How Tiwa Savage And Teebillz Were Paid N6.8 Million To Host Pre-Wedding Party in Dubai? [photo] Posted: 04 May 2014 11:26 AM PDT According to 1960chick Tiwa Savage & Tee Billz made money from their Dubai wedding. The celeb couple had a pre wedding bash at Sensations club in Dubai which was hosted by Banky W and that the couple were paid $40,000 (N6.8 Million) by the event promoters for the pre-wedding party. The promoters also footed the bill for their hotel stay, the couple lodged at the super fancy Armani Hotel. Their transportation while in Dubai was also paid for. If you feel $40,000 is a lot to pay, think again…the promoters more than made their money back, a bottle of champagne at events like these could easily go for $1000, and this does not include ticket sales. The pre wedding party was attended by the nearly every guest that was in Dubai for their wedding weekend and this does not include the Nigerians in Dubai who wanted to party with the Baloguns and their celeb friends…it was a packed house. Paying celebs to party is fairly standard in the western part of the world, just ask Kim Kardashian who gets paid upwards of $100000 to party at some of the world's most well known clubs. The reason why promoters pay celebs to party is simple, a celeb name is always a huge attraction for party goers, which equals more money for them. It's all about dollars and cents. And the Tiwa Savage & Tee Billz brand is a bankable brand. TOP STORIES How a 'Prophet' R@ped A Woman In Order To 'Heal' Her Stomach Problem! TOO BAD! 52-year-old Mother Sold her Son’s Baby For N350,000! Posted: 04 May 2014 11:26 AM PDT A 52-year-old woman in Ezinihitte Mbaise Local Government Area, Imo State, Mrs. Tina Iwuji, alleged to have done an abominable thing by arranging the sale of the baby of her son's girlfriend, is now gnashing her teeth in the custody of the Imo State Police Command. The two-week-old baby girl was allegedly sold for the sum of N350,000 to another woman, Bernadine Abara, who claimed to be in need of a girl to complement her three sons. The whole sordid affair began when Iwuji's son, Emeka, who resides in Lagos impregnated the mother of the baby, Esther Godwin, a native of Ndoki, Delta State and then sent her to be with his mother in Mbaise. Both Emeka and Esther never disclosed to the woman that her son was responsible for the pregnancy. Perhaps worried as a diligent mother ought to be, Tina inquired from Esther whether her mother was aware of her pregnancy and her presence in her house in Mbaise. Recalling that conversation, Tina told Sunday Sun: "It was my son Emeka Iwuji who brought Esther as a friend not a wife from Lagos to my home in Mbaise, Imo State. I asked Esther who was responsible for her pregnancy and she said it was not my son. I asked her what was her mission and whether her mother was aware that she came to Mbaise but she said no. She came to the house on January 7, 2014. Confirming this to Sunday Sun in an interview, Esther said: "My husband, Emeka, impregnated me in Lagos and took me to his family house in Mbaise, Imo State. I didn't tell his mother that he was responsible for the pregnancy." According to Imo State Police Commissioner, Mr Abdulmajid , Esther delivered a baby girl on April 11, 2014 at Hope Clinic and Maternity, Mbaise. Hearing that Esther had safely delivered the baby, Emeka allegedly called his mother on the phone and instructed that she should arrange for the sale of the baby and the money realized be given to Esther to enable her to continue with her education in Lagos State. Subsequently Tina began pressuring Esther to submit to the evil intent of selling the baby to an adoption syndicate operating in the area, as confirmed to Sunday Sun in these words: "When I delivered, my husband told his mother that she should sell the baby girl and give me the money to go back to Lagos. My mother-in-law was desperate to sell the baby girl." At this point, a nurse who is part of the baby adoption/ sales syndicate, Eunice Eze came into the picture and invited another woman, Patricia Njoku, who identified a willing buyer, Mrs Benardine Abara. With all arrangements in place, the sticking point was the unwillingness of Esther to agree to the evil design against her baby. To effect their plan, Tina allegedly ordered her younger brother, Nicholas Imoh to convey Esther to a certain place. Somewhere along the way, on Oparache road, Aboh Mbaise LGA, he stopped and forcefully took the baby away from Esther and handed it over to Patricia, who took the baby to Nurse Eze for onward delivery to Bernardine, who claimed to be in need of a baby girl and paid N350,000 for the baby. In tears, Esther rushed to the Mbaise police station to report the case. Policemen quickly moved and arrested the alleged culprits and also recovered the baby. It was during police interrogation that Tina learnt that her son was responsible for Esther's pregnancy. With visible agony, she said: "It was when I was arrested with the other people that Esther confessed that my son Emeka was responsible for her pregnancy. I was shocked." On her part, Bernardine acknowledged buying the baby that was brought to her house but, however, said she was not aware that it was stolen from the mother. She said: "I have three boys and I needed a female baby. I paid N350,000 and she was handed over to me by Nurse Eunice Eze. They gave me the baby on April 13, 2014 around 6.00pm. The following day, policemen came to arrest me in my house. They (Nurse Eze and the others) had told me earlier that the adoption was perfected." Too Bad 'How we were R^*ped 15 Times A Day By Boko Haram'- Escaped Chibok Schoolgirls! Posted: 04 May 2014 10:32 AM PDT The about 300 students abducted on April 14 from Government Girls Secondary School, Chibok, in Borno State are passing through hard times, with some of them being r*ped up to 15 times a day, one of those who escaped has disclosed. According to a report published today by the British newspaper Daily Mirror, "Families of the schoolgirls, aged from 15 to 18, are certain their daughters are now being used as s*x slaves by an extreme sect that has killed 1,500 people since the start of this year alone. "They are captives in the wild Sambisa Forest in north-east Nigeria where Boko Haram has a heavily armed camp of bunkers, tunnels, ramshackle buildings and tents. "One girl who recently escaped following an earlier kidnapping said she was prized as a terror leader's wife because she had been a vi*gin. She said young female captives were r*ped up to 15 times a day, forced to convert to Islam and had their throats cut if they refused." The paper reports that "under President Goodluck Jonathan, the Nigerian government appears to have done little except issue an entirely false claim that most of the girls had been rescued by defence forces." It quotes Mma Odi, executive director of the Nigerian charity Baobab Women's Human Rights, as saying: "It is a very bad situation for those girls. The men went to the school for no other reason than to make them their s*x objects. The men will have reduced them to s*x slaves, r*ping them over and over again. And any girl who tries to resist will be shot by them. They have no conscience. "The conditions will be terrible and it seems like the government has just abandoned them because they are girls and they are poor. If they were the sons of the rich, the government would act. "Their abductors are not human beings and if the girls get out they will no longer be normal. They will have to have years of counselling to recover." Also indicting the Nigerian military and the Jonathan administration, Professor Hauwa Biu, a women's rights campaigner based at the University of Maiduguri, told Mirror: "They claim they are on top of the situation, that they are in the bush, but they are not there. If the government had acted straight away then they could have followed the gunmen's footsteps or tyre tracks, but over the past weeks rain and leaves have fallen, covering them up. "Meanwhile, nobody knows what kind of conditions they will be living in the camp. "I cannot think what these girls must be going through. "I have been told that the men feed them and treat them quite well, but we also know that other girls kidnapped have been highly molested. "If the government had just acted straight away they could have saved these girls." The number of stolen girls has yet to become clear. It was previously put at over 100 but yesterday the Nigerian police said 223 girls are still missing after 53 managed to escape. Mirror, however, insists that 329 girls were abducted and that 276 are still missing. TOP STORIES How a 'Prophet' R@ped A Woman In Order To 'Heal' Her Stomach Problem! Fani Kayode accuses 'key individuals' of sponsoring Boko Haram in new Exposing article! Posted: 04 May 2014 09:31 AM PDT "Nigerian's don't want to accept the ugly fact that there are some key individuals, who some of them still literally worship and rever, that are the ones actually encouraging, fueling and funding Boko Haram and that are waging war against our people" Femi Fani Kayode writes in a new article titled 'The Haramites of Boko'. "My worst fears have been confirmed and sadly the Haramites of Boko have struck again. Another terrible bomb blast has taken place in Abuja and many innocent people have been butchered, slaughtered and maimed. At the last count the number of those killed is no less than 39 despite attempts by the international and local media to play the number of casualties down. This damning display of primordial and pure savagery by Boko Haram comes barely two weeks after over 100 innocent people, including women and children, were killed by another bomb, on the same spot and by the same people. This is surely too much for us to bear. Worst still the country, and indeed the international community, is still grappling with the Chibok affair in which no less than 234 young school girls were abducted from their schools and turned into sex slaves by Boko Haram. At this juncture one is compelled to ask the following question: how much more can we take before the centre fails to hold and everything falls apart? How much more can we take before some madman in uniform gets up, takes advantage of the situation, does the unacceptable and unthinkable, seizes the broadcasting stations and subjects us to a familiar yet unwelcome early morning speech which is preceded by ''fellow Nigerians'' and which ends with the announcement of a ''dawn to dusk curfew''? May God forbid that this should ever happen in our country again as it would be a tragedy of monuemental proportions and it would set us back by at least 50 years. Worst still Nigeria may not even survive it and it may well result in another civil war. I have no doubt that despite our monuemental security challenges, the preservation of our fast-evolving democratic culture and structures remains the only way forward and that we must do all that we can to protect this dispensation. The best that we can do is to continue to speak out, to protest, to write, to demonstrate, to create awareness, to march, to pray and to demand that our Government and security forces do a better job by fighting Boko Haram with an equal and commiserate amount of viciousness and savagery that the islamist terrorists are fighting us. I feel a deep sense of outrage and shame and I utterly deplore the fact that the Federal Government has once again failed to protect the lives of the Nigerian people. Yet it is not just the Federal Government that has failed but all the the governments at all levels, including our State Governors and Local Government Area Chairmen. As a matter of fact every single one of us that is in the ruling class of this country or that is a member of it's political elite has failed woefully. We must all carry a share of the blame in varying degrees. Every single one of us has a little blood on our hands as a consequence of our sheer indifference to the collective plight of our people and our inability to act at the appropiate time when we saw all this coming. I hereby join millions of Nigerians in condemning this latest beastly attack on Nyanya and I have nothing but contempt and disgust for the Haramites and those that secretly support them. May God deliver our country from the grip of these Boko demons that feed fat on human flesh and blood and that seek to terrorise us into submission and may the souls of those that have been killed rest in peace. Yet let us get past the rather obvious and simplistic statements and submissions and let us look at this whole matter from a deeper perspective and in a more refreshing, meaningful and holistic manner. Let us stop merely scratching at the surface and let us get to the root of the problem. It is time for us to get real and to speak some hard truths. Consider the following. When some people are so hell bent on taking power that they begin to bomb their citizens in order to achieve it one has to begin to question the continued viability of our much flaunted unity. When some people believe that it is their right to rule in perpetuity and that if they do not get their way they must make the country ungovernable and kill as many people as possible, one must decide whether or not we are really one nation. When some people are prepared to use religion as a political tool, shed as much innocent blood as possible and pervert the very tenets of the faith that they claim to espouse, one must decide whether those of us that do not share their world view are prepared to remain in the same cage as those that are clearly nothing but ravenous beasts. There is far more to the Boko Haram phenomenon than meets the eye and Nigerians just don't get it yet. They are not prepared to hear the truth let alone accept it and, sadly, perhaps they never will. This is a nation that has an identity crisis and that still does not want to accept the fact that it is at war with itself. They do not want to accept the ugly fact that there are some key individuals, who some of them still literally worship and rever, that are the ones actually encouraging, fuelling and funding Boko Haram and that are waging war against our people. They do not want to accept that there is an international dimension to this matter which is beyond their knowledge, understanding or comprehension. May God open their eyes and help them to recognise what they are up against before it is too late. Until that happens and each and every Nigerian is prepared to take up arms against Boko Haram and those that are secretly behind it our people will continue to be terrorised, slaughtered, abducted and enslaved. And whether anyone likes to accept it or not there are quite a number of people who fall into the category of Boko Haram sympathisers even though they remain in the shadows. For example there is a very combative, visible and vocal individual from the north-western part of our country who has been accused of covertly funding and supporting the islamist cause and terrorism for many years. That same individual was described to the FBI as a ''trusted mentor'' by Umar Faruk Mutallab, the Nigerian ''underwear bomber'', who attempted to blow up a plane filled with passengers as it was about to land in the United States of America a few years ago. Again that same individual has been accused of having a hand in one of the most heinous and brutal sectarian murders in the history of our country when a young man by the name of Gideon Akaluka, from Benue state, was cold-bloodedly beheaded by a rampaging mob in Kano for supposedly ''desecrating the koran''. Akaluka's severed head was paraded on a long pole all over the streets of the city before a cheering and roaring crowd for many hours and the whole gory event was actually video-taped by the perpetrators themselves. Such barbarity has rarely been seen in the history of our country. Yet this individual has not been brought to justice or even questioned about these matters. Is it any wonder that Boko Haram appears to be going from strength to strength? The truth is that they have many friends in high places and President Goodluck Jonathan himself once alluded to this. Another individual, who was a former Head of State, was quoted as saying the following in 2001- ''I will continue to show openly and inside me the total commitment to the sharia movement that is sweeping all over Nigeria. God-willing, we will not stop the agitation for the total implementation of the sharia in the country. Muslims should vote at the next Presidential election only for someone who will defend their faith''. This former Head of State may not have any link with today's terrorism or Boko Haram but has the words that he uttered on sharia in 2001 not made matters worse? Were the seeds of Boko Haram not planted at that time by such comments and such contributions? Yet another former Head of State did not help matters when he treated what he described as ''political sharia'' with kid gloves when he was in power. He failed to deal decisively with it at the time and he said that it would eventually ''fizzle out''. This did not happen and today we are witnessing the results of his complacence and his inability to crush the beast at an early stage before it grew fangs. Now that vampiric beast is biting us with those fangs day and night and it is eating our flesh and drinkng our blood. For those that fail to see the nexus between political sharia and Boko Haram and that fail to appreciate the connection between the two permit me to put the following questions. Was the movement for political sharia not the precursor to Boko Haram? When you tolerate a monster and give room for extreme philosophies to take root are you not asking for trouble? When you give an inch will the beast not take a mile? When you compromise on fundamental issues such as the secularity of the state and allow islamist ideology to flourish in the name of political expediency and compromise are you not asking for trouble? When you run away from fighting a righteous war that must be fought sooner or later are you not postponing it for another day? Over ten years later we are reaping the consequences and rewards of our cowardice, indifference and indolence when faced with political sharia. The truth is that all our leaders have failed to solve this problem over the years and their lack of firm resolve to do so has simply caused it to spread and to become more virulent. Worst still some have completely capitulated and bowed in shame and helplessness before the evil scourge. As a glaring example of this, just a few months ago, an elder statesman that was at the time no less a personality than the National Chairman of the ruling party described the Haramites of Boko as ''freedom fighters''. Is there anything more shameful than that? I really do wonder whose freedom they seek to secure and who they are fighting for? Is it the freedom to kill our people and to abduct and enslave our children? Such sentiments and expressions of sympathy for the enemies of our people are a national disgrace and those that express them ought to be called out and held to account. Sadly the next few months and years are very bleak for our nation. As a matter of fact we may not even have a nation left in the next few months and years if things continue this way. I just hope and pray that we all appreciate the fact that we are in for the long haul and that whether we like it or not Boko Haram is here to stay. It is either that we succumb to them, accept their demands, bow to them and allow them to change our way of life or we fight them into the ground, eliminate every single one of them, flush them out, burn the Sambisi forest to the ground, avenge our people, preserve our way of life and restore our self-respect and dignity. It is either that we accept their evil, conceede to the establishment of a Taliban-style islamic fundamentalist state in the whole of our country and espouse it wholeheartedly or we fight a brutal, bloody, long and righteous war to preserve the unity of our nation, to protect the secularity of our state and to enthrone righteousness and justice. The choice is ours. The Haramites of Boko have already made their choice and they made it long ago. And that choice is to subject the Nigerian people to terror, murder, humiliation, carnage and bondage and bring us to servitude and to our knees. They will continue to effect this satanic agenda unless and until we get off our knees, stand up like men and say ''enough is enough''. They will continue to do so unless and until we are ready to say that Nigeria is worth dying for and that we are ready to fight back . May God deliver Nigeria. MEET the happiest animal on Earth. These are the CUTEST photos you’ll see! Posted: 04 May 2014 10:38 AM PDT When it comes to cute animal pictures, there's no beating this cheeky creature, who may as well have wandered straight out of a feel-good kids' movie. Meet the Quokka, a marsupial that seems to have come straight from an animator at Disney, but is actually native to a small corner of southwestern Australia. Unlike a frightening number of Australian animals, the Quokka poses no threat to humans, and -- as these pictures make abundantly clear -- can be quite friendly. That friendliness may partially explain why, according to the Perth Zoo, the once-plentiful Quokka was drastically reduced in number after the dingo and foxes found their way to Australia. The animal is currently listed as "vulnerable," according to the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species. Thanks to conservation efforts and fox control programs, their populations are recovering in some areas. TOP STORIES How a 'Prophet' R@ped A Woman In Order To 'Heal' Her Stomach Problem! "Chibok Local Government is 90% Christians. Majority of the girls abducted are Christian! Why did Boko Haram visit Chibok Local Government? Why didn't they visit so many other Local Government Girls Secondary Schools in Borno State?" While demanding for those girls in Senior Secondary School, SSS, one and two to be transfered to schools of their choice, CAN called on faithful across the country to pray for their release. Owojaiye said for "Daughters of Zion taken captive, to be treated as slaves and sold into marriage to unclean people. Abomination has been committed. "Raise lamentation to High Heavens. What a shame on the Church of the Living God. "The Church in Nigeria is hereby called to A Lamentation Prayer. "Every Christian home must raise a lamentation to heaven daily. Let God arise and defend his Name, Honour and Majesty. "Let a 15 minutes cry to heaven be done in every Church every time they gather. Oh God, Rend the Heavens and come down! Why should the people say where is our God? "The Military may not be able to solve the problem but prayer will. Ordinary Military force may not get them out! Intensive Agonizing Prayer will." CAN added that there should be a concrete plan by the federal government after the recovery of the abducted girls. "We make the following demands of the Federal Government whose duty it was to protect the innocent girls. "First, a N50million damage as trauma compensation to each girl. "Second, a preparation to take each girl to an overseas University on Government scholarship by September 2014. Preparation for that must start now! Vanguard has not been able to verify the authenticity of the list. The names as released by CAN. Here are the names of our daughters. These are the Christian Girls: 1 Deborah Abge Chrstian 2. Posted: 04 May 2014 08:24 AM PDT The Legusen of Ode Ule Kingdom, Ogun State, Oba Adedayo Adekoya, doubles as the Oba of Isese Agbaye, which is an umbrella body for traditional worshippers. The monarch, who is also a medical doctor, tells GBENRO ADEOYE why he's into Isese Since when have you been the Legusen (Oba) of Ode Ule Kingdom? There are three institutions that I represent. First of all, the Ode Ule institution, the Isese Agbaye institution and the Diaspora institution. I became the Legusen of Ode Ule in 1991. I was appointed by the Legusen clan to be their head in December 1991 and on April 28, 1992, I became recognised by the then Alaye Ode system. Ode Ule and Ode Remo now exist separately. So we now have Ode Ule and Ode Remo. What does it mean to be the Oba Isese Agbaye (worldwide)? During pre-independence era and the amalgamation processes, the colonial masters didn't allow our people to express themselves. Our people tried to register the traditional religions but they couldn't, the colonialists only made them to register the medicinal aspect. When I became a Board Chairman for Ogun State Council of Arts and Culture, I mobilised Isese people. Isese is the umbrella name for all our traditional worshippers – Ifa, Sango, Babalawo, Alagbede, Alagemo and so on. So through that, I got to get close to them. I was installed as the Oba Isese Agbaye in 2002. You know, I have both indigenous and western education because I'm also a babalawo (herbalist) as well as a trained medical practitioner. I trained at the medical school, University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University). As a medical doctor, how did you emerge as the Oba Isese Agbaye? I was the president then. I asked the babas and mamas to consult and bring their head and that I would give them the logistic support. Then, they asked me to come to Ile Ife to see who they had chosen, so I went there. I was so eager to see who it was. When everyone had assembled, they told me that I was the one and asked me to sit down on the seat prepared for the Oba. That was how I was installed as the Oba Isese Agbaye. I never expected it. So what is a medical doctor doing as the head of a religion generally believed to be archaic? Which part of it is archaic? Is it the one that tells you to go and pay 10 per cent of your money to somebody you don't see that is modern? How did you become an Isese person? I'm an Isese man by birth. My parents were Christians, they went to Christian schools. In fact, my mother held a position in the Methodist church. But for me, I've always been an Isese man. The only thing that attracted me to church then was to see oyinbo (white man), so I stopped going when Oyinbo stopped coming. Didn't your parents object or try to dissuade you from becoming a traditionalist? They couldn't. They knew I was doing the right thing. When my father was born, on the third day, they consulted Ifa divination and Ifa said this one would not follow you to the farm; he would write. The man finished the whole of the Arabic book then and there was nothing to do again, so they took him to a Christian secondary school. He finished the levels within four years. At the 100 years anniversary of his alma mater, the man won the school's all time best. He had nine bachelor degrees at that time because master's degrees were not common in his time. He was always taking correspondence courses and had many degrees. Can such a man tell somebody not to follow a prediction that was made? But don't you feel awkward practising Isese in this age and time? We've realised that we actually started what people call civilisation now. At Iho-Eleru near Akure, Ondo State, there is a cave where they found the skulls and skeletons of humans that lived in that cave. They dated it to 13,000 years ago, about 11,000 BC. If in my place, somebody was living 13,000 years ago and in a book, they recorded that Adam and Eve started the zero point arbitrarily at 3,500BC, do you want me to believe the person that lived 3,500BC is my father? Is there any sense in that? This is scientifically proven. You know in that story of Adam and Eve, after Cain killed Abel and ran away and got married somewhere, did he marry his sister? He went to other people that were already existing. So in other words, humanity did not begin with Adam and Eve. It was a convenient point for the Jews to start their history. Their history is not my history. Our history dates farther back than that. People crossed the Suez canal more than 100,000 years ago to go and populate the world. If people crossed the canal to populate Asia, Americas, the far east over 100,000 years ago, and you are saying 3,500BC is our starting point. I think it's not right. Isese is what it was at the beginning. Islam and Christianity believe in heaven and hell. Does Isese have a similar belief? Those things are concepts to make you docile. In Isese, we believe that the material and the spiritual world are coexisting but at different cosmic energy levels. What they are calling heaven is here with us, it's just that they may be at a cosmic level that you may not realise it. What we are saying is that the nature that exists all over the place does not end where our technology ends. There are technologies that we cannot yet perceive. When people make technological discoveries, it is because they are able to pick them. What is not there, can you discover it? So it means we have developed a sensory mode to get those things gradually. How are you able to balance orthodox medicine with traditional medicine? What is orthodox? Orthodoxy is about location. When you say something is orthodox, it means that is what is practised there. So African medical practice is orthodox in Africa, European medical practice is orthodox in Europe. When you take African medical practice to Europe, then it becomes unorthodox. So what you're asking is how unorthodox European medicine is mergable with the orthodox African medicine? Religion has nothing to do with medicine. The practice of orthodox African medicine in Africa is very simple. For instance, somebody had a stroke and we got some leaves from the backyard and made a concoction of herbs, and then gave her to drink. The blood pressure was 234/130 and she took the drink and her blood pressure came down within two hours. I'm a student of Indigenous Knowledge at the University of Ibadan. The leaves are there in our backyard and they are things that are available and indigenous to us. If somebody has a transverse lie in obstetrics where the baby is lying across, instead of cephalic rotation or doing a caesarean section, I take wasp herb and rub it on the belly and the baby rotates and the woman delivers vaginally. That means in another nine months, if she gets close to her husband, she can have another baby. But with CS, I will tell her to wait for another three or four years. We are missing a lot. Does that mean that you have abandoned the kind of medicine you studied in the university? No, that is the problem we are having. Putting a barrier between one form of knowledge and another is foolish. If we are going to use wisdom, if I learn something from you, will I say that because I already learnt from one, I will not use the one I learnt from you? I will combine them. You are only better off when you are able to combine both. Prior to this time, I would ask you which form of treatment you want, indigenous African system, western or both? Quite a number of people will say they are not sure of the indigenous treatment, so I use western. Some will prefer indigenous medicine. So it depends on the choice of the patient. From my experience, there are limitations to all of them. So what we do is to complement. We are sad about doctors who think everything that is local is rubbish. Doctors say some of the components of herbal medicine can damage organs Some say we claim that herbal medicine treats all ailments. How about our dear Ampiclox? When your eye is discharging, you use Ampiclox. When your ear is discharging, you use Ampiclox. So it's not only in the traditional African medicine that you have multiplicity of effects, it is also in western medicine. It is because the same thing could be the cause and manifesting in various forms. The effect of staphylococcus aureus on your skin is different from the effects it has in the intestine. When in school, did any of your friends taunt you because of your religion? In fairness to them, my colleagues were fantastic. I was the chairman of the medical students on our floor, I was so popular. What about your children, what do they think about Isese? They are all practising Isese. What about discrimination, do they face it in school? Yes, for instance, somebody is supposed to fill a form in school and they asked him to provide sureties. Either a reverend of a church or imam and I asked how about Isese? That is discrimination. We are grossly being discriminated against. Does Isese community have representatives at the ongoing confab? No, we were not invited. Nobody even thought of us. And one could be so infuriated that how can you be deciding for 70 per cent of the population and you are not inviting their representative. I can't just imagine it. If it happened when Europeans were colonial masters, we would have understood, but coming from Nigerians is very painful that we are still doing this to ourselves. Does the government even know about Isese? There is a letter here to President Goodluck Jonathan, a letter to the former secretary to the government, Ahmed Yayale, and they responded. We have been communicating and it's so saddening and we feel very concerned. Whenever we ask for any project, they just ignore us. It's like they hate us. How can you hate 60 to 70 per cent of your society and expect that society to work? Between 1850 and 1914, when they were preparing to merge Nigeria, we knew that the southern economy was supplementing northern economy by about £100,000 even before amalgamation, which was why they decided to merge the north and the south. All those things that were done then were done without involving Isese people. When you say 60-70 per cent, do you mean that people who practise Isese are that many? One, there are many who strictly practise Isese. Two, there are those that are for Isese but facially with other religions. Three, there are those of other religions that use Isese practices. When our forefathers wanted to register Isese and there was a brick wall, they synchronised with other religions like our people did while in slavery. We have St. Michael who is a representative of Ogun in Cuba, we have another saint who is a representative of Sango in Brazil. Those that practise and those that are clandestinely practising, in fact, will form more than 90 per cent of the people. If you were at the confab now, what are things you would be advocating for? I would be advocating that we should go back to the basics-our indigenous way of life. We will never develop by using the western way of life because they developed their indigenous ways of life. Once you don't believe in yourself, how can you survive? The indigenous way of life is to adapt what is available in your environment to your needs. The interesting thing about Nigerian languages is that they started from Usen language. Ear is eti in Yoruba, nti in Igbo, ewure in (Yoruba is ewu). So there are 510 variance of Usen languages that we call Nigerian languages. So my suggestion is that we should employ people to write our vocabularies and put them on excel. You find that everything will pack into not more than 20 synonyms. So the languages become synonyms that will be in our dictionary. Employ 10,000 people to compile and pay them minimum wage and at the end of the day, we would have got a common Usen language for Nigeria. Some people believe that traditional religious worship is associated with ritualism and killing. That is stereotype, so I will urge people to take time to study what Isese is all about. Isese is the path of eternal truth. When you follow Isese, you will not kill or steal. It is only with Isese people that you can sleep and close your eyes because once they say their word, it's their bond. Your father allowed you to go ahead to practise Isese, can you do the same for your children if they decide to practise another religion? None of them will do that because they already know what it means. My own reaction is that I will just call them to say look, you know this now. You know that what you are calling Islam and others started from Isese. Do you want to book a first class or second class? It doesn't sound to reason? Are there things that you miss doing since you became the Oba? People miss things when they didn't do what they should do at the right period. But when you do things when you should, you won't miss anything like that. I had the best of things at all times. I did everything I should. There is no part of the human being that I've not successfully operated. I worked in the smallest unit of health delivery as a one-man clinic to a health centre, general hospital and a teaching hospital. I was deeply into sports and I played for Water Corporation Football Club, Ibadan. We were the only team that beat Hafia of Guinea when Hafia was really a tough team. I think we beat them three-nil or so here and they took us to Yamoussoukro and beat us five-nil because they put werepe (a plant that causes itching) in the tunnel. Those were memorable times. How many wives do you have? There are some things you don't count in tradition. When I took over, I inherited 107 wives. And fortunately, all of them were very old. The system is such that you inherit these old women and most of them belonged to Obas that lived long before I was born. So I took over the Legusen dynasty and took over the women. In the Legusen system, nobody knows who is the son of who or the daughter of who. Because when you are born, you are nursed by the oloris (queens). For instance, my grandfather did not know his mother until it was very late. Once you're mature enough, you are weaned off your mother's breasts and you go to other mothers whose breasts you continue sucking till you are even 18 years old. 18 years? Yes. That's why it was easy for people to tell others that they sucked the same breasts. TOP STORIES How a 'Prophet' R@ped A Woman In Order To 'Heal' Her Stomach Problem! 'How we Jumped out of Boko Haram truck' - Abducted Chibok School Girls Finally Reveal! Posted: 04 May 2014 08:03 AM PDT When Boko Harm struck over 2 weeks ago, abducting over 270 school girls in Chibok, Borno State, some were brave enough to escape.Punch caught up with two of them Sawok & Thabita Walse who gave their account of how they escaped.. Can you describe the attack on your school? Sawok: We were in the hostel. One of the men dressed in military camouflage asked us where our dining hall was. From our hostels, they took us to the dining hall and from there, we were moved into the waiting vehicles and they headed towards Damboa town. The incident happened around 11pm. Walse: It is a long story. They came to our school and deceived us into believing they were soldiers. They were dressed in military uniform and made us believe they were about rescuing us only for us to later find out that they were insurgents. When we discovered, it was already too late and there was little we could do. At what point did you know they were not real soldiers but insurgents? Sawok: They were shouting and rude. That was when it became clear to us that they were insurgents, then they started shooting and set our school on fire. They even shot the security men guarding the school. How did you escape? Sawok: I jumped out of the vehicle that looked like a truck. Walse: Our vehicle developed a problem and they were forced to stop. I took the opportunity with some girls to run into a dark bush. What gave you the courage to jump out of the vehicle? Sawok: I have heard a lot about Boko Haram, the bad things they do and how they have killed many people in the state. I was afraid and I became desperate. I felt getting to their camp could be dangerous for me and it would be better if I escaped. That gave me the courage to jump out. I believed that I would only get injured since it was dark and they may not know how to look for me in the bush. Did all the girls that escaped plan it? Sawok: No, I believe the same thing was running through our minds. Immediately one of us jumped out, the rest of us just started following her. Do you have any injury? Sawok: No, I am very fine. How do you feel about the others that were not able to escape? Sawok: I would have loved all of us to escape. I can't celebrate my escape because some of my friends and classmates are still in the hands of the insurgents and I don't know what they are facing. It is my prayer that they should be freed. Walse: I have no problem, I am okay and very strong physically. The only problem I have is that some of my friends are still held hostage by terrorists.
