The aged mother of the late MIC Caskets and Undertakers boss, Olatunji Okusanya who died in the ill-fated Associated Aviation plane crash, Mrs. Juliana Olayemi Okusanya is still in shock, Sunday Sun gathered yesterday from a family source. The late Okusanya who would have turned 60 in a few weeks, died alongside his 30-year-old son (also named Tunji) in the Akure-bound plane conveying the remains of the former governor of Ondo State, Dr. Olusegun Agagu for burial last Thursday. The plane crashed shortly after takeoff from the Lagos Airport, killing16 of the 20 people on board. When Sunday Sun visited the Bariga, Lagos home of the Okusanya matriarch, the 91-year-old bereaved mother looked pale, fragile and speechless. She managed to respond to greetings from the crowd of sympathizers who thronged her residence endlessly. By her side were rolls of tissue paper, which indicated that she had been crying herself to stupor. It was just a matter of minutes before she excused herself from the sitting room and was led into a nearby room. For the next two hours, it became obvious that grandma, as she is fondly called, had retired for the day. During the two hours of wait, Sunday Sun gathered that the late Okusanya was the rallying force of the Okusanya kindred. Okusanya, who took over his father's business, Sunday Sun reporters also learnt, was until his death a philanthropist, another thing he inherited from his late father. A family member who would not like to be named told the reporters that: "Grandma has been taking it as a Christian, since the Holy Book says that we should not mourn as the unbelievers because we will see our dead on the resurrection morning. But I can tell you that it is not easy at all. Mama keeps shouting 'two generations at once.' We are taking solace in God. Grandma is still greatly in shock and disbelief," she said. Sunday Sun also gathered that Agagu's casket had before the ill-fated journey 'refused' to get on board the plane, but was virtually forced into the aircraft by the MIC boss, his son and his staff members who all died in the crash.Members of the Okusanya family lamented that if they had known that their loving Tunji and his son would not come back alive, they would have prevented him from accepting a job, which they said had caused them so much pain and anguish. "It is sad, very sad," another family member was heard lamenting. "Why would they use another casket to bury Agagu? Why not the one from MIC that was used initially. It is sad. The rate at which lives are being lost in this country is becoming alarming. It is only God that will console Junior's mum," he lamented. SunNews | ||
| SHOCKER!! Two suspected homosexuals caught in church!! Posted: 07 Oct 2013 10:45 AM PDT ![]() According to the Police Prosecutor, Inspector Solomon Oladele, the suspects, a 19-year-old Samuel Friday and Oni Oluwatobi, aged 18 were said to have committed the act sometime in May, 2013 at 2a.m., in the church. The charge preferred against the accused read: "That you Samuel Friday and Oni Oluwatobi sometime in May, 2013 at 2a.m. at Peace of Jesus Apostolic Church, Asubiaro, Osogbo did conspire together to commit felony, to wit indecent sexual practice between yourselves." Oladele informed the court that the two suspects conducted themselves in a manner that was capable of causing breach of public peace and have desecrated the place of worship. It was also gathered that Friday had sometime in May 2013 at Sadiat area, Ilesa Road in Osogbo at 4p.m., sexually assaulted a boy simply identified as Oladipupo Moruf by fondling his private part without the latter's approval. The second count of the charge read: "That you Samuel Friday, sometime, in May 2013 at Sadiat area, Ilesa Road in Osogbo at 4p.m., in the Osogbo Magisterial District did indecently seduce one Oladipupo Moruf by touching his private part." The prosecutor contended that the accused persons committed the offences contrary to and punishable under Sections 516, 249 (D), and Section 217 of the Criminal Code Cap 34, Vol. II, Laws of Osun State of Nigeria, 2003. When the four counts charge against them were read to them, they pleaded not guilty and their counsel, Mrs. Nnenna Ngwu, prayed the court to grant them bail, arguing that they are presumed innocent until the contrary was proved by the prosecution. Magistrate Olusola Aluko granted the accused persons bail in the sum of N100,000 each with two sureties in like sum Vanguard | ||

| SHOCKER!! Woman caught planting bomb near primary school!! Posted: 07 Oct 2013 10:15 AM PDT ![]() A guard caught a woman planting a bomb next to a primary school in Iraq on Monday, while two blasts killed four Sahwa anti-Al-Qaeda fighters, officials said. The woman was trying to plant a bomb next to the wall of a school in Madain, south of Baghdad, but was discovered by one of the school's guards, who turned her over to the army with the help of a second guard, an interior ministry official said. The attempted bombing came a day after a suicide bombers attacked a primary school and a nearby police station in northern Iraq, killing 18 people, including 10 children. A total of 36 people were killed in attacks across Iraq on Sunday. North of the capital, two roadside bombs killed four Sahwa anti-Al-Qaeda fighters and wounded five on Monday. The Sahwa, who joined forces with the United States from late 2006 and helped bring about a sharp reduction in violence in Iraq, are frequently targeted by Sunni militants, who consider them to be traitors. Violence in Iraq has reached a level unseen since 2008, amid persistent fears of a relapse into the kind of intense Sunni-Shiite bloodshed that peaked in 2006-2007 and killed tens of thousands of people. The latest violence takes this month's death toll to more than 170, and more than 4,850 since the beginning of the year, according to AFP figures based on security and medical sources. Vanguard | ||
| "Nollywood is a mixture of prostítutes and professionals". - Popular Actress Mariam Bakare Reveals!! Posted: 07 Oct 2013 09:56 AM PDT ![]() Mariam Omolara Barake, actress, is a mother of three. In this interview with Tribune, she speaks on why she ventured into magazine production, her take on the Association of Nigerian Theatre Practitioners (ANTP) crisis and her fashion preferences. Excerpts: Why I kept a low profile. I agree with you that I kept a low profile in recent time. It was my decision to focus on another things and I don't have any regret that I am still in the industry. I think it was high time for me to take such step since I had already registered my face in the minds of my fans and it was a thing I have been longing for years back. To me, what I am doing at present is still part of entertainment. I now produce a magazine called 'Central Star magazine'. Despite all odds, the outcome is really impressive. The magazine focuses on the entertainment industry, both up-and-coming and stars, legends of the industry, entertainment events, behind the scenes, culture and tradition among others. Weather I am tired of acting. I can't be tired of my passion. It is just that I had to purse for a while. It got to a stage that I had to mellow down to focus more on my family. I discovered that my family needs me more, so I had to make a u-turn to attend to my home diligently before any other thing. How I discovered acting. Unknown to me, I had the talent right from my tender age. Back then, I made people around me laugh and happy. The way I pronounce some languages, even in Yoruba amazes people, but indirectly it was funny to them. Though, I am a quiet person, I feel I love to be in another world. Gradually I discovered myself and I am proud to be part of the stakeholders of the industry. The experience has been interesting and I feel glad to be a professional actress. Nobody had really influenced my career because my talent was revealed to me. Growing up. It was fun. I was brought up from a mixed family. A Hausa and Yoruba background; my father is Hausa man from Kano precisely and my mum is from Ifon in Ondo State. My dad is a retired officer and a business man, while my mum was a banker at the Union Bank until she retired. It's always an interesting family; I have three sisters and a brother. Challenges in the industry. I don't see challenges as a stumbling block, it is part of what you should expect when you want to achieve a result in whatever you lay your hands upon. I am always ready to face anything I come across. I am used to it in my previous businesses. I was into auto mobile business. I travel to neighbouring countries like Togo and Mali to buy and sell cars. I am also into treasure stones businesses. These businesses had prepared me to face any other challenges I might come across later in life, especially in the entertainment industry. Whatever I experience in the industry today is not new to me. I love to meet and relate with different people every day because that is the only way to learn. I have encountered lots of challenges. I could remember what I faced when I featured in one of the movies that shut me into limelight. There were lots of discrimination against uncle Jide Kosoko's auditioning. Some people tried to poison his mind not to use me because I am not a Yoruba person, but he insisted and at the end, God had His way; he eventually picked me. But the joy is that I have been able to impact life positively with my talents. My favourite film. I have featured in several movies and I have also produced couple of movies too; three precisely. In fact, I have one that I am working on at present titled 'Omi' (water). I have done 'Se o tan,' 'Igba ara,' and 'Obirin rere.' All are my favourite because I like to share experience, act different roles as well as meet different people. My take on ANTP crisis. I want to use this medium to charge everyone that wants progress for this association to look inward on the things that will bring it back to its right. I am really interested in the progress of the association and that is one of the reasons I support the vision of President Ashaolu. I think we should all join hands to support his vision. He had carried out a lot of landmark projects and reasonable activities to foster unity in the association. He is really fighting actors that are lacking behind. He is trying to bridge the vacuum and create equal right among all actors. There are large numbers of talented actors suffering due to neglects; these are the set of people that are very punctual in meetings and strive to pay their dues. Ashaolu is standing against these bad ideas and I think we should join hands with him to restore oneness that would lead this association to our promise land. It is sad that we are yet to have our own office as an association. Currently he is creating harmony between the Yoruba actors and others in the movie sector. He is also making efforts that ANTP could also have access to the funds government gave the industry. It is high time we all reason together and have collective minds to move ANTP forward. Definition of style. I believe in simplicity because I am a simple person. My nature and the way I see things also has to do with my style. It is not that I don't know what is in vogue, but I love to remain simple and not noisy. Description of self. As I said earlier, I am a very simple and God fearing person; ready to serve people and make people around me happy irrespective of any circumstances. Choice of accessories. I crave for designers a lot, both international and our own. I know what it entails because I am into the business too. Beauty regimen. It is the normal routine. I take my birth before I go to bed. I don't use much make-up on myself. I usually apply white powder on my face. Favourite colour. I love white dearly. I feel comfortable in it and it think it brings out my beauty whenever I on it. I make more statement in white. Fashion item I cannot do without. I cannot do without my eye brow because I have a nice I eye led to play with it. I don't think my day is complete without it. Fashion items you cannot be caught dead wearing. That has to do with what is in vogue these days. I can't wear a tattoo, either bogus or minor. I believe as a professional actress you don't need to wear a permanent make-up or tattoo on our body. That is one of the sacrifices we ought to bear as far as this profession is concerned. An actor must be dynamic because you could feature in any role in any movie and it is unprofessional to wear same face or look tall the time. That is why we have the costume segment in movie production. There are a lot of unpardonable errors in our movie production. For example, in a typical local setting of a movie, you would see the actor with a long fixed painted nails. Also, an actress wearing an obvious tattoo and at the same time acting as a responsible mother in a movie. What message are we passing across? You must look natural so as to be ready to act any role at any point in time. Beauty secret. I give glory to God for creating me this way. He is my secret. How I keep in shape. I wasn't conscious of myself, because I didn't take time to take a glance at the mirror, until recently when I discovered that I have really gained weight. Initially I was slim, but people said it was because I have started bearing children. But for some time now I have been working hard to watch my weight and the things I eat in other to keep in shape. My opinion on toning. I don't have a positive take on that. To me, it is very dangerous. I am sure that those who did such must have been regretting it by now. There are lots of misconceptions about me because of the kind of complexion I have. I will tell you categorically that I only use Lux soap. A lot of people that are addicted to this do not consider the kind of weather we have here. They are always conscious of being noticed, which is a bad idea. Take on provocative dressing. It is not ideal to castigate anyone concerning this because we are all brought up from a different home and background. Back in the days, any lady that wore trousers is described as prostitutes, but it is a different thing today. This is because we have been influenced by the foreign world. Today, provocative dressing is on the increase, it is beyond trousers. You cannot comprehend what you see in the social world today. Even in our industry, it is now a mixture of prostitutes and professionals. We have gone beyond what we tapped from the foreign world. Our young generations have also joined the race of indecent dressings. A lot of actors in the industry don't have passion for this profession; they have come into the industry with a dirty motive and to sell or showcase themselves. We have made effort to caution them, but they would not want to adjust. Whether they like it or not, nemesis will catch up with them someday. They are poised to flaunt their selling points and to use the industry as a means to showcase their businesses. That is why they do all sort to look for fame. We are expected to be a good model to our fans and the general public. How I handle my male admirers. It is a normal thing. It is not only in this industry one encounters such; it is everywhere. It depends on the way you present yourself. As a married woman I know how I portray myself and there had never been any problem to handle that because mere looking at me, you will know that I am a responsible wife. My husband's support. I thank God for the kind of man He gave me. He is always ready to give a hand to actualise my dream. He was the person that registered my company and came home to give me the certificate. The management of the home front and my career has always been smooth with his assistance | ||
| SHOCKER!! Yoruba movie star Yomi Fash-Lanso beaten by fans’ for refusing to sign autographs!! Posted: 07 Oct 2013 09:47 AM PDT ![]() Yoruba actor, YomiFash Lanso, was nearly mobbed by his fans at D'Rovans Hotel in Ibadan area on Thursday afternoon. Eye witness accounts had it that Fash-Lanso, in company with one of his colleagues at a fashion school in the area, was sighted by few students of the school and asked him and his colleague for autographs, but he bluntly refused their requests despite all pleas. According to witnesses, his colleague complied while Fash-Lanso did not, prompting the school's proprietor to appeal to him to give the students his autograph. To the students', proprietor's and passers-bye's amazement, the actor declined to sign any autograph, saying he would not give his autograph. Within the twinkle of an eye, amazement turned into fury as the fans nearly mobbed him, calling him names. One of the witnesses told R that the actor's reaction did not surprise him as he had heard from many that the actor was an arrogant person. "I have always heard that YomiFash-Lanso is arrogant but I did not believe it until now. I used to like him, but with that display he showed, he's really a ..." Another quipped that; "I don't understand why people would want an autograph from him. The guy is too full of himself and it's not as if he acts that well. We have seen the likes of Oga Bello, Ogogo, Yinka Quadri and Funsho Adeolu come personally down to greet us and sign autographs for us here. It is a shame that an actor would display this kind of pride and arrogance to his fans. Doesn't he know that without his fans, he is nothing?" It took the intervention of the school proprietor, the actor's colleague and some other people in the vicinity to prevail upon the fans who had made up their minds to deal with him. Tribune | ||

| SHOCKER!! Government Suspends Dana Air's License…Again! Posted: 07 Oct 2013 07:24 AM PDT ![]() NCAA, said on Sunday night that Dana has been suspended for precautionary measures after the airline had an air return.Spokesperson Fan Ndubuoke said "They had an air return from Port Harcourt and they have been suspended for precautionary measures. The airline is under investigation," Disclosing this development in a two paragraph text message to newsmen on behalf of NCAA at about 9.30pm by the Co-ordinating General Manager for the Aviation Parastatals, Mr. Yakubu Dati said that the grounding of the airline was necessary as that would enable the regulatory body to conduct a proper operational audit on Dana Air. The regulatory body however promised to give detailed information on the development later. As at the time of writing this report, the detailed information surrounding the grounding of the airline had not been given. The suspension of Dana Air will further compounded the problem of shortage of airlines already being suffered by the travelling public. If you recall three months after the Iju-Ishaga Dana crash which killed 163 people, their license was suspended on the 17th of March 2013 to "resolve certain safety issues,"The ban was lifted days later.. This is the third time Dana air license would be revoked. | ||
| Posted: 07 Oct 2013 07:02 AM PDT ![]() Over one year later on 3rd October 2013 there was another plane crash in which 17 people died. Before the first crash took place last year and between the two major crashes there were numerous other smaller ones involving light aircrafts, helicopters etc. that were not publicised. All these these unfortunate events occurred under the tenure of Princess Stella Oduah, the Hon. Minister of Aviation. Under her watch close to 200 Nigerians have been killed in air crashes in the last two years alone. This does not surprise me because it was predictable considering her spiritual and emotional disposition. What surprises me is the fact that just one day after those that perished in the latest crash were killed, before the victims were buried, before the site of the crash was cleared, before the charred remains of some of the broken bodies still lay on the crash site and before any formal investigation into the causes of the crash have even commenced, let alone been concluded, the ruling PDP, through their spokesman Chief Olisa Metuh, has told the world that they have ''full confidence'' in Stella Oduah and that ''she should be allowed to continue her good work''. Is there any greater evidence of the fact that the PDP is a sick party that is led by sick people than this? Such insensitivity is rarely seen anywhere in the world. Only in Nigeria can this happen. I wonder if Metuh would have been so quick to speak up for the Minister of Aviation if she had been a yoruba and if the crash had taken place at Enugu airport whilst the body of a former Igbo governor with some of his family members and government officials was being flown home for burial. I imagine that in that scenario they would have asked for his or her head. I really do wonder about these people. How many more people have to killed in air crashes before our President realises that he needs a new Minister of Aviation? There is far more to aviation than beautifying airports. The first and most important consideration has to be the safety of the passengers followed by the seriousness, discipline and efficiency of the aviation parastatals and the airworthiness of the planes. Most important of all when a plane crashes, whatever the reasons or causes, the Minister ought to assume full responsibility and even offer his or her resignation or be removed. This is because it is his or her primary responsibility to keep air travellers safe and alive. Sadly it does not appear that this is likely to happen anytime soon. As a matter of fact I am convinced that even if 1,000 people were killed in air crashes in the space of just one year under Goodluck Jonathan he still would not redeploy or sack Stella Oduah because our President just ''doesn't give a damn''. May God help us and may He keep our skies safe. Or What do you think? Is he Right? | ||

| SHOCKER!!! Boko Haram kills 20 as troops clash in mosque!! Posted: 07 Oct 2013 06:45 AM PDT ![]() "The terrorists… attacked worshippers in a mosque and killed five of them who came to perform their morning prayers," said the military's statement quoting captain Aliyu Ibrahim Danja, army spokesman for the region. "They also set ablaze the official residence and palace of the District Head along with some shops. "While they were unleashing their mayhem, troops under 7 Division engaged the terrorists, killing 15 in the process while others fled in disarray." Borno was placed under a state of emergency in mid-May, when the military shut down the mobile phone network to block Islamists from coordinating attacks in an operation aimed at crushing the insurgency. With the communication network switched off, details of attacks have been slow to emerge and difficult to verify. Boko Haram has said it is fighting to create an Islamic state in northern Nigeria, but its aims have shifted and the group is believed to consist of different factions. The group has attacked churches, mosques, schools, newspaper offices, the security forces, politicians and a UN building, among other targets. The Boko Haram conflict is estimated to have cost more than 3,600 lives since 2009, including killings by the security forces, who have been accused of major abuses. Vanguard | ||
| Former Miss Nigeria NIKE OSHINOWO WELCOMES TWINS AT 47!! Posted: 07 Oct 2013 06:41 AM PDT Former Miss Nigeria and Chief Executive of AOE Events & Entertainment Limited, Chief Adenike Oshinowo, is a proud mother of a set of twins. The one-time beauty queen, now 47, became a first time mother two weeks ago, when she delivered a set of twins with the help of a surrogate gestational carrier in United States of America. She has a long-term association with endometriosis – a disorder that occurs when the endometrium (cells lining the uterus) grows in other areas of the body, causing excruciating pain. Medical experts identify endometriosis as a significant factor in unexplained female infertility, chronic pelvic pain, and other gynaecological problems. Details of the twins were not revealed at press time, however, in a statement to Health & Living, on the development, the joyous new mother expressed happiness and gratitude to the Almighty, for making her a mother despite all odds. "I am overwhelmed and humbled by the depth of my love for my children. God has been most gracious to me. I am beyond happy." In gestational surrogacy, eggs from the intended mother are fertilised by sperms from the intended father, and the resulting embryos are implanted into the uterus of a gestational surrogate also known as the "birth mother". The surrogate then carries the baby until birth. A gestational surrogate has no genetic ties to the child because it wasn't her egg that was used unlike a traditional surrogate who is the baby's biological mother because it is her egg that is fertilised. ![]() A woman might use a surrogate for reasons ranging from medical problems with her uterus to conditions that make pregnancy impossible or medically risky, such as severe heart disease. Other women choose surrogacy after trying unsuccessfully to get pregnant with a variety of assisted-reproduction techniques, ART, such as IVF. Congrats to her! Vanguard | ||

| I Knew That Plane Was Very Bad - Feyi Agagu Reveals... Posted: 07 Oct 2013 06:10 AM PDT ![]() Facts have emerged that Feyi Agagu, who is one of the survivors of the crashed Associated Airline, that was carrying his late father's corpse, told a family member that he was uneasy about the plane the minute he laid eyes on it at the airport but he was reassured by his brother-in-law, Femi Akinsanya, who later became the first person to walk out of the crashed plane alive. Out of fear and concern, Feyi took a back seat in the plane. Below are the revelations: "The young man said that once they got to the tarmac before boarding and once he sighted the plane, what struck him was the seemingly very old look of the plane. "Feyi said he didn't like the looks of the plane. He also said but for the importance and significance of the trip, his inner sense didn't feel comfortable boarding the plane. "In fact, Feyi said he told another survivor, Femi Akinsanya, that the plane looked too old and he didn't feel like boarding. But Feyi said he was told not to get himself worked up needlessly since this was not going to be his first time aboard a plane neither would this be the first old-looking plane that he would board. "That was how he said he boarded the plane. Why Feyi chose the back seat was more a function of his state of mind about the state of the plane rather than a preference for taking a back seat. "When they sat down, Feyi told me that he and Femi simply prayed that they should just take off and land safely, oblivious of what lay ahead of them. Feyi said once they took off, everything happened so fast. "What he also told me was that both he and Femi noticed what looked like a crack not far from where they sat at the rear end of the plane. "He said everything happened so fast that by the time the plane crashed on the ground, it was that crack that had been noticed earlier that transformed into a gaping exit point upon impact on the ground. "Feyi said the exit point created was where he and Femi escaped through" | ||

"You know, I gotta hustle. I'm a 28-year-old woman in the movie business, right? Pretty soon the roles you're offered all become mothers. Then they just sort of stop. I have to hedge against that with work-theater, producing; this thing with Esquire." [More Hot Photos From ScarJo's Sexiest Woman Alive Shoot] The actress has definitely been keeping herself busy. In between films, Johansson got engaged to French journalist Romain Dauriac over the summer. "I didn't think I was a jealous person until I started dating my current, my one-and-only," the sexy star reveals. "I think maybe in the past I didn't have the same kind of investment. Not that I liked my partner less, I just wasn't capable of it or caring that much." Scarlett has been in several high-profile relationships, romancing the likes of Sean Penn and Jared Leto. She was also married to Ryan Reynolds before calling it quits in 2010. But being in a relationship with the Sexiest Woman Alive can't be easy. "I'm taking a month-long vacation," she reveals. " But I'm not going anywhere, which just makes it more of a staycation. There's luxury in being near home. When you spend a lot of time, like I do, just standing around and waiting, or being moved from place to place, every minute gets consumed by something someone else has set up for you. ![]() OmgYahoo |
