According to OsunDefender, Onitsha police arrested 11 people after they discovered 2 fresh human heads in a hotel (name withheld) very close to the popular Ose-Okwodu market in Anambra state on Thursday.
2 AK47 rifles and other weapons were also discovered in the hotel.

The arrest followed tip-offs from area residents on Thursday morning.

The hotel owner, 6 women and 4 men were arrested.

After police got access to the hotel, they made a startling discovery of two human heads wrapped in a cellophane bag, two AK47 rifles, two army caps, 40 rounds of live ammunition and so many cell phones.

"Each time I came to market, because the hotel is very close to the market, I always noticed funny movements in and out of the hotel; dirty people with dirty characters always come into the hotel.

So, I was not surprised when the police made this discovery in the early hours of yesterday," said a vegetable seller in the area.

A Pastor who was among the people who tipped off the police on Thursday said: "I went to the hotel early this year, after eating, I was told that a lump of meat was being sold at N700, I was surprised.

So I did not know it was human meat that I ate at such expensive price."

Actor Ibrahim Chatta’s Marriage to Former Governor’s Daughter Has Crashed!

ibrahim chatta and wife

We have just gathered that the marriage between Nollywood Actor, Ibrahim Chatta and his wife, Salamatu Lafiaji, the daughter of former Kwara State governor, Senator Shaaba Lafiaji, has crashed.

You will recall that Chatta and Salamotu got married in April 2013, shortly after his first marriage crashed due to allegation of wife battering which he emphatically denied.

Ibrahim had maintained that his ex-wife, Olayinka Solomon, never stayed at home, or bothered to take care of their child. This, he said, was what drove him into the arms of Salamat in the first place.

Disputing that he married Salamat for her wealth, Chatta had said "Truthfully, Salamat is a beautiful woman and she's from a well-to-do family, but if I intended to marry for money, I wouldn't have been available when she came along.

Some of my very good fans and friends can testify to the fact that I searched for well over two years for the right woman after the relationship between me and my baby mama turned sour, even on social media like Facebook. I am not a gold digger like some people wrote about me" he declared when the going was still smooth. However, the short-lived union has hit the rocks.

According to E24-7 magazine, the couple started having problems shortly after their marriage due to class differences.

"Salamotu, who comes from a wealthy home, was not too comfortable with the living conditions in Chatta's home, and this put a strain on the relationship until two weeks ago when she finally moved out of the house." The magazine reports.

When contacted, Ibrahim Chatta refused to deny or confirm the report, as he kept mum.

North Korea Supports Nigeria’s Anti-Gay Law!

Posted: 07 Feb 2014 04:55 AM PST

The Democratic People's Republic of North Korea (DPRK), on Thursday, declared its support for Nigeria for signing the anti-homos*xual bill into law in spite of opposition from western countries.

North Korea's Ambassador to Nigeria, Jong Yong Chol, expressed the country's position when he visited the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Dr Nurudeen Mohammed, in Abuja.

He said "President Goodluck Jonathan signed the anti-homosexual bill into law in January this year and the U.S. and the western countries strongly opposed it.

"They even threatened to impose sanctions on Nigeria. This is a serious interference into Nigeria's internal affairs.''

The ambassador particularly commended Nigeria for protecting its values in spite of the threats and opposition from other countries.

According to him, the prohibition of homosexual activities by the Nigerian authority is a demonstration of its independence as a sovereign nation.

Jong requested Nigeria's support at the forthcoming UN Human Rights Council's Ordinary Session in Geneva, Switzerland.

He said the DPRK was requesting Nigeria to make a speech to support and adopt that DPRK's proposals and also oppose contrary opinions against the country.

The ambassador said that the U.S. and other western countries were alleging human rights abuses against DPRK to further isolate the country.

He, however, said that respect for human rights in his country was not depreciating and called on countries accusing it to desist.

Responding, Mohammed said Nigeria respected the values and independence of other countries.

According to him, Nigeria does not impose its values on any country and will not allow any country to unnecessarily impose external values on it.

He pledged Nigeria's continued support and commitment to global peace and security.

The minister, who also received the outgoing Serbian Ambassador to Nigeria, Rifat Rondic, commended the bilateral relations between Nigeria and Serbia during his tenure.

Rondic had earlier informed the minister that he had spent 1,600 days in Nigeria and was about to leave for Serbia.

He delivered his country's congratulatory message to Nigeria on its election to the UN Security Council's non-permanent seat, saying that the country's embassy building in Abuja would be completed before the end of 2014.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Ambassador of the European Union (EU), Michael Arrion, also visited Mohammed.

During the visit, Arrion informed the minister of the forthcoming EU-African Summit on transformation of Africa's economy.

Arrion also informed the minister that the EU President, Jose Barroso, would visit Nigeria from Feb. 22 to Feb. 23.

In his response, Mohammed said ECOWAS and African countries were working to harmonise their relations with the EU.

He said "I hope the collaboration will be a win-win relationship for both groups.''

TOO BAD! Teenage Daughter And Mother Arrested For Flushing a Day-Old Baby In Toilet! [PHOTO]

baby flushed down toilet nigeria

A 20-year-old woman, Rafiat Oseni, has been brought before an Ebute-Meta Magistrate's court for allegedly killing her day-old baby by flushing him down a public toilet.

The incident happened at Alaba Rago Market in Ojo area of Lagos State.

It was learnt that Oseni, who hails from one of the Northern states in the country, worked as a sales girl in the market and had entered the toilet pretending to ease herself.

She was said to have forced the baby into the toilet, but the baby got stuck in it.

He died as people were attempting to rescue him.

The magistrate, Mr Olanrewaju Olatunji, in obvious shock, asked the suspect why she decided to kill her own child.

Instead of responding, Oseni burst into tears and pleaded for forgiveness.

Olatunji then called the Investigating Police Officer, Woman Corporal Veronica Uket, who narrated the incident.

She said, "Oseni went to the public toilet on January 3, 2014 around 2.30pm. She was said to have pretended that she wanted to ease herself.

"She came out and nobody suspected anything. When she left, the baby started crying. It was another woman who wanted to use the toilet that first saw the child and called the attention of the woman in charge of the public toilet.

"People went there and saw that the baby was stuck inside the toilet. By the time they removed him, they saw that he was already dead."

Uket said the suspect could not be found on the day of the incident, but she was caught the following day when she showed up again in the market for work.

She was subsequently handed over to the police who arraigned her on Wednesday on one count of murder.

The charge reads,  "That you,  Rafiat Oseni, on January 3, 2014, at about 2.30pm at Alaba Rago Market Ojo, Lagos, in the Lagos Magisterial District, did unlawfully kill a day-old baby and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 221 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State,  Nigeria,  2011."

The defendant's plea was not taken.

The police prosecutor, Inspector Richard Odigwe asked for the remand of the defendant in line with Section 264 of the Administration of Criminal Justice, Lagos State Nigeria, 2011.

Odige added that the remand would help the police obtain legal advice from the Directorate of Public Prosecution.

The magistrate agreed to remand the defendant in the Ikoyi Prison pending legal advice.

The matter was adjourned till March 10, 2014.

HIP-hop Star, Wande Coal Fanaly Reveals Why He Parted Ways With Don Jazzy...(See His Reasons)

Posted: 07 Feb 2014 01:19 AM PST

In this interview, Wande Coal revealed why he left Don Jazzy's Mavin Record, his out of wedlock five year-old son and other mind-burgling revelations.

How were you introduced to Glo?
I have been doing shows for Glo for close to four years.  So, I have been in a relationship with them before I was signed.
The deal must be so juicy for you to come on board?
I thank God for where I'm coming from.  At the end of the day, it is all about growth.
How much were you paid?
I won't disclose that, please.  But it is huge.  It is a two-year contract.
What would you say you have enjoyed so far working with Glo?
Working with one of the biggest brands in Africa is really a privilege.  There are a whole lot of advantages.  If you go out there, you would see my billboards.  At the end of the day, I will feature in some of their commercials on global TV like CNN, among other privileges.  That's good enough.  It will make me work harder.  It is a testimony and a dream come true.
But you are not going to be doing collaborations with artistes endorsed by Glo competitors?
That is not true.  You can collabo with different artistes irrespective of the brands they represent.  As far as you are not out of the Glo umbrella.
Does meeting D'Banj, your former label boss at Mo'Hit at Glo invoke any nostalgia?
It is a family.  We are brothers.  I'm happy to meet him here.  D'Banj is a big brother to me.
What is Wande Coal bringing into Glo?
I'm bringing in a lot through my music.  I'm going to be talking about the brand in my songs, even in my forthcoming album.
How has it been since you left Mavin Records?
I have learnt to do things on my own.  It is now a different ball game.  I can now diversify.
In your sober moments, do you regret leaving Don Jazzy?
If you want me to be real, Don Jazzy is like a father to me.  But like you married and left your mom and dad, life must go on. I'm happy that my brand name, Black Diamond is now a reality.  I'm rather grateful to God for the opportunity to actualize my dream.
But are you missing anything at all, like missing some of your folks there?
I'm not missing anything.  What do you want me to miss?  I still love them.  That is me.  I don't discriminate. I just love them all.
What is your relationship with Don Jazzy at the moment?
We are cool.  We are just cool.
No ill-feelings?
Why?  I can't fight Don Jazzy now.  It is not possible.
How far have you gone with your long delayed sophomore album?
My album is almost ready.  The reason for the delay was because one artiste had to wait for another before he is released.  D'Banj did his album; Wande Coal followed and Dr. Sid.  So, I had to wait for D'Banj's album.  After D'Banj, it should have been me but the company, Mo'Hit packed up.  And now, it is Black Diamond.
It was not a bad idea that Black Diamond was conceived, but all the noise, drama and controversy was it necessary?
No.  But at the end of the day, it just happened.
Was it your fault?
How is it going to be my fault?
We didn't say so?
I did everything based on love.  I didn't sign any contract in Mavin.  And I was very obedient.  So, I don't know why I should now be blamed.
Why would you be on a label without contract?
I signed a contract in Mo'Hit.  But sometimes, you have to look before you leap.  If you like what is on ground, you sign.  If not what you want, you move on.
Can you still do a collabo with Don Jazzy and D'Banj?
I can work with anybody I wish to work with now.  It is just business.
From Mushin to Black Diamond, what are you most grateful to God so far?
I thank God for everything.  I'm happy I'm still relevant in the industry.  At the end of the day, I would release this album on Black Diamond label.  Don't forget I inspired a lot of young artistes like Wizkid, Davido.  I hope I can still do more as I plan to sign new artistes very soon.
Can you still perform all the songs you recorded with Don Jazzy?
Yes, all through the festive period, I performed all my songs.
We are still asking why you left Mavin?
At the end of the day, I just wanted growth.  That's all, no beef.
But some alleged you were sort of taking sides with D'Banj?
That is not true.  Let me tell you the truth, D'Banj was even the one I hurt most when I decided to remain with Don Jazzy. We were very close but I went to Jazzy.
How then could it be because of D'Banj?  Did you hear that Wande Coal signed with DKM?  I'm just doing my thing.  So, I didn't take sides.  I love everybody.
Would the wedding bell toll for you anytime soon?
Maybe.  In four years time.
So, would you say you have been happy in your relationship?
I thank God.
Would we be surprised if your love child emerges tomorrow?
I already have a five year-old son. I have been keeping it for a while.  I had him since 2008 before I released my album.
What is his name?
Coal Junior.
And what is your relationship with your baby mama?
That is private.

Naija! Two Women Jailed In Lagos For Using Kids With Fake Wounds To Beg For Money [SEE Photos]

Posted: 07 Feb 2014 12:45 AM PST

According to PM News
The Family Court 1 in Yaba Magistracy has jailed two women for trafficking and using children to beg for alms in Victoria Island area of Lagos, southwest Nigeria.
The women, Amarachi Eke from Imo State and Chioma Eze from Awka in Anambra State, sourtheast Nigeria, were arraigned at the court on Wednesday on a two-count charge of using underaged children to beg for alms. And they pleaded guilty to the charges.

Magistrate Y.O. Aje-Afunwa sentenced them to two months imprisonment each; one month for each count charge and they are also to pay a fine of N5,000. The jail terms will run concurrently.

In sentencing them, Aje-Afunwa said there was the need for the convicts to learn some useful lessons in prison and that since they were still young, they should engage in something more productive rather than using kids to beg on the street.

According to her, they have to learn  the hard way in prison not to engage in something bad in the society, believing that the prison would transform their lives for the better.

The two women were arrested at Ajose Adeogun Street, Victoria Island recently while begging with two kids, aged six and nine years. The stomach and legs of the kids were plastered with ointment and wool to give the impression that they were suffering from serious burns to attract public sympathy.

An Environmentalist, Betty Albert, was driving by and saw the gory sight of the nine-year old boy lying on the ground and decided to assist the victim.

She parked her car and came out and told Chioma that she should be allowed to take the boy to the hospital.

On hearing this, Chioma asked the boy to run away which he did, but unfortunately, he was caught by a policeman who was on duty nearby.

The Environmentalist asked the policeman to chase after the boy and he was caught and brought back to the scene.

"I asked the boy whether something was wrong with him and he said he was okay. I asked him whether I could remove the plasters and wool on his stomach and he said yes. So I removed them and found out that the boy was alright.

"The boy told me that his younger brother was at Eko Hotel with  another woman also begging for alms and that they should help him to get the boy. The boy was brought with the other woman," Betty explained.

The boy's leg was also plastered with ointment and wool to deceive people that he had been badly burnt and needed help.

Investigation revealed that Chioma Eze, from Anambra State, had gone to Awka and told the children's parents that she wanted to assist them send the children to school in Lagos and she was allowed to take them. But unknown to the parents, their children were brought to beg for alms in Lagos.

Betty had been following the case or almost two weeks to ensure justice was done.

The women were arrested by police from Bar Beach Police Station, while the case was later transferred to Adeniji Adele Police Station.

The case was again transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, Panti, Yaba where it was charged to court on Wednesday.

According to Betty, the in-law of one of the women had been threatening her life because of the way she had pursued the case, alleging that the in-law to Chioma said he had marked her face and would ensure that she was eliminated.

The Lagos State Office of Youth and Social Department has been following the case and has expressed disgust at the way the children were ill-treated by the women.

Special Adviser to the Governor on Youth and Social Development, Dr. Dolapo Badru, said it is lamentable that Anambra State had continued to be a place where people were brought to Lagos to beg for alms.

"How can these women be so callous to have brought these children from Anambra State to beg for alms in Lagos? They even make the children feign injury and they don't have homes in Lagos and now they will say we are deporting their people. What we are saying is that these are things the public won't know," he stated.

He said Lagos "would not tolerate a situation where Anambra State would continue to infest the state with beggars and later cry wolf that we are deporting people that have no homes to stay in the state."

Badru vowed that the government would go after such people using kids to solicit for alms, while decrying the new strategy now being in used to attract public sympathy, saying it is inhuman to treat kids  that way.

He said the punishment meted out to the women would serve as deterrent to others who might want to engage in such despicable act.
