Sad loss: Fresh Prince of Bel Air star James Avery has died aged 65

James Avery, the beloved dad on "Fresh Prince of Bel Air" has died at age 65. He died in an L.A. hospital last night. Avery had recently undergone surgery for an undisclosed illness and took a turn for the worse late yesterday. 
Alfonso Ribeiro who played his son on Tv, announced his death on Facebook. Avery has starred in TV shows like "Grey's Anatomy," "The Closer," "L.A. Law," and "The Jeffersons." 
May his soul rest in peace..

Renowned Nigerian Prophet T.B. Joshua has declared 2014 as a year of 'crossing the bridge', prophesying it to be a year of destiny where corruption would be corrected in Nigeria as corrupt leaders would go down.
It was an electric atmosphere in The Synagogue Church Of All Nations (SCOAN) where large crowds thronged to usher in the New Year 2014. T.B. Joshua came out around 11pm to deliver his much anticipated prophetic message in a broadcast beamed live via the churches popular television station Emmanuel TV.
He first counseled believers to stay steadfast in faith despite the challenges that would arise in the coming year. "We are tempted so that we may pray the more. Afflictions are meant for our spiritual benefit," he encouraged the congregants and television viewers.  
Moving on, he spoke about what was to be expected in the New Year, attendees listening with rapt attention and scribbling notes as he spoke. "This New Year 2014 is not like any other year in the past. It is a year of crossing bridge. To cross the bridge, you need to grab onto faith," he began. "This is not going to be easy for the mighty. Many of the mighty will fall. Pray for them. The rich, famous and popular people – many will fall this 2014 because crossing the bridge is not going to be easy; they need God. Many of them believe it is their own making to be great in their own area of expertise."
He went on to decry the effect this 'fall' would have on the business world as, according to him, "98% of businesses and companies are owned by these people." Specifying a field of business that would especially be affected, he said the airline industry would face multiple challenges, leading to an unprecedented rise in ticket prices, particularly noting that African airlines would be most affected.  Joshua further declared 2014 to be a year of destiny for those would 'follow the ways of the Lord'. "Many people that are not known will be rise by destiny," he prophesied.
Talking about the current Nigerian political situation, Joshua said, "There will be a leadership tussle on who will lead and who will be presidential candidate in APC which will affect them as a political party. They should be vigilant. Many are with them in flesh but not with them in spirit." Talking about the current crisis Nigeria's ruling party PDP are embroiled in, the prophet stated that they would 'pay any price to unite' but that the issue of who would be the presidential candidate would cause challenges.
"Many of the key leaders in political parties will go down in 2014," Joshua then announced to the somber audience. "If many key leaders go down with 2014, what will now happen in 2015? Pray for 2015 to be fulfilled. The beginner is not the owner but the finisher."
He then stated to thunderous applause that 2014 would see a positive improvement for the nation in the area of corruption. "What will happen in 2014 will result in the correction of the corruption in Nigeria because many corrupt leaders will go down in 2014."
Joshua then prayed for the congregants who all lit candles to symbolize the dawn of the New Year. "God has promised that 2014 is the year of destiny. Your destiny cannot be changed. This New Year, your destiny cannot be tampered with. I command your dream to come true, your dream to come to fulfillment, in Jesus' name."

When i decided to worship at Kris Okotie's Household of God on (Sunday 29th December 2013),i knew i was going to have a lifetime experience. I have heard so much about my namesake and his exploit that i was so eager to visit his sanctuary today. For those of you who do not know, Household of God is situated along Oregun road Ikeja Lagos.

Kris Okotie owns all the land and buildings on that street .His Church shares the same fence with Chris Oyakhilome's Christ Embassy Headquarters.

 Arriving Church was easy.. I made my way into the Church after the normal searching at the gate. The first thing that will hit you, were the bouncers, whose chest were as huge as bags of cement, even the devil in his wisdom dare not make a move near that Church at this time.

 The inside speaks of the taste of the man, sparkling, well decorated to taste.

 Parked outside was not his new Rolls Royce but another Mercedes Benz Limousine with customized plate number.

 As it is customary, my seat must be beside a fine babe. Kai, they were not in short supply at Household. Infact this Church has the highest concentration of fine babes that i have ever seen in any Church.

 Kris Okotie must have selected them himself. The organizers of Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria will envy what i saw today.

 Kris Okotie can successfully organize ten good pageants with what he has in that Church.He even said ,they accuse him of marrying fair babes.

 See shape,tall,short,dark,fair,half caste see catwalk, see stepping, see mini skirts, see fine steps, see clean smooth skins. See nails,i say come see cloth. Brazillian hair,no be that type wey all those Lagos babes dey do under Ikeja bridge.

 It was like a competition.

 Abeg if you no get designer clothes ,shoes, bags etc no come Household, because, dem go think say you be steward or waitress.

 After taking my seat, beside my lovely damsel,i quickly adjusted my lens and snap some pictures while people were settling down.

 Within minutes,a very huge guy that will make Hulk Horgan look like a baby wrestler walked up to me asking me to follow him.

 My heart sank,wetin i do now..who i offend,who send me make i come Kris Okotie's Church..Na today i go see wetin my eyes dey look for.

 I asked my latest catch to kindly look after my seat while i followed the guy outside

On getting there,i was shocked by what the Chief bouncer said.."CKN ,we know you. We ve monitored you since you entered this Church. We don't allow any camera work or taking of pictures in this Church or premises.. Please let me see the pictures you just snapped ,because our CCTV camera caught you taking pictures"..Who wan argue with this kin person..i opened my folder and showed him the singular picture on the folder..He asked me to delete it..which i did..His next words,"As i said CKN ,we like your job and what you are doing, just relax and have a nice service with us at Household, God bless,you can go back in but no more pictures please"

I was relieved, from that moment, i just respected Kris Okotie and his security agents, these guys were not being paid for nothing.

 On resuming my seat,my concentration now focused on the Service of songs which was being led by a lady..it lasted for close to an hour before the man of the moment finally came in, ushered in and surrounded by six huge bouncers,the type that will make Goodluck jonathan's guys look like kindergatens.

 He made straight for the pulpit.Three of the bouncers took their positions in front of the alter, just like you saw in that picture that was in circulation last week.

 Okotie looks more like a pop star than a pastor.He has not changed one bit from what i saw of him about ten years ago..His jerry curled hair was shinning.He wore a golden colour Jacket with black patches over a black trouser.You will mistake him for one of those Hollywood actors.

 Immediately he picked the mic,he went into solo songs..Okotie does not have a choir or back up singers. He is the Choir,Choir master and chorister all put in one.His is the only Church i have visited that does not have a choir.

 He was moving from one song to another, for over one hour he didn't stop.

 I was forced to ask the babe beside me,if it was a service or Song festival. She didnt even bother to answer me, all she was saying was give it to me,give it to me Pastor,i can feel it ,give it to me as she sang along..Haaa,give it to you.give you what i asked..

 She took a long look at me and continued in her frenzy,i say give it to me my pastor.Oti o.

 This is another level,since i didnt want to be left behind,as Okotie was singing i joined her in saying,Give it to us,give it to us pastor,give it to us oooooo.biko give us,give her,give me too lalalalalala.

 The lady suddenly stopped and pinched my hand .Keep quiet,you are not singing like someone that is in the spirit she told me.I asked her what she meant,after all i just wanted pastor Kris to give it to us and you are asking me to keep quiet.

 Please give it to you us, infact kill us Pastor i continued

 By now she had kept quiet and was watching me.

 The whole church was in a frenzy,estatic ,singing and dancing.all dance steps were on display,skelewu,konkon below,kukere,name it,even apala dance join.ewooooo

 Some were jumping up and down like people possessed by spirit. Some were even running from one end of the auditorium to another.

 The beautiful ones that occupied all the front rows,stood up and were dancing close to the alter,as if to say Man Of God,we are still available o.

 But Kris Okotie must have been used to it because, he no even look their side. He was singing in languages that i never understood.

 I even saw a popular actress among them

 After over an hour of singing,Okotie now prayed for two nations,Nigeria and Israel (why Isreal,i don't know) but i heard those were the two countries he prays for weekly.

 After the prayer which lasted for about five minutes, he entered gear two,he kpet on sining,singing,singing and sing.

 Haba,which kain Church be this nah,no wonder all these people are trooping here,they came to see Okotie perform every week, definitely not his preaching.

 After he must have satisfied himself, he now settle down to speak on the birth of Jesus Chris and the three wisemen that came to visit Joseph and Mary.

 It's was easier to understand Patrick Obhiagbon and Wole Soyinka than listening to kris..At a point i i asked the babe beside me what Kris just said,she said she didnt know,i then asked how,how come you were shouting Praise the Lord.

 She told me that i just have to accept what he is saying with open minds without questioning.na him i tell am say ok,i hear.

 The average age at the Church was 40 years.

 Kris Okotie has die-hard converts who from all indications are ready to do anything for him. he is to them,a role model of a sort.

 The babes are well polished. Not the type you see at most of these orthodox churches like Anglican and Roman Catholic.

 Okotie went on to say, Love without Money is not complete.

 According to him, shower a woman with money and see how she ll cherish you for life.To him,love is not enough.it must be backed with money and big time gifts. According to him,that is why he buys the latest expensive cars.

 When i asked the babe beside me who don dey already squeeze my hand whether she believe that, she said ofcourse,i can't go out with a guy that cannot take care of my needs. Who is not ready to change my car every other year

 With that i kuku gradually remove my hand, before the girl go collect my car key and i come take leg waka go house.

 She asked me if anything was wrong i told her no, that i was just feeling dizzy and would need some fresh air outside.

 To add to my stress, Kris Okotie now shared free birthday cakes for people born in different months of 2014 (yap 2014).

 He only shared it among ladies; no single guy was allowed to pick a cake.

 He also conducted quiz among us, he only allowed women to answer the quiz and each of them were given cakes and gifts.

 Of the over 20 gifts Kris Okotie gave away today,no single man or guy was given any.

 He said his gifts were ONLY for women.

 At that point, i knew i have over stayed my welcome. I told the babe that i wanted to go and take some fresh air outside; from there i disappeared and drove off.

 It's obvious that Kris Okotie and his babes still have a lot in common.
 If you need fine babes,go to Household..If you need superlative Music,Kris Okotie will give you several doses, but if you need serious preaching, i doubt if Pastor Kris Okotie will be my first Church,maybe because of the big big grammar and effizy.

'I never knew I would become a musician' – Omawumi Tells it all In New Interview!

Omawumi Megbele launched into the industry  after being pronounced first runner up in the 2007 edition of  the West African Idols. In this interview with Tribune she talks about her private life and musical career.

Where would you say you got your voice from?

I really don't know. I have always been singing. I got a lot of influence from growing up in a large house, so I found myself always singing and entertaining them.

While growing up, did you have an inkling that you would get to this stage?
I did not even know I was going to be a musician.

What were you then thinking of becoming?
I wanted to be a teacher, but I never knew music was going to be a major career for me. I thought it was going to be a pastime. I did not think for one second that it would be my means of livelihood.

You released your album Lasso of truth at the middle of the year. What was the reception like?
Well, I am awed at the response I have gotten. I did not expect the kind of overwhelming response I got from my fans. Every music lover has a song in that album that they can identify with. Just yesterday, I heard someone singing a song that I felt was not popular and I felt really good. It just gives me the desire to do more.

You also had four major deals this year....
This year has definitely been a good year. I believe that God has a hand in everything. Even the Bible says that faith without works is dead.
We put in a lot of work in 2012 and it even shocked me, I did not expect it. The first one that came was Mortein. I felt so good about that; it wasn't just an endorsement. I had something to do, and that was to give back as a mother, which was really reassuring as it exposed me to a lot of opportunities of reaching out to people. It made me to really understand what was happening as I had to really study hard and read about malaria and moreso, because it is a family brand.
Glo is also the only indigenous telecommunications company that shows it is proudly Nigerian,  and also Konga.com which is also an indigenous company that is trying to do something new and different. It's not just about the money coming in. No be say money dey like that o; no go talk say money dey o, you know say I no be like all those people wey dey shout money money. I just know say I dey endorse brand. It's about being associated with brands that had made impacts on the lives of people. It shows the way I have been perceived or identified and I really feel honoured about it.

Coming up as a female in the music industry back then, what were your challenges?
I really don't dwell on challenges. What you identify as challenges, I identify as a means to an end. I am an optimistic person; I believe in seeing the good out of every situation. If you put iron for fire and burn am, na there e go take shape. I don't believe in zodiac signs but if you want to identify that I am an Aries, the symbol is a bull. I have my two horns, which get me going, not because of the accolades and the satisfaction that would come out of it, but at the end of the day, I have no expectations; I just do what I have to do and thank everyone for giving me the opportunity to do what I want to do.

In showbiz, one always has to look attractive and fit. What do you do to stay in shape?
I'm very lazy o (laughs). I have to tell you the truth. When people complain  that I have added too much weight, I would now run and hit the gym.

But you aren't that big, though the screen makes you look so...
I am not above my weight limit. I can carry myself. I don't believe I should be skinny, but exercising is hard work and hard work is not something you can force someone to get used to. The thing is when I think I should lose weight, I just go on a crash course of working out and eating right, even though it is very hard for me that grew up eating 'swallow'. I am always very careful because it is not about living life but enjoying life.

There is so much competition among female celebrities in the industry at the moment. What is your relationship with them?
I have a very healthy relationship with everyone of them. I love them and get loved in return.  My colleagues would say I am a crazy,mad girl and a sweetheart. It would shock you, but I am an introvert,and I enjoy my quiet time. This doesn't mean that I don't rock, but my friends understand me. We might not talk for months, but when we do, the love is real.

Do your male fans let you rest at all?
Why na; wetin dey happen? They respect me a lot, and when some of them want something more, I always look for how to 'friend zone' them, or am I going to share my organ with the whole world? Whenever one says 'I want this girl, I would want to have her', I always tell them that it is better to have me as a friend.
Funny enough, even my male counterparts in the industry have viewed me as a younger sister. So, if as a guy you had already planned to corner me, the moment you meet me and we have a conversation, you would have a change of heart immediately.
If you were given a magic wand, what would you wish to change about yourself?
Nothing.

But everyone has a weakness...
Well, when I was growing up, there were a lot of things I wish I could change, but I have trained myself. The Bible says the joy of the Lord is my strength, which means that in all things, we should give thanks to God. You need to have a steady mind of celebration. Of course, there are one or two things that would make me sad; but there is nothing really to it other than being happy.
If I dey soak garri today, e no go pain me because I dey see food dey chop. The day I see fried rice, I go also thank God, rather than regretting the days of soaking garri, because my mentality is that the rich person who eats fried rice somewhere in the beach and the person soaking garri under the bridge have the  same blood flowing through their veins. We were all born the same way; why don't I try to make the best of every situation I find myself?

What is your idea of style?
Style, to me, is comfort. I have tried my best to follow various trends, but I have realised that I am not a fashion icon, I am a musician. The day you see me put on something and you say you like Omawumi's style, I would say 'thank you', but don't be angry the day I come out looking like a masquerade. Be happy for me at least; I schooled in Warri. I had my primary and secondary education in Warri and went to Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, and you can say make I dey overdo, wetin I do you, I resemble oyinbo? God, I beg o.
I am happy with myself and I am happy that I am trying. I am a musician. Of course I need to look attractive for people to buy my music and enjoy it, but the thing about it is that I cannot give that full concentration because I believe that what you enjoy about me is my music.

When you have to go for shows and rehearsals at night, how do you keep up being a mum?
My daughter is in my hotel room as we speak; I just know how to manage it. I do the regular school runs in the morning. I have a loving family around me. Her father is around and we do the work together. I spend quality time with my daughter, because nothing in the world is more important than that, apart from God.

I am 29 years old. I need your candid advice in terms of my relationship.
I used to date a black guy who I fell in love with but he broke up with me because he said I was a bit stubborn and he thinks I'm self centered. I pleaded with him not to end the relationship, even family members intervened all to no avail. He still ended it and I was really heartbroken. He has got three kids (white kids) and he is still single. During our breakup I met a 34 year old white guy who I started dating. This guy is nice, caring and he loves me but he said he is not ready to get married yet but we can have babies together.
Now the black guy whom I'm still in love with is back and asking for a new beginning all over again. He wants us to settle down together. My problem is I'm so confused about him because of the way he acted. I'm still in love with him not minding the fact that he has kids already but I still have the white guy who I am dating but I don't love him.
I don't know who to settle with for life.

According to reports From AIT, a middle-aged man Mr. Fredrick Onuigbo few hours to the new year committed suicide by setting himself ablaze in Abuja, the Federal Capital territory on the 23rd December, 2013.
It is reported that Mr Fredrick faced an ejection threat from the Landlord, his 7 Children are out of school,  his mother's corpse was in the mortuary, he had no single food in his house, he had lost everything in his business and he was faced with loan repayment from a Micro-finance bank.
Whilst arrangement was in top gear for the yuletide for many families,
According to the family members, Late Fredrick wondered why "Economic Growth" is no longer about food on table, roof above the head, affordable medical facilities, good education…. he was caught in the web of economic depreciation which has been choking him for years now.
However, the police have evacuated the corpse to the mortuary of the General Hospital, Kubwa, Abuja.

I am starting my year with a twenty one day fast and asking God for strength to see it through.
I know the things that I need God to do for me and my family! I also know that I need answers and direction from God. Most importantly I know that it is time to stop wasting my time and face my calling regardless of what people will say or think.
 I know That I want to build my relationship with God and advertise him to the world with all that he has given me. I also know that it is time for you all to step out in faith and live the best life you were called to live. As the world draws closer to its end, we all need to be mindful of what we absorb from this world and society.
 - We all need to know where we stand and who we stand for
- We all need to know for a fact, what we are doing and when we are supposed to do it- We all need to know where we are heading and not be guided by the expectations of people - I am not going to waste my time in 2014 - I am not going to look the way people expect me to look but the way i know I should look
- I am not going to spend money on irrelevant things when there are hungry and uneducated children out there who need help


- I am not going to attend an event because people expect me to, but because I am supposed to
- I am not going to comment on something because the world is expecting a reaction from me but speak as the Holy Spirit leads me- I am not going to be afraid to do the things God has asked me to do because of the impression some people have of me
- I am not going to please man and offend God
- I am not going to keep friends who are not willing to follow the will of God and encourage me to love him
- I am not going to beg or seek for validation from man but from God who has already validated and endorsed me
- I am not going to say I am not good enough or I am not qualified because God created me for such a time as this
- I am not going to run away from the real me just because I want to retain fans and friends
- I will be happy and joyful
- I will live my life to the fullest
- I will love and praise God who is the creator of all things
- I will stand by the truth I know, no matter what
- I will love and pray for my enemies no matter how difficult it is
- I will run away from evil and its people
- I will tell those who care to listen about the God I have come to know
- I will sing the songs that I have always wanted to sing whether my voice is wonderful or not


- I will spend my time on important things



- I will not follow unnecessary trend when I know it is not good for me
- I will be content with what I have and where I am
- I will encourage and teach all those who are in my life



These are not new year resolutions but decisions I know I should have made long ago.

- 2014 is the year that we should all sit back and find out from God who we are, what our purpose is and how to go about it
- 2014 is the year we should all be free to do the work that we would enjoy and be paid for doing it



- 2014 is the year of our financial freedom and breakthrough
- 2014 is the year that we will all realize the Most important things in life
- 2014 is the year that jealousy, envy and gossip will no longer hold us back from our blessings and favor
- 2014 is the year we will stand for what is right and just



- 2014 is the year we stop thinking about ourselves alone but about every child created by God

The Household of God Head Pastor recently acquired a Rolls Royce Phantom said to be worth N80m and a Range Rover Autobiography worth N30million. He said he bought these cars to celebrate 27 years as a pastor and 30 years as a born again Christian.
He opened his garage doors to Encomium magazine and let them take photos of his exotic automobiles to show to the world.
