INCREDIBLE! Is this proof that unborn babies feel mother's stress? [PHOTOS]# Posted: 03 Jun 2014 10:00 AM PDT    It ought to be the most tranquil of sights – the face of an unborn child in  the womb. But the tiny hand pulled up to the chin reveals that, upsettingly, this baby appears to be under stress. The remarkable image was taken as part of a study showing unborn children touch their faces more often if their mother has been anxious, helpless or under pressure. Researchers believe they are picking up on her anxieties – and then trying to soothe them away with the power of touch. As adults, we do this by holding our head in our hands. But while we use both hands, babies of stressed-out mothers preferred the touch of just one. Although previous studies have found babies pick up on stress in the womb, this is believed to be the first to offer  photographic evidence. Researcher Nadja Reissland from Durham University gave 15 mothers-to-be 4D ultrasound scans four times during their pregnancy. Rather than the grainy, 'flat' images produced by the 2D scanners usually used by the NHS, a 4D machine stitches together pictures taken from a variety of angles to create clear three-dimensional pictures. The mothers-to-be were quizzed on their  levels of stress in the month leading up to each scan and the videos were analysed to see how often the unborn babies touched their faces. In total, the eight girls and seven boys did so 342 times. The more anxious the woman was, the more the unborn child mopped its brow, the journal Laterality: Asymmetries of Body, Brain and Cognition reported. Dr Reissland believes that the babies were picking up on an increase in the stress hormone cortisol being  produced by their mothers. The study also found those whose mothers had been under pressure were more likely to use their left hand when touching their face. This is significant because attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, autism, depression and schizophrenia all more common in people who are left-handed. Dr Reissland said: 'Most mothers are fine and needn't worry but some will need to think about reducing their stress.' Top Stories Awww! The Best First Class Seats In The World! [Photos] Posted: 03 Jun 2014 10:00 AM PDT   Over the last several months, the airline industry has introduced a spate of new designs and concepts in the premium cabin space. With profitability returning to the sector and new airframes like the Boeing and the Airbus A350 coming onto the market, many carriers are taking the opportunity to retrofit their cabins and cater to wealthier economies. Though many would dispute the profitability of first and business class cabins in long-haul travel (indeed, premium economy has proven to be more lucrative) there's much more at stake in these design updates than simple revenue — there's image. Despite the fact that most economy cabins are similar from carrier to carrier, passengers enjoy the concept of flying on a premium airline and a positive image leads to better sales overall. Perhaps for this reason, many carriers are choosing to go over-the-top in their designs. United Arab Emirates-based Etihad, which this month announced three-room residences  in its upcoming Airbus A380 first class, is including showers in each suite.    Their suites feature an enormous 125 square feet of personal space. Etihad's moves may be in response to recent updates from Singapore Airlines to improve their in-cabin experience. Indeed, the redesigned 777-300 cabin from Singapore that we toured late last year has been so successful that all current 777-300′s in their fleet are being updated with the new design. The first class seat now being retrofitted into all Singapore Airlines 777-300s.  Korean-based Asiana chose to embed magicians to help augment its new first class service on their upcoming A380, though the onboard lounge area and the 32 personal screens may be the best part about that cabin.   Air France, on the other hand, has opted to go with a more muted, elegant approach to their first class cabins which feature lightly colored, refined appointments. Their cabins will start coming into service in September of 2014. Despite all of the investments in ultra-luxury, some carriers are choosing to reinforce their business class cabins and skip the first class offerings altogether. Qatar Airways, the flag carrier of Qatar, chose to install "super" business class cabins in all of its upcoming B787 and A350 aircraft. According to Australian Business Traveller, the airline chose this configuration because most of their premium travel is in the business class cabin. Still, many carriers, particularly those in the transatlantic market, have a long way to go towards refreshing their premium cabins. Stockholm-based SAS just announced an upgrade to their business cabin that brings it up to speed with the best products in its market. Per their release, the cabin will feature new inflight entertainment systems, WiFi and an "ultra modern" design. Retrofits of their A330 and A340 fleet are scheduled to go into service in 2015.   When Air Canada eventually chooses to use its new 787 for transatlantic travel, however, they may carry the best business class product in that market. Their cabins feature secluded, lie flat seats with massaging headrests, a unique feature in inflight amenities. Shocking! Army Court Finds 10 Generals & 5 Other Senior Officers Guilty Of Aiding Boko Haram! Posted: 03 Jun 2014 07:31 AM PDT    No fewer than 15 senior military officers including 10 generals have been tried before a court-martial and found guilty of giving information and ammunition to Boko Haram terrorists. In the recent past, the Army and the Defence headquarters have raised the alarm that some of their officers and men are leaking official information to the terrorists and that some of them have been arrested and arraigned before some court-martials in some army divisions in the north. Military sources told Leadership that some of them who were tried at their division levels still have hope until the final review of the judgement at the headquarters in Abuja. "There are a lot of arrests that have been made over some officers who were sabotaging the ongoing counter-insurgency operations. The suspects include about 10 generals and other ranks, not to talk of soldiers who have been found culpable of sabotaging our operations. They are facing trial before court-martials set up by their divisions; some have been found guilty, and some are still facing trial. Once the court martial rule, the recommendations are forwarded to the Army Headquarters or Defence Headquarters as the case may be," a source disclosed. Another top security source told our correspondent that four senior soldiers were found guilty of being disloyal and for working for the members of the sect. "Four generals have been court-martialed for divulging high-class security information to the members of the sect. They were found guilty of leaking military strategies to the Boko Haram people. This was why many soldiers have been ambushed and killed by the Boko Haram," the source added. Our source who could not disclose the names of these generals simply said some senior military officers and soldiers from a particular section of the country are deeply involved in the treasonable acts. "They have been found guilty of also collaborating with some top politicians in the country to make the country ungovernable for selfish reasons. A lot of re-organisation is going on in the military. Many generals will go. Some will be court-martialed and some will be forcefully retired," he added. "The movement of our troops in the north-east have been leaked to the Boko Haram by many of our colleagues, but the Defence headquarters has realized that and is seriously considering redeployment of some senior officers out of the north-east." The army had, on Sept. 19, 2013, said its 3 Division had set up a general martial court to try erring officers and soldiers. During a press briefing, the then director, army public relations, Brigadier General Ibrahim Attahiru, said the new court would instil discipline and professionalism among its troops based on Army Headquarters' directives. The court under general commanding officer Ebiobowei Awala was inaugurated on April 22 at Rhino Officers Mess, Maxwell Khobe Cantonment, Jos, and has tried nine soldiers for various offences ranging from murder to manslaughter. But it was not clear at the time of fielding this report whether the generals were court -martialed by the same court. Although efforts to confirm from the Defence Headquarters' spokesman, Major General Chris Olukolade, did not yield any result, a top serving general in the DHQ said a lot of trials were indeed going on: "A lot is happening. Those suspected are being tried, and this is why it is difficult to confirm or deny the story. No Time! Pakistani Police Cuts off hands of two men accused of theft! [Photo] Posted: 03 Jun 2014 07:19 AM PDT    Two men have been left writhing in pain after Pakistani police chopped off their left hands .They were accused of  stealing electrical wire and mobile phones.and reportedly refused to confess to their crimes. They were brought to the hospital 8 hours after their hands were cut off.. However,Ghulam Mustafa, 38, and Liaquat Ali, 42, accused police of hacking off their hands with a large butcher's knife, despite their innocence.Mustafa told Reuters from his hospital bed... 'Four or five policemen held me down and cut my hand. I fainted from the pain.Liaquat and I were arrested eight days ago after people falsely accused us of stealing and handed us over to the police who beat us and tortured us.Then on Friday, they did this.' Police disputed their version of the story, telling Reuters the accused men cut their own hands with razor blades in a suicide attempt. ' Aamir Ahmed, head of the emergency ward, told Reuters. This looks like the work of an axe or similar tool. These are not self-inflicted wounds,Mustafa arrived with his hand cut off completely and one of the policemen carried it in a plastic bag.Ali's hand had also been cut but was still attached to his arm. I’m Not Surprised People Don’t Believe Me, After All They Didn’t Believe Jesus When He Was Here- Soul E! Posted: 03 Jun 2014 06:49 AM PDT    Soul E in an exclusive chat with Nigeriafilms has said he is not surprised that people do not believe his prophesies, after all a lot of them didn't believe Jesus when he was on earth and even killed him. He also says he no longer sings, but ministers and he is very different from the Soul E most people used to know. According to him, TB Joshua behaves like Christ and he is the only man of God he loves with all his heart. Hear all these and more from the prophet after the cut. What do you think is the reason people don't believe your prophesies? Well to answer your question, I am Prophet Emmanuel Ifechukwude people know me as prophet Soul E. I am not called for everyone, I am call to nations not just Nigeria. When my master Jesus was on earth, people did not believe him and with all he did, they still killed him. So, it's expected that some people will not believe. It does not bother me and it does not change the fact that God is using me for those that believe. Well-spoken prophet. ASUU UniAbuja begins indefinite strike! Posted: 03 Jun 2014 06:00 AM PDT    The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) University of Abuja Chapter has begun an indefinite strike to draw attention to developments in the institution since after the work of the visitation panel. The union announced its decision on Monday after a meeting held at the mini campus of the institution. The Chairman of the branch, Mr Ben Ugheoke, told newsmen in Gwagwalada that the union had resolved to embark on an indefinite strike beginning from Monday. He said that the Federal Government on July 16, 2012 constituted a visitation panel to resolve issues affecting the institution but the white paper of the report had yet to be released. Ugheoke alleged that facts available to the union showed that funds allocated to the institution were being misappropriated, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof James Adelabu, was misusing power. He alleged that the vice-chancellor deliberately refused to pay their teaching, marking, supervision and professional allowances dating back to 2010. The union also alleged that the vice-chancellor refused to check off their dues. " The vice-chancellor in April 2013 checked off our dues as it is mandated by the Trade Union Act and some levies but the fund was yet to be remitted to the union's account. "He later stopped the check off dues from May 2013 claiming that there was a circular to that effect. He did that because he wants to cripple the union. " We feel that the white paper should be released so that the university through its council would effectively implement its recommendations immediately because a lot of issues are contained in it," the chairman said. See their report below Nigerian energy mogul Femi Otedola has become at least $398 million richer between March 3 and June 2 as shares of Forte Oil PLC, a Nigerian Stock Exchange-listed energy distributor, surged 167% in that period. Forte Oil PLC is primarily engaged in the distribution of petroleum products such as diesel, aviation fuel and Premium Motor Spirit (PMS). The company has over 500 company-owned, dealer-assisted and dealer-developed gas stations spread across the country, oil storage depots in Lagos and Rivers states, a Power plant and a Joint User Hydrant Installation facility in Lagos. The company also sells its own range of automobile lubricants. On March 3, the company's stock was trading at N88.4 ($0.55), and at the close of trading today (Monday), its share price was N235.79 ($1.46). According to Akinbamidele Akintola, Vice President, Africa equity sales at Renaissance Capital, the recent unprecedented demand and surge in Forte Oil's shares may not be unconnected to the company's recent inclusion in the Morgan Stanley MS +0.13% Capital International (MSCI ) Frontier Market 100 Index. Listing in such indexes usually attracts interest from global investors who track these companies. Otedola became the largest shareholder in Forte Oil (formerly called African Petroleum) in 2007 when he acquired a 28.7% stake in the company from the government-owned oil company, the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) for $120 million. He subsequently appointed himself as chairman of the company. Otedola, 47, has gobbled up additional shares over the years and now owns more than 40% of the $1.5 billion (Market Capitalization) company. According to information available from registrar sources, he currently owns 436,809,537 shares valued at N103 billion ($635 million). He pocketed at least $11 million in dividends from profits made by his company in February as Forte Oil paid shareholders a dividend of N4 ($0.0023) per ordinary share from its 2013 profits.
