See Posted: 01 Apr 2014 09:41 AM PDT  Yoruba film industry gathered at the Ibadan Civic Centre in Agodi for the third edition of the annual Yoruba Movies Academy Awards (YMAA) on Sunday. Nollywood actor, Saheed Balogun, stormed of the event after he discovered he did not win the 'Best Director' award. He was nominated for the movie 'Alami Ayemi', alongside Abiodun Olanrewaju, Niji Akanni and Kunle Afod but lost to to Akanni who directed the movie 'Aramotu'. Saheed stormed out of the Civic Centre, visibly angry.
Until the announcement of the winner, he had been chatty. | Lagos State University 300 level female student found Dead On the road at Ijesha Lagos (See) Posted: 01 Apr 2014 09:16 AM PDT  A 300 level Economics Student of the Lagos State University, (LASU) Miss Rita Onwuli, has been murdered by unknown persons. Her lifeless body was found near a church at the Odo Olowu Street Ijeshatedo on the Apapa Oshodi Expressway in Lagos. Sources say Rita left home on Tuesday and for three days she couldn't be found. Her bag which contained her personal belonging and her phone was found by her side and that was how people were able to reach out to people who recognized her and promised to come to the scene immediately. There is no clue yet on what really happened to her but it is like a case of murder that took place somewhere. Meet the Fake Alfa that Slits Woman’s Throat For Rituals In Ibadan (See) Posted: 01 Apr 2014 06:52 AM PDT .png) Ms Chiwendu Nkwocha is Very lucky to still be alive after a Muslim cleric, Isa Salaudeen attempted to slit her throat in his apartment in Ibadan. Chinwendu was said to have found herself in the cleric's apartment after her boyfriend took her there for spiritual cleansing. She was tied down and her face covered thinking he was getting her ready for the cleansing, until she felt a sharp object piercing through her throat and she cried out for help. The 'Alfa' would have succeeded, but the knife he took wasn't sharp enough. As he was about changing the knife, the woman made more noise and people broke into his apartment to find her tied down and bleeding. She was rushed to UCH where she is presently receiving treatment and the cleric was instantly arrested. | Posted: 01 Apr 2014 06:13 AM PDT  Erandy Elizabeth Gutierrez (right) ruthlessly murdered her friend Anel Baez after a dispute over some Facebook photos (Picture: CEN) A 16-year-old girl was so outraged after a Facebook dispute with her best friend that she murdered the young girl by stabbing her in the back 65 times. MetroNewsUK reports that Erandy Elizabeth Gutierrez was furious after she received messages that alerted her to the fact that her friend had uploaded na-ked pictures of the pair to the social network. She told her friend, Anel Baez, also 16, that she would be lucky to survive until the end of the year. 'It may seem that I am very calm, but in my head I have killed you at least three times,' Gutierrez wrote to Baez via Twitter.Laughing off Gutierrez's threat that she would 'bury' her 'before the end of the year', the unwitting Baez invited her friend to her home in Guamuchil, Mexico to patch things up. According to local police, Gutierrez asked to use the bathroom but instead went into the kitchen where she found the knife she used to stab her friend over 60 times. A police spokesman explained that after the murder Gutierrez tried to clean the blood from her clothes and the weapon but was unsuccessful. Gutierrez tried to hide her role in the murder after fleeing the scene and even pretended to grieve alongside her other friends. But following police investigations she was eventually arrested at her best friend's funeral – keeping the sinister promise she made to see her buried before the end of the year. TOP STORIES
