Pastor Ralph Okebu (47) and his wife Prophetess (Mrs) Caroline Okebu are presently at loggerheads over ownership of their church, Victory Pentecostal Ministries International Incorporated based in Enugu state.
Right now, the church is divided into two factions. Members who belong to the camp of Pastor Ralph Okebu (47) turn up in the morning while those who hold allegiance to his wife, Prophetess (Mrs) Caroline Okebu (51) attend in the afternoon.
Before the worship arrangement was arrived at, congregants on both sides had fought physically over the use of the church auditorium located at Km 1 Enugu – Onitsha Expressway. According to a source, it took the intervention of the police to restore some form of order in the church, adding that policemen were stationed in the premises for two Sundays to avoid bloodshed.
Narrating how the crisis began, a lawyer who happens to be the church administrator, Chuks Okonkwo, said told SUN "A problem arose in the Church about last year… it followed a prophecy that was released by the prophetess in the ministry, Prophetess Caroline Okebu.
Part of these prophecies touched on the general wellbeing of the Church while a part of it touched on certain members of the Church, including the head pastor, Pastor Ralph Okebu. But the personal message that touched on Pastor Ralph Okebu could be seen to be what led to the factionalisation of the Church because in his own thinking, such a message shouldn't have been revealed on the pulpit and the message had to deal with his amorous relationship with some female members of the church. And it was a warning. "
And that was how the war began!
Continuing, the lawyer said "...the police came in and the Enugu State Commissioner of Police personally took over the matter and was mediating. So, as this lasted, the police at some point, about three months ago, decided with the leadership of both factions that the Ralph Okebu led group should be having morning service to dismiss at 12noon while the Prophetess Caroline led group should have their own service thereafter.
As a result of the crises, Pastor Ralph Okebu and Prophetess Caroline Okebu are no longer living together, Okonkwo said.
At 10.46am on April 11, 2014, Sunday Sun called Pastor Okebu on his mobile phone to fix an interview appointment with him, so that he can state his own side of the story. But he said he was in the village because his children were on holiday, promising to call the reporter when he gets back to Enugu the following day.
Having waited for his call till 5.30pm the following day to no avail, the reporter called his number again without response. At 5.32pm, the reporter sent him an SMS but he did not reply. The SMS reads: "Good evening sir. Are you back? I'm still waiting for your call." He is yet to call.

Its true that humility comes from within and not even money can change that about a person. It always clear that it's the poor people that like to live like they own the world American rapper Drake said in one of his songs,
"I like when money makes a difference but don't make you different," he must have been talking about billionaire businessman, Femi Otedola.
Femi Otedola was spotted holding some very cheap Nokia phones while attending the funeral of his late father; Sir Michael Otedola, Encomium reports.
The phones were a Nokia 6230 which is sold for about N5,000 and the other, a Nokia E50, which is said to be around N7,000.

Singer Etcetera is back with another controversial piece: It all started around 2000 AD, just right after the millennium bug had been crushed. A new era had just begun. With it came the beginning of what is known today as corporate pr@stitution. The telcos had just landed with their base stations with billions of dollars to spend. At a time when Plantashun Boiz ruled the 36 states and the federal capital territory was left for Age Beeka and his angel Angelica. When the Remedies was Hip hop and the hustle was done with pure zeal and autotune and Styl-plus were still in their mothers' wombs. Now just a little more than a decade after, in the year 2014, the telcos and their billions have taken over. The whoring has finally begun... With the telcos unashamedly fighting over entertainers' right before our very eyes, Saka will easily take home the award for the entertainment pr@stitute of the year. Having slept with two competing brands without any remorse, musically, Saka's action is called a portamento. But do we expect Saka to be wary of jumping from one telco's bed to another knowing that there are no sexually transmitted diseases involved in the act? Of course, every Tom, Dick and Harry is hoping for a whoring opportunity of such magnitude. Should we blame the entertainers for not playing hard to get when the telcos flirt around them?
When the first and most important rule of any engagement, especially in entertainment is "money for hand back for ground," and we all need no reminder of the current economic situation in the country. "Any revenue is good revenue" has become the adopted mantra for every youth whether in entertainment or corporate Nigeria. It is no longer news that the telcos are not providing services commensurate with their subscribers' expectations.
When the telcos landed in Nigeria, phones and sim cards were sold for 65,000 but today, they are freely shared on the streets for everyone. How come the sim cards were not issued for free at the very beginning? Should you endorse a brand that has exploited your loyal fans who gave you the popularity for brands to recognise you?
Now this leaves us wondering where the allegiance of the entertainers lies. Is it to the brand or to their conscience? As an entertainer, do you really love the brand you endorse? Do you really believe in the efficacy of their products and services? Shouldn't this be considered before associating your reputation with the brand? An entertainer who is asked to endorse a product of an oil company, would you take into consideration the environmental degradation caused by the activities of such oil companies?
Shyla Nelson, a renowned American opera singer and environmentalist came to Nigeria in 2012 to promote her save the earth campaign. She needed financing and support for her wonderful world view project from top Nigerian brands. But she refused sponsorship from some major oil companies because of the damage caused by their activities in their host communities.
Back to the telcos, when the chairman of a popular telco calls, very few entertainers in the world can say no. In fact, most entertainers are lobbying to be called by the chairman, even with the knowledge that endorsement deals are like prison sentences. But it is a prison sentence the entertainers are willing to serve because the "pay" is good.
It is correct to say that the conscience of every entertainer should be pricked before aligning with brands. It shouldn't be all about the money. You should also consider how your relationship with these brands affects your image. There have been instances where entertainers who have never tasted alcoholic beverages before are compelled to consume such beverages because they signed product endorsement deals.
Do you really love the brand you endorse? What would you say of the incident of Mike Ezuronye, the popular Nollywood star who threw the Nigerian blogosphere agog recently with his picture on instagram with MTN boldly written at a top corner? Posing with an MTN backdrop would have seemed normal for anyone else but Mike Ezuronye who is an Airtel ambassador. It was an intriguing spectacle how he was subpoenaed, tried and found guilty by the internet court of justice (ITJ) for franternising with a competing brand.
But the good thing for Mike Ezuronye is that the internet court just like the EFCC and ICPC, is a toothless bulldog. So, the case between Mike Ezuronye and the olofofos of the internet was adjourned and the new date for the hearing is yet to be communicated to us. Rivers State Commissioner for Information, Ibim Semenitari has said Duncan mighty lied in the letter where he accused the State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi of owing him N50m, which is supposed to be a balance of the money he charged the Governor for a Youth Endorsement Concert in March 2011. According to Duncan Mighty, he brought a lot of stars which includes M.I, Banky W, Terry G, Ice Prince, Timaya, I Go Die, I Go Save and a whole lot more to perform for the governor in which he paid him only N10m from the N60m he charged him and promised to pay the rest soon.
Here is what the commissioner told PremiumTimes about Duncan Mighty's accusation;
"There is absolutely no truth in that allegation. The question perhaps you should ask Duncan is to tell you exactly when was he contracted; when it was executed and who contracted him? It is unfortunate when some people imagine that they have attained a status that enables them blackmail others, tell blatant lies and get away with it."
"Without joining issues with Duncan Mighty, I would suggest that you double check on his antecedents and his friendships," the commissioner said.

The Police in Imo state have arrested six suspects over the discovery of two Improvised Explosive Devices in a church in Owerri, the state capital, the spokesperson for the command, Andrew Enwerem, has said.
Mr. Enwerem, a Deputy Superintendent of Police, told PREMIUM TIMES the police was alerted to strange objects at the entrance of the Port Harcourt Road branch of Winners Chapel around midnight on Saturday.
He said bomb experts were promptly drafted to the church to sweep the area.
"During their check, it was discovered that Improvised Explosive Devices in forms of refrigerator compressor concealed in sack bags were discovered," Mr. Enwerem said. "One was promptly detonated at the scene because it was on a timer. The other one was dis-alarmed and then taken away for detonation."
The police spokesperson said those arrested have not been directly linked to planting the deadly explosives.
"They were arrested because we believe we might be able to obtain information that could lead to the arrest of the perpetrators from them," Mr. Enwerem said. "Investigations are ongoing."
The police believe the explosives were planted on Saturday night and timed to explode after worshippers had gathered for worship on Sunday.
Worshippers at the church were full of thanks to God for sparing their lives.
A worshipper, Onumara Onyekachi, told PREMIUM TIMES, "I was about getting ready for the second service when a friend posted this "Breaking News!!!!!! Police Anti Bomb squad has just detonated two bomb explosives planted at Winner Chapel PH road Owerri".
