Days after his arrest and with speculations and fears by his lawyer  and supporters that he was being tortured in Police custody, Leader of Rivers House of Assembly, Hon Chidi Llyod, was on Wednesday arraigned before Justice L. L Nyordee of the Port-Harcourt high court.

He is facing a six-count charge of conspiracy to murder and assault, attempted murder and malicious damage arising from the fracas in the House of Assembly on 9 July.
Though the case has been adjourned till the 6th of August, he was unable to walk on his own and had to be aided by 2 security men. 
The House Deputy Speaker, Leyii Kwanee said the inability of Lloyd to walk on his feet was a confirmation of the alarm they had earlier raised that the man was being tortured to extract information from him.

Despite running back into the arms of Karrauche Tran who he earlier dumped for Rihanna, Chris Brown shocked many when he said he was single "[Fans have] seen me on and off again with different girls, you know who they are, but right now, as a 24-year-old man, I just choose to be single"

Ebele Odilia Onwuanibe. 18 year old Ebele went missing on the 23rd of July. The last family member who saw her was her mother who took her to the park in Lagos and she was wearing a jeans skirt and top. Ebele was on her way to Nnamdi Azikiwe University to write post UTME.

She chatted with her sister briefly on whatsapp and then her phone went off the radar. The person she was supposed to meet up in Awka hasn't seen her. Her mother has also gone to the park to get the manifest but Ebele used an alias and there is no record of any accident.

(Chilling Story/Photo)-How a Delsu undergraduate & friend were Lynched in Lagos

Policemen attached to the Badagry Police Division, Lagos State, and some hoodlums have been accused of killing a 25-year-old undergraduate of Delta State University, Ifechukwude Nwainokpor, and his friend, identified simply as Kazeem.

An eight-minute video clip(HERE) of the gruesome killing, which was made available to PUNCH Metro, showed the two victims handcuffed together. They were covered in their own blood and beaten to death with sticks. Tyres were also put round   their necks.



An irate mob could be seen in the video, shouting, "die, die, burn them, burn them."

At some points in the video, a policeman was seen interviewing the boys. He asked who sent them (victims) to rob the area, an accusation they denied. One of the hoodlums, holding a sharp object attempted to cut off the private part of one of the victims.

Nwainokpor could be seen pleading with the hoodlums and policemen to spare his life, saying he could identify himself if given a chance. His plea, however, fell on deaf ears.

Our correspondent, who visited the family of Nwainokpor  on Tuesday, learnt that the lynching took place around 3pm on July 21, 2013 in Ajara area of Badagry, a community not far from Nwainokpor's family home.

His father, Samuel, told PUNCH Metro that his son was arrested while passing through a street in the area  but a misunderstanding later ensued and the hoodlums pounced on  him  and Kazeem.

He added that  Nwainokpor, who was nicknamed Ify, was a final year student of Geology and Mining.

He said,
"On that particular day, I was in Ghana when I received a telephone call  that I should come immediately. My wife was in Delta State taking care of her   mother.
"When I arrived two days later, my relatives and the caretaker of my house  told me that my son was killed in the Ajara area along with his friend. I was devastated.
"I got my son a  temporary job with a Customs licensed  agent since their lecturers were on strike.  He worked everyday except on Sundays when he visited his  friends. On that day, he went to see Kazeem and they were strolling around Ajara."
Samuel said because there had been a robbery in Ajara four days earlier, some of the residents were on the lookout for strange faces.

He added that when the youth  saw two unknown young men, they  accosted them and an argument ensued.He said the youth  called the head of the vigilante group   in the area, one Asiribo.

He said,
"Asiribo came to the scene with a locally-made pistol and handcuffs. He handcuffed my son and his friend  before asking them questions.
"Later, it was decided that the boys be taken to the Baale, Agano Oniyon of Agamade Ajara. But as they were going, Asiribo, while trying to return his gun into its  pouch, mistakenly shot himself in the stomach and died."
Samuel said Asiribo's death infuriated the youth, who  blamed the boys for  his  death.
"The mob picked up sticks  and beat them to death. Policemen were there,"   he  said.
Holding back tears, the retired immigration officer   added  that the police treated the matter as a robbery case. Beating  his chest,  Samuel said there was no way his son would have been involved in  armed robbery.

He said,
"I have been living in Badagry since 1982. I have  only two children and Ifechukwude  is the  first. Ironically, he was born in that same area where he was killed.
"I have lived in this area without any trouble and  the residents  can tell you that my sons are good  boys."
Nwainokpor's boss, Aloysius Onyenibedi, described him as an honest and hardworking person.
"I trusted him to the extent that I used to keep a lot of money with him. He was good to my children and was honest," he said.
The Nwainokpor family berated the Divisional Police Officer, Badagry Police Station,  Dankoli Mohammed, for the manner he treated the case.

Samuel said when he approached the DPO, he was told that his son was killed at midnight for armed robbery.

He said,
 "When the policemen came to take the corpses, guns were planted on them. Policemen at the station told the DPO that they were robbers. Their corpses were taken along with that Asiribo to Badagry General Hospital's mortuary.
"The following morning, the DPO released Asiribo's corpse for burial without investigation. My relatives went to the station and after showing the DPO the video, the matter was transferred to the Area K Command.
"At Present, Asiribo's son has fled, while the DPO has been unable to identify the policemen who were present at the scene when my son  and his friend were killed."
PUNCH Metro however learnt that through the video, some people had arrested one of the perpetrators. The suspect had been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department,  Panti, Yaba.

The spokesperson for the state police command, Ngozi Braide, said, "The incident is quite pathetic. Even if they were armed robbers, no one has the right to take the life of another. Why then do we have the police and the judiciary? The Nigerian police as well as the law condemn mob action and jungle justice. The commissioner of police has set up a high- powered investigation body to investigate the matter."

SATURDAY, June 22,2013, will for a long time remain indelible in the memory of Godwin Olah, 37, following an incident that claimed the life of his 28- year-old wife, Stella, during a row with a neighbour  identified as Stella Omoigiafo Gilbert (31). The suspect, a mother of one, allegedly pierced the heart of the deceased, a mother of three aged between six and three, with a knife after a scuffle in their compound.



The grieving husband of the deceased who hails from Obudu local Government Area of Cross River State, Godwin, told Crime Alert at their number 59, Ojora Street, Ajegunle, Lagos residence that the suspect also inflicted severe injuries on his wife's hand before piercing her heart resulting to her death. Amidst tears, he narrated his ordeal since the untimely death of his wife.

His story: "It happened that on June 22, 2013, at about 6pm, one of my sisters came calling on us. I decided to carry one small bench at the front of a neighbour's house for the visitor to sit inside our room. Immediately, Stella, our neighbour, rushed out of her room and accosted me, asking why I should carry the bench inside. The owner of the bench, on hearing our argument, came out and asked her to let us be, but she refused, instead she went inside, brought out hot water and poured on us. I reasoned that if I engage in a fight with her, it might result to some serious consequences, so, I went to the police station at Ajaromi and reported the case.

"On getting back to the house, I saw my wife lying on the corridor in front of our room. I shook her but no response came from her, and the lady that engaged her in a fight was nowhere to be found. Hence, I went back to the station the second time to report of her death. The Police sent an officer to accompany me and see things for herself.  The officer came, saw the lifeless body of my wife on the corridor and we went back to the station where she made her report.
The Police also requested that I get a report from the General Hospital here in Ajegunle. I took the body of my wife there and she was confirmed dead on arrival. There after, with the help of some good Samaritans around, I took her body to the Naval hospital mortuary, but she was rejected because we did not go with a police report.  I brought her back and laid her on the floor in our room until the next morning.
Then, I went back to the police station and was given a police van to convey her to Lagos Island mortuary. She has been at the morgue for a month and three days now. Since then, our children have been sleeping at their aunt's house, I go there every night to pass the night with them because they can't sleep if I am not there with them."
Crime Alert gathered from an eye witness that after the accused poured hot water on Godwin Olah and his visiting sister, his wife went to her room to accost her on why she should treat her husband and sister in-law in such manner, a fight ensued between both women and in the process, the accused tried to drag the deceased to the stove where she was cooking to burn her, but when she discovered she could not drag Stella Godwin (the deceased) to the fire, she brought out a knife and pierced through her right arm and her heart.
"Stella died as a result of the knife wound on her heart; the fight was so fierce that we all took off, returning only to see Stella Godwin lying in a pool of her blood on the corridor in front of their room," the eye witness said.
Another neighbour also told Crime Alert on condition of anonymity that there have been a no- love -lost relationship between the two neighbours.
 "Before that incident, both neighbours had lived like cat and rat in this compound. They quarrelled at the slightest misunderstanding. I wish they listened to us, this would have been averted."
Genesis: 
Tracing the genesis of the quarrel between his family and the suspect, the husband of the victim also said he fell out with the accused who also shared the same first name (Stella) with his deceased wife, after he prevented her from using a knife on her (the suspect) sister during a scuffle. "I have lived in this compound for 20 years now. I was here when she rented her room. We lived as good neighbours, she was best of friends with my wife. It wasl the day I stopped the lady from using a knife to inflict injuries on her sister during a fight that she saw me, my wife and our children as enemies, " he stated.
It was gathered that the body of the deceased has been conveyed to her home town in Obudu- Akwa-Ibom state for burial; while the accused Stella Omoigiafo Gilbert was remanded in prison custody after she was arraigned at the magistrate court in Ebute Metta.

Funke Akindele's enstranged husband recently revealed he was building a one-storey building for her before she left.According to a report by E24-7 magazine,this is what the real situation is.
"That place is not for me, I have been through hell and back," she told E24-7MAGAZINE on Friday.
"I was abused emotionally and verbally. Really, I felt we could work things out when the trouble started two months after the marriage, but I made up my mind and shut the door of the marriage at him when the trouble was coming to me too much. I stooped to conquer him; buried my fame and name to make him my husband, but it did not work.
At a point in time, I asked if it's not the same man that was all over me before we married. He nearly got me off my career. He called me severally; I did not pick his calls but when he realized my silence was tormenting him, he took to Facebook. It's alright. Ask him when did he come to my house last? He left me here in my rented apartment with nothing and he will just dash in and dash out. He gets abusive, caustic anytime we have a misunderstanding and often told me to my face, he's going to his wife in Oshodi."
At Oshodi, she said, she received a warm welcome from the wife, Fadekemi, but constant humiliation from Kehinde.
"She was really loved by the kids at home; she enjoyed taking them out to eateries and stores. Sometimes, they spent the weekend with her and she followed them to school. The children will surely miss her," our source, close to the family, said. Now that the cookie has crumbled, Kehinde, she said has been calling and sending text messages begging her to come back.
"He sent me sms that he has seen a buyer for his house at Adeniyi Jones for N40million. He asked me if he should sell it and that if he does, he will buy me a new car and a rent me a new apartment. Why now? I don't need all that, I want my sanity."

After she ignored him, he sent her another text abusing her and calling her names. "So you can see that he does not mean well for me," she re-iterated. E24-7 checks frevealed as at Saturday evening Kehinde was combing the nooks and crannies of Ikorodu to locate Funke's dad's house. He boasted: "I will do anything to win my wife back."
