| Breaking News! FIFA Suspends Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Posted: 09 Jul 2014 12:59 PM PDT  Fifa has suspended the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) on grounds of "government interference". The NFF was voted out of office on Saturday after being accused of mis-managing the nation's World Cup campaign. Keep up with all the latest news from Brazil and get involved in the debate on Twitter with our new World Cup Social Hub Nigeria's government have appointed a sole administrator for the NFF despite Fifa's warning of a potential suspension if the old leadership power was not restored. The decision to change leadership was made after a Nigerian High Court in Jos had granted an order of interlocutory injunction to suspend elected NFF president Aminu Maigari, his executive committee and the NFF congress. Maigari was also arrested upon his arrival from the World Cup but later released. The suspension means that no side from Nigeria of any sort [including clubs] can take part in international competition. During the ban, the NFF "may not be represented in any regional, continental or international competitions, including at club level, or in friendly matches". Fifa state that the sanction will be lifted once the court actions have been withdrawn. Statement from Fifa in full: The FIFA Emergency Committee has decided today, 9 July 2014, to suspend the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) with immediate effect, on account of government interference. Article 13, par. 1 and article 17, par. 1 of the FIFA Statutes oblige member associations to manage their affairs independently and with no influence from third parties. The decision follows a letter sent by FIFA to the NFF on 4 July 2014, in which it expressed its great concern after the NFF was served with court proceedings and consequently an order preventing the president of the NFF, the NFF Executive Committee members and the NFF Congress from running the affairs of Nigerian football was granted by a High Court of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The said court order compelled the Nigerian Minister of Sports to appoint a senior member of the civil service to manage the NFF until the matter was heard in court, without giving any date for such a hearing. The authorities then appointed a person who decided to convene an extraordinary general assembly on 5 July 2014. This extraordinary general assembly was convened in violation of the NFF statutes. Originally, an elective congress had been planned by the NFF to take place on 26 August 2014. The suspension will be lifted once the court actions have been withdrawn and the properly elected NFF Executive Committee, the NFF general assembly and the NFF administration are able to work without any interference in their affairs. As a result of this decision, no team from Nigeria of any sort (including clubs) can have any international sporting contact (art. 14 par. 3 of the FIFA Statutes). During the period of suspension, the NFF may not be represented in any regional, continental or international competitions, including at club level, or in friendly matches. The most immediate effect is that Nigeria will not be entitled to participate in the upcoming FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup (5-24 August 2014) should the suspension not be lifted by 15 July 2014. | Uncovered: How Nigerian Soldiers Penetrate Boko Haram Kingpin’s Home In Kaduna! [Photos] Posted: 09 Jul 2014 12:50 PM PDT  The Defense Headquarters in Abuja has revealed how Nigerian military men gained entrance into the home of a Boko Haram kingpin reportedly killed during a shootout in Kaduna, the capital of Kaduna State on Sunday, 6 July, 2014. Sahara Reporters, quoting a senior military officer, stated that the security operatives had to dig a tunnel to gain entry into the home of the Boko Haram kingpin before he was killed in an exchange of gunfire at his home located in the Kinkinau area of Kaduna town. According to the report, the military officer disclosed that the Islamist kingpin and a few lower level terrorists had fled Boko Haram's violence-prone northeast to different locations before arriving in Kaduna where they resettled with their families. It was gathered that terrorist kingpin and his cohorts had adapted themselves into their community in Kaduna before they were discovered and their eventual death. The unnamed source informed that the deceased had started gathering guns and explosives-manufacturing ingredients before security agents traced them to their location based on vital information revealed by Boko Haram militants under military detention.  The officer added that Nigerian troops fighting Boko Haram deserved commendation instead of unjustifiable criticism. While pointing to the house where the late Islamist terrorist kingpin was found and killed, the military source said: "You can now see the sacrifice our troops are making for the preservation of Nigeria's sovereignty and territory. The terrorists were hiding here for months until our breakthrough." The officer added: "Our soldiers had to dig a hole to enter the house as you can see. The [Boko Harm] men gave our soldiers a tough time, but we triumphed over them." While declining to answer some questions thrown at him, the source stated: "I have brought you here from Abuja to see what we have done, because the men we killed here had their hands in several severe attacks carried out by [Boko Haram] in the northeast and other parts of the North. "Just imagine what they would have done in Kaduna and surrounding areas if they were able to establish a footing here." The officer pointed out that the Nigerian Army was making greater use of intelligence gathering and deploying other innovative methods in its campaign to combat the attacks of Boko Haram insurgents. Meanwhile, the Nation reports that several school certificates and SIM cards were recovered from the building where the Boko Haram suspect was captured. According to the report, when newsmen visited the scene there were blood stains and several bullet holes on the wall and ceiling. Though there has been no official statement from either the Army or the police about the whereabouts of the family of the late terrorist, but there is speculation that his family members moved out of the house after he was killed. It was gathered that the magnitude of exchange of fire between the terrorists and the soldiers almost caused crisis between the police and soldiers because the police were not aware of the operation. One of the residents in the area said: "We never knew that the man was a member of the organisation. A lot of certificates belonging to their members and a large number of SIM cards were recovered from the house.  "When we heard the gunshots, we thought that it was robbers and so we called the police. The police headed to the place. When the soldiers heard the siren, they quickly identified themselves. A blood fight was prevented because the police would have engaged them thinking they were robbers." The District Head of Ungwan Muazu, Aliyu Idris, called on landlords to be security conscious and ensure the true identity of their tenants. | Taraba State Accountant-General Arrested For N1.56billion Fraud! [Photos] Posted: 09 Jul 2014 10:15 AM PDT  The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission today arraigned the Taraba State Accountant – General, Joel Joseph Lenbang, before Justice Donatus Nwabueze Okorowo of the Federal High Court Jalingo for defrauding Taraba State Government to the tune of N1.56 billion. He was docked on an 8-count charge bordering on obtaining by false pretense, offenses contrary to and punishable under the Advanced Fee Fraud and Other Related Offences Act, 2006. When the charges were read to him, the accused person pleaded not guilty. The malfeasance came to light following a petition received from a concerned Taraba State indigene, sometime in February 2014, alleging massive looting of Taraba state funds. The petition triggered investigation of the lifestyle of some of the officers mentioned in the petition and who were believed to be living above their means. The investigation uncovered systematic withdrawal of state funds through a scheme mastermind by the accountant - general of the State, Joel Lengbang. Withdrawals were allegedly made under the guise that such monies were used for sundry payments on behalf of ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs), as well as payment of Bank Commissions on Turn over (COT) and Value Added Tax (VAT) which became a monthly affair. A total sum of N1,567,226,557.081 (one billion, five hundred and sixty seven million, two hundred and twenty six thousand, five hundred and fifty seven naira, eighty one kobo) was discovered to have been looted from the state treasury between January 2012 and December 2013. In view of the plea of the accused, prosecuting counsel, Al Qasim Ja'afar applied for a date to commence trial. Counsel to accused, Abayomi Akamode, however, informed the court that he had filed a motion for bail this morning and urged the court hear it. But Al Qasim told the court that he was just served the motion on notice in court and would need time to peruse and respond appropriately. Justice Okorowo adjourned the case till July 11, 2014 for hearing of the bail application and remanded the accused in prison custody. Boko Haram Makes World's Top Seven Richest Terrorist Group [SEE FULL LIST] Posted: 09 Jul 2014 09:58 AM PDT  Terrorism like any other form of organized crime, is also highly strategic, deliberate, and calculative. Some of the wealthiest terrorist organizations(WTO) out there have been ranked and Boko Haram comes 7th, according to estimates reported in the media, bringing to light the dark reality of the profits they've reaped at the expense of other people's lives. See full list below.. 7. Boko Haram: Over $70 million The Boko Haram are a Nigerian terrorist group who fight to overthrow the Nigerian government in order to implement an Islamist regime. They have bombed UN headquarters and most recently abducted over 200 Nigerian school girls in defense of their namesake "Western Education is Sin". Since they've remained off the radar since their recent attacks, it's unclear just how much money they make from their numerous kidnappings and the subsequent ransoms they procure. It has been determined, however, that between 2006-2011, they collected over $70 million. 6. Lashkar-e-Tayyiba: $100 million a year The Lashkar E Taiba, who call like to call themselves the "Army of The Righteous", was founded in the 1990′s. They're a militant group originating from Pakistan who also wreak havoc on India. Hypocritically enough, apart from raging war and killing hundreds of civilians, they also establish several charitable organizations in Pakistan, like hospitals and schools. Regardless, their extremist ideals and murderous ways of executing them render them a deadly threat. Their annual revenue is estimated to be around $100 million, much of which is funded through donations from affiliate parties. 5. FARC: $80-$350 million a year The Marxist guerrilla group, Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia—People's Army (FARC) has been around since the 1960's. They've been dubbed a terrorist threat in their country due to the numerous kidnappings, assassinations, and bombings they've executed on Columbian citizens in the name of anti-imperialism. Apart from the money the make from collecting ransoms and through extortion, FARC also produces and sells vast quantities of illegal drugs that further fuel their high annual revenue. 4. Al-Qaeda: Over $100 million a year Founded by Osama Bin Ladin, the global Islamist militant organization, Al-Qaeda, a name which translates to 'The Base" has been around since the 1980s. Having attacked several civilian and military regions, Al-Qaeda is well known around the world as one of the largest and deadliest terrorist groups. Suicide bombings are among their favorite tactics of destruction. What makes this group such a tough force to combat, is the fact that they have wide-spread, terrorist group allies. Before their 9/11 attack on the World Trade Center in New York City, the CIA estimated that Al-Qaeda made well over $30 million a year, raised mostly through donations; today, that number has surely increased. Bin Ladin was himself a multimillionaire at the time he founded the organization and about $10-15 million was reportedly paid annually to the Taliban while he was leader. 3. Taliban: Over $400 million The infamous Taliban of Afghanistan secures the obscenely profitable annual revenue of over $400 million from expansive drug trade, human trafficking, extortion, as well as a large amount of donations from foreign organizations that support their ill-gotten empire. The Taliban are responsible for a huge opium production operation in Afghanistan that heavily contributes to an estimated $70-$400 million that they rake in annually from illicit drug trade alone. 2. IRA: Over $450 million The Irish Republican Army (IRA) has been dubbed one of the more prominent professional money laundering organizations in Europe. Originating as a revolutionary group fighting for Irish independence from Britain, the IRA fought for political control for several decades. They are considered a terrorist group due to countless bombings and assassinations attributed to them during the revolt against imposing British rule in Ireland. They now own numerous small businesses throughout the UK and allegedly use the profits to fuel their criminal acts, according to Ireland's organized crime task-force. The IRA also builds significant revenue through drugs, tax fraud, robberies, smuggling and counterfeiting. In 2013, the Irish Independent reported that the IRA were connected to the Italian mafia to the tune of 450 million euro in property assets – this is only one link that has been made public, and prompts theorizing as to the groups further mafia links both in Italy and elsewhere. It has been estimated – as per a 2005 Guardian report – that the IRA have made the equivalent of $17 million yearly in organised crime operations like smuggling. Since the ceasefire in Ireland as a result of the Good Friday Agreement in 1999, the group are officially decommissioned and in 2005 they announced an official end to their campaign, but reports of illegal, underground money-making activities spearheaded by the group persist. 1. ISIS: $2 billion The Islamic State in Iraq and Syria, more commonly known as ISIS – which was once a part of Al Qaeda – has been dubbed the richest terrorist group to date. The jihadist militant group has recently made headlines after one of their most prominent leaders (who was captured by Iraqi officials) spilled the secrets of their exploits and uncovered the grim reality of their obscene wealth. ISIS is worth an estimated $2 billion, much of this money coming from looted weapons and bank robberies. Having stripped a broken Syria of its oil reserves and even priceless artifacts from archaeological sites, ISIS has secured an enormous wealth from crime. The group comprised of thousands of members is still a very active threat, having killed thousands of civilians and government agents and still running rampant within a highly sophisticated infrastructure. | Posted: 09 Jul 2014 09:50 AM PDT  The Police in Nsukka, Enugu State, recently, arrested a 53-year-old man who claims to be the Pastor of Ministry of the Holy Trinity in Umudikwere community whom they alleged specializes in impregnating married women and young girls in his ministry. Police sources alleged that the Pastor identified as Timothy Ngwu, the General Overseer of Ministry, s*xually abuse female members of the ministry and claim that the Holy Spirit directs him to do so in the name of God. How it was blown open Crime Alert gathered that the alleged s*xual exploits of the self-acclaimed man of God was blown open when his estranged wife, Veronica Ngwu, who hails from Udi L.G.A and have three children for the pastor, could no longer stomach the s*xual rascality of her husband. She reportedly lodged complaint with the Anti- Child Trafficking Unit of the Criminal Investigation Department, Enugu, which led to the arrest of Timothy Ngwu, for alleged s*x and child abuses/trafficking. Veronica, the estranged wife of the suspect reportedly informed the police that she escaped from the ministry with one of her daughters when her husband impregnated her niece and claimed he was obeying the directives of the Holy Spirit and a prophetic revelation. She also informed detectives led by Gloria Udoka (DSP) that the situation at the Vineyard ministry of the Holy Trinity was better imagined than seen alleging that her husband converts married women and single girls to his own and impregnates all of them while pretending to be obeying spiritual directives. His claims The Pastor allegedly claimed that the women he had s*xual intercourse with in his ministry was as a result of directives from the Holy Spirit and with the consent of their husband, if married, but for the single, a spiritual directive. Ngwu who until his arrest, was a Scrutiny Officer and Statistician with National Bureau of statistics, one time Assistant Catechist at St. John's Catholic Church, Ihe- Owerre, Nsukka and now General Overseer, Vineyard Ministry of the Holy Trinity, Umudikwere, Nsukka where he inducts married women and young girls seeking for solution or favor but ends up impregnating them. Police statement The police in Enugu also alluded to the allegations when it issued a statement through the Public Relations Officer, DSP Ebere Amarizu, stating that two women, among others in the enclave of the vineyard, left their husband to reside with the General Overseer. According to the statement, the two women identified as Calista Omeje and Assumpta Odo, confirmed that they left their husbands to live with the General Overseer on the prophetic injunction to do the will of God. The statement noted that Calista revealed that she had 10 children for her husband but was later impregnated by the General Overseer (Timothy)while the baby died later. Calista also said that she gave out her daughter to the General Overseer to be impregnated, an act she described as "the fulfillment of the will of God." Amarizu noted in the statement that the Pastor said he had five wives with 13 children apart from other concubines who he had, courtesy of the prophetic direction to do the will of God. "Timothy Ngwu said that Veronica used to be his wife but described her as a falling wife." He also said, "I do not do anything with any married woman until the full consent and agreement were sought and reached between the husband in line with the directives of the Holy Spirit to do the will of God, which is an act of spirituality." Inside the Ministry When Crime Alert traced the Vineyard Ministry of the Holy Trinity, it was discovered to be located right inside the compound of the father of the General Overseer without any sign post, while about 15 women and four men were seen taking lessons from an elderly woman who acts as an instructor in the vineyard. The entrance to the ministry was barricaded with a heavy iron gate which restricts non- members from gaining entry. Our reporter who refused to turn back when he was told by one man who identified himself as Hillary, that the General Overseer traveled out of town after a heated argument on the mission of the reporter to the ministry, peeped through an opening at the gate when Hillary left to invite others to compel him to leave the premises. A large number of children and adult women were seen scattered inside the compound barricaded with the iron gate. A neighbor reacts Neighbors, however, intimated Crime Alert that everything in the ministry were shrouded in secrecy as children born there were allegedly confined within the ministry and denied communication with any other person outside, neither do the children have access to receive formal education, except the doctrine of the ministry. …Brother too A brother to the self-acclaimed General Overseer who pleaded anonymity told Crime Alert that he was not surprised that police invaded the ministry, explaining that all warnings by members of Ngwu family to compel Timothy to desist from the act fell on deaf ears. "Let me tell you, God's anger has befallen my brother, we have severally appealed to him to stop what he was doing but he refused. He has colonized our compound, bearing children with recklessness. He accused us of being jealous of him because he is doing the will of God," he stated. Lamentations Nodding his head in disgust he continued, "look at these buildings here, he has converted all of them to himself in the name of vineyard. I can't say exactly what informed his spirit to the devilish act in the name of God. He sacked his betrothed wife who has three children for him and embarked on impregnating married women and young girls. Look at the whole compound littered with children of different s*x and age. "How can an educated man of his status reason like an unrefined man? All members of the vineyard are fools, how can a woman abandon her husband for another man in the name of worshiping God and practice adultery? I cannot get myself involved in this matter; Vero has opened the vessel of worms in the vineyard. Let them sort themselves out with the police but I want the ministry to be shut down completely," he explained. Excommunication Investigations also revealed that the General Overseer was chased out of the St. John's Catholic church, Ihe/Owerre Nsukka as an assistant catechist when Bishop Emeritus of Nsukka Catholic Diocese, Rt. Rev. Dr. Francis Okobo, discovered that he was teaching heresy, called him to order but he wouldn't listen and was excommunicated by the Catholic church, which led to the establishment of the Vineyard Ministry of the Holy Trinity where all manner of s*xual styles were practiced by the General Overseer of the ministry. Posted: 09 Jul 2014 07:19 AM PDT  Tolani Ajayi, the 21-year-old undergraduate who killed his father, has said he is ready to face the consequences of his action. While speaking with Journalists today at Eleweran Police Headquarters, Abeokuta where he has been remanded, Tolani said he hacked his father, a lawyer and Senior Advocate of Nigeria to death because he was angry about his father's action. According to him, they had an argument and his father hit him with a stick which made him attack him with a kitchen knife and cutlass which later led to his death. The producer was said to have promised the teenager to get her a movie role, Apparently, the Producer promised to feature the girl in one of the top movies in Ghana. According to information gathered, The producer went further to convince the girl to sleep with him to enable him put her name on the final list. The naive little girl accepted his proposition and then went to meet him at an unknown location. After sleeping with the teenager, the producer didn't feature her on the movie. The so-called Movie Producer is allegedly known for sleeping around with small girls with promises of featuring them in movies. The father of the girl found out about what happened to his daughter and then went straight to the producer's house with Police to arrest him. Every morning we wake up, we place our two feet on the floor and head to our destination without thinking of the hundreds and thousands of steps we'll be taking that day. It's not until we come across stories like little Kayden Elijah Kinckle's plight that we realize how blessed we really are. This viral video of 2-year-old boy amputee Kayden Elijah Kinckle walking for the first time will not only only melt your heart but make you cry. Kayden is a beautiful 2-year-old boy who was born with Omphalocele, a rare birth defect which caused him to be born with his organs outside of his body. That was unfortunately not the only challenge, while in his mother's womb, his feet was tangled on the umbilical cord and pinned under his mother's pelvic bone. Kayden was born with a deformity and had to undergo surgery to amputate his legs in January. Now Kayden is learning how to walk with prosthetics. His mom shared this emotional video of her 2-year-old taking his first steps with the help of a walker a few days ago. In the tear-jerking clip, Kayden nearly falls while still getting used to his prosthetics. But the little champion powers through, repeating "I got it! I got it!" as he carefully walks down the hall. It's moments like this that makes us appreciative of the simple things of life – like walking. I still continued with the pregnancy even though I was warned against it and told that my son wouldn't walk and would have many problems; "but" "God said everything would be alright" I delivered early so the omphalocele wasn't as big as predicted, his spine and hip bones were fine and mentally there were no issues. Cult Members Shoot Final Year UNILAG Student In The Head On Campus (Graphic Photo) Posted: 09 Jul 2014 06:37 AM PDT A student was reportedly shot in the head by unidentified gunmen on Monday at the King Jaja Hall area of the University of Lagos, Lagos State. The student who was identified as Sapara, a final year student of Philosophy, had his face covered in blood after a bullet was said to have scraped the side of his head. Top StoriesHe was subsequently taken to the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Idi-Araba, and official report had it that he was in stable condition. The incident however led to chaos as students were seen running in different directions after the gunshot was heard. Eyewitnesses say they saw a car speed off after the shooting, noting that the perpetrators might have carried out the attack from there. Speaking in an interview with our correspondent, the Dean of Students' Affairs of the University, Prof. Olukayode Amund, confirmed that Sapara was indeed shot and currently recuperating at LUTH. He stated that investigations had begun to unravel the circumstances surrounding the attack, after which requisite actions would be taken. He said, "The events surrounding the incident are still unknown and by the time we conclude our investigation, the university authority will take the necessary and appropriate action. Our security operatives are working very hard to unravel the mystery and whoever is responsible will be held to account." When asked whether the attack was carried out by cultists, Amund noted that though it was not yet confirmed, it was a likely possibility.
