13 Planes mysteriously vanish from radars in Europe for 25mins in 'unprecedented' incident!

A total of 13 aircraft suddenly vanished off radars for about 25 minutes on two occasions while flying over Austria, it has been revealed.

In what is being billed as 'unprecedented' circumstances, the incidents on June 5 and yesterday saw the flight data disappear from air controller screens.

Austria's flight safety organisation admitted that the height, location and other information for a total of 13 aircraft mysteriously vanished from radars. It is believed that some of the planes were long-haul flights carrying passengers on board. Continue...

Markus Pohanka, a spokesman for Austro Control, said relevant EU agencies have been asked to investigate the 'unprecedented' situation.

He added that other unnamed neighbouring countries had similar incidents and the EU's Eurocontrol, and European Aviation Safety Agency has been asked for a probe.

Pohanka did not identify the other nations that the European flights were flying over when they disappeared from secondary surveillance radars.

However, a report in the Kurier newspaper said as well as in Vienna in Austria, flight controllers in Munich and Karlsruhe in Germany, and in Prague, the Czech Republic, and Bratislava in Slovakia also reported related problems.

The report said German air traffic control had confirmed the black outs, adding that the reason there were no collisions was due to the air traffic controllers.
It could have had dramatic consequences, as 4,000 planes take to the sky in Austria every day - with 50 in the air at any one time, according to the report.

Air traffic was conducted 'blind' - by voice only - during the temporary outage, it claimed.
The revelations echo the circumstances surrounding missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing which disappeared on March 8.

The Boeing 777 - with 239 passengers and crew on board - vanished from civilian radar screens about an hour into the night flight.

The search for the flight - which involves countries including the UK, the US, Australia, China, Japan, South Korea and New Zealand - has so far recovered nothing.
In relation to the 13 missing flights about Europe, Kurier cited unnamed experts as saying interference between the aircrafts' transponders and ground control was apparently to blame.

Pohanka declined to confirm that or to say which airlines and planes were involved.
But he suggested that at least some may have been long-distance passenger aircraft, based on their high altitudes.
There was no danger at any time, he said.
Pohanka said extra air controllers immediately were called to their posts and emergency measures, including establishing voice contact with the pilots and widening flight corridors, were put into effect.
The EU's Eurocontrol and European Aviation Safety Agency will investigate the incidents.

Pohanka said that safety in the Austrian air space was guaranteed at all times.

He told MailOnline Travel: 'There is no situation in aviation where there is not another procedure that takes place. We noticed that some of the responder data sent from the plane to the ground disappeared for a short period of time from the radar screens. That is the reason why the contingency procedures were put into place. Voice communication guaranteed that we knew everything about the planes in Austrian air space and allowed air traffic controllers to do their jobs. Distance between aircraft was increased.'

When asked what had caused the black out, Pohanka said no error was indicated on the operating system, but they would have to wait to hear the results of the investigation.

TOO BAD! Man R*pes 13-yr old girl in Jos!

A middle aged man identified as Emeka, aka Baba Victor, escaped death yesterday morning as he was almost lynched by neighbours for allegedly defiling a 13-year-old primary five pupil (names withheld) in the neighbourhood.

The said Emeka, a resident of Chief Mailumo Sambo Close, Jos, Jarawa village, according to the victim had slept with her severally with the first incident taking place sometime last year after which he gave her N100.

The latest incident occurred at about 6.30 am yesterday when neighbours caught the man in the act. This attracted residents, mostly women, who wanted to lynch him.

One of the neighbours, Mama Blessing, told Vanguard: "There has been rumours about Baba Victor sleeping with that girl because she is always playing in his room. No one could confirm it until today.

"I have lived here for more than 20 years. Baba Victor has five children, four in their 20s but the wicked man sent the wife and children to their village in the East and lives here alone."

The neighbour added that the suspect was "up to something because he has older girl friends, some even come from Bukuru to see him. What does he want with this small girl?"

Though the neighbours claimed the act must have been done more than twice, but the victim said: "This is the second time he is sleeping with me. The first time was sometime last year and he gave me N100."

How the act started

When asked why she did not report the incident and why she was not in school, she said: "I attend an Islamic school and we don't go very early. I used to go to his compound to play with my friend who is living there.

"That day, I wanted to shout but he said I should not and that he will give me money. I did not remember to tell my parents. This morning, I went to my friend's place and he called me and started sleeping with me again before people came and saw us."

However, immediately the incident was uncovered, the suspect pushed the girl outside and locked himself in.

Before the aggrieved neighbours could break the door, a passer-by had notified the security agencies and it took the combined efforts of Policemen from Nasarawa Gwong Division and STF members attached to Sector Two for the man to be whisked away.

The neighbours equally suspect the victim may not be the only girl in such situation as the suspect was in the habit of giving between N30 and N50 to girl children.

Jamaica is to decriminalise the possession of marijuana in small quantities, for private use or on medicinal grounds.

Jamaica is to decriminalise the possession of small amounts of marijuana, joining the trickle of countries moving to soften laws on the drug known on the Caribbean island as "ganja".
The country's minister of justice, Mark Golding, announced that Jamaica's prime minister, Portia Simpson Miller, and her cabinet had decided to amend the Dangerous Drugs Act.
"Cabinet approved certain changes to the law relating to ganja. These relate to possession of small quantities of ganja for personal use, the smoking of ganja in private places and the use of ganja for medical-medicinal purposes," he said.
"Approval has been given also to a proposal for the decriminalisation of the use of ganja for religious purposes."
Uruguay recently became the latest country to legalise marijuana use, joining several countries in Europe as well as the US states of Colorado and Washington.
Possession of small quantities of the drug would become a non-arrestable, ticketable infraction in Jamaica resulting only in a fine, Golding said.
"Too many of our young people have ended up with criminal convictions after being caught with a spliff, something that has affected their ability to do things like get jobs and get visas to travel overseas," Golding said.
The government would propose a bill in the Jamaican parliament soon to expunge the criminal records of people convicted of possessing small amounts of the drug, which is grown widely across Jamaica.
The change means that a person cannot be arrested if in possession of up to 57 grams (2oz) of marijuana in a public space.
Anyone ticketed will be given 30 days to pay the fine, failure of which will result in it becoming a minor offence, resulting in the offender doing court-ordered community service.
Golding said the possession of ganja for religious or therapeutic purposes as prescribed by a registered medical practitioner, or for scientific research by an accredited institution, would also be decriminalised.

Kefee was Honored with the prestigious UN award as Young Ambassador for Peace.
Kefee Was a prolific song writer, a skilled dancer and a passionate singer. An artiste who's music was not only encouraging but inspiring and motivating.

She was Born to Deacon and Mrs. Andrew Obareki in Sapele, Delta State. She started singing at an early age (8yrs) in the children choir, ever since, she has been transformed from one glory to another, She moved on to the adult choir when she was fifteen and at age eighteen she was made the choir Director.

The choir released a couple of albums where she took lead vocals and backup vocals as well. Kefee, the Branama Queen studied Public Administration in the prestigious University of Benin, Edo State. By this time she had already written well over 20 songs and had a greater passion for music.

In 2000, she playfully composed and released an album titled "TRIP" with a friend; the album was a success and got them shows alongside artiste likes Tony Tetuila, Plantation boys and a long list of others.

The album gained some recognition as the videos where the talk of the town in Benin, being the first female group to break off from the usual approach, the two friends parted after school but Kefee did not give up. In December 2003 she signed on with Alec Music and released her first solo album as a female artiste.

Kefee's "BRANAMA" sold nine thousand audio cassettes in just three weeks of the albums release and over two million copies of CDs/VCDs in a month. She became the hottest Nigerian female artiste and won a number of awards. Kefee's fan base increased all over Africa and also on the international scene, she was invited to perform in London and other parts of Europe and America.

Kefee's first album was a huge success which had her fans eagerly anticipating for her second album titled "BRANAMA 2″.Her sophomore album was just as terrific as her first and also got her the respect of other well known Nigerian Artiste who worked with her for the album.

The release of her latest effort titled "A Piece of Me" in January 2009, marked the unfolding of still a new era in the life and career of one of Africa's most prolific music talents. "A Piece of Me" is almost notable for its tracking stylistic diversity, thread of modern Afro – Pop, R&B Classic and Traditional Africans etc. are all ingeniously woven together into a work that is cutting edge contemporarily but with a perfect touch of familiarity and tradition. Prayer session by members of World Liberation Ministry located at Evuoriaria Community, off Benin-Sapele Road, ended up in confusion yesterday when a woman gave birth to a horse-like creature.

The pony however came out dead from the woman. The identity of the woman was hidden from journalists who visited the church. Some church members who spoke with journalists said the woman was screaming during the prayer session and they noticed that she was bleeding from the vagina before the horse finally came out of her.

General Overseer of the church, Evangelist Rev. Silva Wealth said he was also in shock and amazement at what came out of the woman. He said a revelation came to him during prayer session that there was a woman with an issue and that something was blocking her womb. Evangelist Silva said as prayers intensified, the woman started screaming and bleeding and then the object came out.

But he couldn't confirm whether the horse was dead or alive because he didn't go near it. "I can't describe the object. We have seen people vomiting several things during our service, but not this type of thing. God has been blessing our ministry with prophesies and miracles," he said, adding that people rushed to the church to catch a glimpse of the horse when news of the delivery filtered into town.

The cleric who confirmed that there had been several prophecies in the church said: "I wouldn't know, I was not focusing on her and I didn't go back to her after the prayers. I have been in my office administering and counselling members. "We have been having series of miracles in this church, but this was a surprise to members who were present that morning.

I was amazed that it's quite different from what we have been seeing during our prayer sessions in which God has always intervened through various miracles." The woman was said to have gone for medical check up but Silva promised to make her available to journalists. Meanwhile, elders and leaders of the Evboriaria community have launched investigation into the strange delivery, described as bizarre.

Bloody Fight In Cherubim & Seraphim's Church! [PHOTOS]

At a time the Assemblies of God church is embroiled in a bitter leadership tussle over alleged financial impropriety, the struggle for the control of a wing of the Cherubim and Seraphim (C&S) Church has led to a bloody clash in which the General Overseer narrowly escaped death.

Though Prophet Obas Kayode, the GO of Jah Zion Cherubim and Seraphim Church is alive to tell the story of the attack on him, his multi-million naira 50 room hotel and pharmaceutical company in Isanlu, Kogi State, were allegedly razed by a faction of the church loyal to the two sons of the founding General Overseer of the church, Prophet Oni Jolugba.

Findings by Saturday Sun reveal that the church was founded by late Prophet Oni Jolugba, an itinerant tailor who received the call of God in Ikare Akoko, Ondo State in the early 70s. With time, the church grew in leaps and bounds as Jolugba acclaimed to be a miracle working prophet became renowned with the calibre of worshippers and patronage such that the founder, a stark illiterate soon became an international guest in the UK and US where he has branches.

Due to the swift expansion, it was gathered, the founder had to relocate the headquarters of the church to his country home, Isanlu, headquarters of Yagba East local government area of Kogi State for easy administration.

It was further learnt that Obas Kayode, an orphan from Mopa, a neigbouring town, was adopted as a foster son and brought up by Jolugba.

Obas now in his 40s was said to be so submissive to the founder, that he ( Jolugba) trained him through school and he graduated as a pharmacist from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife in 1997.

It was also learnt that after his internship and youth service, Obas settled down in Isanlu and started to operate a pharmacy shop which later became the largest drug store in the entire local government area.

He was also said to have added hospitality business into his area of interest by building a-50-bedroom hotel in the town.

Few years to his death, Jolugba, the founder of the church was said to have declared in one of their national conventions that Obas was his next successor and even went ahead to anoint and consecrate him as such in the presence of trustee members and the council of elders of the church. He was said to have passed on in July 2011 after which Obas became the substantive GO.

Trouble however began last year when two biological children of Jolugba; Tope and Michael allegedly decided to sell the headquarters of the church to another denomination. When the bid was thwarted by the church authority, a fracas broke out during which Obas and one Elijah Abimbola, the in-house prophet of the church were attacked.

This led to the intervention of the traditional ruler of the town and some leaders of the community who advised Jolugba's successor to leave the church property for the founder's children and find another place of worship.

As a result, Obas and some members of the church were said to have relocated to another building as their new worship centre. Tope and Michael were however alleged to have gone there on February 16 this year to set the house ablaze.

The following day, the surviving wife of the founder was said to have been locked up in her residence by unknown persons and it took the intervention of the police to rescue her. The crisis festered on May 19, 2014 when a faction of the church led by Tope and Michael allegedly invaded Obas hotel and set the premises ablaze along with about 10 vehicles belonging to guests.

The attackers were said to have proceeded to the pharmaceutical company of Obas, set it on fire before moving to his private residence where he escaped by the whiskers and set the house including three cars ablaze.

Speaking with Saturday Sun over the issue, Kayode Obas said the founder's children have succeeded in ruining all he has laboured for in his life saying most of the property destroyed were acquired through bank loans.

"Their target was to sell the church headquarter to another denomination, we are not quarreling with them over Baba's personal property, but the headquarters was collectively built by us. We even left the building for them as advised by elders, but they came to where we hired and burnt it down again, I have lost over N750 million including cars, buildings and other property.

"Some people in the town are inciting them against me, because they say I am not a native of the town and have amassed so much wealth, so they are hiding under this crisis to ruin and even kill me. The children 13

"They said because I used Jolu- Kayo as my business name, the company is jointly owned by me and their father whereas I used that acronym to honour their dad who is also my foster dad. The member representing Yagba East constituency, Henry Ojuola was one of them, he even came to our church to incite members against us and he was the one who went to bail those arrested over the crisis, he is also boasting that no body will be prosecuted over the case.

When contacted on the crisis, the deputy general leader of the church who is based in Omuo Ekiti, Suprintendent A. A Adeyemo said " these boys don't understand anything about Jah Zion Church, when we were contributing money to build the church, the children were no where to be found, they were even attending a different church with their mum."

Also speaking on the issue, Special Apostle Oluyori who is in charge of the church in Akure, Ondo State said "we have talked to these children they are adamant, children don't inherit their father's church, I am a co- founder of the church but since Baba handed over the church to Obas Kayode, we must follow him."

The leader of the church in Kabba, Apostle Peter Jimoh in his own reaction said, "these children want to destroy the good name of their father. We are not interested in their father's personal property, but the church belongs to us, and Jolugba. Before he died, he handed over the leadership of the church to Obas Kayode, and wherever he is going, that's where we will go."

When Saturday Sun contacted Hon. Henry Ojuola on the allegations against him, he denied having a hand in the crisis saying he was just a mediator.

"How can I incite people to burn his property? I truly went to their church to preach peace to them and not to incite anybody against him.

As for bailing of the suspects, yes I took their bail at the police station, because they are members of my constituency, even those recently arrested for the burning, I will go and give them N10, 000 for feeding. Until the law court pronounces them guilty, I can not do so, it is only natural that as their representative, any time anybody runs into trouble, they will call me, that is all", he stated.

Efforts to get the reaction of Michael and Tope Jolugba as well as their mum proved abortive.

There have been rumours both online and on entertainment magazines that Nollywood icon and Delta State Commissioner for Culture & Tourism, Richard Mofe-Damijo, has health issues probably because of his recent weight loss. I saw him a while back and he looked more handsome than ever!

Anyway, RMD has reacted to the rumours, saying he's better than ever.

"What else do you need? You saw me on stage, did I look sick? People are probably so disappointed to see me looking so much better they want the news to be true. Unfortunately for them, I am in the best shape of my life.

LASU Students Tell Fashola: Our Mothers Can’t Calculate Our Fees In Percentage..Tell Us In Naira & Kobo

Lagos State university students have rejected the government's decision to reduce the institution's increased fees by 34-60 per cent.

Speaking at a press conference today where the issue was addressed, the students' union president, Nurudeen Yusuf, said the state government has been insincere in its dealings with them.

"We do not accept the percentage reduction offered by the Government because in 2011 when the fees were increased, it was not done on percentage level. Rather, they made the pronouncement in Nigerian naira and kobo."

"We urge the Government to come out in extant words as to how much will be payable by our students in naira and kobo and not in percentage. How do they expect our parents, the market women scrambling to pay our fees, to calculate the percentage?

"The Government is only trying to play jokers on our future, our destiny and the posterity of the state. Even if the governing council and the internal structure in the university will be put to their statutory work, we question the sincerity of the Government on this matter because the pronouncement of the fee was as a result of a Visitation Panel set up by the Government of which report was selectively adopted."

We would only accept a 67 per cent reduction "across board" in our school fees which ranges between N197,750 and N348,750, the student leader said.

The students also demanded an apology from the State commissioner of Police over the arrest, detention and brutalisation of their colleagues.

We sincerely hope the students who were arraigned in a Lagos court have been released, because they should be the priority of other students now.

"Nothing was challenging anymore. It was too easy and too perpetual. It was too boring and too predictable. I had no room to pursue or hone other skill sets I had. Obasanjo explains why "Some of the Chibok Schoolgirls Will Never Return, Some Will Give Birth in Sambisa Forest!"

Olusegun Obasanjo has expressed fears that the more than 200 abducted schoolgirls, who were kidnapped about 2 months ago in Chibok while at school, might never return again. That instead, the terror group would release some of the girls that might be pregnant and finding it difficult to cater for their babies in the forest.

Punch reports that Obasanjo during an interview on the Hausa Service of the British Broadcasting Corporation said:

"I believe that some of them will never return. We will still be hearing about them many years from now. Some will give birth, but if they cannot take care of them in the forest, they may be released."

Obasanjo, during the interview, also revealed that he has a communication link with Boko Haram, that he could reach out to the violent Islamic sect over the abduction of the schoolgirls, but regretted that the Federal Government is yet to give him the go ahead.
