Bio

Born Olamide Adeniyi on the 15th of March 1989 is a Nigerian rapper whose lyrics are majorly in his native tongue; Yoruba. He grew up in Bariga, Lagos with 6 older siblings. Olamide was a part time student of mass communication at the Tai Solarin University. He broke into the Nigerian music industry with his hit track 'Eni duro'.

Best known for: Olamide made it big as he recently signed with luxury vodka Ciroc, making him their first Nigerian ambassador placing him amongst other Ciroc representatives like Rick Ross and French Montana. Olamide is also one of telecoms giant, Etisalat first brand ambassadors.

He mentioned American rapper Jay-Z as one of him major influences in rap. He owes a lot of gratitude to his producer ID Cabasa. Olamide's talent was recognized by D'banj who wanted to sign him on his record label.

Born David Adedeji Adeleke on the 21st of November 1992 is a Nigerian singer and songwriter. He was born in Atlanta, Georgia to wealthy parents Chief Deji Adeleke and his now late mother. Davido is the last of 3 children and came into limelight in 2011 after his popular song "Back When" that features Nigerian rapper Naeto C.
He attended The British International School, Lagos and attended Babcock University as a part time student studying Business Administrations.

Actress Ronke Oshodi Oke finally Reveals Why She don't live with her husband!

Yoruba actress Ronke Ojo popularly known as Ronke Oshodi Oke, has explained why she and her husband don't live together...despite the fact that they both live in Lagos. Ronke's husband, Anthony Gbolahan, who she married in January 2009, lives in Surulere, while Ronke lives in Ijaiye, Lagos. Explaining the arrangement, Ronke said the reason she doesn't live in Surulere with her husband is because the area is too populated.
She refuted reports that they live apart because their marriage is in trouble.

"If you have a partner or spouse who is your friend, you will understand each other very well. Fine, I am a reserved person and on the other hand I am also into showbiz. So for me to manage these things, you have to be in a reserved person. For instance when you are going out or coming in, nobody knows your movement. Secondly I am friendly but I don't really like crowd. My husband likes Surulere, he is a Surulere person. I like surburbs like Abule-Egba, Ijaiye area and so on. Whenever I say I am going to Surulere, I just go there to catch fun, see people and things I love to see. But the fact remains even if I am in Surulere, people don't really know I am there because I don't go out. I am not an outgoing person. Most of the events you see me, its either I am invited as a Master of Ceremony or the celebrant is my friend. So if there was anything wrong with our union, would he be there? Things like that you can't hide them from the public. I just believe people only like fabricating issues for whatever reason or reasons best known to them" she said

Forensic Experts identify bodies of the two Nyanya-Abuja Bombers! [photos]

Forensic experts have successfully established the identities of two men that participated in the bombing of Nyanya, a satellite community bordering the Federal Capital Territory and Nasarawa State on April 14, 2014.

Security sources told one of our correspondents in Abuja on Monday that the experts   identified their bodies using certain scientific variables, including body tissues.

It was learnt that they also   identified the third suicide bomber, who managed to escape from the scene before the explosion.

One of the sources said, "The third terror suspect has also been positively identified and we are working to arrest him; but the identities of his two accomplices have been established through forensic analysis.

"Through the assistance of experts, we now know those who carried out the attack. Although two of them are dead, we are on the trail of the one who is alive."

When contacted on the progress so far made by the team, the Police spokesman,    Frank Mba, said he would speak "at the appropriate time."

He said, "As much as we want to give information to the public on the progress of the investigation, I won't comment on it now because we don't want to be distracted.

"We don't want anything to jeopardise the investigation. I will speak at the appropriate time."

Meanwhile, 29 victims of the bomb blast are still receiving treatment at hospitals in the FCT.

It was learnt that 30 others were discharged last Thursday from the National Hospital and the Maitama District Hospital, Abuja.

The Chief Press Secretary to the FCT minister, Mohammed Sule,   said the medical bills of all the survivors   were   paid by the FCT Administration.

Sule dismissed reports that the administration had neglected the blast victims . He however said that a   victim who discharged himself from the Maitama District Hospital and checked into a private hospital was not covered.

He said, "As of Thursday last week, we had 29 blast victims still receiving treatment in various government and private hospitals in the FCT and all their medical bills are being paid by the FCT Administration.

"The FCT Minister and the Health Minister both promised to take care of the bills . We have records of all the patients and everything that is being done for them as directed by the ministers."

Meanwhile, the Nigeria Labour Congress has attributed the security challenge in the country to   poverty.

Its   Vice-president, Lucy Offiong, who briefed journalists on the plans for the 2014 May Day celebrations, therefore urged the government to urgently end poverty and the insurgency in the North-East.

She challenged security agencies to ensure that the girls abducted by insurgents in Chibok, Borno State were rescued and returned to their parents.

Offiong said, "We hope to use the May Day to reiterate our position that there is an intrinsic link                between prevailing insecurity and poverty which has been engendered by corruption, mismanagement of the economy by rapacious greed of the ruling class who have continued to churn out policies in the interest of capital to the detriment    of the working people and other poor Nigerians.

"There is a need to recognise the significance of shared prosperity as a basis for enduring peace and sustainable national development."

Offiong, who is the chairperson of the 2014 May Day committee, said the theme for the celebration is "Building enduring peace and unity: panacea for sustainable national development."

"We intend to use this occasion to recommit the labour movement in Nigeria to our collective desire for peace and unity without which our search for sustainable development will remain elusive," she added.

28-year-old father-of-two murders 3 gay men after s*x, to stop them from spreading 'evil' [Photos]

Muhammed Ejaz, a Pakistani paramedic who murdered three gay men he met online after reportedly having s*x with them.
The 28-year-old father-of-two, was arrested last week and confessed to three brutal murders, saying he wanted to stop them from committing further evil and to spread a message that homos*xuality is bad, though police insist he had s*x with his victims first.

In an interview with AFP from his prison cell Ejaz said..

'My way was wrong. It is tragic that the families have lost their relatives but they were spreading evil in society and I had to stop it.
I wanted to warn them to stay away from this evil.I started going on Manjam(Social networking site) two months ago using my mobile phone, and found that the gays are everywhere in Lahore, They are spreading evil and transmitting diseases. They cannot control themselves.I tried to convince them to stop their dirty acts, but they would not," he said. "So I decided to kill them.

Ejaz said he was the victim of s*xual abuse by an older boy when he was around 10 and had led a deeply unhappy childhood. He insists he is not gay himself.
'I have hated them ever since for what happened to me.
The victims were a middle-aged retired army Major and two other men, both in their twenties. All three were found with their necks broken and had been sedated. After examining their mobile phone call logs, police were able to identify Ejaz's number and found another former lover whom they used to lure him to a meeting a week ago, where they arrested him.

The killings have sent fear through the underground gay community in the eastern city of Lahore, with concerns that Ejaz could be lionised as a hero in a conservative Islamic society where homos*xuality is stigmatised and sodomy is punishable by up to 10 years in jail.

Boko Haram takes Abducted schoolgirls to Chad, Cameroon; marries them off on N2,000 bride price each!

Most of the 234 Borno schoolgirls in Boko Haram captivity have been ferried abroad to Chad and Cameroon after they were married off to sect members on N2,000 bride price each, an elder told Daily Trust yesterday.
The female students were taken from their hostels at the Government Girls Secondary School Chibok on the night of April 14.
About 40 had escaped in the days after the incident, but parents and school authorities said at least 234 of them were yet to be found.
Dr. Pogu Chibok, who is the leader of the Chibok Elders Forum, told Daily Trust yesterday that latest information available to them indicates that most of the girls have been taken to the neighboring Cameroon and Chad by their captors.
He said before they were ferried in canoes across the Lake Chad, a wedding ceremony was conducted at a town on the border with Cameroon where they were married off to Boko Haram militants.
He said N2,000 was paid as bride price on each of the girls to the specific Boko Haram members who took them from their school and who had assumed "ownership" of the students.
"They ferried them in canoes to Cameroon and Chad republic after they were wedded off to Boko Haram members who bidded (sic) and paid N2,000 each as dowries on their heads," Bitrus said.
"The dowry was paid to their captors, the very people who abducted them from their school. One of them who married one of the girls took her to a border town close to Cameroon where villagers saw her."
Following their abduction, the schoolgirls were thought to be first taken to the Boko Haram camps in the notorious Sambisa Forest. Reports later said villagers had seen the girls being conveyed in trucks to other locations.
Bitrus said yesterday: "So many sources have informed us that the girls have been taken to Cameroon. Many villagers said they saw the girls being transported in trucks and then in canoes.
"On Sunday they were taken to Dikwa area where they (Boko Haram) have a camp there. From there they took them to Marte, then Monguno before they were finally ferried in canoes. It was yesterday we got this latest report of them being married off to the insurgents by their captors."
He said sources in Cameroon told them that most of the girls were now being held at "an area where the Boko Haram operates in Cameroon."
'Crying day and night'
On whether military authorities were informed about the movements of the girls, Bitrus said: "The military was alerted on Tuesday about two weeks ago when some villagers saw many of the girls being transported in trucks, some with even their school uniforms. The villagers tried calling the senator representing the zone but they couldn't get him so they went to Bama barracks where they reported the matter.
"At the Bama barracks they were told that they must put it in writing, that that is the military tradition. At that time if the military had intervened they would have stopped them from reaching their destination.
"And the fact that for nearly two weeks we have been talking about this and nothing is being done, then there are questions we have to ask. Nobody did anything."
Bitrus sobbed as he spoke to our reporter yesterday.
"What is happening with the Nigerian nation? I think we demand some answers. Today it is happening to these unfortunate girls from Chibok, tomorrow it may be somewhere else and that is why all Nigerians must rally around us on this," he said.
"If these captors are trying to achieve a political point, I think the best thing is for us to try to make sure that they don't succeed but from all indications they are succeeding due to inaction of government. It is helping these people in achieving their objectives."
Earlier yesterday, Bitrus spoke to the BBC Hausa radio saying "parents of these girls have been angry that despite the existence of government, there has not been concrete effort from government on the matter.
"Female parents have been crying day and night, because nobody knows what government is doing about the whole issue. All that we read in the papers is that Nigerian Army have done this or that."
When contacted over claims that the military was informed of the movement of the schoolgirls, the Director of Defence Information, Major General Chris Olukolade, told Daily Trust: "The concern and anxiety from all quarters is quite understandable. Please be assured that as much as the forces may not disclose details of action being taken to secure the freedom of the girls, every information received on the subject is duly analyzed and acted upon as necessary.
"No information is being ignored in the concerted effort to ensure the safety and freedom of the girls. Just pray for the successful outcome of all efforts please."

SAD NEWS! "Fuji house of commotion' Producer & CEO of Top Radio FM, Amaka Igwe is dead!

Foremost producer, writer, director and a leading player in the Nigerian motion picture industry, Amaka Igwe has passed on. She died last night April 28th in Enugu after an asthma attack. Mrs Igwe had gone to Enugu in company of her husband for pre-production preparations for a new Igbo soap when the sad incident occurred.

She suffered an asthma attack and was immediately rushed to the hospital after initial intervention had failed but sadly died before getting there.

Mrs Igwe is survived by her husband of 21 years Charles Igwe, three children, an aged mother. So sad! May her soul rest in peace...amen.

Born Amaka Isaac-Ene, the deceased was an accomplished writer, producer, director, entrepreneur and teacher.

She is the founder of BoBTV Expo, founder and CEO of Top Radio 90.9FM, Amaka Igwe Studios, and the newly-launched Q Entertainment Networks.

A visionary and pioneer of modern Nigerian TV drama and film, she hit national limelight as the writer and producer of award-winning TV soap 'Checkmate' and its off shoot 'Fuji House of Commotion'.

Her Nollywood projects include RattleSnake and Violated - two critically-acclaimed movies that set apart Amaka Igwe Studios in the much-criticized Nollywood industry.

Amaka Igwe studied Education/Religion at the University of Ife (Now Obafemi Awolowo University). She had a Master's Degree from the University of Ibadan. She had her early education at All Saints School (Now Trans Ekulu Primary School), Girls High School Awkunanaw, Enugu and Idia College, Benin.

She worked as a lecturer at the Anambra State University of Technology and briefly in oil and Gas, before settling for the motion picture industry.
