Nigeria determined to fight the disease." He added that the former minister was so upbeat about triumphing over the sickness that she accepted her nomination as a delegate to the ongoing National Confab in Abuja. Her emaciated appearance at the conference was the first sign that she was seriously ill. The other family source also said that, in 1998, Mrs. Akunyili had received a wrong diagnosis of cancer. She was serving then as the Zonal Secretary (Southeast) of the Petroleum Trust Fund (PTF). "She traveled to the UK then for treatment. Doctors then discovered that she was suffering from irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). Said the family source: "Once she returned to Nigeria, she paid back the money the PTF had given her for treatment. General Muhammadu Buhari was then the leader of PTF. She was in excellent health until last year when her US doctor found that she had malignant endometrial cancer." Governor Fashola declares tomorrow; June 12 public holiday! Posted: 11 Jun 2014 11:01 AM PDT   Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Fashola, today June 11th approved Thursday, June 12, 2014 as public holiday in Lagos to commemorate the June 12 1993 presidential election that was won by Late Chief Moshood Abiola. The approval was contained in a circular signed today by the Head of Service Lagos State, Mrs Oluseyi Williams. The circular reads in part; "In commemoration of June 12, 1993 as significant in the actualization of Democracy in Nigeria, it is hereby notified for general information that His Excellency, Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola, SAN, the Governor of Lagos State, has approved Thursday, 12th June, 2014 as a work free day." Boko Haram Kills 6, Raze 2 churches In Fresh attacks in Plateau state! Posted: 11 Jun 2014 06:58 AM PDT   Gunmen launched an attack on residents of Gako and Tanjol communities in Riyom LGA of Plateau State in the early hours of this morning June 11th, killing at least 6 people and burning 2 churches.   Residents of the communities say five officers of the Police Special Task Force were also killed but this has not been verified.   Confirming today's attack, an Assistant Superintendent of Police and state Police spokesperson, Mr. Dominic Esin who spoke with Premium Times said 5 other people were injured in the attack and they have all been hospitalized "On June 11 at about 1 a.m., unknown gunmen invaded two villages of Gako and Tanjol, shooting sporadically and in the process killing 6 persons, and injuring 5 others. The injured persons where rushed to the Vom Christian Hospital. Normalcy has been restored in the attacked areas and members of the public are advised to go about their lawful business and report any unscrupulous elements to the security agencies" he said. TOO BAD! Father-in-Law viciously Attacks son's wife, stabs her in the eye, Neck and wrist! [PHOTOS] Posted: 11 Jun 2014 06:36 AM PDT   The photo on the above shows the horrific injuries a Sikh woman suffered after being attacked by her father-in-law because he thought she was having an affair with a Muslim man. Jageer Mirgind was left blind and scarred for life after 51-year-old Manjit Mirgind slashed her wrists and stabbed her in the eyes screaming 'I am going to kill you'. Mrs Mirgind's children, just three and six years old, watched the horrific attack at their mum's home in Kensington Gardens, Ilford, East London, and pleaded with their grandfather to stop. The mother has been left partially-sighted in both eyes while the children can no longer sleep alone and have recurring nightmares. The crazed attacker wrongly believed his daughter-in-law was 'sleeping with a Paki' and that she had 'ruined his family', Snaresbrook Crown Court heard.  Tragically, Mirgind misunderstood the situation when his daughter was the victim of a series of prank calls. After punching her in the face he dragged her into the kitchen where he savagely kicked her before grabbing a knife. He eventually left and went home as his wife called an ambulance for Mrs Mirgind. He later turned himself in at the police station and told them exactly what had happened.    Judge Nigel Peters QC said: 'You have accepted that you have caused the most serious injuries to your daughter in law. 'You set about her having taken umbrage because you felt she was having affairs when it turned out she had been receiving prank calls. 'You set out with great hostility and vengeance - you punched her, forced to the ground and kicked her and took knives to her face and wrist to gouge her eyes. 'She has since lost a lot of sight in both eyes and there is major scarring to her face. 'She has a stutter as well, most likely caused by the loss of confidence and lack of sleep and general work. 'So distressing was that her children, your grandchildren, witnessed it from start to finish and pleaded with you to stop but you did not stop.' Father-of-four Mirgind stared at the floor as he was jailed for ten years and eight months at Snaresbrook Crown Court. Crown lawyer Jonathan Turner said Mrs Mirgind's children had suffered, having begged the defendant to stop and they saw the blood everywhere. 'Their life has changed and they cannot sleep alone while the marriage of their parents has disintegrated.' Mrs Mirgind has since moved to Nottingham with her two children. The court heard the defendant Mirgind had been an leading member of the Sikh community and often drove young worshippers to the temple. In a statement read by his lawyer Edward Boateng-Addo, he said: 'I am a hard-working family man who left his job to care for his ill mother seven years ago. 'I was stressed out at the time and nothing can excuse what I did. 'I was trying to protect her - I am a peaceful and honest man and I know I will not have the chance to apologise but I do look to the court to say how sorry I am. He had initially been charged with attempted murder but prosecutors later accepted a plea of causing grievous bodily harm with intent in order to avoid having to go to trial. Mirgind, of Mayfair Avenue, Ilford, admitted causing grievous bodily harm with intent. A single count of attempted murder has been left to lie on the court file. The reports claimed that Toyin does not respect her husband at all she calls him names etc. It was also revealed that sometimes back Toyin called her husband all sorts of horrible names just because he brought in a visitor to their home while she was in company of her friends smoking marijuana in their matrimonial home. As if the rumor was not enough, another report claimed that the actress and her hubby were having financial problems -  that is why they relocated to Ajah a few weeks back cos they couldn't afford their Lekki apartment anymore.
