I was paid N1,500 After s*x, Police Rescue Under aged Girls From Brothel In Ibadan! [PHOTOS]

Posted: 03 Mar 2014 10:21 AM PST

Detectives from Anti-Human Trafficking section of the State Criminal Investigation Department, Oyo State Police Command stormed Sharp Corner Hotel, Orita Aperin, Ibadan on Wednesday February 26 and rescued four girls being used for prostitution, two of who were discovered to be under-aged. A couple, Mr Temitope and Mrs Helen Falusi, who were running the brothel, were arrested.

Briefing journalists on Friday at the police headquarters at Eleyele, Ibadan, the state Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Indabawa said that the command received information that the woman and her husband were bringing the young girls from Benin, Edo State to her brothel in Ibadan for prostitution.

"Our detectives went to the brothel at about 5p.m. on Wednesday, February 26 and rescued the victims. They confessed that they were being exploited and made to sleep with different men for a fee, out of which they would pay Helen a fee as rent," the commissioner said, adding that though the girls gave ages that were above 18, it was discernible that at least two of the four victims were below 18; with the age of the youngest put at 14 or 15 years.

Speaking with Crime Reports, Mr Falusi (45) from Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State said: "I got married to Helen in 2007 and we have one daughter. She had been running the brothel before I married her but because of the love I have for her, and the fact that I didn't have the wherewithal to change the business, I did not stop her. But I told her to heed the warning of the anti-human trafficking section of the CID that she should not harbour under-aged girls as s*x workers.

"When the two girls said to be under-aged came on Sunday and Monday respectively, I noticed that they were young, so I told her to send them back to Benin. We were to send the girls back on Thursday when detectives came to arrest us on Wednesday evening. I don't run the brothel but I am together with my wife. When the girls come around, they always tell us they are above 18 years."

Edo-born Helen Falusi also stated that "I started the brothel in 2006. I rented the place and I operated a beer parlour along with the brothel. I don't allow under-aged girls because of the warning handed over to me by detectives from State CID. Immediately the girls came and I saw they were young, I made up my mind to send them back to Edo State. They were sent to me by their people.

"I don't collect the money they make from them. All I take is N1000 rent every Monday and if they don't get customers, they beg me to bear with them. They usually know they are coming to 'hustle' because that is the question I always put across to them when they first arrive. They would reply that they are aware of what they are in Ibadan to do. One of them is even a mother of three."

Princess Igbinedion
I was told I am 20 years old and I was given the name 'Osas' when I came to the brothel. My father is dead but my mother is in our village in Edo State. I came to Ibadan on Sunday. Back at the village, I went to a friend's party where I met a young man. He asked if I was interested in travelling to the city and I answered in affirmative.

He never told me I was coming for prostitution; he said the person he would take me to run a beer parlour. When I got to Ibadan on Sunday, February 23 and called the number I was given, someone came to pick me at the motor park. In the evening, I noticed that everyone was putting on skimpy dresses. I was told to go and take my bath and dress up in the skimpy dresses I was given but I did not. I could not even come outside. I slapped a young man who entered my room to have s*x with me.

However, one man eventually slept with me and he gave me N1,500. Aunty Helen had already told me that I would be paying N1000 every Monday as rent fee. She also has a book where she writes what we make.

Favour Nosakhare
I am known as Tina in the brothel. I am 23 years old but I don't know the year I was born. My friend, Jennifer, introduced me to prostitution. She told me there is a brothel where a beer parlour is being operated. I agreed to follow her to Ibadan but after taking me to Aunty Helen's place, she left me and I did not see her again.

Aunty Helen told me to be assisting her to sell beer and I started working as a commercial s*x worker. I was doing the job because I have no father again and there was no money to even pay as apprenticeship fee where I was learning fashion designing. My customers used to pay N1000 for short time and between N1100 and N1500 if I am engaged till day break. We don't allow our customers to have s*x with us without protecting themselves with condom.

The Commissioner of Police said that investigation would continue, after which the girls would be handed over to NAPTIP for rehabilitation.

Legendary actor, Pa Kasumu’s son, Weds... No Nollywood star Was Present at the Wedding! (Photo)

Posted: 03 Mar 2014 06:51 AM PST

Pa Kasumu's son, Olatunde weds

It was apparently a moment of bliss for ailing Yoruba actor, Kayode Odumosu, alias Pa Kasumu, during the traditional wedding of his son, Olatunde Odumosu and Mojisola Adamolekun on Saturday, March 1, at Blessed International School, Aboru, Iyana-Ipaja, Lagos.

The colourful ceremony took place two days after the court wedding on Thursday, February 27, at the Ikoyi Registry, Lagos, a ceremony attended strictly by family members.

The Saturday's traditional wedding, which was relatively elaborate, kicked off at about 1p.m. under a drizzle. The 37-year-old groom, who was dressed in a lace material cut in buba and sokoto with a red cap, was all smiles, while the proceedings lasted. The Ekiti State-born bride, with graceful steps and beatific smiles, complemented the groom in all imaginable way. As the engagement ceremony glided from the introduction, prayers for the couple by their parents, exchange of rings to the cutting of the wedding cake, the two alaga iduro as well the two masters of ceremonies, in their characteristic vivaciousness, added colour and panache to the ceremony. And then, the live band further enlivened the venue with an electrifying performance.

Interestingly, like a sub-drama, several eyes kept stealing a glance at the groom's father at intervals. There was no mistaking the suspicious look on some faces, especially as one of the masters of ceremonies, Ben Cash, repeatedly debunked the death rumour about the respected actor. Unknowingly, he seemed to echo the murmurs in the minds of some anxious guests who wanted to know whether the various media reports about Pa Kasumu's ill health had been sensationalised or not in anyway. But it was obvious for all to see: wobbly steps, almost inaudible voice and occasional blank look. Nevertheless, the actor, who donned a blue agbada with a pair of matching shoes and an ash-coloured cap, dutiful played his fatherly role on the occasion to the admiration of all, thereby rubbishing the claim that he is already in a vegetative state.

Interestingly, in the midst of the ceremony, many wondered why Pa Kasumu's colleagues in the movie industry were conspicuously absent to share in his joy. The pertinent question asked in hushed tone was: where are the stars? Even when Pa Kasumu was dancing, though not energetically, with the couple, he was only supported by family members, while he 'sprayed' the excited couple with some crisp notes. In the opinions of some, it could only be proof of a frosty relationship between him and his colleagues.

However, some hours after the ceremony, the actor, in a telephone interview with The Nation, gave a hint on why his colleagues were not in attendance. Contrary to the insinuation in some quarters, Pa Kasumu, who initially expressed shock that our correspondent got wind of the event in spite of the strategic plans to shut out media coverage, said, "I actually didn't invite them because my son didn't want any publicity. Although I invited Iya Rainbow, Iya Awero, Jide Kosoko and Ngozi Nwosu, none of them could make it. Ngozu later called me in the evening that she was held up in traffic around Iyana Ipaja, so I told her not to bother because it was almost over. Iya Rainbow couldn't come for reasons I won't like to disclose, but neither Jide Kosoko nor Iya Awero called me to explain why they didn't come. The truth is, if they had come, my son wouldn't have been happy with me because he would know that I invited them. Really, their presence would have generated some publicity, which might have angered him. So, he wanted a low-key ceremony."

When asked to clarify the rumour that the bulk of the money donated towards his treatment went into the planning of the wedding of his first son, he raised his voice, saying, "Anyone who said that must be stupid! My son is gainfully employed and I am sure you saw some of his expatriate bosses at the event. So, why won't he be able to sponsor his wedding? It was a thing of joy to me, and that was why I danced excitedly. Oh, I love to dance! If not that I was weak, you would have been pleasantly surprised."

War in Borno; Boko Haram in fierce resistance..destroys village, kills Over 40! [PHOTOS]

Posted: 03 Mar 2014 06:29 AM PST

People look at the wreckage of a car, yesterday, after two explosions killed over 35 people in a crowded neighbourhood in Maiduguri, Borno State, weekend. Photo: AFP.

The military, yesterday, confirmed that it is currently engaged in a fierce battle with Boko Haram insurgents who have been unleashing terror in the North Eastern part of the country. The Defence Headquarters admitted that it lost soldiers in the encounters while some terrorists were also killed.

This was against the backdrop of revelations that the troops were finding it difficult to check  activities of the terrorists because of the sophistication of the sect members among other factors.

In a statement issued, yesterday, by the Director of Defence Information, Major General Chris Olukolade, the Defence Headquarters said that civilians had been evacuated from the battle ground before commencing the operation.

According to the statement, "the air operations to clear terrorists bases sited in Daggu and Yazza  areas of Borno State during the weekend have registered the expected results in the ongoing campaign against terror.  The mopping up operation by ground forces after air assault has confirmed the death of several terrorists located in the bases.  Civilians had earlier been evacuated from the vicinity of the identified terrorist enclaves in line with operation orders before the air and land assaults.  Extensive cordon and search of the entire locality is ongoing with a view to apprehending the wounded and other members of the terrorists group who might still be trying to flee.

Fierce encounter

"Also yesterday, troops in pursuit of those who carried out attack in Buni Yadi last week, had fierce encounter with the terrorists around Mainok and other locations between Apa and Abulum in Borno State.  The air and land operations that ensued recorded the death of some terrorists. Soldiers also died in the encounters".

The statement added that, "suspects who are believed to have been responsible for detonating the bomb that exploded at Bintu Sugar Ngamari area of Maiduguri yesterday (Saturday) killing many citizens and wounding several others have been arrested and are helping in the ongoing investigation on the incident.  Patrols are continuing on land and air in the entire mission area in North East towards apprehending or eliminating the rampaging terrorists in the area".

The Defence Headquarters dismissed as untrue the reports claiming that civilians were mistakenly killed in the air operations in some parts of the mission area, as the claim could not be confirmed after the mopping up aspect of the operation.

It reaffirmed its directive that necessary care should continue to be taken to ensure safety of innocent Nigerians in the operational areas notwithstanding the fierceness of the encounters.

Meanwhile, authoritative security sources disclosed to Vanguard at the weekend why Boko Haram members have been carrying out their killing campaign in the North East seemingly without molestation.

The source said that a combination of many things have made the activities of the sect difficult to check.

Scenes of Maiduguri twin bombing blasts ... on Sunday.
The source who is with one of the security agencies based in the North East told us that as things stand, the security agencies in the North East cannot cope with the sophistication and the battle hardiness of the sect members. "Have you asked yourself why these guys strike at night?  The reason they attack at night is because they know that our soldiers cannot cope. For instance, the sect members wear night vision goggles and ride in a convoy of brand new Hilux vehicles. They see what our soldiers cannot see at night. With their sophisticated weaponry and their combat hardiness it is no wonder they operate freely at night. Do our soldiers have night combat gears? I do not think so.

TESTED & PROVED! 5 Powerful Exercises To Increase Your Mental Strength!

Posted: 03 Mar 2014 06:08 AM PST

Psychology often discusses mental health — but what's not often discussed is a clear definition of mental strength. To me, mental strength means that you regulate your emotions, manage your thoughts, and behave in a positive manner, despite your circumstances. Developing mental strength is about finding the courage to live according to your values and being bold enough to create your own definition of success.

Mental strength involves more than just willpower; it requires hard work and commitment. It's about establishing healthy habits and choosing to devote your time and energy to self-improvement.
Although it's easier to feel mentally strong when life seems simple — often, true mental strength becomes most apparent in the midst of tragedy. Choosing to develop skills that increase your mental strength is the best way to prepare for life's inevitable obstacles.

Many exercises exist that can help you develop mental strength. But here are five that can get you started:

1. Evaluate Your Core Beliefs

We've all developed core beliefs about ourselves, our lives and the world in general. Core beliefs develop over time and largely depend upon our past experiences. Whether you're aware of your core beliefs or not, they influence your thoughts, your behavior and emotions.

Sometimes, core beliefs are inaccurate and unproductive. For example, if you believe that you'll never succeed in life, you may be less apt to apply for new jobs — and inadvertently, you may not present yourself well on job interviews. Therefore, your core beliefs may become a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Identify and evaluate your core beliefs. Look for beliefs that are black and white, and then find exceptions to the rule. Very few things in life are "always" or "never" true. Modifying core beliefs requires purposeful intention and hard work, but it can change the entire course of your life.

2. Expend Your Mental Energy Wisely

Wasting brain power ruminating about things you can't control drains mental energy quickly. The more you think about negative problems that you can't solve, the less energy you'll have leftover for creative endeavors. For example, sitting and worrying about the weather forecast isn't helpful. If a major storm is headed your way, worrying about it won't prevent it. You can, however, choose to prepare for it. Focus on what is only within your control.

Save your mental energy for productive tasks, such as solving problems or setting goals. When your thoughts aren't productive, make a conscious effort to shift your mental energy to more helpful topics. The more you practice expending your mental energy wisely, the more it will become a habit.

3. Replace Negative Thoughts with Productive Thoughts

Although most of us don't spend time thinking about our thoughts, increasing your awareness of your thinking habits proves useful in building resilience. Exaggerated, negative thoughts, such as, "I can't ever do anything right," hold you back from reaching your full potential. Catch your negative thoughts before they spiral out of control and influence your behavior.

Identify and replace overly negative thoughts with thoughts that are more productive. Productive thoughts don't need to be extremely positive, but should be realistic. A more balanced thought may be, "I have some weaknesses, but I also have plenty of strengths." Changing your thoughts requires constant monitoring, but the process can be instrumental in helping you become your best self.

4. Practice Tolerating Discomfort

Being mentally strong doesn't mean you don't experience emotions. In fact, mental strength requires you to become acutely aware of your emotions so you can make the best choice about how to respond. Mental strength is about accepting your feelings without being controlled by them.

Mental strength also involves an understanding of when it makes sense to behave contrary to your emotions. For example, if you experience anxiety that prevents you from trying new things or accepting new opportunities, try stepping out of your comfort zone if you want to continue to challenge yourself. Tolerating uncomfortable emotions takes practice, but it becomes easier as your confidence grows.

Practice behaving like the person you'd like to become. Instead of saying, "I wish I could be more outgoing," choose to behave in a more outgoing manner, whether you feel like it or not. Some discomfort is often necessary for greater gain, and tolerating that discomfort will help make your vision a reality, one small step at a time.

5. Reflect on Your Progress Daily

Today's busy world doesn't lend itself to making much time available for quiet reflection. Create time to reflect upon your progress toward developing mental strength. At the end of each day, ask yourself what you've learned about your thoughts, emotions and behavior. Consider what you hope to improve upon or accomplish tomorrow.

Developing mental strength is a work in progress. There is always room for improvement, and at times this will seem more difficult than at other times. Reflecting upon your progress can reinforce your ability to reach your definition of success while living according to your values.

UNBELIEVABLE! Ugandan President’s Daughter Reveals She Is Gay! [PHOTOS]

Posted: 03 Mar 2014 05:13 AM PST

In a startling revelation, the daughter of Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni admitted today during a radio talk show in Mbarara, in Western Uganda that she is homos*xual, and that she is revealing this fact as a protest to the anti-gay law her father signed only a few days ago.

Diana Kamuntu, Museveni's daughter said that though she loves her father unconditionally, she does not agree with Uganda's anti-gay stance, and will fight against it.

"I am gay, I am homos*xual. I have known this since I was a little girl. Also, I have been Christian all of my life, so I will not tolerate any law of this supposedly democratic nation, that will place hate on any person just because of what his or her s*xual orientation happens to be," said Kamuntu.

"Now that I finally revealed my s*xual orientation, I put myself in front of this new law and I will let our people decide what to do with me," Kamuntu adds, as her voice breaks down while on air.

The radio host, James Kasirivu noticeably was in shock, and could not seemingly get words out of his mouth.
The live radio broadcast was abruptly shortened and was put off air after a few hours of repeated commercials.

In the latest setback for homos*xuals across Africa, the Ugandan President signed a law Monday that imposes tough penalties for homos*xual acts, a move that has been condemned from around the world and that may jeopardize Uganda's relationship with the United States and other Western nations.

Wickedness! Brothers kill brother over their father's house in Lagos (WARNING GRAPHIC PHOTOS)

Posted: 03 Mar 2014 01:37 AM PST

3 brothers in Satellite Town, Fatia, Sakiru and Tunji Osun, have killed their brother, Yusuf, over the house that their father left when he died.
TelegraphNG reports
Three brothers have been arrested by the police in connection with the murder of their blood brother. Fatia Osun (31), Sakiru Osun (20) and their step-brother, Tunji (34), were accused of killing Yusuf Osun (27) over N15 million which was to be realized from the sale of a house left behind by their late father.

The incident occurred in the early hours of Thursday, Feb. 27, at Kano street in Mobile Estate, Satellite Town, Lagos and left residents of the estate and its environs jittery.
Fatia Osun, who is a Muslim cleric and is popularly known and referred to as an "Alfa", is alleged to have connived with his younger brother Sakiru, to kill Yusuf so that they would share the entire amount. The late Yusuf Osun was strangled with a 2.5mm wire by Fatia while his other brothers stabbed him.

After the murder, the half brother of the perpetrators and the deceased, Tunji, sent a text message to a neighbour, telling him that Yusuf had passed away. He informed the neighbour that Yusuf had gotten drunk, slipped in the bathroom and hit his head.

However, his story was suspect because Yusuf was a known teetotaller,  and suspicious neighbours came to the house and found Yusuf's body with all the wounds. They alleged that Tunji assisted his brothers in moving Yusuf's body to the bathroom and cleaning out the sitting room, where the incident had occurred.

At this point, the crowd turned into a mob, and beat up the brothers before informing the police who promptly arrested the brothers.

The genesis
According to neighbours, their late father had willed the house to Yusuf because of long lasting disagreements that he had with Fatia, the eldest over his lifestyle. But, said neighbours also claimed that the men's father failed to leave a written will behind.

After the death of their parents, Alfa proposed the sale of the house to his brothers but the late Yusuf objected to the sale of the property which was valued at
N15 million. Yusuf instead suggested that they rent the house out and move to the boys-quarters because to him, the house was their only hope for long term survival.

His refusal led to a disagreement between with his brothers, which resulted in a bloody fight. It was alleged that in that fighting, his brother, Fatia, stabbed him six times. Yusuf however survived this fight and was admitted to hospital where he recovered after spending almost 3 weeks.

Upon his release from the hospital, Yusuf apparently accepted to sell the house and divide the money as his brothers wanted, so the house was put up for sale. Eventually, a buyer showed interest and offered
N15 million.

Upon reaching an agreement with the prospective buyer, the eldest, Fatia, informed his brothers that he was entitled to
N10 million of the money, while they would have to make do with
N5 million amongst themselves.

The neighbours said that Yusuf had the previous night asked people to lend him N1,000 to go out since he wasn't comfortable sleeping in their home.

Neighbours react
When a TelegraphNG correspondent visited the neighbourhood, the residents were all still in shock.
A neighbour who pleaded anonymity, said he was surprised that Alfa could carry out such a dastardly act adding that she never imagined that such a thing will happen in their estate.
"That means, his going to mosque and the whole Alfa thing is all camouflage, we all need to be wary about people around us, how can someone be so inhuman and callous to kill another person not to talk of killing his own brother over worldly things".

A neighbour, Yinka Adewale, said one of the accused and the most senior (Fatia) was also responsible for the death of their late father.
"His plan was to sell the house long time ago, the death of his brother is not surprising to me because his father died mysteriously, so did his mother. He was taking out all those that seemed like a stumbling block to him," Yinka said.
"Something of this nature has never happened nor heard of within this vicinity, Mobile Estate is a peace place to live. Its a sad event, I don't even want to talk about it again. Its just so painful" another resident lament.

Confession
During interrogation, Sakiru, one of the accused who is also the youngest in the family, said his elder brother promised to send him abroad so he can have a good life if he took part in eliminating their brother, Yusuf.

Investigations are currently ongoing at the Area E command Police station, Lagos and will be transferred to the Panti police station Yaba for further investigation.
