He was arrested at the city's Tan Son Nhat Airport , after arriving from Thailand, with the drugs allegedly found in 19 nylon bags hidden in a battery charger. He claimed during interrogation that he had been asked by another man to carry some goods including 16 pistons and the battery charger to Viet Nam, and that he did not know there were drugs inside! | Posted: 26 Oct 2013 07:16 AM PDT  In a recent interview with a national newspaper, movie producer and director, Kunle Afolayan, revealed why he rarely features his brothers - Gabriel and Aremu - in his movies. "It would be a wrong casting if I feature my brothers in a movie because I want them to be a part of the production. I know some families in the industry that does that and I have explained it to them before. It is absolutely wrong casting. I can't imagine me playing the role of a policeman in a movie, while Gabriel plays the criminal. It is very wrong. The only way you can justify such casting is if he plays my brother. Even if we are both playing roles that are not linked in a movie, professionally, it is wrong. The Wayans brothers for instance, play the role of brothers in all their movies. Dharmendra and his children in any Indian movie would play father and children and the same goes for Amitabh Bachchan and his children. It is only in this country that a whole family plays diverse roles in one movie. Professionally, it is wrong and I will never do it. If I'm not in a film and I think any of my brothers would fit into the movie, they will do it. Gabriel understands because I have explained to him several times." he explained. The "October 1" movie producer when asked "You recently posted on Facebook that you may not be long, what prompted that?" also said..."I didn't imply that, it was the media that turned it around. I was just talking out loud. I just woke up and I felt overwhelmed, like I was doing too much and I felt it wasn't healthy. And at the end of the statement, I said 'what do you think?' It was more or as if I was seeking advice. I didn't predict anything like people said. When it's time for me to die, I will die, nobody can predict anybody's death. That morning I just woke up and I felt I had pushed the body too much. I just came back from a shoot and the next thing, I was off to another one. My social life is dead and all I do often now is work and I don't think that is healthy. So it was just a thought, I didn't predict my own death.  |

| 45-year-Old Mother Arrested for Selling her Daughters' Virginity For N35,000!! Posted: 26 Oct 2013 06:01 AM PDT  A mother of 14 in Colombia tried to make ends meet, police say, by pushing her daughters into "hell" and selling their virginity for a couple hundred dollars. Margarita de Jesus Zapata Moreno, 45, was arrested this week together with a 51-year-old contractor who police believe impregnated one of the young daughters. She broke down in tears when she stood in front of the cameras after being arrested in Bogota, the Colombian capital. The Bogota Metropolitan Police say Zapata sold the virginity of 12 daughters to much older men seeking to have sex with young virgins. Authorities also say the suspect would begin selling her daughters to men as soon as the girls turned 12 years old. She charged anywhere between 300,000 and 400,000 Colombian Pesos ($160 to $212) for a virgin. But Zapata strongly denies the accusation. Colombian authorities often show high-profile suspects to the media shortly after arresting them. When Zapata was standing in front of the cameras Wednesday, one of the reporters shouted a question to her: "Did you prostitute your daughters?" She answered: "No, my darling." Colombian police say they learned of this alleged case of abuse because one of the alleged victims stepped forward. Authorities say one of the suspect's daughters forced into prostitution gave birth to a baby boy when she was 14. She had refused her mother's orders to have an abortion. Colonel Carlos Melendez, a Bogota Metropolitan Police spokesman, told CNN affiliate Caracol TV the young girl described to investigators the "hell" in which she lived when she was still a prepubescent girl, about being forced to have sex with much older men in her home and about a life of abuse and neglect. "She was a minor and she still had the courage to report the abuse and also to refuse to have an abortion. That's when this investigation started, from the threats of her own mother," Melendez said. The investigation took more than a year to complete because the only witness willing to testify, the 14-year-old girl, now 16, disappeared, apparently because she feared her mother would kill her for going to the police. After she reappeared, she also told authorities about a man who had sex with her and got her pregnant. Police arrested a 51-year-old man who investigators say fathered the son of the girl who was 14 years old when the baby was born. The suspect declined to comment at Wednesday's police presentation. Police are asking the rest of the daughters to provide more information about this case. "Those who are watching or listening to us, we would like to ask them to come to the police so that they give us information about transpired in this case," Melendez said. Police investigators say Zapata also forced her older daughters to drink alcohol and do drugs. Some ended up working as prostitutes and are missing, police said. Police say those two arrests are only the beginning. Investigators say they will also build cases against the men who were having sex with these minors. According to authorities, only two of Margarita de Jesus Zapata Moreno's 14 children were not forced into prostitution. They were the two youngest -- an 11-year-old boy and a 9-year-old girl -- and they have been placed in the custody of a Colombian government child protection agency.  |
| SHOCKER!! Two planes collide at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport Lagos!! Posted: 26 Oct 2013 05:52 AM PDT  There was a minor accident on Friday at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, involving a Turkish Airline aircraft and a Max Air plane. The Turkish Airline plane wings collided with that of Max Air plane which had brought in Pilgrims from Saudi Arabia. Saturday PUNCH learnt that the Turkish Airplane had landed safely but was taxiing to stop at the airport's apron when its wing collided with that of Max Air. The collision resulted in minor damages to both airplanes and sources said they had been taken away for repairs. An online newspaper said the Spokesman, Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, Mr. Fan Ndubuoke, confirmed the incident. He however said damages to the aircraft belonging to both airlines were minor and that both planes had been taken away for repairs. A similar incident occurred last year in Jos, Plateau State, when an Arik plane wings brushed an Airforce jet parked at the apron when the plane was taxiing to stop. There was also no casualty in the incident but only damages to both planes.  |

| Posted: 26 Oct 2013 05:17 AM PDT  The competition which pits a group of 'aesthetically challenged' men against each other in a contest to win the title of 'Mr Ugly Harare' was first held in 2011 and although it received a lot of criticism at the time it has since gained more popularity.  This year the participants were reportedly rewarded with overalls, safety shoes and rain coats; the first runner up, Benny Chakanyuka also received US$100 while the second runner up Funny Musekiwa walked away with US$50 and groceries. Along with the crown and prize money, the grand prize winner also won a year's school fees for one of his children, a prize his wife was very happy about. Speaking to allafrica.com about the preparation process he went for the contests, Masvinu said no preparation was needed because it all came naturally for him. "My ugliness comes naturally to me and although I did a bit to prepare for the show, I let them do the rest," he was quoted saying. "A bit of choreography together with his funny clothing helped him on stage but it was all minimum effort," his manager, Michael Gundo, said.   |
