Gunmen kill 27, set houses on fire, with only 3 houses left standing in Gumboru Ngala, in Borno State.
No group has claimed responsibility, but the Islamist sect the Boko Haram is suspected.
As villagers cried out for security, police, army and other military personnel are currently absent in the village.

Peaceful OAU Protest Turns Into Disaster As Presidency Convoy Opens Fire On Protesting Students (Photo)

Hundreds of protesting students of the Obafemi Awolowo University have held a presidential convoy hostage in Ile-Ife, Osun State.
The convoy led by a Toyota bullet proof SUV with 'Presidency' inscription and registration number, FG902-B02, tried to drive through the students who were protesting an increase in fees by the university management.
Security details attached to the convoy then shot, perhaps to scare the protesters, with two of the students reportedly sustaining injuries.
"The security details shot at us. We have held them hostage. We will not let him go." one of the leaders of the protest told PREMIUM TIMES on phone.
The students were protesting, on the Ife Expressroad, the increase in their school fees by the university management when the 6-vehicle convoy arrived.
The university management increased the fees from about N17,000 to over N100,000.
"We demand a total reversal to statusquo," the student leader said.
It is not yet clear who the occupants of the presidential convoy are as some students said the main occupant is a relative to President Goodluck Jonathan.

Meanwhile..The Nation reports that Families able to provide proof were allowed to take away bodies of their loved ones from the mortuaries in Jos. Most of those burnt beyond recognition will be given mass burial.

Emmanuel Okafor and his two sisters were overwhelmed by grief at the Plateau Specialists Hospital on seeing the remains of their mother.

"It is over; we are finished. See my mother. God? Why? Why? why God?". Okafor said, weeping.

Chiendu Mazi, 40, who found his wife's body at the morgue fainted. He was revived by nurses and doctors. He said:

"I gave my wife money to go and buy food items. I never knew I was sending her to die."

Muslim Cleric ,Dr. Ahmad Abubakar Mahmud Gumi shared these photos on his Facebook page..It shows civilians lined up in a secluded area,and later they are pictured on the floor and some being buried in a mass grave by security forces...It is not clear who they were or where they were brought from or when it happened..But he says they are innocent civilians..

Some of the comments said they were probably Boko Haram ,while others claim what ever the case, the killings are unjustifiable..

The minds of the young ones are corrupt and violence is the order of the day. Imagine how cruel the mind of a 4th grader how could poison his teacher's water with rat poison, when such human grows in that light, they can clear a whole country and not be moved.
Two New York City fourth-graders, ages 9 and 12 have been arrested for allegedly poisoning their teacher's water bottle, causing her to feel nauseated the next day.

Though now in good condition after being treated at the hospital, the poison in the water is being tested in a lab to determine its content, but it appears to be a rat poison, police have said.

Both young boys have been charged with attempted second-degree assault, reckless endangerment and criminal possession of a weapon.

Soyinka Says He Has Never Referred To Patience Jonathan As "Illiterate"
After the video where the first lady was weeping over the missing Chibok girls, a statement attributed to Wole Soyinka read

When you marry an illiterate woman as a wife, you will definitely make stupid decisions like jonathan'

In a new release by him, he says he never said anything like that ...

"While I have on occasion found myself compelled to publicly chastise Mrs. Jonathan over unacceptable conduct, I have NEVER referred to her as "illiterate" nor linked President Jonathan's governance with his wife's educational attributes or lack thereof.I therefore repudiate this statement that could only have stemmed from some ignorant clod, who is additionally devoid of the moral courage of his or her own untenable convictions.

To attribute to me the slightest interest in the choice of a spouse by man or woman is a complete travesty of my near obsessive belief in the sanctity of private relationships. I intend to take whatever legal steps are available once we have succeeded in tracing the source of this execrable material.Let me take this opportunity to announce yet again that I do not tweet, blog or whatever goes on in this increasingly promiscuous medium."

7 Unijos medical Students, 15 Others Die In Blast

7 students of the Medical Laboratory Science Department of the University of Jos were among the dead victims of Tuesday's twin bomb blasts at the Terminal Market in Jos, Plateau State.
They were said to be final year students of the department. Three of them were said to be members of the Redeemed Christian Fellowship.
The students were going to their hostels after receiving lectures at the old campus of the university when they met their death.

One of their friends, Miss Vivian Eke, disclosed this on Wednesday as the death toll in the blasts rose by 15.
Eke, who was at the mortuary of the state specialist hospital, Jos to identify the bodies, told Punch that the seven students were all friends.
She said, "We called them 'the clique' because they were always together. Their lectures had just ended at Gangere (old campus) and they were going to take a bus to their hostel before they were caught up in the blasts. They were final year students and   members of the RCF.
However,   Ismaila Suleiman, a 23-year- old Computer Science student of a private computer school in Jos was fortunate.
Recuperating Suleiman, who lives in the Dogon Karfe area of Jos, told The PUNCH that after   his   lectures, he went to the terminus to deliver a message.
"After school hours, I went to the terminus to deliver a message and as I was walking along the road, I heard   a deafening sound. I went blind   until I found myself at the hospital," he said.
Students of UNIJOS boycotted lectures on Wednesday to mourn their colleagues. When our correspondent visited the institution, it was like a graveyard.
Also most of the primary and secondary schools in the city were empty as parents and guardians kept their children and wards at home.
When contacted on the death of the seven students, the Assistant Registrar, Publications and Protocol, UNIJOS, Mr. Steve Otowo, said bodies of two of them had been identified.
He however declined to give the names of the deceased in order not to create panic among students and parents.
"All students, especially those in the Medical Laboratory Science Department, have been directed to come to the campus with their identity cards today for verification,"Otowo added.
He said he had been going round hospitals in the city looking for missing members of staff and students.
Otowo also said the institution was compiling a full list of victims from the university community.

"In 2005 Jim Iyke started heating on me when I refused his advances and reported him to my husband, Philips Ehiagwina, now Ini Edo's husband. Jim Iyke tried to talk me out of telling my husband and when I insisted he got upset and decided to set Emeka Ike up because Emeka Ike is the only person I confided in and when I was invited to Maryland to feature in a movie, alongside Keturah Hamilton, Emeka Ike was there and I always confided in him and asked questions. Emeka Ike and his wife Emma have been my friends for over 11 years now, I visited them when I visit Nigeria.

Jim Iyke made lofty promises to me trying to win my heart and he never expected me to say no so when I did he tried to convince me telling me that the man I claim to love so much and brought to the United States has been cheating on me with everything in skirts. (Philips Ehiagwina) an Edo man I met in Nigeria in 1998 and sacrificed all to ensure he has a good life.Jim Iyke told me all that my husband was and is still doing to me in my absence, even got Ini Edo the actress pregnant.

At the moment, I have confirmed all Jim Iyke told me about my husband. One of my husband's mistresses Nkiru who lives in Houston, Texas set him up after she found out that my husband betrayed his wife (me) and lied to me. She decided to set him up with an audio coverage and got every prove, he confessed about playing me for a green card on tape.
At d moment he has a case with the United States Immigration and the FBI is also on this case. It is a very long story. I have decided to speak to the press and bring the truth to the table at this moment.

It's very unfair that Jim Iyke who knows the truth but afraid to face it could be so callous to accuse an innocent person like Emeka Ike who has been nothing but a big brother to me since I've known him.

I was very upset about it and and fought for the truth. My husband met me as a virgin and took my virginity on a night of our honeymoon. for him to paint a bad picture of me simply because I reported his green card fraud to d FBI since he has refused to confide in me is something I never saw coming but I will fight to d end.

Jim Iyke has tried dating several girls just to obtain a green card, one of d girls he dated confessed that he tried to get her pregnant and when she said no Jim Iyke decided to spend her money with promises of everlasting love and then left her for another person. Now he is dating a Jamaican girl ( Keturah Hamilton) who just got her green card few months ago after marrying for a green card. She is also a male magazine model who strips naked for male magazines.

Those supporting Jim Iyke right now should know he destroyed my marriage. Jim Iyke is evil, very vicious. It was a good thing that he got exposed. Keturah Hamilton is a loser. She has no means of livelihood. She strips for clubs and that is. Good riddance to bad rubbish. Jim Iyke framed Emeka Ike and me up. Keturah Hamilton was there. 15 year old girl Deborah Peter from Chibok survived the Boko Haram slaughter of her family in 2011 after witnessing her dad and brother killed and asked to lie between their corpses .She told her story to U.S. House lawmakers,

House Foreign Affairs Committee on Wednesday

"My name is Deborah Peter and I am the sole survivor of a Boko Haram attack on my household. On December 22, 2011 at 7 pm, my brother and I were at home when we started hearing some guns shooting. My brother called my dad and told him not to come home because some people were shooting guns. But my dad said he should not worry because it was not the first time he had come home when people were fighting. When my dad came home, he said that he was going to take a shower because he was hot. At 7:30 pm, three men knocked on the door. My brother answered the door because he recognized one of the men as a Muslim in our community.

The men asked where my dad was and I told them that he was in the shower. The men waited. After three minutes, they went into the bathroom and dragged my dad into the main room. They said that my dad was wasting their time and that they did not have time to wait on him. The men told my dad that he should deny his Christian faith. My dad told them that he would not deny his faith. They said that if he did not deny his faith they were going to kill him. My dad refused, saying that Jesus said whoever acknowledges Him in front of man, He will acknowledge in front of God; and whoever denies Him in front of man, He will deny in front of God in heaven.

My dad said that he would rather die than go to hell fire. After he told the men that, the men shot him three times in his chest. My brother was in shock. He started demanding, "What did my dad do to you? Why did you shoot him?" The men told him to be quiet or else they were going to shoot him too. Then, the men discussed whether they should kill my brother. One of the Boko Harams said they should kill Caleb, my brother. The second man said that he was just a boy and that he was too young to kill. But the third man said that they should make an exception in this case because Caleb will only grow up to be a Christian pastor. Caleb asked me to plead with them for his life but they told me to shut up or they would kill me too. The leader agreed that they should kill him and shot my brother two times. My dad had still been breathing but when he saw them shoot Caleb, he died. My brother fell down but was still alive and gasping. The men shot him in his mouth. Then, my brother stopped moving and died. I was in shock. I did not know what was happening. The men put me in the middle of my dad and brother's corpses, told me to be quiet or be killed, and left me there. I stayed there until the next day when the army came. They removed my dad and brother's bodies to the mortuary and took me to the hospital.

I was traumatized. A nearby pastor paid for me to get out of town when he discovered that Boko Haram said they made a mistake by not also killing me. Boko Haram decided later that they should have killed me because I am the daughter of an apostate Muslim mother who converted to Christianity. So the pastor paid for me to get out of that region. I fled and Jubilee Campaign helped me come to a 9/11 child survivors of terrorism camp in America.
My family was targeted by Boko Haram because we are Christians. My dad was a pastor. We had to move from place to place because Boko Haram always attacked my father and told him that they would kill him. In November, they burned his church and threatened him. My dad refused to deny his faith and rebuilt his church. That is why they killed him—because he is a Christian.
I decided to tell the world my story when the Chibok girls were taken because everyone needs to know how horrible Boko Haram is. They kill innocent people who never hurt them. I want the world to understand what happened to me. I hope that the kidnapped Chibok girls will take courage from my story, and know more of what God says, and know what it means to stand strong in the face of bad people. I hope that they will be free and be able to go to school and worship freely. I hope that like me, some of them can come and continue their education in America. "

According to Punch,residents of Ojo Road, where the purported transformation took place,said the woman was a black bird before suddenly turning into a human being.Hundreds of residents were said to have gathered around the woman to lynch her.

An eyewitness, Chike, said he was sitting in front of a compound with his girlfriend when they saw three black birds flying.He said it seemed as if the birds were involved in a fight and as he was watching, suddenly, one of the birds fell into a moving van belonging to the Eko Electricity Distribution Company while the other two flew away.

He said,

"The bird suddenly turned to an old woman of about 80. People were shocked as they saw the woman rolling on the road and blood gushing out from her forehead.When the crowd was interrogating her, she said she was a witch and that she came from Ibadan for a meeting in Lagos but as they were returning home they missed their way and wasted so much time hovering in the area till daybreak. The woman claimed she fell because she was tired of flying."

It was learnt that as the woman was about to be lynched, the traditional ruler of Layeni Community, Baale Rafiu Olayeni, arrived the scene and pleaded with the angry people not to take laws into their hands.

The traditional leader said,

"People told me the woman fell down as a bird but I did not believe them. I had to rescue the old woman before the mob lynches her as they claimed she was a witch. Sometimes the reasoning of old people could be compared to that of a small child because of the effects of old age."

At the station, however, the police found it difficult to control the mammoth crowd that had come to see the alleged witch.It was learnt that the DPO had to call for reinforcement from Ajegunle and Amukoko divisions before he could handle the crowd as some people were bent on lynching the woman.

The policemen were said to have fired tear gas at the crowd and dispersed them from the station
