Victor Uwaifo Still Looking Great and Performing at Over 70 Years Old

Victor Uwaifo is one of the legendary Nigerian musicians who's still alive and performing and these pictures show he looks quite good and very energetic for man who's 72 years old. Sir Victor Uwaifo, who's known for his mega hit songs, Joromi and Guitar Boy which date back to the sixties, was on stage with Emma Nyra for an outing on the Etisalat Cloud 9 platform. It's great to see him looking not a day over 50.

In a football event commemorating the World AIDS Day and tagged, Play to Zero, several celebritiess showed their colors for charity. Kitted up in red jerseys, Fred Amata, Dr. Sid, Sound Sultan, Wale Rubber, Celestine Babayaro, Daniel Amokachi and many others played for the goal on ending stigma aganst People Living With HIV/AIDS. Good one...

Madiba Lives On - Some of Nelson Mandela's Best Quotes

Nelson Mandela passed away last Thursday aged 95 and the South African president Jacob Zuma in announcing his death stated, "Our nation has lost its greatest son, yet what made Nelson Mandela great was precisely what made him human. We saw in him what we seek in ourselves, and in him we saw so much of ourselves." This cannot be more true.

My comment on FB the day after was about one of my favorite quotes of his. I said, At this time of my life, this quote by Nelson Mandela makes me the most glad that I lived in the times of a man as great as he. RIP Madiba. Your legacy will live on.

It also touched me to see the picture above on Instagram. Mandela was definitely a legend. Below are some more quotes of his, I hope you find them just as inspirational.

Mandela on death:

Death is something inevitable. When a man has done what he considers to be his duty to his people and his country, he can rest in peace. I believe I have made that effort and that is, therefore, why I will sleep for the eternity.

April 1964: While facing the death penalty, Nelson Mandela made the following speech towards the end of his trial:

During my lifetime, I have dedicated myself to this struggle of the African people. I have fought against white domination, and I have fought against black domination. I have cherished the ideal of a democratic and free society in which all persons will live together in harmony and with equal opportunities. It is an ideal which I hope to live for. But, my lord, if needs be, it is an ideal for which I am prepared to die.


On racism:

No one is born hating another person because of the colour of his skin, or his background, or his religion. People must learn to hate, and if they can learn to hate, they can be taught to love, for love comes more naturally to the human heart than its opposite.

Discussing optimism in his autobiography, Long Walk to Freedom:

I am fundamentally an optimist. Whether that comes from nature or nurture, I cannot say. Part of being optimistic is keeping one's head pointed toward the sun, one's feet moving forward. There were many dark moments when my faith in humanity was sorely tested, but I would not and could not give myself up to despair. That way lays defeat and death.

On forgiveness:

We recall our terrible past so that we can deal with it, to forgive where forgiveness is necessary, without forgetting; to ensure that never again will such inhumanity tear us apart; and to move ourselves to eradicate a legacy that lurks dangerously as a threat to our democracy.

Daddy Time - 2Face Shows Love to His Daughter on Her Birthday

Isabella, 2face's daughter with Annie Idibia was 5 yesterday and having very social parents and family friends, she received lots of shout outs on Twitter and Instagram wishing her a happy day. 2face posted this picture of them in matching tracksuits and said, "Yayyyyyÿ! Ma baby is 5 2day o. Now now now o. Daddy loves u!" So cute :)
