| Pro-Russian Rebels Probably Shot Down Malaysian Airlines MH17 Thinking It Was Military AN-26 Posted: 17 Jul 2014 06:50 PM PDT  Separatist leader Igor Strelkov reportedly posted a statement on Russia's largest social network that referred to an surface to air missile action that lead to a downed plane in Eastern Ukraine. The same area where the Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 was shot down on Thursday morning. Business Insider reports that the Ukrainian Crisis Media Center shared and translated a screenshot of Strelkov's comment, shown below, on Facebook. Strelkov, also known as Girkin, posted Thursday at 9:50 a.m. EST on VKontakte, Russia's version of Facebook. Most notably, he wrote, "We have warned them — not to fly in 'our sky.'"  Strelkov referenced that the separatists shot down "AN-26," a Ukrainian military transport plane. He put that crash somewhere near a mine called "Progress," located in Torez, the same city where the Malaysia passenger plane reportedly crashed. Thus, the Crisis center noted the terrorists likely mistook flight MH 17 for the Ukrainian aircraft. Leaked audio between separatists reviewing the crash site also confirm they didn't know they hit a civilian plane. According to another Facebook post by user known as Russia, hands off Ukraine; This is how the story about #MH17 developed: 1.On morning of June 17, pro-russian terrorists boast that they have captured ground-to-air missile "Buk" and show the pictures. 2. Terrorists shot down a plane and say that this is Ukrainian military transport aircraft AN-26. 3. All YouTube and pro-russian FB and Twitter communities celebrate this fact and distribute video of the burning plane. 4. Ten minutes later, there are reports that the downed aircraft - is passenger airliner Boing which belongs Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17 with 295 people on board. 5. All pro-russian communities starts to cut news about captured ground-to-air missile "Buk" and news about Ukrainian AN-26 crash and delete videos. | Malaysia Airlines MH17 Passenger Plane Crashes Over Ukraine With All 295 Aboard Dead Posted: 17 Jul 2014 05:05 PM PDT  A Malaysia Airlines jet carrying 295 people has crashed in east Ukraine on a flight from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur. There are no signs of survivors at the scene of the crash near the village of Grabovo, in rebel-held territory close to the border with Russia. Both sides in Ukraine's civil conflict accused each other of shooting down the plane with a missile. It is still not clear why the plane came down. It is the second disaster suffered by Malaysia Airlines this year after Flight MH370 disappeared en route from Malaysia to China in April and still has not been found.     At a news conference at Schiphol airport, Malaysia Airlines' European chief Huib Gorter said they were still trying to identify some of the passengers from flight MH17. He said of the passengers that have been identified there were: 154 Dutch nationals, 27 Australians, 23 Malaysians, 11 Indonesians Six Britons, four Germans, four Belgians, three from the Philippines and one Canadian All 15 of the crew were Malaysian Other airlines have announced they are now avoiding eastern Ukraine. | ||||

| See The First Woman Firefighter To Be Featured in Calendar of Heroes Posted: 17 Jul 2014 06:32 AM PDT  Danae Mines said she's always wanted to be one of the fire-fighters featured in the yearly New York Fire Department Calendar of Heroes, and feels very happy to be Miss March 2015. "I wanted my picture in the calendar so that young girls and young women can see me and know that they can do this job," she said.But for Danae, one of the city's few female firefighters for more than a decade, being the first woman featured in the FDNY Calender didn't come easy. At first, she was told the honor was reserved for men only. "I was told that it was all guys. They said if I made it in the calendar, I would look like a pinup girl." Danae told the NY Daily News that when she saw an open call for FDNY firefighters posted on the wall of her firehouse last year, she decided it was finally time to break down the gender barriers — but on her own terms. "I wasn't going to let anyone tell me I couldn't do what I wanted to do," she said. "I was determined." Mines admitted feeling a little intimidated standing in line with more than 100 men to audition for a calendar traditionally known to showcase shirtless firemen. "I was a little scared," said Mines. "I was the only female." But Mines is used to facing adversity head-on. She auditioned and was selected even though in her calendar shot, she is dressed more modestly - in a gray tank top and red suspenders - than her shirtless male counterparts. Her dreams of becoming a firefighter began when she was just 10 years old after one of the city's Bravest visited her school to talk about the job. But her family told her that she should consider another career, because only men joined the FDNY. "I had absolutely no support from my family when I wanted to come on the job," she said. Mines became an EMT and, despite her family's requests, accepted a promotion to become a firefighter in 2003. And she hasn't been able to stop her relatives from gloating about her ever since. "Once I graduated (from the Fire Academy), it was the complete opposite," she said. "They could not stop bragging." Despite being one of 41 women firefighters in the department, Mines said she's faced with no more challenges than any other man on the job. "I always go above and beyond, because that's my job. Terry Bartley of Greensboro, North Carolina filmed himself sweating and struggling to breathe in his car on a 90-degree day to find out what it's like to be a child forgotten in the back seat. Mr Bartley posted the video on Youtube June 20, just two days after 22-month-old Cooper Harris died after his dad left him in a parked SUV for nine hours. 'I'm sitting in the car with the windows rolled up because I want to know hot it feels to be left in the car and sitting in the back seat, strapped into the car seat,' Mr Bartley says in the video, as sweat streams down his face. 'As you can see, I'm sweating like I can barely breathe out here and my system is stronger than these little kids.' Mr Bartley says he would never leave his children in the car, even if the engine was running with the air conditioning on. 'They would get out of the car and come with me or I ain't gonna stop at all. This is wrong,' he says. So far this year, 17 children have died of heatstroke after being left in a car, according to San Francisco State University's Department of Earth & Climate Studies. Posted: 17 Jul 2014 01:01 AM PDT  Parents are at risk for making mistakes when giving children their medication, as they may not remember their child's prescribed dose or how to measure the dose correctly. The mix-up of terms like milliliter, teaspoon and tablespoon also contributes to more than 10,000 calls by parents to the poison center each year. These facts are from the results of a study in the August 2014 Pediatrics, published online July 14, and which found that medication errors are common. Titled, "Unit of Measurement Used and Parent Medication Dosing Errors", the study found that 39.4 percent of parents incorrectly measured the dose they intended, and ultimately 41.1 percent made an error in measuring what their doctor had prescribed. If you are a parent concerned that you may be making these errors, read on for how to minimze the risk. Part of the reason why parents may be confused regarding how to dose prescribed medications accurately is that a range of units of measurement, like milliliters, teaspoons and tablespoons, may be used interchangeably to describe their child's dose as part of counseling by their doctor or pharmacist, or when the dose is shown on their prescription or medication bottle label. | 6 Ways For You and Your Partner To Get Your Sexy Back After Baby Posted: 17 Jul 2014 12:02 AM PDT  Anyone who has ever had a baby has probably been there: Standing in front of a mirror, breasts swollen and heavy, body still stretched from childbirth and pregnancy, exhausted from newborn night confusion, and wondering how on EARTH you will ever find the energy, desire, or confidence to be with your partner again in any sexual way. Take it from me who has been there three times: It comes back. But it takes a while. Still, the truth is the faster you get back on track to intimacy, the better things will be for everyone in the family (including mommy!). "Sexuality and, more importantly, intimacy are extremely important in a marriage. Sexless or low sex marriages are very fragile," says Dr. Lauren Napolitano, a psychologist and author. Indeed. But how does one get back on track when they feel ANYTHING but sexy? 1.) Wait: It might seem counter-intuitive to say you should "wait," but the fact is intercourse -- and even cuddling and "other" sexual matters -- are best left until the new mom feels physically ready. Half the battle is not feeling pressured and being allowed to resume those intimate feelings on her own time. "The irony is that intimacy can help to fill back up the reserves. My advice to my clients is to reconnect slowly starting with talking, touching, kissing, etc. Women need foreplay -- especially after having a baby," says psychologist Julie Bindeman. 2.) Lubricate: Nursing depletes our stores and nothing says horrible intimacy like a Sahara desert experience. Use lubrication and use it liberally. Also, if it hurts, stop. If one person feels ready or is pressuring the other too soon, things won't work. I'll never forget two weeks after my first child was born wanting to smack my husband when he suggested that he missed intimacy. Almost a decade later, I get it. He loved me. He missed me.
