'The Christian confusion was driving me nuts' - Former Actress Vivian Metchie Reveals Why she Converted to Islam!

Posted: 24 Dec 2013 10:07 AM PST

Recently divorced Nollywood actress Vivian Metchie says she recently adopted the Islamic faith because she found the Christian faith too confusing. Speaking with Yes! magazine on her conversion, Ms Metchie said it was a personal decision she had to take...

"Yeah it is personal. I understand the Koran more than the bible. All of a sudden, the Christian confusion was driving me nuts. My dad was catholic, my mum was Deeper Life, I married someone in the Redeemed Church and then all of a sudden, the few religions had something bad to say about each other. I just couldn't take it anymore. A friend of mine who is close to me said that once you are grounded on the word, it wont be confusing. Unfortunately, maybe I wasn't grounded in the word, but I still could see what I see. But in my quest and study and research, I don't know: I was probably looking for peace. Yeah! That was what I was looking for and I found it in the Koran".
The mother of 4 who has adopted Fareedah as her muslim name says her decision was well received and respected by her dad who has since stopped calling her by her native name and now calls her Fareedah.

John claims he abused his wife because she would cheat on him on several occasions; an accusation Janet denied saying it was him who broke the marriage with his infidelity….. The victim of the domestic violence, Janet Mwihaki, a citizen of Kenya met her fate after giving birth to their third son in 2005.  Janet and John got married in 1999 and bore him a son the next year. In 2002, she gave birth to their second and in 2005, their third. Then the side of her husband she didn't know existed began to emerge.
After a year of separation, Janet came back to work in Nairobi as a trader. John burnt his wife's hands and entire body, disfiguring her body. The police advised her to report him to the authorities if she ever saw him again.

woman burnt through domestic violence

John was given a ten-year jail term, which ends in three years. According to prison guards, John today is a changed man and because of his good conduct, he might be released early. Domestic violence still remains one of the least convicted crimes in Kenya and no one really wants to discuss it, whether it's against the man or woman.

'Beware of fraudsters in my Name on social media' - Funke Akindele Battles social media Fraudsters!

Posted: 24 Dec 2013 09:30 AM PST

Nollywood Star actress, Funke Akindele has called on her teeming fans not to fall victims of some fraudsters on social media, who ask them to part with their hard-earned money.

According to what we gathered, some set of people have been going about on the internet requesting unsuspecting fans of the actress to pay money into some bank accounts to appear in a movie production by the sultry actress.

Also, another impostor on Facebook promised some unsuspecting fans penultimate week that laptops and Blackberries would be given to them (fans) as Christmas and New Year gifts.

"Good evening to all my fans out there all over the world, I thank you all for all your support, for that, I will be giving out Blackberry and laptops to some of my fans on Facebook as Xmas/New Year gifts. Like this status if you are interested. No comment please. If you have received your gift before, please do not comment to avoid double claim of prize. (I) love you my great fans," the 'fake' Funke Akindele wrote on Facebook penultimate Thursday.

However, We contacted a representative of the actress, Ayo Ola Mohammed, who told us to disregard the post as it does not come from Funke.

Responding to us via email, after a phone chat, Ayo said that Funke has warned her fans never to part with their money or fall victims of these impostors. She confirmed to us that Funke Akindele has reached her friends' limit of Facebook.

Funke Akindele also warned that fans should "beware of certain Mark Kelechi who has been asking people to pay into his account to partake in Funke Akindele's movie productions. This is false. We run a school of drama (Scene One School of Drama) and admission details about the school will be out soon. Please do not pay anyone to be part of my productions.

"In addition, I'm not giving out any gifts. Beware of fraudsters like Kelechi on social media. Here is his number, 08176828172 and email address is markkelechi@gmail.com. Thank you."

“Yes, Patience Jonathan is my Jesus Christ!” Check-Out the Top 10 Celebrities Worst Quotes of 2013!

Posted: 24 Dec 2013 07:56 AM PST

Obafaiye-Shema-670x497

We love our public figures. But every once in a while, they cannot resist themselves and forget to keep their mouths shut.
They mouth off things they really should not be saying and depending on the severity of such gaffes, we love them even more for dishing out the soundbites, or pour contempt on their nerve.
These 10 quotes were the most cringe-inducing of the year and we present them for your reading pleasure. In ascending order.

10) "I am the best rapper in Nigeria. If you have an opposing opinion, now is the best time to keep it to yourself"

Rapper Yung6ix having his imagined Kendrick Lamar moment. Dear Yung6ix; make good music, put out an album, put your name out there. Maybe then we'll take you seriously.

9) "Any academic staff who fails to resume on or before December 4, 2013 automatically ceases to be a staff of the institution and vice chancellors are also directed to advertise vacancies in their institutions."

Nyesom Wike, supervising minster for the education ministry wading full throttle into the federal government-ASUU impasse like the uncouth fellow that he is and trying (unsuccessfully, thank God) to scuttle the work of parties genuinely committed to ending the months long strike. His ill advised press conference in which he stayed screaming at the microphone and  yelled threats became an instant visual manual for government officials on how not to act in public. We shudder to recall.

8) "I was not a tribalist when I had a long-standing and intimate relationship with Miss Bianca Onoh, an Igbo lady…"

What shall we do with Femi Fani Kayode? For most of the year, the former aviation minister and presidential spokesman was a national embarrassment, spewing forth conspiracy theories on any subject catching his fancy. While he had so many disastrous statements, he got more than he bargained for when in defending himself against tribalism attacks, bizarrely claimed to have had a sizzling relationship with Bianca Ojukwu, widow of the late Biafran warlord. He was forced to recant when she threatened to sue him for every penny.

7) "We have stolen billions of dollars, what did you do? We steal because you never stoned us for it."

Governor Rotimi Amechi of Rivers state takes his side job as ruffler of feathers very seriously. He dishes out one provocative statement after the other without giving a damn and exists to taunt the unfortunate suckers who have not gained access to the national loot. At a tribute event for Nelson Mandela some weeks back he dropped his latest verbal missile and it was both an indictment on himself as it was on his docile followers. No sir, in bad taste.

6) "Come, sit on my laps and I will show you a level of grace you do not understand."

According to Ese Walters, repentant adultress and misguided victim, senior Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo of the Commonwealth Of Zion Assembly must have been using these cringe worthy lines to score with wide-eyed members of his female congregation. The most surprising part of this line is that it actually works. His sweet roll came to an end when she published a tell all blog post revealing the pastor's many sexcapades. Pastor Fatoyinbo is yet to deny Walters' claims. And is yet to give that robust response.

5) "As the president, I don't know him (Abu Shekau) and don't know if he is dead or alive; you journalists will know more than us. You are the ones who talk to Boko Haram"

In a presidential media chat, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan uttered the words never to be spoken by a country's chief security officer. In denying the whereabouts (and maybe existence) of Abu Shekau, Boko Haram's point man, he took the war on terror 10 steps back. Worse still was the lackadaisical manner in which he delivered his cluelessness.

4) "Yes, Patience Jonathan is my Jesus Christ!"

Now this would be funny if it wasn't so sad. And true. Hon. Evans Bipi of the Rivers state house of assembly who proved he was anything but honourable, was speaking from the bottom of his heart when he declared dame Patience Jonathan (aka mama Peace) his deity as she was responsible for his political career so far.

3) "I cannot categorically tell you one now… the one we are going to make use of is going to be made known by my oga at the top…"

Mr Obafaiye Shem, former Lagos state commandant of the National Security and Civil Defence Corps was asked a simple straight forward question by the hosts of Channels tv's daily breakfast show. "What is the website of the NSCDC?" It became his undoing as he went on a rambling routine that did not produce the answer to the question but succeeded in shedding light on the pathetic state of affairs of our public institutions and officers. Shame on you Shem.

2) "We do not pray for accidents but it is inevitable… we do everything to ensure that we do not have accidents, but it is an act of God."

Stella Oduah, Aviation minister addressing journalists 3 days after 16 people lost their lives in the Associated airlines crash that was ferrying the remains of Olusegun Agagu, a former aviation minister. Of course, as it turned out, God had nothing to do with this particular crash as the Accident Investigation Bureau revealed that a malfunctioning engine and a wrong call  by the pilot was most likely the cause.

1) "You are a widow… go and die"

Oh dear! Edo state governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole became this year's face of insensitivity when he was recorded on video, yelling at a poor widow displaying her wares illegally by the roadside to go and die. He later had tea with his victim and rewarded her generously but still, that image lingers.

Mikhail Kalashnikov Creator of the AK-47 assault rifle, dies at 94!

Posted: 24 Dec 2013 06:57 AM PST

Mikhail Kalashnikov

Mikhail Kalashnikov, shown in Moscow in 2004, holds his creation, the AK-47. By some estimates, it is the world's most abundant firearm, with one for every 70 of the men, women and children on Earth.

Interviewers always asked Mikhail Kalashnikov the same question and he always gave the same answer: Yes, he could sleep at night. Quite easily, thank you.

Kalashnikov, creator of the AK-47, a cheap, simple, rugged assault rifle that became the weapon of choice for more than 50 standing armies as well as drug lords, street gangs, revolutionaries, terrorists, pirates and thugs the world over, died Monday at a hospital in Izhevsk, the capital of the Russian republic of Udmurtia, according to a government spokesman. Kalashnikov was 94.

Over six decades, the AK-47 — sometimes called the Kalashnikov — became a staple in guerrilla raids and gang drive-bys. It was so easy to operate that children as well as professional soldiers could fire 650 deadly bursts per minute.
In Vietnam, the Viet Cong used AK-47s while moisture and muck sometimes jammed more precise American M16s. In Rwanda, some 800,000 Tutsi villagers were slaughtered with machetes and AK-47s. With its distinctive banana-shaped clip, the weapon was a favorite of Yasser Arafat, Saddam Hussein and Osama bin Laden, who had one nearby in almost every photograph. In Africa, Mozambique placed a silhouetted AK-47 on its flag, crossed with a hoe.
A diminutive, white-haired man with the honorary rank of general, Kalashnikov was revered throughout Russia and the other republics of the former Soviet Union. A Kalashnikov museum in Izhevsk, the once-closed industrial city in the Urals where he spent much of his career, draws 10,000 visitors a month. Anniversaries of the gun's 1947 birth are duly noted; at a ceremony for its 60th birthday in 2007, Russian President Vladimir Putin called it "a symbol of the creative genius of our people".
In a November interview with the Los Angeles Times, Russian arms expert Igor Korotchenko called Kalashnikov one of the greatest weapons designers of all time.
"If Colt designed a handgun which made all Americans equal, Kalashnikov invented a weapon which made it possible for many countries to fight for their independence and win it," said Korotchenko, a retired Russian colonel who edits Nastionalnaya Oborona, a Moscow-based national defense magazine.
Historians say the AK-47 and its spinoffs changed combat forever. While they aren't as accurate as other guns or as effective at long distances, they weigh only eight pounds and have few moving parts. Child soldiers can take them apart and put them back together in 30 seconds. They can tolerate sand, grit, mud and humidity. They work just as well in jungle and swamp as on city streets.
"Together these traits meant that once this weapon was distributed, the small-statured, the mechanically disinclined, the dimwitted and the untrained might be able to wield, with little difficulty or instruction, a lightweight automatic rifle that could push out blistering fire for the lengths of two or three football fields," wrote journalist C.J. Chivers in "The Gun", his 2010 book about the AK-47.
On top of that, the AK-47 — short for Avtomat Kaloshnikova 1947 — is everywhere. It can be purchased in some countries for "less than the cost of a live chicken," according to author Larry Kahaner. By some estimates, it is the world's most abundant firearm, with one for every 70 of the men, women and children on Earth.
Its spread "helps explain why, since World War II, so many 'small wars' have lingered far beyond the months and years one might expect," Kahaner wrote in the Washington Post. "Indeed, for all the billions of dollars Washington has spent on space-age weapons and military technology, the AK still remains the most devastating weapon on the planet, transforming conflicts from Vietnam to Afghanistan to Iraq."
In news reports over the years, Kalashnikov appeared to be of mixed minds about his brainchild. At one point, he spoke of establishing a fund for gunshot victims.
"I am proud of my weapon but I am sad that terrorists use it," he told the Russian online publication newsru.com in 2009. "I wish I had invented a machine which people could use, which could do good for farmers — for example, a sowing machine."
But for the most part, he vigorously defended his namesake weapon.
"I designed the Kalashnikov for my motherland, for the glory of the Soviet army," he said, choking with emotion during a 1997 interview with the Moscow Times. "If it has fallen into the wrong hands, that is not my business."
In his later years, Kalashnikov was pleased to learn that former rebels in Africa were naming their firstborn sons "Kalash."
And he was proud that his tiny hometown on the Russian steppes had erected a bronze bust of its most famous son.
Newlyweds dropped by to lay flowers beside it, he told the Associated Press in 2007.
"They whisper, 'Uncle Misha, wish us happiness and healthy kids,'" he said. "What other gun designer can boast of that?"
Born on Nov. 10, 1919, in Kurya, a remote village in south central Russia, Mikhail Timofeyevich Kalashnikov was one of 18 children. Only eight survived to adulthood.

Revealed! The Saudi Plane That Blocked Abuja Airport Runway Was Carrying Bullet-Proof Cars!

Posted: 24 Dec 2013 06:41 AM PST

It has been confirmed that the contents of the Saudi Arabian Airline that ran into some construction equipment at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport on Wednesday, December 04, 2013, were carrying bullet proof cars.
The plane landed at about 9:19pm that day and blocked the only major runway at the airport, delaying takeoff and landing of flights in the airport for over 20 hours.

The Embassy of Saudi Arabia in a letter dated Dec., 20 to Leadership Newspaper wanted to clarify to Nigerians and the media that, the cargo plane was not carrying any weapon but bullet proof cars. Accoridng to them; the Boeing 747 plane marked K 74798 "was chartered by Saudi Arabia Airline, carrying bullet-proof cars and its final destination is Murtala Muhammad Airport, Lagos, Nigeria.

The detailed description of the content of the plane is as follows: a set of bullet-proof cars weighing 58 tonnes. Another set of five bullet-proof cars weighing 42 tonnes.

"The goods were a portion of a supply contract for 10 bullet-proof cars to a government agency in Nigeria, which were to be conveyed from Sharjah (UAE) via Abuja, through Fast Forward Cargo US UAC, to Defence Industries of Nigeria (DICON), 45 Ahmadu Bello Way, Kaduna, through the company's contact person: Mr Nwajpudu Livinston/CCC. The goods were manufactured in South Africa."

The Saudis wanted the impression that the cargo plane was carrying weapons be corrected since the goods aboard the plane "were neither those considered as dangerous nor prohibited."

Patience Jonathan Got import waiver to import 200 BMW cars for her “Africa First Ladies” summit in 2012?

Posted: 24 Dec 2013 06:39 AM PST

SaharaReporters published a report a few days ago, claiming that the office of the 1st Lady obtained import waiver to import 200 BMW cars for her "Africa First Ladies" summit in 2012. The ministry of Finance says the report is false. Saharareporters insists it's true & has responded. Find a statement from the ministry of finance below and SR's response!

Saharareporter's story on waiver granted office of the First Lady is a complete distortion

The story by Saharareporters on the so-called waivers scandal in which the notorious news website made outrageous allegations against the Office of the First Lady is a false exclusive based on distorted information.

The website merely extracted and distorted information on the list of beneficiaries of the revised waivers policy which the Federal Ministry of Finance voluntarily published as part of its drive for transparency and accountability. Continue...
The revised waivers policy replaces the old regime of individual waivers with the objective of boosting key sectors such as agriculture, power, gas and mines/steel. The strategy is to deploy waivers as a stronger tool of economic development.

Part of the information published by the Federal Ministry of Finance was a list of state governments, private sector organizations and other institutions which were granted waivers to bring in vehicles for various events including sports festivals, conferences and workshops. This practice did not begin with the Jonathan administration.

Beneficiaries of the waivers for vehicle imports include state governments such as Akwa Ibom, Rivers and Lagos as well as organizations such as the continental First Ladies Forum which was granted a waiver for vehicles required for their event hosted by Nigeria. The First Lady did not in any way personally benefit from this waiver.

It is important to recall the fact that the country has a nascent leasing industry and no company in the sector currently has the quantity and quality of vehicles required for such events. Government is encouraging private sector organizations with the requisite focus and expertise in this area and the hope is that soon it would no longer be necessary to grant such waivers.

The resort to falsehood by Saharareporters based on a distortion of information voluntarily made available by government underscores the desperation of this scurrilous medium and its paymasters.

Special Adviser to the Coordinating Minister for the Economy and Minister of Finance.

The Truth about the Federal Government of Nigeria's Waiver Policy

1.      You may recall that the
Punch Newspaper published editorials accusing the government and the Federal Ministry of Finance of running a corrupt waiver policy, and challenged the Federal Ministry of Finance to publish those waivers. (http://bit.ly/1jCH3j4)

2.     The Federal Ministry of Finance categorically refutes the allegation that it is running a corrupt waiver policy.

3.      Two years ago the Executive introduced a total reform of the waiver policy. Waivers are now only granted on a sectoral basis. This means that every company in the sector enjoys the same waiver privileges. All companies or entities involved in a sector or given activity will benefit from the same waivers once they meet the necessary criteria.

4.      The Federal Ministry of Finance published an abbreviated version of the full waiver report in several newspapers. It was also announced that the full version is available at www.budgetoffice.gov.ng and on social media (http://on.fb.me/1fWHYG5).

5.      The SaharaReporters claim that the Federal Ministry of Finance surreptitiously released an updated waiver list on the web only on December 22nd, 2013 is categorically false. In the spirit of transparency, the full waiver list was made public on December 3rd

6.      For the avoidance of doubt: the Federal Ministry of Finance has never denied issuing waivers to African First Ladies Forum conference. This official event for First Ladies of all the other African countries necessitated vehicles for the transport of these visiting dignitaries. The waiver granted for this occasion is similar to other waivers issued to various state governments and government institutions such as Rivers, Lagos, and Akwa Ibom for similar official sporting and conference events.

7.       As always The Federal Ministry of Finance welcomes all legitimate inquiries and criticisms. The Ministry of Finance cannot be expected to remain silent when falsification and distortion of facts occurs.

Sahara Reporters Response below...
By Omoyele Sowore

Dear Minister Of Finance, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala : It has come to our attention that your Special Assistant on Media, Paul Nwabuikwu, is circulating a press statement to a select group of news outlets and bloggers describing as false a report by SaharaReporters about import waivers obtained by Mrs. Patience Jonathan's office to import 200 BMW cars for her "Africa First Ladies" summit in 2012.

While your aide's statement did not dispute the existence of waivers that were ultimately granted to Coscharis Motors to import the cars, he went to great lengths to accuse SaharaReporters of distorting the information released by your office.

We are not in the least surprised that you would authorize your aide's misleading press release aimed at casting aspersions on us. This mendacious release is consistent with your style of responding to legitimate questions about your conduct as Nigeria's Minister of Finance. You have established a reputation for intolerance of principled and accurate media reports once they raise questions about your ministerial judgments or reflect poorly on your performance.

You would recall that, on December 3rd, 2013, you published a doctored list of beneficiaries of import waivers in response to pressures mounted on your office by Nigeria's PUNCH newspaper. Without question, you had hoped to bamboozle the public with this incomplete list. However, we refused to accept your list for publication, having received information from officials who should know that your list was distorted and incomplete, indeed an attempt to hoodwink gullible reporters and Nigerians. Yesterday, your office surreptitiously released an updated list on the web. It is this fuller list that revealed part of how the First Lady has benefited significantly from the questionable dispensation of import waivers to politically connected individuals and firms. We duly acknowledged our source.
The tone of your aide's press statement makes it clear that you had hoped that your updated list would not become public knowledge. That explains the harsh and predictable attack on our medium.

Since your statement claimed that Mrs. Jonathan did not benefit from the imported BMWs, we urge you to go a step further: produce the list of beneficiaries and providing the chasses numbers of the BMWs imported under the questionable waivers you granted to Coscharis Motors in 2012. In addition, we challenge you to provide evidence that Coscharis Motors imported the vehicles for which the waivers were granted.

You should also do the Nigerian public the great service of explaining why presidential spokesman, Reuben Abati, claimed that the Federal Government had not contributed a dime to the importation of the BMWs, when your office had indeed granted waivers worth N560 million to the controversial auto dealer.

Since you claimed that your latest release was driven by your desire to ensure transparency, we await a detailed response to the issues raised here.

Sincerely,
Omoyele Sowore

SHOCKER! Pregnant Banker slits husband’s manhood!

Posted: 24 Dec 2013 05:33 AM PST

A banker has been arrested by operatives of the Lagos State Police Command for allegedly slitting her husband's manhood. She was said to have taken that action over his alleged refusal to give her money.
The incident occurred about 2am last Monday at their 99, Falolu Street, Surulere, Lagos home.
The victim, Olamilekan Idowu Daniji, 34, told The Nation yesterday that his wife of three years, Nofisat, woke him up from sleep on the fateful day, threatening that between them, one person must die.
"At first, I thought armed robbers broke into our home because she hit me hard, waking me forcefully. She tore my under-pant and held my private part. Everything was like a movie. And before I could say anything, she cut my private part. When I saw blood I shouted and she said: 'That is where you will die.' She abandoned me and fled," Daniji said.
He recalled that two days earlier, his wife, who works in a bank, quarrelled with him over his inability to provide food allowance.
He said: "I am a gospel artiste. On Saturday morning – December 14 – I was preparing to go out when my wife came and said she needed money for food. I told her I had nothing on me. But before I left, she told me there were some noodles in the house which she and my son would eat. After she finished preparing it, she left a little in the pot which I ate before going out. But before I left the house, I called one of my sales representatives who told me he sold some copies and had about N2,500 for me.
"After collecting the money, I went home and my wife said she wanted to eat fufu and white soup. I bought it for her. Shortly after, she requested bread, which I also bought for her. I did not complain because she is pregnant. On Sunday, I went to church, came back home and saw my wife and my son eating rice. I was happy that at least they had something to eat. I went out and bought beans and bread for myself and as I was eating, my wife came and started abusing me. She said I was selfish; that I did not care to ask how she got money to prepare the rice they ate. When she realised I was not responding, she carried the plate of beans and turned it on my head. She held my tie and threatened to strangle me. I begged her but she would not listen. So, I forced myself off her and ran away. But she caught up with me and broke a bucket on my head."
Daniji added: "She broke three empty bottles and attempted to stab me, but I escaped through my sister's shop. Her mother came around and I called my mother's sister and they were able to calm her. After we settled, I left the house."
The artiste said when he returned in the evening, he could not find his son. He asked his wife but she said nothing, but his elder sister told him that his mother-in-law took his son away.
"I told my wife to go and bring my son and that if I did not see him before 8pm, she would not like what I would do to her. At exactly 8pm, she left the house and came back after 30 minutes without my son. We quarrelled, after which I slept off on the chair. That was where she woke me up and cut my private part."
Daniji said he was rushed to a private infirmary in Surulere by members of his family.
The matter, he added, was reported at the Barracks Police Station, Surulere, and the woman was arrested.
In her statement at the station, Nofisat wrote: "Ever since we got married, my sister-in-law and her twin brother have not allowed us peace. I was praying that my husband would make money and rent his own apartment so that we can live together in peace without any interference. I did not use knife on him; it was my finger nails."
Daniji said he disallowed the police from charging the matter to court, because all he wanted was separation from his wife.

#TheMoneyList! Meet The top 5 Richest Entertainers In Nigeria!

Posted: 24 Dec 2013 05:33 AM PST

Ventures Africa has compiled a list of the 5 richest contemporary Nigerian entertainers.
See it out below:
Tuface: Born Innocent Idibia, the former member of the band, Plantashun Boyz, is among the richest artists in the industry. With two platinum records already behind him, Tuface (2Face) is speculated to be worth about 550 million naira ($3.47 million). He has had endorsement deals from companies such as Guinness, which earned him 20 million naira ($125,000) and Airtel, which earned him 22 million naira ($139,000). He was also rumoured to have collected 30 million naira ($189,000) from the producers of the Phat Girls movie. Tuface has invested heavily in real estate and stocks, and made big money from it.
He once said his goal was to recover all the wealth taken from Africa.

D'banj: Apart from his music interests, D'banj has moved into other sectors. His interests include Koko Mansion, a TV reality show, Koko Lounge, an upscale hangout in Lagos and the UK, Koko Foundation, a charity, and Koko Mobile. The bulk of his money comes from endorsements – his endorsement deal with Globacom telecommunications cost 70 million naira ($442,000). He has a multi-million naira endorsement with energy drink Power Fist, a deal with the makers of the Virgin Colour soft drink and another huge deal with a popular jeweler. Another endorsement which runs into millions is with Chris Aire, with D'banj acting as the face of his watches. He collects between 5 million naira ($31,500) and 7 million naira ($44,200) as performance fee for local gigs, and even bigger fees across the rest of Africa and in the US and the UK. Like his old boss, Don Jazzy, D'banj also bagged a recording deal with Kanye West's G.O.O.D Music. D'banj once said, "I work hard so that money, awards, endorsements, bookings and kokolets chase me."

Posted: 24 Dec 2013 03:38 AM PST

Nollywood Actor, Desmond Elliot In Romance Controversy With Blood Sisters, The handsome Nollywood top shot, National Enquirer gathered is presently in a sizzling romance with two blood sisters and this has been causing squabbles between the half-caste ladies of same parents, Roseline and Yvette Muere.

According to one of Desmond's close friends, the actor has been secretly stepping out with the two sisters separately and as at the last time, he was spotted with the eldest, Roseline Muerer at the just concluded Nollywood at 20 event which held at the prestigious Intercontinental hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos. Though not so many people are aware that they came together, the "couple" who came in same car stylishly stepped into the hall in a 'CODED' manner to deceive the public.

And in another development, Desmond whose wife has bore him 2 set of twins has also been seen with the youngest Muerer, Yvette at The Mall, where they went to see movies together, he has also flown the teenage girl to several movie sets in Calabar and as a matter of fact, the school certificate holder, Yvette has once crashed Desmond's coupe's car which she cruises around.

Tracing the genesis of their relationship, we gathered that, the beautiful Roseline sought Desmond's help to make her an actress and no sooner they met than he (Desmond) featured her to star alongside notable faces like Uti Nwachukwu, Ini Edo, Lydia Forson, Morris Sesay in one of the films he directed, In The Cupboard,  a story that revolves around the lives of six siblings born into the rich, aristocratic Desouza family; a name synonymous with wealth & power, the rest as they say has been history.

The source told National Enquirer further that Desmond and Roseline's affair blossomed to the extent that, Rose's mum got wind of it, this was what informed the closeness of Rose younger sister, Yvette and before anybody could say Jack Robinson, the teenage girl had moved in with Desmond in his matrimonial home in Lekki without her sister's consent, and meanwhile Desmond's wife has since been in the US where she was delivered of their second set of twins.

Bubble however burst when Yvette's whereabouts was unknown and Rose's efforts to visit her boyfriend who had paraded and introduced her to friends as the new woman in his life were abortive, this aroused suspicion as Rose had to confront her sister to tell her of her hidden place. It was a hot argument between the blood sisters but we learnt they later resolved, even though Yvette confessed that nothing has happened between her and Desmond despite that she's been everywhere with him including staying in his matrimonial home and cruising his ride.
National Enquirer called Desmond Elliot and his swift response was not just appalling but amazing, here us: "this call is from National Enquirer, we're investigating a story of your relationship with the Muerer sisters, Roseline and Yvette, we would like to know more about it, after a moment of sigh, he told us he was driving and after confronted him with the fact at hand, in a trembling voice, the actor said "look, just wait like that, and the next thing was a lady's voice on the line, "hi hello, my name is Roseline Muerer, how're you, and just before we began to ask her anything, Desmond spoke again, just wait o, hold on again and alas, he put the younger Muerer on the line again, hello how're you, my name is Yvette and he got the line back line, look what I can tell you is that, we're all family friends, don't know who's giving you the story but the story is unfounded, in  fact, do you have a blackberry, please text it to me I'll add you right away so that we can chat further, he said.
