Speaking with PREMIUM TIMES, the Public Relations Executive to Psquare, Bayo Adetu, described the report as irresponsible blogging. "I am too busy to give some wanna be blogger traffic, I don't know where that report is coming from. Maybe they just want to get traffic to their site. It's baseless and untrue". Jude Okoye, in a tweet, had suggested he might have called it quit with Square records having kicked off his own record label, North side entertainment. [MUST READ] THE MISTAKE I MADE' - PRINCIPAL Of the School girls kidnapped By Boko Haram Reveals! Posted: 18 Apr 2014 11:41 AM PDT The Associated Press reported on Thursday how the principal of the Government Secondary School, Asabe Kwambura, mistakenly handed over 129 schoolgirls to Boko Haram gunmen, who posed as military men. The story was tweeted by Jon Gambrel on his twitter handle @jongambrell/AP around noon on Thursday. The principal said,  "the insurgents arrived after midnight at her Government Girls' Secondary School, wearing military fatigues and posing as soldiers. She said she believed them when they told her that they needed to move the girls for their own safety. So, she allowed the extremists posing as soldiers to load the students on to the back of a truck. "It was only as the armed men were leaving, and started shooting, that she realised her mistake. The militants killed a soldier and a police officer guarding the school," she said. Meanwhile, there is confusion over the status of the girls said to have been rescued by the military on Wednesday. The school principal told Associated Press that the students were yet to be found. "Up till now, we are still waiting and praying for the safe return of the students , the security people, especially the vigilance groups and the well-meaning volunteers of Gwoza are still out searching for them. The military people, too, are in the bush searching," the principal, Asabe Kwambura, told The Associated Press by telephone. She said only 14 of the 129 girls and young women kidnapped by gunmen before dawn Tuesday had returned to Chibok town - four who jumped from the back of a truck and 10 who escaped into the bush when their abductors asked them to cook a meal. Major  General Chris Olukolade, the Defence Ministry spokesman, had in a statement late Wednesday night, said that  all but eight of the students had been accounted for. "The others have been freed this evening," he said. He also said security forces had captured one of the abductors. Yesterday, the Borno State Commissioner for Education, Musa Inuwa Kubo, went to Chibok and took custody of 30 of the girls. The commissioner said , "I'm right at the Government Girls Secondary School, Chibok, the scene of the unfortunate abduction. At the moment ,we have taken custody of 30 girls. There is an increase of 16 students whose parents returned them to school after they ran home on the day of the attack. "We had made announcements and calling on parents whose children and wards ran home. The aim is for us to take proper account of our 129 students, who were at the hostel on the day of that unfortunate attack.  " By our records of 129 students being at the hostel at the time of that unfortunate incident, we are expecting the return of about 99 students, who might be among those said to have been rescued by the military. "My self, the principal of the school, Asabe Kwambura, parents, other students and residents are awaiting the return of our students. We have no reason to doubt or contradict Wednesday's  announcement by the Defence Headquarters, given the fact that the military personnel are those leading the search and rescue operations along with civilian volunteers. The military, in a statement by Major-General Chris Olukolade, said the controversy that had been generated around the efforts at securing the lives of the abducted students of Government Girls' Secondary School, Chibok was unfortunate. "The ongoing frantic efforts of security forces along with vigilante groups including hunters working to locate and free the abducted students had, continued to be keenly monitored at the Operation Centre of the Defence and Army Headquarters as regular progress reports are being received from troops on the ground.  In this regard, a report was filed in from the field indicating that a major breakthrough had been recorded in the search.  There was no reason to doubt this official channel, hence the information was released to the public immediately.  Surprisingly however, the school principal, one of the sources quoted in the report has denied all that was attributed to her for whatever reasons.   This is an unfortunate development indeed, yet the Defence Headquarters would not want to join issues with anyone. "It has to be reaffirmed, however, that the report forwarded to the public on this issue was in good faith and not intended to deceive the public as is being interpreted following the denials by the School principal and Government of Borno State.  Like all other citizens, the military is deeply concerned to ensure that the students are safe and freed alive.  There is indeed no reason to play politics with the precious lives of the students.  The number of those still missing is not the issue now as the life of every Nigerian is very precious."                      TOP STORIES See The most Beautiful Actress in Africa? JAMB releases 2014 UTME results: Only 47 candidates, out of 1 Million+, score above 250! Posted: 18 Apr 2014 10:46 AM PDT The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released the results of the 2014 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), four days after its conduct. The board, however, blacklisted a total of 23 centres in Abia and Rivers states for massive examination irregularities, while results of 2,494 candidates were withheld for further scrutiny. JAMB Registrar, Professor 'Dibu Ojerinde, who announced the release of the results at a news conference in Abuja, on Thursday, however, said the exercise recorded decline in examination malpractices across the federation. He disclosed that the affected centres were involved in widespread cheating and extortion, allegedly charging the students between N500 and N1,000, adding that a comprehensive report would be forwarded to the Federal Ministry of Education for further action. Ojerinde said for instance, three centres at Nbawsi, Abia State, were "involved in extortion. The JAMB boss added that "the team leader who covered the supervision of the examination in the town was given N15,000 from the proceeds. He collected it as exhibit and we have paid it to JAMB account. The receipt of payment will be sent to the school." Meanwhile, Professor Ojerinde has said only 47 candidates were able to score 250 and above, out of over one million candidates that sat for the Paper Pencil Test (PPT) and Dual-Based Test (DBT) modes of the UTME conducted on Saturday.  According to him, only 24 candidates scored 250 and above in the PPT, while 23 candidates scored 250 and above in the DBT, out of 1,015,504 that applied for both modes.   Giving the breakdown of the results of the sixth edition of UTME on the two modes, Ojerinde disclosed that in PPT, 275,282 candidates scored below 150; 122,157 scored between 150 and 159, while 115,456 scored between 160 and 169 points. He also disclosed that 315,401 candidates scored between 170 and 199, while 108,488 candidates scored between 200 and 249. On the DBT, Ojerinde said 2,471 candidates scored below 150, with 2,830 scoring between 150 and 159, while 3,808 scored between 160 and 169. He also added that 6,678 candidates scored between 170 and 199, while 1,309 candidates scored between 200 and 249. He explained that a total of 990,179 candidates applied for PPT, while 25,325 candidates applied for DBT, totalling 1,015,504 applicants. The board, however, is yet to decide on the cut-off point. JAMB Registrar further disclosed that universities had highest number of applicants as first choice, with 995,901 candidates, while 13,761 candidates chose polytechnics as first choice; 20,558 opted for colleges of education and 32 candidates for innovative enterprise institute as first choice. Speaking on the conduct of the examinations, Professor Ojerinde said "it was one of the most successfully conducted exercise ever by the board." He said from the two modes of examinations conducted, there was a total of 36,164 invalid results due to improper shedding by candidates, while a total of 37,315 candidates were absent from the examination. Also, a total of 1,865 centres were used for the conduct of PPT and 133 for DBT across the federation. According to the JAMB boss, "in this year's exercise, the board experienced a remarkable decrease in the number of applicants that registered for the PPT. "This reduction in number is attributed to the growing confidence of candidates in the Computer-Based Test (CBT), which definitely will be full blown by 2015. "Please take note that the 2014 CBT exercise will take place from Saturday, May 17 to Saturday, May 31." On exhibits recovered from centres during the examinations, Ojerinde said this year witnessed a decrease in candidates' desperation and incidence of malpractice were not rampant, unlike what was witnessed last year. He, however, said over a dozen handsets, irregular answer sheets, among others, were found on candidates. Ojerinde disclosed that a medical doctor, who impersonated his wife and sat for the examination, was caught in Jigawa State, adding that the matter would be reported to the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA). According to China Post, they claim Qin & his 3 colleagues spread false reports that a foreign victim of the 2011 train crash received a £24million in compensation while denying equal payment to Chinese families. [PHOTOS] Posted: 18 Apr 2014 08:22 AM PDT More than 5,000 villagers turned up to watch sacred cow Ganga and Prakash get hitched during the 1 million rupee Hindu ceremony A cow and a bull have been married off in a lavish Indian wedding - costing £10,000. More than 5,000 villagers turned up to watch sacred cow Ganga and Prakash get hitched during the 1 million rupee Hindu ceremony held near Indore in Madya Pradesh. The nuptials were organised by Ganga's guardian, Gopal Patwari, to save the region's harvest from a 'natural disaster'. He said:: "Natural calamities like hailstorms and heavy rain occurred in nearby areas, destroying their crops. "To prevent this from happening to our villages we organised this wedding on the advice of Sadhus and holy men. "We have been told this will maintain peace in our village." The wedding took two months to organise and invitations were sent to 10,000 residents of three closely connected villages, encouraging them to donate what they could spare. Most are farmers growing wheat, barley, beans and cotton and so heavily depend on a good harvest to survive. CowGanga, who is considered sacred in the Hindu religion, arrived early dressed in a red custom-made bridal saree, jewels, dyes and a garland. The bull Prakash arrived in a decorated bugee and draped in a multicoloured sherwani and orange turban. The ceremony started with Mr Patwari giving Ganga away before a Sadhu performed all the traditional rituals. This included Haldi, Ganesh Pooja, Mandap and Fera - where the couple are led around a sacred fire to affirm the marriage. Mr Patwari looked overjoyed as they were finally announced a couple, sparking hours of feasting and dancing to a DJ. He said: "I am happy. People around me are happy. It's nothing but the truth, like they say in the law court. One of the dashing and dazzling actors who is making serious waves in Nollywood at the moment, YES INTERNATIONAL! gathered, is not proud of his wife. And because of that, he has warned the woman who has given him about two children never to tell anyone that he is her husband. The reason for his weird action is because he feels the woman does not befit him. The star actor, very handsome and currently rolling in money and picking awards here and abroad, married the woman, who is older than him, when he had nothing and was struggling to be somebody in life. But now that the Almighty God has blessed him, he is no longer proud of her, even though both of them still live under one roof. Well, over a younger actor who has J and I beginning his name and surname. The shameless actresses have F and A and S and O heralding theirs. The battle ground was Winnis, an artistes' rendezvous in Surulere, Lagos. Ashawo, boy friend snatcher, shameless old fool and old cargo were some of the foul languages the duo used on each other. Before clothes were torn and injuries inflicted with their nails and via some crazy punches. S and O, to tell the truth, was the first to hook J and I. But from behind, F and A stepped in and almost succeeded in pocketing the young actor with money and gifts and attention. Somehow, information got to S and O and she waylaid F and A at Winnis. Taking her unawares and giving her what is known in local parlance as first attack, she was almost stripping her amidst heavy blows from left, right and centre when some of their colleagues came to her rescue. S and O is from the Eastern part of the country, on the fair side and not too tall while F and A is from Benue State, slim-built, K-legged and multi-coloured, due to bleaching. The latter had been acting before the former, although the former is more popular. She has also been luckier in terms of cornering some career-enhancing movie roles. Their ugly story and fight, meanwhile, are now the talk-of-the-town among their colleagues and even non-colleagues. Particularly all those that were there as the crazy drama was unfolding. Shameful Act! How A Lagos DPO R*ped Me- 31 Year Old Mother Of Two Narrates Her Story! Posted: 18 Apr 2014 06:12 AM PDT   A 31-year-old cook, Idowu Akinwunmi, has narrated how the Divisional Police Officer in charge of Onikan Station, SP Adekunle Awe, allegedly r*ped, extorted and threatened her life. The victim told PUNCH Metro that the incident occurred on April 15, 2014. She explained that  on April 14 she was arrested by the police for "spurious" reasons. She said, "I work at an eatery on Keffi Street, Obalende, as a cook. The eatery also has a tailor's shop in the compound and it belongs to the same person. There is also a quarters where we all live in the compound. "Most of the workers are from Cotonou, Benin Republic. On Monday, a popular customer, known as Friday, came to eat. He later left, but some moments later, he returned to say he could not get a bus home. "Friday had been making advances at me, but we were not a couple. I allowed him to sleep over." Akinwunmi said around 1am, her boss, who discovered that someone was sleeping over, called the police to arrest her and Friday. She said two other people, who slept over at the tailors' quarters were also rounded up. She said, "My madam called policemen to arrest all of us.  I had only a pair of shorts, a shirt and a wrapper on. I had N11, 000 in my pocket and my phone was not with me. On getting to the station, I got the phone of a policewoman and used it to call one of the tailors to come and help. "In the morning of Tuesday, two tailors, Ben and Matthias, arrived to bail out their friends, but they were also arrested, bringing our total number to six." The victim said a few hours later, she felt sticky and pleaded with a policewoman on duty to allow her have a bath. She said she could not use the shower because it was too filthy, adding that on her way out, she met the DPO for the first time. She said, "I met the DPO along the corridor. He asked me what happened and I explained everything to him. "Around 10pm on Tuesday, the DPO sent a policeman to call Friday and I. I was wearing boxers and a top. I stayed at the counter and Friday went in to see the DPO. A few minutes later, Friday came out and the DPO called me in. "The DPO said he could make sure that I spent the rest of my life in jail, but I begged him. He then came close to me and started rubbing his hands all over my body but I rejected his advances. "He said my boss had told him that he could do whatever he wanted to do with me. He said since I was from Benin Republic, if he killed me, nothing would happen. "He said he would also make sure that the remaining five suspects would be sent to prison. At this point, the DPO had already taken off his clothes. Since I was afraid for my life, I allowed the DPO to have his way. "I begged him to use a condom, but he refused. He pushed me to a smaller room in his office and put me on the bed and had s*x with me. Immediately after he had finished, he told me to shower in a bathroom inside his office." The mother of two told PUNCH Metro that the DPO promised to ensure that she was released the next morning and ordered a policeman to take her back into the cell. Akinwunmi said when she returned to the cell, she cried through the night. She said the following morning, she told some female police officers about the incident. She said when her people came to bail her from the station, the DPO asked one Inspector Taiwo to bring her to his office.  "The DPO gave me his telephone number and asked for mine, but I didn't give it to him. He then said I could leave and promised that no one would collect bail money from us. However, on getting to the counter, the policemen on duty collected N30, 000 from us," she said. Our correspondent learnt that the victim immediately went to the Lagos Island Maternity Clinic to do a test. A copy of the medical report, signed by one Dr. R. A. Seriki, stated, "A complaint of s*xual assault: General clinical condition satisfactory; no laceration, no bruises, no areas of hyperemia, negative for HIV 1 and 2, pregnancy negative. Has been placed on PEP and emergency contraception." The matter was said to have been reported at the Area A Police Command, Lion Building, after which the Area Commander, ACP Imohimi Edgal, invited the victim for interrogation. PUNCH Metro learnt that the matter had been transferred to the office of the Commissioner of Police. The Director, Project Alert on Violence Against Women, Dr. Josephine Effah-Chukwumah, urged the police to handle the matter seriously. She said, "The fact that there were no bruises does not mean that r*pe did not occur. The moment there is a direct threat to life on the condition of s*x, the offence is r*pe. It is unacceptable." Meanwhile, the Network on Police Reform in Nigeria has petitioned the National Human Rights Commission over the alleged r*pe of Akinwunmi. The petition, dated April 16 2014 and signed by NOPRIN's National Coordinator, Mr. Okechukwu Nwagunma, read in part, "We were informed that she (Akinwunmi) was detained in the cell… "She said that Awe forcefully had carnal knowledge of her without protection after which he threatened to send her to prison." The petition added that Akinwunmi was released after some policemen at the Onikan police station had extorted money from her. It was gathered that  the Police Service Commission had received copies of the petition, while the Lagos Office of the NHRC had been directed to investigate the complaint. When contacted, the Special Adviser to the Executive Secretary of the NHRC, Mr. Henry Obe, said, "Yes we received a petition concerning the r*pe of a woman by a Lagos DPO. "The case was forwarded to the NHRC Lagos office today for investigation." When Awe was  contacted, he denied the allegation, saying it was all falsehood. He said, "That allegation is totally false; I am aware of it. But I cannot talk now because I am driving. "I am on my way to the Lagos Police Command. I will call you when I am through." The  state Police Public Relations Officer, Ngozi Braide, could not be reached for comment. Calls made to her phone were not answered. The film centered around the very hilarious travails of five 'village' guys who pretended to be ladies in order to vie for a catchy prize they couldn't resist in a beauty pageant. Speaking on the success of the movie, he said "I knew people were going to like the movie, but not to the extent it got it. But so many of my colleagues never knew I could do such a movie so they seriously waited to criticize my performance but to God be the glory,  they were disappointed." "I played the role of Jelili in my movie because I wanted fans to know how versatile I am and that there is absolutely no role I cannot interpret.  A trained lawyer, Adebayo, who also bagged a Masters degree in Law, succumbed to the trappings of super-stardom to pursue a career in the Nigerian movie industry. The fame and goodwill notwithstanding, Adebayo still nurses a silent ambition to practice law later.  "Litigation is going nowhere.  I see my time in entertainment as God's calling, so I have to heed to the call. I would definitely go back to law at the end of the day," he notes.  At some point in his career, Adebayo has been faced with very intriguing situations where he has to star alongside his father in several movies.  So, what happens when a script requires him to either slap or beat up his father? "Work is different from family. On the field, we are totally different. We drop being family when we are at work. This is because I see him as a senior colleague (My oga at the top), and whatever we are supposed  to do on set, we do it, and that's theatre. I once had scenes that I acted as an armed robber and went to rob my father, and I had to slap him and also had to do it well without any inhibitions," he says,  laughing. Ever the thorough father that he is, Adebayo says his dad would scold him if he fails to interpret the role accordingly.  "If I don't play the role well, he (my father) will get upset and tell me to slap him well, saying, 'It is your work'." He also debunks rumors that he was quitting acting to go into politics. "Acting came naturally to me. And I am grateful to God for that and that story is not true at all. I am yet to announce whether or not I am going into politics.  If I decide to go it will not be a secret. Wickedness!!! Man Beheads Two Year Old Boy After R*ping his Mother in Ogun State (See Photo) Posted: 18 Apr 2014 03:44 AM PDT     The suspect, identified as ‎Mamodu Bashir Ibrahim, reportedly trailed the woman into the bush where she had gone to ease herself, pounced on her despite the baby tied to her back and dragged both into an uncompleted building. Police believe the man then r*ped the woman and stabbed her. He was also alleged to have severed the boy's head. PMNews reports that someone who smelled foul play, trailed the suspect and his captives into the building. The suspect was said to have initially escaped. The woman was rescued. But the effort came too late for the boy. He was dead and his severed head had been taken away. When he was arrested, the suspect led men from the Criminal Investigation Department, CID of the State Police Command to the scene to locate the head, but it could not be found again. Only the knife with which the suspect perpetrated the act was discovered at the scene. The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP, Olumuyiwa Adejobi said the suspect was arrested through the help of some community leaders, who monitored him after he fled the area to Ibafo, a nearby community, immediately he committed the crime. ‎ Adejobi added that further interrogation of the suspect revealed that he had sold the head of the boy to a woman in Ibadan, adding that the detectives from the State Police Command are on the trail of the buyer. Speaking with journalists at the scene of the crime, which was filled with blood stains, the suspect confirmed he r*ped the woman, killed her son and severed his head which he claimed he threw away into the bush. The Incredible Moment a Killer is Spared Execution after his Victim's Mother Suddenly Forgave Him Posted: 18 Apr 2014 03:32 AM PDT    Here are pictures from the incredible moment a murderer is spared the gallows, just seconds before he is due to be hanged after a dramatic reprieve from his victim's mother. The killer, known as Balal, was sentenced to death for stabbing 18-year-old Abdollah Hosseinzadeh Jnr, during a street fight in the Iranian town of Royan seven years ago. And in a literal application of the sharia law of retribution, known as qisas, the victim's family are allowed to take part in the killer's execution. Blindfolded and with the noose tight around his neck, Balal was due to have the scaffold chair kicked away from under him by his dead victim's parents. But as these compelling pictures show, as Balal prepared to take his last breath, Abdollah's mother instead walked up to him, slapped him around the face and chose to forgive him in an extraordinary act of clemency. Abdollah's parents then removed the noose around Balal's neck to the joy of his own mother who ran over and embraced the grieving woman who let her son walk free. DailyMail reports that the victim's father, Abdolghani Hosseinzadeh, revealed his wife had a change of heart after her dead son appeared to her in a dream. He said: 'Three days ago, my wife saw my elder son in a dream telling her that they are in a good place and for her not to retaliate. This calmed my wife and we decided to think more until the day of the execution.' The father said her actions were even more remarkable because they had already lost a son in a motorbike crash at the age of 11.
