[PHOTOS] Posted: 12 Mar 2014 07:59 AM PDT  According to Ecomium magazine, Pastor Kumuyi's N4 billion 30,000 seater ultra modern auditorium would be one of the grandest church in Africa when completed. The magazine confirmed that the auditorium is built like a stadium and sits on an underground structure which contains a car park which would take 160 cars. It would seat more than 30,000 worshippers at a go. It is a mini-stadium and is costing the church over N4 billion.  An Italian firm, Cappa & D'Alberto won the contract for the construction the online magazine reports. They want a re-match. The match which was also to raise funds for the Ghana Actors Guild (GAG), saw the Ghanaian stars trashing the Nigerians in a 3-1 victory. According to the Nigerians, the match was impromptu and their Ghanaian counterparts also enjoyed the advantage of home support. They have therefore called for a return match to be played in Nigeria on October 1, which is Nigeria's Independence Day. A whinning Nollywood superstar Hanks Anku turned goalkeeper for the Nigerian team said he conceded goals because he did not get enough time to train. | Posted: 12 Mar 2014 07:14 AM PDT  In what is seen as a reprisal attack, fresh allegations are flying over mounting profligacy by another female minister in the cabinet of President Goodluck Jonathan. One of the remaining two super-female ministers is being alleged to be wasting billions from public purse to maintain a private aircraft. A group, Concerned Aviation Professionals (CAP) in a petition to President Goodluck Jonathan against the minister whom they described as celebrated but most controversial in the history of Nigeria said she have committed up to N3.120 billion in maintaining the jet devoted to family businesses alone. Although CAP fell short of mentioning names, researches by Economic Confidential suggest that the group could be referring to Mrs. Dieziani Alison-Madueke. CAP requested Jonathan to immediately launch a probe into the ownership, maintenance and usage of the Challenger 850 Jet marked OE-ILA which was domiciled at one of the private hangers in a Nigerian airport in the last two years. About 15 months ago, there were similar reports in the media linking a minister to a private jet impounded by the French government carrying a business associate of top public officers on suspicions that the jet-a Bombardier Global Express XRS- belongs to the public officer. The jet was discovered to have been purchased by the Bank of Utah Trustee in June 2012 through the same process that was also used in purchasing private jets for the governors of Rivers and Akwa Ibom States. The petition signed by Abdul Malik Masaya and John Obande Anihiru, a copy of which was made available to the Economic Confidential said CAP has "impeachable records which confirms that the super minister has been frittering away scarce Nigerian resources in maintaining the Challengers 850 Aircraft at one of the private Hangars in the Nigerian Airports in the last two years. "The incontrovertible evidence we have is that the Minister has been committing 500,000 Euros (N130 million) monthly to maintaining the aircraft in the lsast to years. Thus, in two years, the Minister has committed the sum of N3.120 billion to keeping the jet which is used for personal use and that of the Minister's family alone", and thus demanded "a thorough probe of this allegation should start from the FAAN, NCAA and NAMA. The agencies have records of all the trips the Challenger 850 jet made on the payroll of one of the nation's top revenue earning agencies." The group said it "cannot comprehend the sense in keeping a plane solely for the use of a Minister, especially when the plane is not part of the Presidential fleet. We also know that Mr. President will promptly and readily oblige the Minister the use of any of the Presidential jets if it becomes imperative for the minister to embark on official trips on behalf of the government. Details at our possession include the series of flights the Minister had engaged in with the said plane in the last two years. The details include the different locations, time and date of the flights as well as the dates the plane returned to Nigeria at each instance. In fact we can confirm to you that the plane has been in use since July 2012." According to Economic Confidential independent findings however, this latest sleaze exposure might be a retaliatory action by a recently fallen super Amazon minister who was also caught in the act of monumental corruption perpetrated in some parastatals of the Ministry. Loyalists of the sacked minister claimed it was a jealous colleague within the administration that leaked the matter to the press. There have been various speculations that in a bid to eliminate their rivals, some members of the cabinet engage in activities that will discredit such individuals by leaking confidential and sensitive documents to the public. It would be recalled that Princess Stell Oduah was also accused of monumental corruption and wasteful spending following revelations that she forced parastatals under her supervision to procure armoured cars for her use to the tune of N255 million. There were speculations that she was not the only minister who had acquired armoured official cars in her fleet. In the current allegation, the petitioners claimed that they have details of the series of flights the minister had engaged in with the said plane in the last two years. The details in their possession also include the different locations, time and date of the flights as well as dates the plane returned to Nigeria at each instance. They confirmed that the plane has been in used since July 2012 and that the waste has continued to gallop even in the wake of dwindling national budget. In conclusion the petitioners admitted that "last year, there was outcry over the purchase of two bullet proof cars at N255m by the former Minister of Aviation Stella Oduah. Right now, the Minister is no longer in the cabinet and the Aviation sector has been reorganised. Incidentally, the bulletproof cars are available for public use. The trailer for a new film, which was directed by Niyi Akinmolayan has already been released. | SAD NEWS! 8-year-old Girl Commits Suicide in Enugu, Nsukka! [GRAPHIC PHOTOS] Posted: 12 Mar 2014 06:06 AM PDT  Residents of Ofulonu in Nsukka, Enugu State have been gripped with shock following the mysterious death of an 8-year-old girl identified as Chiemerie Asadu. We gathered that the girl reportedly committed suicide Monday afternoon. Sympathizers who trooped to the scene in their numbers stood speechless as nobody could adduce reason behind the alleged suicide, considering the age of the deceased. A resident, who expressed utter shock over the incident told us that she saw the girl full of life in the morning. "I am terribly surprised because I saw that girl playing with other children when I was going to the market in the morning. "I wonder what will make a girl of eight to commit suicide. Another thing that surprises me is that the two legs of the victim are on the ground, which is not normal when one commits suicide, the legs should be hanging up. "I urge the police and relevant security agencies to investigate that suicide, even the rope on the neck of the victim is not strong enough to kill her. "If you look at that rope, you will understand what I am saying. So, I think there is a cover-up here; the police investigation will unravel the real circumstance behind the death", she said. Meanwhile, Mr David Ajibo said the victim, daughter of his brother in-law, was living with him. According to him, "This girl has been staying with us since her father died. I am shocked; I don't know what to say; only God knows what happened. "She was hale and hearty when I left the house in the morning and I wonder what will make a small girl of eight to commit suicide". When contracted, the spokesman of the Enugu State Police Command, Ebere Amaraizu, who confirmed the incident to DailyPost said "the police have commenced investigations into the sudden and unnatural death that occurred on 10/03/14 at about 3.20pm at Ofulonu Nsukka, where a little girl of about eight years hanged herself dead in the bathroom. "Corpse of the deceased is now deposited at Bishop Shanahan Mortuary at Nsukka just as investigations are intensified to unravel the circumstances surrounding the incident". The police at Sabo station on Tuesday arraigned a 49-year old 'Pastor', Moyo Martins at Yaba Chief Magistrate's Court for allegedly cutting off the fingers of a 2-year old girl, Sadiat Faleye. Last week Thursday, Sadiat's mother left her in the company of the man to quickly go and have her bath. But after about 5mins neighbours alerted her that they heard a loud cry of pain from her daughter and she quickly rushed out in panic. On getting to the man's room she found two of her daughter's little fingers lying on the floor including the ring on one of the fingers. The girl was quickly rushed to a private hospital for medical attention so she could stop losing blood. Mr Moyo denied ever knowing anything about her chopped off fingers, but when the police came for him, he confessed he sawed off the fingers in his room. | Wickedness! 14year old Schoolgirl R*ped 4 times& Abandoned by an Unknown Man in Agege, (Photo) Posted: 12 Mar 2014 01:43 AM PDT  p.m. news learnt that the OPC members saw the secondary schoolgirl on Sunday, 9 March in a traumatized state at a public toilet near NITEL Office, at Oko Oba, Agege And after giving her first aid treatment, the teenager was handed over to the police at the Agege Elere Police Divisional Headquarters, who referred her to Orile Agege General Hospital, Agege for a comprehensive medical treatment. The teenager, who will be 14 years by August, narrated that she came from Osun State and was on her wayto Badagry to stay with her aunty who had just given birth, but decided to stay the night at Agege, when it became late (around 9.p.m.) and she couldn't get a bus to her destination. The traumatised girl told the OPC members that when it became dark she decided to sleep in front of a shopping complex, near Elere Police Divisional Headquarters, till the next day. The victim said that shortly after she spread some cartons and was about to sleep, a man pushed her from behind and she fell on the floor. She narrated that the man used her belt to tie her neck and used a cloth to cover her face and started raping her. The victim said she screamed and shouted for help but there was no one to rescue her and the man r*ped her four times. She alleged that thereafter, a night guard, whom she described as huge and tall, and wore eyeglasses, came with a torch light and left with the rapist to an unknown destination. She alleged that the night guard left her with blood all over her body without making any attempt to help her. She alleged that the guard only came the next day to chase her across the road to the public toilet where she was later found by the OPC members and sympathizers. "It was at this spot that the OPC members and other sympathisers saw me. They started pouring water on my head because I had no strength. The man after r*ping me stole my handset and left with the guard. Before they left, they asked me how much I needed but I said I didn't need their money," the teenager said.The girl appealed to the Federal Government and the Lagos State government to come to her aid and ensure the culprits do not go unpunished. The DPO, CSP Eze Philip, of Elere Police Divisional Headquarters, has begun investigation on the matter, after instructing that the victim should be taken to the nearby hospital for quick medical attention to save her life. The girl is still receiving treatment, while her father has been contacted in Osun State. TOP STORIES |
