Butt Implant Gone Wrong - Kate Henshaw Warns About Cosmetic Surgery

Posted: 02 Jun 2014 09:09 AM PDT

Actress and fitness enthusiast, Kate Henshaw shared the above picture of a butt implant gone wrong on Instagram with the caption; "BUTT IMPLANTS GONE WRONG: Ladies please be happy with the body you have but if you are not, DO something about it!.... Exercise! ...Get fit!!! There is NO SHORT CUT!!"

I think this is the worst I've see, *shivers*

Truly, exercise may be the best option. According to Kim Kardashian and others who have grown their butts dramatically, it can be achieved using squats and another exercise routine, known as donkey butt. Me, I'm not sure how to describe, but Google is always your friend, lol...

Entertainment Reporting is Boring Because Media People Want to Be Celebrities - Joy Bewaji

Posted: 02 Jun 2014 07:08 AM PDT

The reason entertainment journalism is super boring in Nigeria is because the practitioners are hustling to be celebrities themselves; and sadly, they are friends with the real celebrities- partying, taking duck face selfies, air-kissing on twitter, shopping and getting styled from the same stock.

You are never going to get any intelligent unbiased reporting from that crew. They will fluff over every matter with no depth because they need to keep their hustle fresh and endearing- they need to stay friends with celebrities (musicians, actors, comedians etc).

Toolz, for instance, has no opinion on anything. Not one! I think the reason I listen to her (during that10 minutes drive to my children's school and back) is because I find her voice soothing. I don't listen to what she has to say. She has nothing to say that could possibly interest me; all these celebrities are her friends. And it seems she's generally too nice to have a 4-hour show with no strong opinions of her own.

It's exhausting to say the least. And it makes me truly sad- these platforms that can be used for significant, persuasive and influential ideals are left barren and ailing like a sick child suffering from kwashiorkor…saccharine judgments and empty banter buttered with accents that bounced from Australia to Dubai and then to Europe with a loud thud.

I am tired. And I am bored.

Fade is on BeatFM now trying hard to have an opinion about Tiwa Savage's Wanted video. I really don't care if you are for or against it, but in the name of everyone that can pronounce "bourgeois", state your reasons intelligently like a sound professional- objective and seasoned with depth.

What has Fade got to tell me about Tiwa? They are friends for Chrissake!

We need to grow a dispassionate media team with a love for the profession and not people hungry for a piece of red-carpet fame. Every industry has to blossom; entertainment media has not matured because its practitioners go to bed hoping to win as many celebrity friends as their studios can take.

And those who try to criticize, they come on air with their terribly flawed pronunciations and enunciations, you begin to cry.

When they write, they speak all their big big grammar and then head to twitter to start playing like cool kids with these celebrities. How are you going to maintain a respectable career as an entertainment journalist if all you care about is a RT from Davido, a free pass from P-square or a shout out from Ice Prince?

I just want to read ONE brilliant entertainment piece and find it deliciously wicked, frank, illuminating and free of all the ass-licking.

I am tired jor!

My Husband is Not My Soul Mate by Mary Graham - Do You Agree?

Posted: 02 Jun 2014 04:02 AM PDT

Mary Graham is a teacher and blogs about the thoughts on soul mates that a couple of lines from one of her 7th graders assignment sparked off in her head. She feels that a lot of young women are misled by the ideals of The One, Prince Charming, Soul Mates and similar romantic tropes. In a discussion I was having, someone also echoed the same sentiment, saying Mills & Boons should be banned. I'm not sure I agree with that, but Mary Graham makes a lot of sense. Read below and let's discuss. You can also vote by the right.

The first thing I wanted to do was run home and tell my children–my daughters–that soul mates aren't real. That this isn't something to dream about, something to wish and hope for. Because it will let you down and make all your real, healthy, and sometimes-disappointing relationships feel less than.

The only thing stopping me from this conversation is that my daughters are three and five. They think they're going to grow up and marry their daddy. They're not sure if they'll be the husband or the wife though because those are confusing words to remember. In our house gender roles are the exact opposite of societal norms. I don't want them to know how our house works isn't "normal." I don't want them to think one way is normal, I want them to figure out what works best for their world when they finally get to make their own.

But I don't want them to long for, look for, or hold out hope for their soul mate. Because they will always be let down. Chris Graham is not my soul mate. He is my husband, my best friend, my lover, my favorite person to talk to, my biggest cheerleader, and my family.

But he does not complete me, fill me up, or make my world.

He challenges me, encourages me, and talks me down off cliffs, but he isn't the end-all-be-all of my world. That is a dangerous thing to ask of a relationship because I'm in love with and married to a flawed man. And he married a really flawed Mary. The idea that I can complete the hole he has in his heart, this want for something to fill him up, is wrong and destined to be painful. Because that hole isn't of this world. That want and need we have for someone to know us, really know us, will never be satisfied while we're here on earth.
And I think that idea, that lie we've been sold, damages so many relationships, ends marriages, and leaves countless people unhappy when they'll truly never be happy.

I love my husband. I think he's pretty awesome or I wouldn't have married him and had some babies with him. He makes my life more interesting, makes me better, and loves me even when I'm not very lovable (which is a lot of the time). I picked a good one, for sure. And I'm glad he's in my life.

But if I hadn't met him, I think my life would still be pretty good. I wasn't waiting for someone else to come along and rescue me from my horrible existence. I had a good existence before him. I was loved and cared for and fought for by a Father that made me whole in a way no one else could.

Soon I'm going to let my daughters in on the "soul mate" secret. That it's made up and dangerous and unrealistic. That their God loves them more than any man ever could and that no one will ever come along and complete them the way they long to be completed. Their longing isn't of this world. But that isn't to say I don't want them to find amazing husbands one day. It's something I pray about often, asking God to be molding those young men–wherever they are–to be good mates for my girls, to be strong men of God, to have character above everything else. But that they don't look to complete a girl's life, either. That they're pretty good on their own and then they meet one of my amazing daughters and they'll want to do life together. And serve God together. Because He's their soul mate. He's their whole.

Chibok Girls Ill and Spread in Several Countries - Boko Haram Hostage Negotiator Reveals

Posted: 02 Jun 2014 03:01 AM PDT

There were reports earlier that some of the abducted Chibok school girls had died from snake bites and worse. Now with negotiations on-going, some are said to be very ill, while most are spread across Niger, Cameroon and Chad. This is according to Australian cleric Stephen Davis, who was hired by President Goodluck Jonathan to serve as a hostage negotiator to bring back the girls. Davis has also ruled out the possibility of the girls being released in one rescue operation.

Punch reports.

The Perth-born Australian described how fraught the negotiation process had been but expressed optimism that the girls would be freed.

He said, 'One of that small group of girls is ill and we had hoped we might convince the commander of the group holding her that she should be released so we could give her medical treatment.

'There are other girls who are not well and we have come close to having them released but their captors fear a trap in which they will be captured in the handover process.

'One girl has what I assume is a broken wrist as they demonstrate to me how she holds her hand. I have been told that others are sick and in need of medical attention.

"But I am encouraged by the progress. Every day there is the possibility of the release of the girls.

'This is painful for the parents and the nation. The well-being of the girls is constantly on our minds and we want to see their release as soon as possible."

The secret negotiator however ruled out the possibility of a rescue since the girls were not being held in one location.

He said, "There are several groups to deal with as the girls are held in several camps across the Nigerian border in Cameroon, Chad and Niger. This makes any thought of a rescue highly improbable. To attempt to rescue one group would only endanger the others. We must not endanger their lives any further.

"The vast majority of the Chibok girls are not being held in Nigeria.

"I say the 'vast majority'as I know a small group was confirmed to me to be in Nigeria last week when we sought to have them released."

Explaining   that he had been to military positions in the North-East in recent days, he said, 'the troops and their field commanders are doing all that can be done at this point."

After Reports of Alleged Cheating, Beyonce Out With Jay Z And Another Bodyguard

Posted: 02 Jun 2014 02:37 AM PDT

According to recent reports, Jay Z is jealous of Beyonce's close relationship with her constant bodyguard Julius and thinks she's having an affair with him. Julius is the most photographed bodyguard with Beyonce, and was the same one with the couple and Solange in the elevator attack video clip.

This isn't the first time, rumours have surfaced that Beyonce is really in an affair with Julius. In 2009, she was photographed leaving a hotel in Berlin with her mouth covered, while Julius' lips was allegedly smeared with red lipstick.

According to Star Magazine, and reported by Radar Online,

"Jay definitely thinks that there was and may still be something romantic going on between Bey and Julius. He wanted to fire Julius last February, but Beyonce said, 'Julius isn't going anywhere.'

Despite being subject to numerous cheating rumors himself, Jay is, nonetheless, "very jealous" of his wife's friendship with Julius — and friends believe he may have a reason to be.

They've spent a lot of time together behind closed doors," He's even stayed in her hotel room."

But are the suppositions by Star evidence enough of an affair? Or these latest pictures of Beyonce out with another bodyguard? Some are suggesting that either Julius has been sacked as Jay Z wanted, or the heat is getting to them. I hope this all works out.
