For The Men - The Unofficial Goldman Sachs Guide To Being A Man

Posted: 04 Oct 2013 04:06 PM PDT

By Business Insider

We've all seen and perhaps grown tired of guides and lists that are rife with tedious cliches and full of humdrum regurgitated meme wisdom. For that very reason, here is a fresh, and hopefully thoughtful, look at what it means to be a man today:

Stop talking about where you went to college.

Always carry cash. Keep some in your front pocket.

Rebel from business casual. Burn your khakis and wear a suit or jeans.

It's okay to trade the possibility of your 80s and 90s for more guaranteed fun in your 20s and 30s.

The best public restrooms are in hotels: The St. Regis in New York, Claridge's in London, The Fullerton in Singapore, to name a few.

Never stay out after midnight three nights in a row... unless something really good comes up on the third night.

You will regret your tattoos.

Never date an ex of your friend.

Join Twitter; become your own curator of information.

If riding the bus doesn't incentivize you to improve your station in life, nothing will.

Time is too short to do your own laundry.

When the bartender asks, you should already know what you want to drink.

If you perspire, wear a damn undershirt.

You don't have to like baseball, but you should understand the concept of what a pitcher's ERA means. Approach life similarly.

When people don't invite you to a party, you really shouldn't go. And sometimes even when you are invited, you shouldn't go.

People are tired of you being the funny, drunk guy.

When in doubt, always kiss the girl.

Tip more than you should.

You probably use your cell phone too often and at the wrong moments.

Buy expensive sunglasses. Superficial? Yes, but so are the women judging you. And it tells these women you appreciate nice things and are responsible enough not to lose them.

Do 50 push-ups, sit-ups, and dips before you shower each morning.

Eat brunch with friends at least every other weekend. Leave Rusty and Junior at home.

Be a regular at more than one bar.

Act like you've been there before. It doesn't matter if it's in the end zone at the Super Bowl or on a private plane.

A glass of wine or two with lunch will not ruin your day.

Learn how to fly-fish.

No selfies. Aspire to experience photo-worthy moments in the company of a beautiful woman.

Own a handcrafted shotgun. It's a beautiful thing.

There's always another level. Just be content knowing that you are still better off than most who have ever lived.

You can get away with a lot more if you're the one buying the drinks.

Ask for a salad instead of fries.

Don't split a check.

Pretty women who are unaccompanied want you to talk to them.

Cobblers will save your shoes. So will shoe trees.

When a bartender buys you a round, tip double.

The cliche is that having money is about not wasting time. But in reality, money is about facilitating spontaneity.

Be spontaneous.

Piercings are liabilities in fights.

Do not use an electric razor.

Desserts are for women. Order one and pretend you don't mind that she's eating yours..

Buy a tuxedo before you are thirty. Stay that size.

One girlfriend at a time is probably enough.

#StopItWithTheHastags

Your ties should be rolled and placed in a sectioned tie drawer.

Throw parties. But have someone else clean up the next day.

You may only request one song from the DJ.

Measure yourself only against your previous self.

Take more pictures. With a camera.

Place-dropping is worse than name-dropping.

When you admire the work of artists or writers, tell them. And spend money to acquire their work.

Your clothes do not match. They go together.

Yes, of course you have to buy her dinner.

Staying angry is a waste of energy.

Revenge can be a good way of getting over anger.

If she expects the person you are 20% of the time, 100% of the time, then she doesn't want you.

Always bring a bottle of something to the party.

Avoid that "last" whiskey. You've probably had enough.

Don't use the word "closure" or ever expect it in real life. There may still be a mortally wounded Russian mobster roaming the woods of south Jersey, but we'll never know.

If you are wittier than you are handsome, avoid loud clubs.

Drink outdoors. And during the day. And sometimes by yourself.

Date women outside your social set. You'll be surprised.

If it's got velvet ropes and lines, walk away unless you know someone.

You cannot have a love affair with whiskey because whiskey will never love you back.

Feigning unpretentiousness is worse than being pretentious.

The New Yorker is not high-brow. Neither is The Economist.

If you believe in evolution, you should know something about how it works.

Never take an ex back. She tried to do better and is settling with you.

Eating out alone can be magnificent. Find a place where you can sit at the bar.

Read more. It allows you to borrow someone else's brain, and will make you more interesting at a dinner party - provided that you don't initiate conversation with, "So, who are you reading..."

Ignore the boos. They usually come from the cheap seats.

Hookers aren't cool, and remember, the free ones are a lot more expensive.

Don't ever say, "it is what it is."

Start a wine collection for your kids when they are born. Add a few cases every year without telling them. It'll make a phenomenal gift in twenty years.

Don't gamble if losing $100 is going to piss you off.

Remember, "rules are for the obedience of fools and the guidance of wise men."

Married People Confess They Cheat With People Less Attractive Than Their Spouses - Survey Results

Posted: 04 Oct 2013 10:55 AM PDT

The questions, Why do men cheat? Why do women cheat? Why especially do married people who swore before man and God to be faithful to their spouse go out there looking for someone else? may never have definite answers. The assumption that people cheat because they want someone more attractive, younger, and more in shape than their current partner may be quite wrong, according to this new survey.

Victoria Milan, a dating site for married people looking to have an affair (don't ask) polled over 4,000 of their members and found that most people using the site consider their significant others to be more attractive than their affair partners. As reported by HuffPo,

...male respondents said they consider their significant others superior to their affair partners in other ways as well. Only 30 percent of men cheated with women younger than their current partners, and only a quarter of the men found their mistresses more interesting or more in shape than their partners.

So why cheat at all? Men admitted that they found their mistresses to be more passionate, better listeners and more caring than their significant others.

Over half of the female respondents also found their significant others to be more attractive than their affair partners, but 50 percent said their lovers were in better shape. Similar to the male respondents, women reported that their affair partners listen better and are more passionate than their man at home. And a whopping 89.6 percent of the women indicated that the man they're cheating with makes them feel more appreciated than their significant other.

Are you surprised by these results?

Love, Sex and Money - The Three Things Women Want the Most From Their Men

Posted: 04 Oct 2013 09:43 AM PDT

By Eniola Lawal

Someone made a list of what women want most, and she mentioned love, sex and money among other things. I sat down to ask myself how love, sex and money affects my life, our lives, an average woman's life. A woman shouldn't be damned for expecting money from her man, as far as we expect to be loved by our men, and who says we don't crave for sex? Of course we do!

This is either a question of a woman's loyalty to her fellow woman or a man loyalty to himself. Some women like to hide the truth, some just like to talk, and some men likes to worsen their own situation, so they go ahead to complain about how other women likes sex so much and how they like money. Who doesn't? Married or single, we all need to be loved, married or single when sex is involved it is really involved, we want it and then we have it, and when we talk about money, we talk about necessities, we talk about capabilities and we talk about comfort.

In every ideal relationship between a man and woman, there is something that bring the parties together, which most times is quite inexplicable apart from the scenario they met. Then, the man gives his woman attention, listens to her without judging her, communicates with her, takes his time to know every bit of her, watches his mouth while talking to her just because he doesn't want to put her off and one way or the other proves his own reliability. Now let's ask the men, why do they do all these things, to keep us? why? Because they darn loves us! That's why they would keep us and do anything to that effect. LOVE...even without requesting for it, we have it!

When two adults are involved, building a relationship and hoping to take it farther, it will survive with or without sex, and when a conclusion is reached, then it is. We also shouldn't over-look the fact that sex can be a perceptible way of expressing love to one's partner. As a woman, when you feel like making love with your man, it is normal and natural to ask, even without saying you can make move first! It doesn't mean you're an addict or you're cheap. You either choose to or not to, and when you decide on either you had better put yourself together and fulfill your end of the bargain...SEX...our decision and it should be respected, when we want it, we do!

When money is listed as fundamental as to what a woman is expecting from her man, it doesn't mean she isn't hardworking, self made or cant afford to buy her own Louboutins. The last time I checked, every woman is high maintenance, and as such can afford to maintain themselves. First of all, the need to be a comfortable man financially is very necessary, and when a woman checks that out, it is no big deal. Even the men can't complain, when he really wants to propose with a diamond ring, and he's pretty sure honeymoons are most preferable offshore, without saying, they make it happen. Diamond rings and flight tickets are not FREE...that is where MONEY comes in!

We want to be LOVED by our men, we love to have SEX with our men and we love to have FUN with our men!

P.S= FUN doesn't come handy, that explains it all.

Do You Use The Tyra Banks Lace front Wigs and Weaves? She Wants Her Hair Back!

Posted: 04 Oct 2013 02:05 AM PDT

Tyra Banks is currently suing wig companies that use her name and pictures so if you're a customer to such companies, your favorite product may be going off the market. You may be well served to stock up before the supply dries up, lol...

According to Dailymail,  Tyra Banks is filing a $10million lawsuit against ten wig companies in Los Angeles County for 'using her name, photograph, image and identity' to sell their hairpieces.

The report states that some of the wigs in question include one called the Tyra Banks inspired human hair wig, which costs a cool $300. Judging by a quick Google search, there is no shortage of Tyra Banks-inspired hairpieces available to buy on the internet.

According to the Los Angeles Superior Court, one of wig companies being sued by the star is Pink Lace Hair Goods, which features three Tyra-inspired hairpieces on its website. One of them is the Tyra Banks custom lace wig, a short, choppy style with highlights and optional adjustable straps that costs $359.

Tyra Banks is a familiar name and her face is recognized by anyone with even the smallest interest in entertainment and hollywood celebrity. She has spent decades in the modeling industry, and is also an actress, talk show host and the presenter and owner of the America Next Top Model Franchise. It is not surprising that after all this hardwork, the former supermodel is not happy that wig companies are using her name and image to make money. It's doubly painful if they're doing it without her permission or giving her any of their proceeds.

Throwback - Stella Damasus Goes Down Memory Lane

Posted: 04 Oct 2013 12:00 AM PDT

Who remembers my trip down TV memory lane HERE? On the third episode of the Stella Damasus Diaries, she also takes that journey, speaking about memories of her childhood growing up in Nigeria. If you were born in the seventies and eighties you'll definitely get the gist.

Stella remembers and sings the theme songs of the shows we enjoyed on TV as kids, and the music. The home remedies with boiling palm oil for boils, I got that once or twice, lol. I really enjoyed it, hope you do too.
