Osun State Governor Goes Spiritual For Re-election And Peace! [PHOTO]

Governor of the State of Osun, Rauf Aregbesola, and other members of the Executive Council have joined the Celestial Church of Christ (CCC) Worldwide to offer prayers for peace and stability in the state, and Nigeria at large.

This was deemed necessary particularly at a period when the state governorship election is fast approaching.

The vigil, which held at the Nelson Mandela Freedom Park in Osogbo, the state capital, saw thousands of Christians and Muslims from the South-West states converging to pray for peace in troubled parts of the country.

In what looked more like a revival service, several members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) also joined in the gathering where they not only prayed for continued peace and progress of the state, but also for the re-election of Governor Rauf Aregbesola for a second term in office.

Governor Aregbesola, while speaking on the significance of the programme, said that religion could best be described as love, peaceful co-existence, tolerance and harmony without rancour.

The all night prayer session which lasted from 10pm till dawn, with various artistes drew the presence of a large congregation from virtually all the Yoruba speaking states in Nigeria.

Since the early 90's, Bisade "Lagbaja" Ologunde has managed to keep his face well hidden behind a mask.
According to Lagbaja, his mask is used as an icon of man's facelessness. Lagbaja is a Yoruba word that means "nobody in particular". It depicts the anonymity of the so-called "common man". The mask and the name symbolise the faceless, the voiceless in the society, particularly in Africa.
But it seems we all have our curiousity chilled up as a picture alleged to be Lagbaja's with his face left unmaked leaked on the Internet recently.
 

NigerianEye gathered that On Saturday, September 29 Lagbaja's Omole Estate, Lagos home was visited by men of the underworld and valuables worth millions of naira was carted away in the process, perhaps, pictures showing his face too?
So far, the afrobeat singer who is in far away United States has not confirmed if the face is actually his or if he is the one that made the picture public or mandated someone to do so on his behalf.

It is however hard to ignore the striking similarities between this face and the masked one especially the lips, eyes and shape of chin.

Ace Nollywood Yemi Solade finally speaks on Why he doesn't wear his wedding ring + his stubborn female fans!

Yoruba Movie star, Yemi Solade in a recent interview with Tribune, disclosed that many of his female fans are stubborn, "they want to get close, forgetting that I am a family man. "
The actor who was once rumored to be s*xually involved with a certain lady and sending her nude photos, further cleared the air on the rumour saying
"A few of them have scandalised me, even online; they have posted some nasty things about me, which are not true. There was one lady who was getting familiar with me on the phone. I lashed at her, she then started calling me names. So I went on Facebook to tell my colleagues to beware of these names. She then thought she could deal with me, so she paid someone to write that I was sending nude pictures to her.

There was also another National Youths Service Corps member who wanted to get close to me and asked me to take her out for an event. I asked her to go on her own and then she got rude and started saying that I cursed her, and said she would die. I was not happy about it, because this was a young lady, a corps member at that. I did my Nysc almost 30 years ago. She also added the s*x issue. I just felt she wanted to be popular and now she is popular like Genevieve. Congrats to her."

When asked to tell who the real "Yemi Soluade" is, he said "I am very down to earth. I am an indoor person. I love to be on my own. Even within the family unit, I love to be on my own. I have a sense of humour. Sometimes it could be reckless, but I am moderate. I love to project my culture, though I am not a tribalist. I like to dress and act like a Yoruba man, because it gives me inner peace to act like that which is mine.

I am a pan-Africanist; I believe in Kwame Nkrumah's philosophy, which promotes Negritudism; that which shows I am a true African. I am also very Afro-centric. I love to eat my African meal, dip my hand into a plate of fufu and gbegiri (soup made from beans) with goat meat and shaki (offal) in the buka (local canteen), which also makes me a bukatarian. Anywhere I am in the world, I look for bukas to eat because, if I eat anything other than African foods, I will probably die. I think other Chinese cuisines are poisonous, because even when you enter a Chinese restaurant, for instance what they write on their menu list you cannot read. I socialise averagely, especially when I am with my homies and friends (non-actors).

On why he doesn't wear his wedding ring?

It's bondage. I am a free person. When I want to sleep, I sleep like Adam. I like my skin to be free all the time.

Can you tell me some of the negative things you have read about yourself in the media?

There was one that they listed celebrities whose marriages had crashed and my own caption was 'Yemi Solade opens up on his three failed marriages'.

Are you saying there were no failed marriages?

Only one. I was married to my first wife and she said she wasn't ready to live in Nigeria anymore, and she left. We could not cope with distance and then broke it up. I have been married to my present wife for over a decade, so what are we talking about? I never granted an interview to the journalist that wrote that about me. I had all it took to make him pay for what he did, but because it wasn't a story about me doing drugs or rituals, I allowed the sleeping dog to lie.

As a matter of fact, Nollywood comprises of theatre practitioners or to say artistes performs with English language and those that performs with Igbo, Hausa and notably Yoruba languages.

Without any fear of contradictions, Nollywood is an organization that is being blessed with many talented artistes, but the organization is also being populated with many pretty ladies and handsome guys. Honestly, among the beautiful ladies of Nollywood, is one young lady known as Omotola Ekeinde, popularly know as Omosexy. Although Nollywood may not have a king, but I want to say that Omotola deserves the position of Queen of Nollywood.

Truly speaking, the like of Joke Silva, Peju Ogunmola, Ngozi Ezeonu, Taiwo Hassan, Idowu Phillip, Rachael Oniga, Fiberesima, Genevive Nnaji etc. have contributed enormously to the growth of Nollywood.

But, I strongly believe that, Omotola should be crowned the Queen of Nollywood, not only because she is beautiful, after all we have many beautiful ladies in Nollywood. For instance, Uche Iwuji, Fiberesima ,Nkiru Sylvanus , Moji Olaiya, Mercy Johnson, Chioma Akpotha, Hibert Queenet, Sola Kosoko, Laide Bakare, Buky Wright, Danjuma Caroline, Monalisa Chinda , Ini Edo, Chika Ike, Eucharia Anuobi, Shan George, Nnena Yinka, Mercy Aigbe etc

But as far as am concerned, Omotola is the most beautiful. Omotola is angelic, magnetic, seductive, and extra ordinarily charming, extremely elegant, delectable, captivating, gorgeous and sophisticated. Honestly, to every sane person, Omotola is a flower of adoration and highly irresistible. Omotola is not just pretty, but she is a paradigm of beauty and embodiments of good looking. Her beauty is paragon, natural and unique; her stature is amazing and uncommon. She is a toast of every eye, and her look is a dream of every man.

Omotola, among her contemporary in Nollywood, she stands tall and raises her shoulder high, she is like a peacock in the midst of birds, a zebra among animals, a moon amongst the stars, and a star in the galaxy.

Omotola is like a precious pearl, a priceless diamond, brightening like a moon, and shinning like a star. Omotola was in shoulder to shoulder with female giants, like Oprah Winfrey, Maria Bashir- a legal giant, who in 2010 handled 87 cases on behalf of Afghanistan's victim of domestic abuses. Dilma Rousseff the president of Brazil, Angela Markel- German chancellor since year 2005, Cecile Richard- former U. S deputy chief of staff and a leading voice for change, in radical attack on women's health and reproductive freedom, Michelle Rhee- a former chancellor of Washington D. C and an advocate for school reforms. Aruna Roy an Indian leading voice for social justice. Michelle Obama, a lawyer and U. S incumbent first lady etc.

To be frank, if all the said assertion, are not enough to qualify Omotola as the queen of Nollywood. It's expedient to remind her critics or opponents for the position, that Omotola is one of the few, that combining music with drama and doing both competently. She has been invited more than once to play in international stage.

But to me, what gives Omotola final lead, is the matrimonial harmony and stability she has been enjoying since she got married to her heartthrob Captain Ekeinde . Lest we forget, most of the beautiful actresses in Nollywood are divorcee, some with many kids from different fathers, many did not even spent up to five years in their matrimonial home, before they received red card from their husband. Whereas Omotola had spent more than 18 years in her matrimonial home, gave birth to four kids and still counting years, as if she has just stated living therein.

Honestly, apart from marital stability and harmony that is reigning supreme between Omotola and her hubby. Omotola has maintained an absolute fidelity and total devotion to the union. She has subdued uncountable temptations that wanted to distract her from the path of honor and dignity, despite that those agents of such temptations are men of timber and caliber, men of mover and shaker, men from the top, men of affluence and men from the corridor of power

In fact, if there is an organization that combine Gollywood and Nollywood . Omotola, without any hesitation should be crowned their Queen, a woman like Omotola is rare, a lady of her caliber in Nollywood is uncommon. Blessed be to the womb that carried her, envious and kudos goes to the man that have her, I hail the family that produced her, and indescribable luck goes to those children for having a virtuous woman and a jewel of inestimable quality that beyond market value like her, as their mother.

Senator injured as Police Fire Rubber bullets And Teargas Him In Rivers State! [PHOTOS]

A Nigeria Senator from Rivers State was today shot at point blank range with rubber bullets during a rally in Port Harcourt.

Policemen in the state tried disrupting a scheduled opposition rally in the city's College of Arts and Science by teargassing those in attendance and residents in the area. 
 
Senator Magnus Abe was reportedly shot at with rubber bullets on his chest after he appeared on the scene to inquire from the police team the reason they disrupted the early morning rally. The Senator claimed the order to shoot him was given by the Joseph Mbu, the controversial police commissioner of Rivers state


 
The Senator is currently in hospital receiving treatment in an undisclosed hospital in Port Harcourt.

SAD NEWS! US Declares 16 States In Nigeria Unsafe!

The United States has revised its travel alert on Nigeria, warning its citizens against travelling to 16 states in the country.

The latest alert, includes the three north eastern states that have been under emergency rule after a presidential declaration on May 14, 2013.

Released on January 8 by the State Department, the US appealed to its citizens to avoid all, but essential travels to Adamawa, Bauchi, Bayelsa, Borno, Delta, Gombe and Jigawa states.

The other states on the list, which the alert said are prone to kidnappings, robberies and other armed attacks are Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Kebbi, Niger, Plateau, Sokoto, Yobe, and Zamfara.

Abia, Akwa Ibom, Edo, Imo and Rivers states, which were in an earlier list issued in June, 2013 are not on the latest travel list.

The world power described the security situation in Nigeria as "fluid and unpredictable,'' and also warned against travel to the Gulf of Guinea because of the threat of piracy.

The country urged its citizens to be particularly vigilant around "government security facilities, places of worship and locations where large crowds may gather''.

"Security measures in Nigeria remain heightened due to threats posed by extremist groups.

"Boko Haram, an extremist group based in northeast Nigeria designated as a Foreign Terrorist organisation by the Department of State, has claimed responsibility for many attacks, mainly in northern Nigeria,'' the statement read.

According to the State Department, the Ansaru group, an offshoot of Boko Haram, has carried out several kidnappings, targeting foreigners in Nigeria.

It noted that the group also claimed responsibility of other violent acts in the past years.
