Posted: 27 May 2014 05:50 PM PDT "America's Got Talent," NBC's top-rated summer series returns this summer with the hottest performers from across the country ready to compete in the blockbuster reality show's ninth season. Howard Stern, Heidi Klum, Mel B and Howie Mandel return as judges and Nick Cannon returns as host. The series is a true celebration of the American spirit, featuring a colorful array of singers, dancers, comedians, contortionists, impressionists, jugglers, magicians, ventriloquists and hopeful stars, all vying for their chance to win America's hearts and the $1 million prize. Last season, Kenichi Ebina was voted the winner at the conclusion of an exciting live finale packed with special live performances. Kenichi Ebina is a self-taught dancer who infuses illusion, mime and special effects of sound, light and video into each dance performance. I absolutely loved Kenichi and was overjoyed when he won. As the new season begins, who else is watching? |
Photo of Kate Middleton With Lifted Skirt is Another Breach of Privacy Posted: 27 May 2014 04:24 PM PDT A German gossip magazine has published a photo of Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge as a gust of wind lifted her dress and showed her bare backside. This was during her trip to Australia with husband Prince William and son Prince George. British papers have refrained from publishing the picture which compares Kate with the Kardashian sisters. Bild published the picture with the caption, 'Khloe, Kim and Kate – backsides which have moved us these past few days.' While Kim and Khloe are shown fully clothed, the photo of the Duchess is of her walking with Prince William near a helicopter when wind from the propellers lifted her dress. Too bad there was a photographer taking a picture then. But one is tempted to ask, but why did he feel he needed to sell such a picture to the highest bidder. This incident is coming less than two years after the Prince and Duchess launched legal action against a French magazine, Closer, which had printed topless photographs of Kate on holiday. In 2012, Prince William and Kate famously won an injunction against the French magazine. RML is in solidarity with the William and Kate and know they'll get through this just as graciously as the last time, and keep winning too. Below are official photos from the day of their Australian tour.
What Do You Think of Professional Make-Up That Changes Your Looks Completely? Posted: 27 May 2014 11:06 AM PDT Have you ever gotten a professional full face makeup? Can you apply makeup like a professional? What do you think about full face make up with foundation, highlights, false eyelashes, concealers, and the whole shebang. Does it make you feel good, and what about when you have to take it off? When you meet someone for the first time with such make up on, do you feel they won't recognize you without it? How do the husbands feel? Is it unfair to the guys? Only questions eh? Yeah, some of these makeup sorcery pictures will sure put one in a philosophical frame of mind. Via Bossip
Toyin Aimakhu Says She is Not Pregnant, Can The Rumors Stop Now? Posted: 27 May 2014 10:06 AM PDT Toyin Aimakhu says she is not pregnant. The Yoruba Nollywood actress got married to Niyi Johnson in July 2013 and since then speculations have been rife about her pregnancy status. Over the weekend, several media reports insisted she was finally pregnant based on pictures of the actress that emerged from the Africa Fashion Week Nigeria, an event she attended two weeks ago BN reached out to Toyin to confirm if she indeed expecting, but she explained that she was not expecting but the design of the dress that suggested otherwise. Dressed in a figure hugging green sequined dress, Toyin Aimaku's posture and the cut of her dress must indeed have confused these reporters who wanted to rejoice with her by all means. Our advice however to such people is to have patience with newly married couples and women, and allow them to announce their own pregnancies when they are ready. You may not know what the couple is going through and they may have indeed planned to wait some years to start a family based on their life goals and finances. Even if this is not the case, couples owe no one else, but those they chose, any explanations or apologies on when to start popping out little ones after marriage. Where the couple is trying without immediate success, or experiencing infertility, speculations of pregnancy will not hasten pregnancy, rather it may hurt them more than you can imagine. Keep your rumors and 'dry-hating' (thank you, Linda) well wishes to yourself, please. Wishing Toyin all the best! Her babies are on the way :)

Husband Says He's Father of Quadruplets, But Wife Did IVF With Infertile Lover Posted: 27 May 2014 09:24 AM PDT A mild drama occurred last Thursday at the old site of the Abia State University Teaching Hospital (ABSUTH), Aba, as two men claimed paternity of a set of quadruplets, all boys. One was the husband of the woman who delivered the babies while the other was her current lover. The two claimants, Luke Ogbonna and Hon. Enyioko, a politician, were said to have had an intimate affairs with Mrs. Nnenna Joy Ogbonna, mother of the quadruplet, at different times. Sunday Sun gathered that Luke Ogbonna who hails from Isu in Ebonyi State was the legitimate husband of Mrs. Nnenna and that their ten year old marriage had been blessed with five children. But due to the dwindling financial fortune of Luke and the attendant hardship faced by his family, the wife reportedly began to look elsewhere to make ends meet. In the process, she allegedly found a new love in Hon. Enyioko, a politician from Asa in Ukwa West Local Government. To forestall her husband's suspicion, Nnenna was said to have introduced the politician as her late father's friend and her mother, Madam Mary Jonah Eze, who was staying with them attested to it. At a point, Luke became suspicious of the relationship and warned the politician to steer clear of his wife, but the warning fell on deaf ears. When he released that things were getting out of hand, he later sought the intervention of his wife's friends to save their marriage from the threat of an interloper, still, the effort was to no avail. Not too long after, Mrs. Ogbonna became pregnant and the result of the scan test carried out on her indicated that she was carrying a quadruplet. In an attempt to avert the looming trouble ahead, one of her friends was said to have advised her to register for ante natal at a government hospital where she would be protected in case of any trouble and she gladly complied. Some weeks to the delivery time, our source equally hinted, Mrs. Ogbonna reportedly went to ABSUTH and registered with the name of her new lover instead of her husband's. Nurses on duty at Ward 4 where she was admitted and who had known her earlier five children raised some eyebrow over the new name but she insisted on having it. Just as Luke who was unsuspecting of her motive always paid her regular, visits, so also was Hon. Enyioko who often brought various gifts. But a little while to delivery time, she told her husband to stop visiting her at the hospital because of a concocted spiritual attack she said she used to have each time Luke visited her. However, the real drama unfolded on Thursday when doctors delivered the woman of a set of quadruplets. Luke stormed the hospital with many of his relations to inform ABSUTH authorities that he was the bona fide father of the new born babies and that nothing should happen to them. Sunday Sun gathered that hours after Luke had left, Hon. Enyioko, whose two marriages were said to have allegedly crashed as a result childlessness, also came with his own group of people claiming paternity of the babies. Enyioko was said to have told the bewildered workers of the teaching hospital that he had spent millions of naira to do an in-vitro fertilization that made the woman to be pregnant and that he was the one that arraigned for the set of quadruplets. Sunday Sun gathered that the teaching hospital management had put the babies out of the prying eyes of the two 'fathers' for safety reasons until they were discharged from the hospital. When contacted, the Assistant Director of information, ABSUTH, Joe Onwuka, confirmed the incident. He said the management of the health facility was not interested in the politics of the paternity of the quadruplets, but how to safeguard them and their mother within the period they were at the teaching hospital. ____ Story via Sunnews Online Picture of Rwandan quadruplets via Pih.org
Many Find the Bride Price Calculator Funny, But There is a Petition to Remove It? Posted: 27 May 2014 04:29 AM PDT I confess, I was not upset at all by the Bride Price website [read here], but found it funny. I didn't over think it, probably because I've been really saddened by the high spate of violence in Nigeria and needed something to make me laugh. I did the price check with Atala who pointed out how it could be problematic. We talked about bride price, he was not there when mine was agreed and paid, and does not know exactly how much it was. I know for a fact the token amount is about N500, though of course there is some traditional haggling to add some umunna and parentals reward to the package. I have my issues with the traditional marriage rites in Nigeria and the financial burden on young couples, but I can say categorically that the bride price is the least of it. In most ethnicities, the "bride price" on its own is less than 5% of the total cost of a traditional marriage. The bulk of the spending comes from settling greedy parents and kindred and throwing a big party for the village which the couple are pressured to do either by their perception of their own status in the society, or by the families. Is there any real clue of how much bride price is? ThisDay reports that the Agbarho Customary Court, sitting in Delta State, ordered the family of the Mrs Ekpiwhre (a former Nigerian Minister of Science and Technology) to refund to the court's registry the sum of N120 paid as customary bride price by her husband Mr Ekpiwhre when their marriage was contracted 1985. Back to the bride price app, from the very first page and disclaimer, you get the sense it was all humorous. From checking for friends and enemies, to the disclaimer, to the consulting elders, to the premium babes, cord lace, NAFDAC numbers, wars in Africa and chewing gum boys, everything said it was a joke! Even the exorbitant amounts were a joke, I want a married person who can come and tell me their bride price - bride price o, not list - was up to a million naira. Anyway, after doing a literal check, I actually went back and selected all the worst variables and strangely enough, the resulting score doubled. That was when I decided to blog about the fun aspects of the app. But not everyone is finding it funny. In fact, there is a petition to the makers of the app to take it down. Take down the app that promotes objectification and misogyny towards women So would you sign the app? Do you find the app denigrating or funny? Here are some screenshots via Spicebaby [who also find the app insulting] of the various indicators and monetary values ascribed by the app;
How To Recognize a Potential Suicide Bomber - Nigerian Police Posted: 27 May 2014 03:05 AM PDT Police Force PRO, Frank Mba has stated easy ways Nigerians can identify a suicide bomber if they spot one. He described the way they move, their reactions, how they try to avoid eye contacts with people around and lots more. Below is an excerpt fgrom part one of the blog; Characteristics of a potential suicide bomber There is no specific profile for anyone who engages himself in suicide bombing. A suicide bomber can come from nearly every cultural background, religion, race, creed or gender. However, the following are common characteristics of a potential suicide bomber. Through his behaviour He behaves in a way similar to someone with no future. His mental state could present clues – his eyes are secretive, he makes obvious attempt to avoid eye contact with the people he perceived to be his enemies and always looking at every possible exit. Mumbling prayers – may be fervently praying to himself, showing the impression of whispering to someone else. He shows no response to any authoritative voice, command or instruction. Read - How to Avoid Domestic Violence by Frank Mba Through his appearance He wears clothes that are unsuitable for the present-day weather. For instance, wearing of sweater or rain-coat during hot weather. He wears slack or puffy clothes. This gives the impression that his body is excessively larger than his head or feet. Sweating – resulting from tension and stress or wearing of unsuitable clothes. For instance, wearing a heavy coat during high weather temperature. He appears to be focused and more vigilant on his target. He will usually have his hands placed in the pocket, around the button of the detonator and ready to set off the bomb at the slightest opportunity. He carries big bags or backpacks tightly with wires piercing out of the bag. He may most likely have a clean shave or low hair-cut especially when he is ready to carry out the task. This may be done to disguise his real appearance. He displays signs of drug use. For instance, his pupils become enlarged with fixed staring. His breathings are heavy and rapid. Mostly male who falls between the age range of 16 to 30 years of age. He looks aggressive, restless, irritable and nervous. Through his movement He walks awkwardly or clumsily in an unusual and odd manner. This is usually due to the unsuitable attire he is wearing and sometimes due to the weight of the explosive devices tied around his body. He tries to be evasive in movement. This unusual gait is adopted to evade security agents and some other persons who may foil his plans. Often times, he may not know the route to his target destination very well, hence he may occasionally ask for directions. One of the suicide bombers that struck at a church in Kaduna in late 2013 had to ask commercial motorcyclists for direction to the church he eventually struck. Through his kind of person/other features He tries to blend into a group which he clearly does not belong to. For instance, he tries to attend Church worship services even as a non-Christian with clear intention to carry out surveillance and identify vulnerable areas before attack. He demonstrates forceful actions in order to reach his desired target by pushing the crowd so as to find his way into a restricted area or showing desperations to reach a crowded point or particular target. He will usually have an unusual herbal smell. This is as a result of incense used in the final rituals performed on him as he takes off for the suicide mission.
