SAD NEWS! Vice President, Sambo’s Younger Brother Dies In Fatal Car Accident! [PHOTO] Posted: 27 Apr 2014 05:13 PM PDT One of Nigeria's finest pilots, Captain Sabo Sambo, died on Sunday in an auto accident on the airport road in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. Captain Sambo, 60, was the younger brother to the Vice President, Namadi Sambo. He was on his way to catch a flight when his tire punctured. His car was said to have hit a tree and went up in flames. In his condolence message, President Goodluck Jonathan described the death as a very tragic one, coming at a time the country still needed the services of Captain Sambo. He prayed that God would grant his soul eternal rest and asked the Vice President, the family, the government and people of Kaduna State to bear the loss with fortitude. The Vice President was away in Tanzania on an official visit when the news broke that the younger brother had passed on. The burial had already taken place according to Islamic rites. Many friends and well-wishers gathered at the Vice President's residence to console him on the tragic loss Among those who came to condole him were President Goodluck Jonathan, the First Lady, Mrs patience Jonathan and many other government officials The Chief Imam of the Abuja Mosque led in a short prayer for the repose of the soul of the departed Vice President Sambo described his brother, whom he said had gone back to God, as one of the best pilots in the country. Captain Sambo was a retired Air Force Pilot and had served with the Presidential Air Fleet before moving into private practice. The prayer is that God will grant him eternal rest and the family the fortitude to bear the loss. Man who wanted to blow up girlfriend after getting her pregnant accidentally blows himself up too! [Photos] Posted: 27 Apr 2014 11:00 AM PDT   A Chinese man kidnapped his pregnant 21-year-old girlfriend, tied a gas tank to her back and ignited when police turned up to try and rescue her. According to Daily mail,Li Moulian, 36, dragged Xu Fan, 21, out of her bed and bundled her into the back of his car before carrying out the vicious attack in Huizhou City of Guangdong Province, southern China. The pair ended up side-by-side in hospital beds as surgeons battle to save their lives, but, despite the mother-to-be's horrific injuries, her unborn baby managed to survive. She fell pregnant by mistake after a one-night-stand, but the pair decided to stay together and moved into to a house in Mazhuang New Village. Sixth months into the relationship, the pressure seems to have been too much for the father-to-be.Moulian attacked Fan while she was asleep and dragged her out of her bed, telling her he planned to kill her. He bundled her into the car and drove around the town before police were able to spot him.They also received calls from disturbed neighbours who saw the young woman being dragged across the street. The girl was pulled from the car by police, but officers were forced to extinguish flames on her body. Both the man and women suffered life-threatening burns and were taken to hospital. The pair ended up in the same operating room side-by-side as surgeons worked to save the lives After rescuing the girl and extinguishing the blaze, police then rescued the man who suffered more severe burns as a result, and who is not expected to survive. Moulian ignited the tank in the back seat of a car after dragging his girlfriend from her bed in the middle of the night The young woman's family said they had warned her against getting involved too quickly with Li Moulian, from Lufeng City located in the southeast of Guangdong Province. Her uncle Wu Chin, 47, said: ' We had warned her that she needed to know more about him before deciding to spend her life with him, it seems sadly the warnings were true as he clearly has mental problems. 'To suddenly accuse her in the middle of the night trying to kill his parents shows he is obviously severely paranoid. 'It is a bad start in life for the child as well with the father having obvious mental problems.' UK & US Join Nigeria in Search for abducted Schoolgirls! Posted: 27 Apr 2014 09:43 AM PDT Britain and the United States of America have joined the search for the 234 schoolgirls abducted from Government Girls Secondary School, Chibok, Borno, by the Boko Haram sect, SUNDAY PUNCH can authoritatively report. The girls were kidnapped in their hostel on April 14 after members of the sect, pretending to be soldiers, lured the pupils away from their hostel before setting it ablaze. About 30 of the girls escaped from captivity while about a dozen, who fled into the bush when the sect attacked the school, have since returned to the school. The military had initially claimed that it had rescued all but 18 of the girls but the school principal, Asabe Kwabura, debunked the statement. Parents who tried to rescue their children from the Sambisa Forest where the pupils are reportedly being kept by Boko Haram had to turn back when they learnt that the sect was heavily armed and that they might lose their lives in the process. An enlarged Security Council meeting presided over by President Goodluck Jonathan on Thursday directed the military to do everything possible to rescue the schoolgirls. On Friday, British Foreign Secretary, William Hague, said his country had begun talks with Nigeria over the incident. He stated this in a response made available to our correspondent by the spokesperson of the British High Commission in Abuja, Mr. Robert Fitzpatrick. Hague said, "The appalling abduction in northern Nigeria on April 14 is a stark reminder of the threat of sexual violence faced by women in conflict prone areas. "I am very concerned that the majority of the girls are still missing.  I spoke to Nigerian Foreign Minister, Wali, about this case on 18 April, and we are talking to Nigerian authorities about how best to assist in their efforts to secure the girls' release and bring those responsible to justice." Similarly, in a response to SUNDAY PUNCH's inquiry, the Canadian Counsellor in Abuja, Ms. Alexandra Mackenzie, said her country was disturbed by the news of the abducted girls. She said, "We are very concerned about the case of the kidnapped girls in the North-East. "The High Commission of Canada is following the development closely here in Nigeria." It was further gathered on Friday that the Federal Government had also enlisted the intelligence services of the United States in the search for the abducted pupils. A competent security source said the Federal Government would rely on the higher technology of the US and UK to facilitate the search for the missing girls. The source, who pleaded anonymity, stated that there would be no physical presence of operatives of the Western agencies in the operation to rescue the girls. He added that security operatives engaged in the search for the pupils had made some arrests. The source did not disclose the number of suspects arrested in relation to the incident. It was gathered that those arrested included a security guard at the school and some members of the Chibok community, whose names came up during the military's interaction with some of the girls who escaped from the insurgents. The source stated, "The whole emphasis is on intelligence gathering; and that is why the Federal Government is contacting the US and the UK to assist in the area of intelligence gathering. "Another thing you must know is that several arrests have been made, and a lot of efforts are being made. "The security guard at the school in Chibok is being quizzed and some people from the community too have been arrested," the source said. In a chat with The Entertainer, Rachael whose dream as a kid was to be a singer and dancer said, "I started acting in 1993 after I got separated from my husband; he's late now. I was a full time housewife. I believed so much in myself, and when I got over the shock of the separation and all that, I made up my mind that I was going to make a statement without a man. I wanted to prove that a hard working woman could make an impact and with God's grace, I have come a long way. On how she was able to handle the separation, she said "The truth is that when you are focused and you know where you are going to, you are likely to succeed. I made up my mind then that I wasn't going to remarry. I was determined to make it and make all men including my late husband know that with God by her side, a woman can make it in life without a man's support." Admitting how hurt she was after her husband left, she said, "Yes. During our years of courtship and marriage, I never suspected that we would just break up like that or anything could ever come between us. Back then, he told me everything. I could tell you where he was at every moment; I trusted him so much. 'What I Told President Jonathan About Boko Haram'- Guru Maharaj Ji Reveals! Posted: 27 Apr 2014 07:46 AM PDT Sat. Guru Maharaj Ji says he had told President Goodluck Jonathan who Boko Haram sponsors were. He says if only the president listened to him when he visited Aso Rock two years ago, all these wouldn't have been happening. Read below; She must have spent a fortune, wasted days and hours for fitting and amendments, but the expert jury we put together to access the wedding dress has given velvety voiced Tiwa Savage a hard knock! We are told that the ball, strapless gown could have been perfect if Tiwa Savage was a fuller figure woman but for her shape it was off the mark. In fact, one of the experts said jocularly that except she had become pregnant over night; it was not appropriate. "The gown looked oversized at first glance and that is not a good sign at all". "Tiwa is svelte, with an hour-glass shape to die for, did you notice that with the dress? If you didn't then that dress did not pass the first test of fitting. Maybe the gown minus the frills would have worked better" one of our experts noted. But Tiwa got excellent marks for her make-up which was described as flawless. It is no surprise that the décor, the planning and the execution was superb, that is because Elohor Aisien's Prive Event was in charge. We gathered that the celebration was in three parts. The first part was the wedding proper where the couple were formally joined as one flesh and one blood. This was held in an open plan area that was decorated slightly and guests were seated church-style facing the couple. [MUST READ] Babalawo Pastors! Posted: 27 Apr 2014 08:11 AM PDT Bishop David Oyedepo says poverty is not of God.  He insists a child of God has no business being poor and declares: "There's a proven covenant cure for poverty."  If this were true and proven, all the world's poor would have become rich Christians by now. Let us juxtapose the bishop's enticing words with the word of God and see whose report should be believed.  Jesus says: "You will always have the poor among you." (John 12:8).  Moses says: "The poor will never cease from the land." (Deuteronomy 15:11).  So where does that leave Bishop Oyedepo's "proven covenant cure for poverty?"  It is a pie in the sky. Wealth transfer A few years ago, Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo organised a crusade in Port Harcourt, Nigeria captioned "The Coming Wealth Transfer."  The import of this crusade was to bring to the notice of Nigerians that God was getting ready to transfer the riches of non-Christians to Christians. You need to ask people like Pastor Matthew how long this wealth transfer will take to come.  Ask him why it has not yet taken place in the 2000 years since Jesus came.  Ask him if this wealth transfer is likely to take place in your lifetime; otherwise of what interest is it to you?  Be cynical when he asks you to make a down-payment for this wealth transfer now, in order to get the one that is coming in the by-and-by.     In the churches, truth has fallen in the pews and falsehood has become the established doctrine. It is important to get clarity on such issues because some years earlier, officials of the Charity Commission in England detected another wealth transfer in Pastor Matthew's Kingsway church.  That transfer was not from God to the congregation: it was from the congregation to Pastor Matthew. Hundreds of thousands of pounds of church funds had been dubiously transferred overseas from Kingsway.  A 120,000 pounds birthday party was given for Pastor Matthew at the expense of the church, out of which 80,000 was used to buy him a Mercedes Benz.  It was also reported that Pastor Matthew used the church's visa card to buy a timeshare apartment in Florida.  In contravention of British charity law, church payments were made to his private companies which were operated from church premises. As a result of these irregularities, Kingsway was placed in the hands of receivers, new trustee managers were appointed and Pastor Matthew was asked to repay 200,000 pounds to the church.  The upshot of this was that he relocated temporarily to Nigeria, where he started preaching messages of "Sweat-less Wealth," "101 Answers to Money Problems," and "Twenty-Four Hour Miracles." Witches and wizards Some pastors declare that they have the anointing to make people rich.  This makes them no different from "babalawos."  Jesus says believers should be as wise as serpents. (Matthew 10:16).  Therefore, Christians need to determine exactly where this poverty-eradicating anointing comes from because all our springs must come from the Lord. (Psalm 87:7). There is no biblical record of Jesus ever making any man financially rich.  On the contrary, he sought to make the rich young ruler poor by requiring him to sell all he has and give the proceeds to the poor as a precondition for discipleship. (Matthew 19:21).  He then tells all Christians to do likewise. (Luke 12:33).  Jesus even refused to assist a man in obtaining his rightful share of his family inheritance; telling him instead: "Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; a man's life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions." (Luke 12:15). When Pastor Wale Adefarasin became the Lagos State President of the PFN (Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria), he declared grandiloquently that his primary goal would be the eradication of poverty in Lagos State.  You may well ask how he proposed to do that.  This turned out to be nothing more than the usual vain platitude of pastors.  The proverb goes: "Physician, heal yourself." (Luke 4:23).  To date, Wale Adefarasin has yet to eradicate poverty in his church, Guiding Light Assembly; how much more in Lagos State. Fake gospel The preaching of the gospel is not intended to eradicate poverty.  Indeed, the gospel acknowledges the existence of the poor and confers spiritual blessings on them. (Luke 6:20).  Simultaneously, it proclaims woe on the rich. (Luke 6:24-25).  Jesus even warns that it will be virtually impossible for the rich to enter the kingdom of heaven. (Matthew 19:24).  If so, why are pastors presenting the antithesis of the counsel of God as our exalted objective in the service of Christ? Televangelist Kenneth Copeland insists that: "You can draw on heaven like a magnet.  We don't have to wait until we get to heaven to get God's blessings.  Now's when we need them."  However, in sharp contrast to this preoccupation with earthly riches in the churches of today, Jesus counsels that we should not lay up treasures for ourselves on earth. (Matthew 6:19).  He says we should go into the world and make disciples of all nations. (Matthew 28:19).  He does not say we should go into the world and make successful businessmen of all nations. It is in the nature of this world whose prince is Satan to promote poverty.  In the kingdoms of men, a few strategically-placed individuals monopolise a preponderance of the resources ensuring, for instance, that the rap-artist sometimes makes far more money than the heart-surgeon.  Jesus does not prescribe a reform of this unjust world system through the gospel.  But he offers a different kingdom not of this world where spiritual conscientiousness and industriousness will be handsomely rewarded. (Matthew 25:14-30). Pastors of divination A pastor friend told me a lady in his church asked him to pray for her so she would get a job.  When she finally got one, he discovered on questioning her that she only earned 15,000 naira a month.  He appealed to me for understanding: "What is she going to do with such a small amount?  How much can she possibly give to the church out of that?"  So he set the church's prayer-squad back to work to pray for a bigger salary for her in Jesus' name.  Clearly, his interest in her financial well-being was not unconnected with the amount he expected to be able to extort from her as contribution to his church. Lola Afolabi was indignant.  She asked: "If a man asks his pastor to pray for the success of his business, will he not pray?"  Lola's annoyance comes from the fact that in the churches, truth has fallen in the pews and falsehood has become the established doctrine.  We should not presume that our success is always the will of God.  Solomon says: "The prosperity of fools shall destroy them." (Proverbs 1:32).  Peter's prayer for Jesus' success turned out to be devil-inspired. (Matthew 16:22-23). Therefore, Agur utters in Proverbs a peculiar but far more insightful prayer than those of pastors pretending to have the anointing to make people rich: "Keep falsehood and lies far from me; give me neither poverty nor riches, but give me only my daily bread.  Otherwise, I may have too much and disown you and say, 'Who is the Lord?'  Or I may become poor and steal, and so dishonour the name of my God."
